Good video for me, I was downtown earlier today and those particular areas remind me of Bay Street in Emeryville.
That part of downtown Redding to me has a better quality of certain things, and if parking is only a buck an hour and you can't beat that.
Good night from Papua New Guinea. I enjoyed watching your contents. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for tuning in! 👋
And also all the red light cameras that went up around in the area for additional revenue
Someone took a bunch of grant money to build those crowded "income based" housing units. The people who moved in there are not from Redding. Polish it and put a bow on it all you like, it's Central planners' working their social engineering as usual.
I was there last summer. The hassle of parking made me turn around and leave
Hey there is so much parking on street and with the garage now that I bet it would be a different experience this time around.
@@barrettteam is there a cost for that parking?
Getting closer to the 15 minutes city concept no thank you
How about adding more EV charging locations in the downtown area?
Lol 'downtown street recirculation' - they are actually letting cars drive through what was once a walkable shopping mall. Gotta make room for two escape rooms!
You where next to our apartment! Even tho I'm moving soon
It looked really depressed 10 years ago. I bet venture capitalists will take a huge loss on all this.
Watch out for all the human feces that the homeless leave and the local businesses can do anything about it
This is so ridiculously cute and not true would love to fact check
Hey Dennis, we interviewed Erin who is at the forefront with K2 development in all of the changes. You are more than welcome to reach out to them as well but everything shared is true. Let me know what exactly you feel you might need to fact check regarding what was said in this episode
no crime/ homeless ?
We talked about those issues in our most recent video regarding 5 things you should know before moving to Redding.
becuase of the crime everyone in redding has a gun and is extremely paranoid, the police will not respond to any calls unless you have been shot or stabbed. The are literally 1000's of homeless people living in the bushes, that during the 110 degree summer can get very agitated. The county is extremely corrupt and spends money on stuff that is NOT needed (the brand new, 100 million $ court house is just one example). The town is full of drug addicts that will steal everything you own if its not welded to something, just sayin'!
Hey, i want to know if Redding is a open town for different cultures and religions. My parents are planning to move here in the next few years and I’m anxious about what other people would think about me because I’m Asian Canadian.
We are definitely accepting and open to different cultures and religions. Due to our growth and diversity our area has brought over the years, Im confident you could find a place here where you feel supported etc.
Thanks!
Racist rednecks everywhere. Stay away
I don't recommend it.
Redding is a very WHITE and very conservative city. Those are the facts. If you are a minority, you will definitely feel out of place the majority of the time. Just being real as someone from out of state 🤷🏾♂️
Why would you want more cars in a downtown area?
With more parking available and downtown growth, I see more cars as a positive thing that there are more people downtown to support the businesses making it a thriving area.
@@barrettteam More cars means congestion, ugliness, and danger for pedestrians. Walkable areas make better downtown experiences. Why use up downtown space for parking spots instead of businesses? There are other options for parking.
I completely understand your thought process. I’m not sure if you reside in our area, but with the improvement of downtown and the addition of clean transportation, there are now more walkable areas and sidewalks, making it easier to navigate downtown on foot. The previous parking system took up a lot of wasted space, but now new buildings have been built.
The problem is that if there isn’t enough parking provided and just an influx of businesses, nobody will come downtown because they wouldn't have anywhere to park. Often, people park and then walk around, so this parking change and adding parking in various spots has been helping the area continue to grow in a healthy way.
@@barrettteam greening up downtown ...add some trollies...bike paths...and foot traffic... versus vehicular throughfair
Its working on a great destination/retirement town....
