Downtown Redding's Stunning Home for Sale! ✨
I'm sorry, I grew up in redding. I hate what it has become, I don't recommend anyone coming to Redding. I care for Redding, but not the way it's heading down. Anyone watching tread carefully when coming to visit.
Your video was good. I appreciate your approach & information. BUT... until we get the homelessness, drugs & crime downtown under control, it won't work. I literally walk around here daily & there are ALWAYS trash/drugs/homelessness issues.
I was watching videos about california gold rush and Sabrina carpenter. I guess youtube knew I would appreciate blondes on the rivers. The Algorithm knows. Thanks google.
6:00 the reason for lack of investors having to deal with city planning staff. Very unpleasant and anti-development. Regardless of pre approved area plans or not, and entitlements.
Great information!!! Ready to start knocking on the door.
The only culture Redding has is white supremacist church MAGATs!
Lived in both east and west sides growing up. I can't choose between the two. I sure do miss home though and will strongly consider moving back in the next year. I need Whiskeytown and Lassen back in my life.
is there any golf courses? i want a job my and my family want to move therei work in a golf courses so i want to assure a job over there
All this is correct it sucks
Garbage. Redding is a shithole
📣Great video Sister! Came across this video because I'm looking to move to California and I found this pretty informative so thank you. Also I have a question, do you think you're able to connect me with someone over in California for a job opportunity? If so I could shoot you my resume... I ask because I don't have anyone over there to do something like this with so essentially just trying to make a connection & network a little. To be honest any job will work as long as I can afford a 2 bedroom 2 bath small apartment for now to start off. I would appreciate any info or help thank you in advance🙏🏼✝️🇺🇲
Hey thanks for watching our videos. I definitely would say becoming hyper local on what part of California will be essential in figuring out next what job opportunities are available. If moving to our area, O2 Staffing Employment Services is a great resource for connecting your resume with job opportunities in our area. Hope that is helpful. If you need more information or connection feel free to reach out.
Excellent video Faith
Love this! Extremely well produced, impressive sound quality and amazingly highlights Redding :)
I grew up way out Placer Rd. near Clear Creek. My brother's best childhood friend was a real estate agent who lived in one of the neighborhoods of Mary Lake... For many years, during the summertime the only place in town that ever saw gridlock was the corner of Cypress Ave. and Hilltop Dr. That was/is due to there being at the time gas stations on all four corners. It's also right off I-5 so the out-of-towners in RVs and those pulling boats, campers, and other trailers, made their stops there- Additionally, any kind of restaurant and fast food anything else necessary. Yes, Holiday Market has a great deli!
Wow what a trip back memory lane. Thanks for watching and chiming in on your insight of our ever growing area.
My grandmother grew up in Redding
It's a conservative area. The people are friendly and helpful. My son from LA was here and he was amazed at the number of people offering help us load at the Home Depot parking lot. Shopping for food, people going the other way in the isle would say "Hi". Stunning for a guy coming from a place where looking at somebody could get you shot. California has many places that embrace left wing ideas. If that is what you like, please go there. Most folks here have traditional values. Don't come here and try to change it into the hell hole you just escaped from.
You are right in that our area tends to be more conservative based on the voting data. I definitely love how our area is a bit more of a small town feel where people love supporting other locals and helping them win. We do definitely have a sense of community here because of that.
Born and lived in Redding area for 60yrs , you definitely need a motor vehicle. Weather can get extreme. This isn't Florida.
Wow 60 years that is great! I'm sure you have watched a lot change. Yeah weather can be a bit extreme here in the summer. I would say this summer was pretty brutal compared to last summer being more enjoyable.
105F all summer long. !
Great videos, good job. Keep it up!
How to find out safest/ most family friendly zip Codes?
And for all the thousands upon thousands of people that live outside the city, there's basically no parking.
Open carry gun nut weirdos. Keep out of Redding.
Don't forget whiskey town park where it cost $25 with no day pass to park . And your windows will get smashed out from tweekers on rt 299.
Redding for trump 2024
YES!!!!
I needed this video! We're moving from Lodi, CA to Redding lol. I was worried there's no wineries.
That is so fun! Yep we actually have an about 5-6 wineries here. I have a welcome to Redding template of all the things to try email me at team@barrettteamre.com and I would be happy to send that over to you
Great video, I recently wondering how they tax you when you add a shop on the property. I always assumed they refinance the whole house and then increase your property tax.
Very helpful! Never quite understood the supplemental tax thing until your clear explanation. Couple of minor errors in your presentation - at about 1:50 you described the fiscal year as running from July 1 through July 30, and your graphics showed calendars reflecting these dates. Throughout the rest of the video you referred to it correctly (July 1 through June 30), but initially it threw me for a few seconds. Also, the old English teacher in me gritted my teeth every time you pronounced "fiscal" as if it was spelled "physical" 😬... But again, a clear and succinct explanation of a tricky subject. Thanks!
Thank so much for heads up & sorry for the slight mixup that created some confusion. You caught me a really late hour filming this by myself & my tricky fiscal word pronunciation really shined 😂. Glad overall it was valuable!
@@barrettteam I hesitated to even mention the slight mixups, but you have been creating such professional and informative videos about Redding that I figured you would actually appreciate it. Thanks for all your work.
Great to see some positive changes to our beautiful area. Thanks for the video showcasing it.
Redding just needs more restaurants
Reddings night life died when the Squier Room Closed 😩
So this is basically the controlled 15 min city, hmmmm very strategic people, we will rise up and make sure informed consent is advertised for the under researched. I also work with the homeless and projects in Redding and you have them living downtown in the new builds, places loaded with Disability and section * housing. This is not what they are trying to paint, Time to get involved in all the areas of influence and bring facts instead of facades.
They seem nervous
The town is a dump
Could you do a video on the current market conditions there? Great videos.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching! I’ll do one for a review of August once the market report comes out for our area. :)
Any street action up there
Not sure what action you are looking for, but no one is out on the street when it's 110f.
I live here for 13 years now redding is a terrible place to live only reson im here for my kids there are so many homeless people crime is outrageous the people are not friendly that is all lies drugs are crazy around here there are so many Pedophiles here so dont lwt these ads fool you shasta county sucks i dont suggest anyone mive here trying to be a mini los angeles
I have lived here my entire life & I loved calling this town home for me. Sorry your experience has been different. There is definitely harder parts of the area as most city and towns experience. We do have drug & homeless issues but comparing larger cities we don’t have streets lined with tents. Trust me I have a commercial building & we do experience the homeless traffic however they for the most part are polite, leave & go on their way. I also think RPD & police are doing an excellent job for the resources we have to continue to improve the area.
Fact check , If don't listen to these chicks , if you are a minority stay far away from the place , they only show the nice oart of town which is the tourist spot , they wont show you ALL of redding, only nice parts , town has alot of homeless, fentanyl drug rate is high here , you cant go to the store in oeace without being bombarded by homeless people asking for money to get drugs , its areas with garbage all.over the place , people drive around wirg confederate flags and stickers all over their cars, Redding is a racist (Red Town) town that worships trump, This place is Maga Corrupted , they interfere with your voting rights , trying to suppress votes because they are trying to get trump elected , this town manipulates statistics on yhe internet so people wont know the truth about what really goes on here , if your a democrat you will be put on blast and emberrassed in front of others , especially if your black, if you think your going to move here and be at peace amongst the white populus without Tedding police department racialky profiling you, think again, Redding Police Department is the cancer of this city, and this city will do nothing to stop it , 80% of the police department is comprosed of brady cops ,(cops with troubled history ) running from disciplinary actions, or police fired from other agencies , they are trying to run it as a sun down town,if you are black or minority beware driving out here at night,if a cop sees you , it's a wrap. You will get stopped for no reason, you will get fucked with, they may even use excessive force on you, this is their way of telling you " you made a big mistake moving here buddy ". You will get racially profiled , they have a corrupt DA office that backs them up , you will get dirty stares by some local whites , other whites here are very friendly. If you are homeless here , you will get constantly harassed by cops , But the worst thing about Redding is they have signs all over this place that say "No Room For Racism here". Which is a gimmick and should tell you if a town has to put up signs about racism not welcome here, there 9/10 is real bad problem with racism, beginning with Redding police Department , I seen a video like this 2 yrs ago which sparked my interest in Redding , I am an African American 18 yr retired military veteran , no criminal history whatsoever , bought a house here in Redding because it is beautiful , and I thought this would be a nice place to retire , boy was I wrong , for 7 months after I moved here after Buying property, I have constantly every other day been followed by police for no reason, after they seen I was black, until I realized I was being racially targeted by their department ,I would get stopped driving to get gas and questioned by police on " Where are you going ?, you look suspicious driving into a gas station , and leaving.". Afterwards having my vehicle unconstitutionally searched, and being threatened that " I better do what ever they say or else ". Dihumizing me then letting me go when they could not find anything incriminating , to the next day realizing I was being followed by a sub to my home with vehicle parking at the end of my street whoever inside watching me drive up into my garage , but whe. I get out to record they flip a fast u turn in a 25 mile per hour zone speeding off at 45 to 50 so they won't get caught, then seeing that it is a Redding police department cruiser , sick fucks , being followed every other day , them unnecessarily ntruding into my personal life because they want to know who the black guy is in their town , to them not being able to handle it anymore and stopping me under a bridge where they used excessive force on me after illegally stopping me once again for no reason,to racist cops escalating an unnecessary situation using excessive force breaking my arm , and violating my fourth amendment right to unreasonable searches and seizures. this was done shortly after they hot caught on national tv using excessive force on another man, this time they lures me to a secluded place where they wouldn't get caught, I later found out they began all.of this when maga took over Redding , taking over the political office here. This place has a place called (Coon Alley) this is a spot right by Mercy hospital that they used to push blacks they called "n#gg&rs". Or "Coons". to get them out of the town, So if you are a minority and you decide to move here just know that you were warned . I'm trying to do something that absolutely nobody did for me prior to me moving here to prevent me from buying a house here. If I knew them what I know and experienced now , I would have passed this town buy. I recommend Shasta Lake , Whiskeytown , or better yet Shingletown .
People moving out because the medical field out here is trash. Wait 3 to 6 months for a doctors appointment....garbage. ruins reddings abilities to become better. Not just my opinion. Thats a fact.
Way over populated homeless people everywhere geting worse by the month Plus agenda 2030 concepts going on.
Parking is really the big issue and the new project actually reduced parking spaces which is crazy! Toss in a massive increase in parking fees and it's just another reason that we avoid downtown. Besides a favorite burger establishment, there is not a lot down town! Also, the big ugly rust faced parking structure is a real eyesore!
Wow. Phenomenal breakdown of the current situation 👏👏 As a hard working family man trying to purchase a home, this really hit on so many questions and fears we've had. Its been a tough process and with all of the news about the lawsuit going on, it just made it seem more impossible to ever reach our dream of home-ownership.
Thanks so much! It’s super overwhelming to digest and understand if you aren’t in our industry so I’m glad I was able to ease your concerns. And if it’s helpful all buyers we got into contract since the changes which for our area started Aug 1st we were able to neoigate our service fee to be covered by the seller. At the end of the day, who you work with matters more than anything! If you are in our area, would love to help out, if you are part of a different area I’m connected around the country & have some fantastic agents I work along side! Send me an email team@barrettteamre.com
I was born in Redding since 1956. It changed a lot some good some bad.
41 year resident and transplant from L.A. This is a good evaluation but I would say the current political tide at the Shasta County level goes to the extreme right! It will be interesting on election night when it comes to certifying our election at the county level!
Yeah we are a bit of a conservative area for sure. It will be interesting this election how the data correlates to the last poll I shared in this video.
“All liberal cities are awful so I’m going to move to the countryside to get away from it. However I will continue voting for the dumpster fire brain rot that destroyed where I came from.” - Average liberal who can’t connect the dots and accept responsibility. Repent and believe the gospel! voting isn’t going to save this nation! Turning from sin will!
I was born and raised in Redding (Mercy Hospital- 1959)- Although still conservative, it has tilted a bit left over the years, sadly. Why do people leave cities like SF and LA for places like Redding, already knowing the political climate, and then complain?
@@BannerSound Things change. I feel Redding is much more conservative now or at least people are much more angry about things than they were. In fact if you look in the more distant past in Redding (before both of us) Redding had far more union jobs and the area was more Democratic leanings. Certainly in the depression and WWII times. I'm believe in the majority rules and accepting or election results! Let things fall as the may.
lol I own a nightlife company in Vegas so no nightlife is perfect
Yep most people moving here don’t want a nightlife like in Vegas. We definitely have options but nothing as extreme as a big city.
Interesting I was homeschooled also.. I’m looking to move to Redding to homeschool my kids lol
We have a strong homeschooling community here with lots of great resources with charter schools etc. happy to help out with your transition. You can email us at team@barrettteamre.com
More public transportation would be key. If Redding was smart, put in a light rail line that goes from the outskirts of Redding as well as the airport to downtown. Then there's less need for parking, easier for people to get to downtown and walk around.
Where did you put all the homeless folks? Looks like 47 cars per person in Redding from this video.
I've lived in Redding a long time, and I find this recap accurate and honest. Good video Faith!
Thanks so much for watching & commenting! Definitely try to keep it as honest as possible!
My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving from LA to Redding and I've been really enjoying your videos.
That’s amazing! We have helped a lot of families relocate up here & everybody loves the change of pace in life, scenery & the more affordable cost of living. Happy to help & discuss pros/cons etc so you can make the best decision for you all. You can easily book a consult with us if that is most helpful to you. tr.ee/eH2ohycw8j
You want to see a town that died just go out to the coast to Orick California
Where are all the people ? No one but these two walking the streets....seems odd to me.
that's american suburbia. The only people who walks around are either homeless or their car broke down.
We filmed them in early afternoon on a weekday to avoid crowds so that we didn’t have to worry about people being on camera, and additional noise that’s all. As the public market comes in & the growth of the future places, it will definitely be a place to hang out.
If you're a Conservative, you may want to move out of CA asap, because CA is sinking.
Our area is more predominately conservative so those who want to stay in California find Redding a good balance for what they might be looking for. Is it perfect? No but we do get a lot of traffic to our area because of that. Not a political statement just stating the facts of voter registration percentage etc
