    I'm grateful that you revealed the truth. I purchased my house in 1996 because the BART station had just opened. It's just a mile's walk to the BART and a shopping center is adjacent. It was a new development,
    my street was so wide and clean. However, it has changed a bit due to the increase in the number of parked cars on the street since the 2007-2008 financial crisis, triggered by the bursting of the United States housing bubble and the devaluation of housing-related securities. I still love living in this city.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Pittsburg always gets a bad rap in the news. There is WAY more good than bad in the city.

    As a long time resident I can tell you the schools are fine. Many have been rebuilt over the last ten years. We have the Seafood Festival every year, food truck nights, movie night in the park to mention just a few things to do. Crime isn’t as bad as many Bay Area cities. The City Park which you didn’t show, host many sports leagues and a minor league baseball team. As you mentioned, Pittsburg is in a revitalization mode are sprucing up much of the town. While are neighboring city of Antioch is declining and crime is out of hand. If you interviewed a long time resident they could tell you about “Pittsburg Pride”.

    Never have i heard someone talk about my hometown so elegantly...notice he is in the marina district and not in the lo...or west Pittsburg and there is a reason for that

      Thanks for watching and commenting. West Pittsburg is a separate town and will have its own video at some point. Should I record in the most challenging areas of Pittsburg, like most videos and news stories? I talk about the good and the bad.

      Bro the lo and the west are very small parts of Pittsburg. Most of the areas of Pittsburg have been cleaned up and the city is better off without these half ass thugs.

      Yep I live in the marina it's nice no lie but it's just for the visual and entertaining the non locals. Sure we offer the og downtown pittsburg old school happening place of the place my mom grew up in but now it's all fake with high cost pf livings to charm the implants and the non natives. It's a farce

      He doesn't even know the history in this very video. Clearly a implant not from here. And plugging all the glam without true functionality. Our little town is a growth but anyone truly from here knows especially about downtown P especially marina area was a booming place, minus the overpriced rent amd bullshit they think is going to get more revenue here. End of the day we don't care about the hotel on the side of hwy 4, we care about our city and functionality of it. How dare anyone not from here talk about our town without knowing any history other than it's potential growth. And with that growth better come with more that the bullshit visual for the tourists/newbies moving here. Yall make it roses and cake during any event but could give a rats about what it is like to live here. Zero focus on the traffic, or transportation of you ride the bus.
      Cost of living is insane but your only offer is the marina. Thanks lived here for almost 30 yrs. It's nice but it's turned into a shit show of pretend now a days

    As a resident of Pitt for the last 20 yrs this is an awesome town. I love it here I found my beautiful wife here. As for crime i don’t feel it’s a huge concern at all. I grew up in the Sunnydale Visitacion hood of Frisco so I know a thing or two about high crime so it’s an apples to oranges comparison. Pittsburg is a beautiful lil town with good people & very low crime. No big city crime here. Come see for yourself it’s a great place to start a family & spend your life here. Go Pirates

    As a local, born and raised here, I appreciate the nice things you've said about the town. But we really cannot afford more residents due to a few issues you've mentioned, I'll explain it through the eyes of a local.
    We've had a surge in residents from Oakland already a few years back, the traffic has gotten much worse mainly because we only have 2 exits leading out of the city, Highway 4 and Kirker Pass. Both of these roads are always packed in the mornings and no matter how nice the city is there's just no reasonable employment in the city and you will need to use these roads to work. For anybody watching this video and considering moving here, keep in mind you will be dealing with this traffic every day.
    In regards to crime, it has increased due to that surge in residents from the inner cities like Oakland, to the point where the sister city Antioch which is only 10 minutes from Pittsburg has seen a collapse in its Police department, resulting in homelessness and even more unreported crimes.
    Basically, you'd be doing us a favor if you did not move here, in order to help curve the increased congestion, crime, and rising housing prices that most locals simply cannot afford now. The city itself cannot develop fast enough, it cannot police efficient enough, and people cannot catch up to the inflation of everything including housing.

      I understand the challenges you face, but telling folks to essentially "go somewhere else" doesn't work. Every city in the state has to work on providing more housing so the supply meets the demand and prices stabilize. I also disagree with you about the causes of Antioch's police department challenges. The departments problems are due to the bad behavior of (former) officers related to fraud and sharing inappropriate communications. ALL cities have their challenges ... we ALL have to figure out how to address them. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

      its funny how you blame oakland residents like myself for your rise in crime, yet im not a criminal myself, its funny because in the news, i see crime commited by your own pittsburg residents and people whom were born here, grow a set and chill

      Trust and believe we living here at the marina enjoy the sites.. we enjoy the beauty of the marina but that's about it. I wpuld love to see him take his tours to city park, or deep in Parkside, or venture off to west pit old school areas.

      We don't live that glam trust me. We got shit to see now all the time. But it still the same marina end of the day it was 23 yrs ago I first moved here. It's nice to see developments but still they need to quit lying and be real to ppl moving here. Some of us rely on bus transportation and that shit is still once a hr after all these yrs. But they wanna entice fakes to move here, for what? Can we get the same for all of pittsburg please? Yall raise rent like it's a fad but don't seem to give a rats about us true residents fr

    Finished watching. Firstly WONDERFUL video. Really enjoyed watching this. Seems you included a lot of good information and pretty much accurately summed up most of the basics. There are a few things that would have been nice see. I might go over those now. Firstly would be fun to visit the various neighborhoods. Down town alone doesn't fully represent the full city. Specifically visiting Highlands Ranch would have been awesome to showcase the nicest (or one of the nicest) neighborhoods in Pittsburg. Visiting the pier in Riverview park would have been good. It's so beautiful there. I think it's awesome that there is the JSX airport up the road on 4 (< 10min drive). Pittsburg has some really great annual festivals (seafood fest etc). It's also worth a mention that there is quick access over Kirker that leads right into Toyota Pavilion (< 10 min drive) which hosts lots of incredible shows. (also the rest of beautiful Clayton right over the hill). I know these videos are not easy to make and there isn't always time to mention everything but I wanted to supplement a few of these things for anyone who is interested in Pittsburg and visits the comment section. Best housing deal in the Bay Area! Great video!! Thanks for posting :)

    I grew up in shore acres tell me what you think of Baypoint. I lived off Hill crest ave ten years ago but moved when I got the chance. For the price of houses and rent . Plus the traffic you might as well move to concord and get way better schools for the kids. We need wall street to quit buying up all the houses and turning them into rentals. It’s getting ridiculous.

  • @1lovebaybee
    @1lovebaybee 4 місяці тому +2

    Yeah as a resident here. The cost of living is becoming too high for us real residents. The implants can go back to the greater bay area. Living in Apts my rent has gone up almost 1000 in 3 yrs bc the fair market value slots this nonsense. It's a beautiful place to live. But they are doing all this for show without addressing the ongoing issues of the traffic on railroad do to the all new developments but lack of real solutions for commuting. We have the highsch9ol traffic the stupid bart traffic, and now they want to build a hotel and another Starbucks? The streets and traffic lights can't handle all the congestion in the morning it's just as bad on harbor st too. Don't. Get me wrong it's nice downtown now to live but stop with the bc market value. We are not sf my rent should not be 2500+ for a apt here fr

    • @1lovebaybee
      @1lovebaybee 4 місяці тому +1

      And just 3 yrs ago you could buy a house for under 400k. It's still the same place to live but more shops, and bullshit things like bart traffic/high school traffic/ and the implant traffic that baught houses that cost way to much for the worth
      .and a bart that is only a commuter train. Its great to get to antioch but to get to baypoint bart. It stops at a waypoint before u can get on the bart train to the city or oak( yellow line)
      I'm really tired of california and the bay in general. For the price we have no grocery store near our area in downtown.
      Don't even throw the rip of Cardenas in that convo. Be real yes we got got nearby markets. But it's bullshit the price to live in a town where busses still run once a hr if you want to go further than the effing collage in town. On the weekend we downtown now have ro catch 2 busses if we want to go further than lmc, and no busses go to winco in pittsburg.
      Ohh foods co has all busses pass them. But they suck. Why on god green earth have they not figured out a bus rout to winco in pittsburg. Is beyond me. Winco has been there since early 2000s,
      You have to understand. It's nice to have more things to see and explore. But bottom line if your gonna start hiking up rent to the locals and not focus on the obvious,
      Then your going to have clap backs pf ppl who know what it's like day to day to live here and have had no choice but to deal with the rent increases, and bullshit fair market value of what they think is fair cost of living.

    • @RichFlemingRealtor
      @RichFlemingRealtor  Місяць тому +1

      You definitely highlighted the transportation challenge in Pittsburg. The bus service is very lacking and prices for housing have increased as people from all over the Bay Area seek affordable housing.

      @lenseofanomad I am a care provider of 17 yrs. My career is essential and my skills are not common. I'm a person who does total care and I am thankful that i have the skills ive got. ( TOTAL CARE NEEDS OF OVER 17 YEARS)
      You need to recognize that us essential workers who care provide are truly a essential need and we are on the same essential like teachers who are severely underpaid.
      SURE it's easy to rant what you did, but like teachers us care providers are with some perks but we are needed. Changing careers is NOT a option if your like us.
      Question.
      Would you turn your nose down at the cna who comes to tend to your sick loved ones or yourself who does it with care and turn to her or him and say what you said bc they are struggling with the cost of living?
      You cry about your sf rent. I could ask a similar asinine question to your . " How about you move somewhere else???" And my response is.. HOW ABOUT YOU MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOUR RENT IS SO HIGH? did that sink in? Do you understand the ignorance of your comment?
      Let me break it down.
      you making this comment collapsed on itself bc trying to replace my career is NOT going to take away the ridiculous cost of living skyrocket WHERE I LIVE!
      . If all YOU can say is find a higher paying job and YOUR RENT in sf is double and I should just find a new carrer then joke is on you. say that rubbish to a teacher too. Bc there are few who are like us and actually care.
      You bitched about your rent double as mine. But yet u had ZERO CLUE of my career. Ok my guy have your soapbox.
      4500 basic rent in sf??? Ouch. .. and your only response for ME to get a higher paying job... ok.
