I remember joining the gym when I was a very young man, I was skinny, uncomfortable, didnt know much. I was "shockingly" "checked out" by muscular "gym creeps" from day one. The horrific experience lead me to within a month having learned perfect form on most exercises, best methods and advice for most muscles and target, things to not do to avoid serious injury on some machines and the feeling of being understood, comfortable and in a place so many of these well developed guys had been in and understood perfectly. It was so horrific and terrible it kept me going to Gyms for the next 30 years. I think it must have damaged me because I even find myself giving unwanted form feedback to newcomers and people who seem to be learning, I find myself offering advice to people trying hard to improve themselves and giving some of what I had learned and been given to others, understanding where they might be add, in short these Gyms creeps turned me into a Gym creep. Its horrific and has to stop....

I lift in a gym filled with teenagers that lift like shit. All of them. Horrible form, all ego, don't know what lifts target what muscles. I struggle not to give advice, some have asked me for advice on stuff and the poor kids have to listen to me lecture them for about an hr. I just keep it to myself lol

I'm a woman and if I went to the gym dressed like that, it would for sure be to get noticed. It's disgusting how they treat men just for looking. If they are really there for the work-out, they wouldn't look like that.... !! Bodypaint covers more than their outfits
Yeah, it's funny how they all "just so happen" to wear the same pants-shaped bodypaint (might as well be), lol... Definitely the kind of thing you put on to blend in and/or if you don't care if you get attention or not. I have leggings but never once have I worn them as if they were pants. They were originally meant to go underneath something else, not be worn as-is. That certainly changed quickly.

i started to think how we could stop is "feral" women and i came up with a barrier that separates two sides. one side is the normal gym but the other side is for all the women that take videos of themselves. The normal side doesn't allow for videos or pictures to be taken and if found breaking the wall or rule, Will be fined and banned for 3-7 days for technological harassment.

Gyms in general were all male. For a woman to be in a gym was not heard of. Then women’s strength sports became a thing, and women had to train in the gym at certain times, only male trainers were allowed with them. Jump about 100 or so years and some women chose to abuse the liberty now given to them. Women had to fight for equality in sports. Instead of inclusion they gave us our own baseball, soccer, basketball, boxing, MMA and we are still working on Football (professionally speaking) leagues. Respecting people in the gym of ALL GENDERS shouldn’t be that damned hard to do. Someone called for segregated gyms, and I agree. Women that prey on men’s stares for views deserve a place where all of the idiots like them can work out, away from normal society 😒

Fun fact: These "Gym creep" tik toks are basically impossible to make in my home country (Federal Republic of Germany) because here it is illegal to film people without their permission. These women with their "Gym creep" videos would get sued into oblivion here. The USA should introduce this law as well

State where I go to this never happens tho I’m stared from girls every single day girls sit next to me flex for my attention and I never say a single word A SINGLE WORD NOT EVEN A SMALL GLANCE ! I'm guessing the 24-hour fitness is not a private business, because I've seen people filming all the time.
The only problem with this statement is. IF you own a gym and you allow the public to use the gym, then you are also opening up for the 1st and 4th admentmen which allows them to film inside the gym cause its open to the public. If its a private gym where only you and your friends use without memberships or contracts written then its true.

As a woman who wants to go to the gym and get healthier…. I’m unfamiliar with a good amount of the equipment or proper technique. And it really sucks with this trend because I’m worried if I ask someone for advice or help, they won’t, simply on the fear they’ll be called a creep. When all I truly want is help or advice

As someone who has been held up twice by knife, once in public and another time when a psycho neighbour broke into my flat I can't go two minutes in a public space without checking out the area I'm in to make sure everything is kushti. I really want to go back to the gym to supplement the one day a week I do Ju-jitsu but at this point I'd rather save for home equipment in the future because of all this shite.

For a year I was super aware of my surroundings but now 30 years later it’s less paranoia and more habit. If I may, look for various resistance bands for home workouts. They don’t take up space and you can make it as hard or easy as you like. You can exercise more muscle groups and if you’re creative there is nothing you can’t do at home. Took me a few decades to learn that one. And they are far cheaper.
Especially when some twitching planks are swinging visually inappropriate for them weight in their stubby arms

It never fails in so many situations.
Sometimes I'll watch because I want to use the equipment right after them so I'm just waiting until they're finished while I use something else. We can't leave our eyeballs at home. We should be vigilant about what is going on around us. It's essential to making sure we are being considerate of others in a shared space.
I'm fed up with this younger generation of men & women who don't want others around them or glancing their way. Grow a thicker skin or avoid the gym in general.

I'm with you 100%. The work motto we went by was to leave your feelings at the gate. I am fed up with these younger generations. My son is going to be awesome at not letting things get to him, but I do worry about my daughter. She's sensitive about so many things.

This irritates me. As a woman who used to wrestle men where I was trying to get a college scholarship.I never came in with a camera to film even though, there were times I was proud of my accomplishments. I wish I could have shared them with people at school. I didn't wear makeup, I didn't wear inappropriate attire I went to sweat, gain, & learn. I never mocked anyone ever who came in and had goals like me. Didn't matter if they were dressed in jeans or ripped shirts I knew they were trying to accomplish something. The only time I ever decided to look at people was for form or to talk to people for advice on how to make my form better, or if I wasn't seeing the best results to not be ashamed and see if there was something I could do differently. I was hit by a drunk and put into a coma so the scholarship never worked out even when going back to the gym I see these types of things and it honestly makes me so disheartened towards some human beings. Not everyone goes to the gym as a meat market. They go because of things they've once had and are now gone. They go to be free of judgment, they go to get to a spot where they love themselves again. So please be aware of what the hell you are doing the next time you decide to film and criticize or play victim to absolute nonsense.
This makes me sad, I started going to the gymn in the 1980's and things were so different, these women do not have basic social skills.
First you wear a TIGHT outfit so that you can highlight your butt in public, then the public reacts to your butt, and then you complain in the name of harassment.

i goes to few different gyms for couple of years but never met a man who goes to the gym looking for mating partner(as of yet). well, if its on the resting area it is a different story. one time I do get spite by a woman out of nowhere and I unknowingly replied with you what lady, with equal rights, I could punch your mouth right now and break a couple teeth of yours. then I move on without waiting for her reply whatsoever. some folks just ruin a community or other ppl for their own gain and feel happy and comfortable with it.
Most men go to the gym to workout, and sometimes they might try to be nice and offer to help.
They also look around in between sets because what else is there to do, are they suppose to just look at the ground all the time just in case? Meanwhile after these females are done they go home and post vids and pics of their asses on the internet, and many of them also keep OF accounts...why do they do that if they don't want men to look at them? If feel bad for all the men that they make fun of and the men that get accused and called names for no reason...they deserve to be treated with the same respect as they show everyone else:( 🥺😔

As someone who only has to be breathing the same air as a woman to be called a creep, i cant step foot in a gym without immediately feeling uncomfortable and turning back around. I usually only have to look in a window to decide if im going to bother even trying to walk in.
At my gym they have a strict no recording nor pics policy. You may use your phone to play your music etc but that’s it.
As awesome as that is and I agree, the constitution allows us to take pictures and video of anything in view of the public, so the only real option is to kick people that break that rule out of the gym
Due to the constitution, no law or rule shall infringe upon our rights. The only way to enforce those rules is to kick someone out if they break them, but it is unconstitutional to deny a constitutional right. As I said, people can still record and it isn't breaking a law but they can be kicked our for not respecting their policies

Gyms aren't public spaces unless municipal property. If you're working out at Planet Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Movati, GoodLife Fitness, and the like, you're working out on private property.

I had a beautiful mom and when I was a kid we would take walks together. Guys would wistle and slow down and literally yell things at her, she just ignored it and kept walking. She wasnt trying to humiliate them and she wasnt rude, she had a real self confidence about her. These girls couldnt survive in the 70's and 80's. 😂

I grew up in Eastern Europe and in the 90's I was a young teen.Back then men were really assholes because they will harrass women in the street, catcalling them,whistle,making rude comments and we could not say anything because they'll became violent. I was touched innapropriate and they'll pull up my skirt and laugh like it was funny,One time a guy came stright at me and touch my breast.For years after these incidents I could not wear skirts or short pants because of the fear that I will catch a crazy guy's attention in a wrong way.Jusrt recently I forced myself to put behind me what happened and now in my 40's i got the courage to put a dress on me and walk out of my house.These little Karens never encountered a real creep in their life and what they are doing to these nice innocent men is disgusting.They do not know the difference between a respectful and king man and a deviant one.

Another story is me some years ago in the shape of my life, well groomed, you name it, going with friends into the Club. I wanted to approach a woman, still over 2 meters away, smiling at her, when she suddenly started screaming like hell. Immidately some guys standing next to her showed up to either bring me out of the club or beat me.
I literally couldn't even comprehend first what was going on. I see if you don't like every man, it's totally fine. Tell him "next please" or something, but screaming like this can cost a innocent man his jaw. DONT DO IT.
The only good thing about this story is, that I am certain, it will come back to her. It's just a matter of time, when she encounters a man (or women) to teach her a real lesson on how to respect ordinary people.

Seriously though, if a man or woman is looking at me in the gym I’ll give him/her a nod or say hello (and I’ve made gym buddies by doing that).. I don’t automatically think the worst, because I myself glance at women and men in the gym.. How can you avoid it?? Your in a public space!! Not only that sometimes your just trying to take tips from other people’s workout or admire people’s form it’s normal because your all there doing the same thing!!!
One thing I thing I don’t like is the cameras, the amount of times I’ve had to avoid using machines because I didn’t want to end up in someone’s video. The worst thing I’ve experienced is being told to wait for an empty machine because it was being ‘used’ as a woman’s tripod to film her squats!

There's no excuse for men and women to be using the same gym. We all know it's nothing but trouble and anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
Many women like mens humility though… for example classical composers, artists, scientists who are smart humble loving. I like for example the classical composers of 19. century who always gave helping hand to other composers and became friends wrote many humble and nice letters to them, or were gracious enough to find finances for them to go to an artistic or music school, or university… and always spoke nicely about each other, because they knew its important.its very inspiring. Also current classical or jazz composers and pianists are very old fashioned with sense of humor and humility❤… some are on twitter…. Or also scientists such as Dr, Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Dr. Joe Dispenza etc… its worth it and it is extremely great feeling such great humble, loving smart wise and inspiring men exist and try to inspire the world, or they also had loving wives, daughters and sons who are inspired by them.

I deal with this thing called anxiety and it has a strange side effect of making not feel safe in crowds so I often look around the area to make sure myself and my items are safe and that has the unfortunate side effect of making me look like a pervert in the gym but in other situations it makes me look like I’m aware of my surroundings
I often get that feeling of being "preyed over" or "stared in disgust" when in crowd.

I simply replied that I would look at her if there was something to see and that shocked her and she opened her mouth and I added to her, close your mouth because flies are flying around. And since she was filming, I told her that she can't film me without my permission. So I will report her. And if she publishes the recording, it will be good evidence in court.

When I used to go to the gym before the pandemic. I was in the best shape in my life. But I still never worse a bra and skin tight shorts to work out. Usually sweat pants and T or and over sized T with leggings. And when the random guys looked at me or came up to me I never assumed they were creeping. 9 times out of 10 it was to ask about equipment or to help on form, which I really appreciated, especially if helped me from hurting myself.
I live in the Czech Republic and I feel lucky to say that the gym that I go to is amazing! We don’t have a lot of influencers (almost none) filming their workouts so it’s really chill and the people are super friendly and supportive. Great gym etiquette! Also, the gym has a women’s only section so if you are not comfortable or just want to be around women you can do so. If im not feeling like being around a lot of people especially when I’m on my period, I just stay in the women’s section and do my workout there!

As PT personal trainer who's in the gym 4 to 5 days a week I really hate to see people recording their workout. If I'm training someone I WILL walk over and ask that person to please reposition their camera. Why, I nor my client wants to be in anyones video. About 6mo ago the gym staff asked a woman to leave because, they got too many complaints about her wanting people to move so, SHE could record her workout. Ladies you have to remember the gym is not your personal space. It's shared by everyone who paid to workout in that same space. Also, I've glanced at men and women just to see what they were doing or say somrone was almost to failure. I want to make sure they don't get hurt or if they may need help.

I had a man stare at me in the gym. He watched me for a good 5 minutes. He then walked up to me. He then reached over and and and…. Pulled the rope down that I had been trying to reach. I did notice that there was another rope clipped to it when I came in. One of the girls at the gym said he saw me the first day I tried to reach for it. But each day I had walked away before he put his weights down and came over. I truthfully didn’t know he had been watching me. The girls that worked there told me, because I said I think the man that helped me yesterday put another rope on the thingy so I don’t have to ask for help or jump. They said yes he did. Gyms should make it a mandatory policy that staring or looking at anyone else working out is completely acceptable, and that by using the equipment there, all users accept this premise and agree to it as a condition of entry. This would preclude any potential for complaints based on 'looking' or 'staring', but would still allow for complaints about unacceptable comments or actions.
When personal recording devices are allowed, and the place is filled with mirrors, any actual or 'customary' prohibitions against looking at someone are utterly ridiculous.
