I stopped giving *'attention needy', 'validation needy'* women a second look long *before social media* was a thing.
Just *grew up and out* of being a *simp* years ago.
And it feels great.
I ended my friendship with my ex after watching some of these videos. I didn't want to give him the wrong idea that we could get back together. We used to talk online because of the distance, but I realized I was keeping him around for validation without realizing it. Those videos made me see what I was doing and why it was wrong. I felt really bad about it. I never thought I'd be someone who needed someone else's attention for validation. I didn't want to cause problems or hurt his self-esteem if he started dating someone new. I know not all girls think about this, but I didn't want to use him just to feel good about myself. It's nice to have someone idolize you, but it's also important to be able to cheer yourself on without relying on others. It builds character, and it doesn't feel right to have attention without earning it. Cutting ties was hard, but it was necessary because I felt he was developing feelings for me, even though I didn't feel the same way. I didn't enjoy doing it, and I hope he can forgive me in time.

Why not warn your sons and daughters about the dangers of so-called "having fun". The game doesn't change..only the players and POSSIBLY terminology.
