I'm curious and only asking these questions because I'm thinking about buying one of these today. If you had ordered the offset like you wanted on the wheels like for instance a 1"inch reverse offset etc wouldn't the offset of the wheels eliminate the need for a spacer. I've bought wheels that I liked before used and spent more on spacers and things to make them fit than I would have if I just ordered the wheels right to start with. Other questions, if you don't mind? Does the vehicle get pretty good milage with the new wheels and are these patriots to weak for me to pull a 16 for utility trailer with say some building material on it. I haven't even been to look at the one that's for sale so I really was just wondering if I need something more.
Ok well I took the spacers off for the same reason. The offset was perfect to begin with. I just wanted a “meaner look” decided it was better with out after the fact. Millage On gas didn’t really go down. It’s the same to me, and I drive like an asshole with my foot on the gas lol so it tends to empty out quicker, I can’t say exactly how many miles per gallon because I have not tested it and the car does not tell me. Now if you’re looking to haul anything, the mac tow capacity is 2000lbs. I recommend just getting a mid size truck that can pull any weight. I don’t think Jeep was thinking too much when building these. I enjoy it but I will eventually trade it out for a truck.
And no I didn’t put a lift kit. Wouldn’t want to either honestly. I heard I brings more problems to the patriot. Hope that helps. I just hammered down the pinch under the front fender to get the clearance and that’s all I needed to do
Chris; I’m going to be getting a Patriot soon as well; I wanna put a 4 inch lift kit with 32 inch Mickeys or Super Swampers on mine & then a Black Satin finish car wrap with a ceramic coat on top ( eventually - car wrap). I live in FLA too. Maybe since reading all your comments a lot of us live in FLA with Patriots we could form a Jeep club or something... anyways; I appreciate your insight & I’ll check out rest or your videos too. Thxs again bro 👍🏼
Cool dude ! Do good research cuz the only lift they have is 2.5 inches and to get 4” you have to lift the frame with some spacers. A lot of parts will have to change. But by all means do it! If you’re willing to work constantly on it that’ll be dope. Good luck and yea bro I’ll be down for a meet up if the chance is given. Go to JPATW on Facebook and we can set something. Thanks for watching bro.
Good evening I just want to thank you for adding the link to the spacers I have a Jeep patriot as well. And with me being in Buffalo New York I’m trying not to deal with the stock rims or of the tires that I have I think you
Good morning and happy New Year’s to you and your family. I have a question about what you did to your jeep. I have the same vehicle that I would like to modify. I am in Buffalo New York. And I have snow up here, I want to change my vehicle with a all-terrain tire and rims. Because of the weather conditions that we have up here. With you using the spacers for your vehicle. Did you replace your Lugnuts? And when you torque them down. Did you add Loctite blue or red to 100 foot pounds?
So I ended up taking off the spacers just so you know. But when I did have them I did not use locktite and I used the original lugs until I purchased some anti theft lugs
You should of re-installed the plastic wheel inserts and once in place, used a heat gun to soften the molded rubber and using a piece of wood, pushed those bump flat. Good job though.
Hey, thanks for that. Funny thing is I did that not too long ago. I shaved the plastic down and then we used a heat gun to melt it down. Definitely worth doing.
I never had a roof rack from any brand. I literally got a couple key mod bars cut them and painted them haha nothing crazy. But I no longer have the patriot so that’s about it with her.
Rey perez i went to 4wheelparts.com they have anything and everything when it comes to jeeps. Plus great prices and you can finance with them if I’m not mistaken. So well worth it
So I should’ve grinded the studs down a bit. But it wasn’t too much of an issue. Unless you’re keeping the spacers indefinitely then do it. If not don’t grind anything. Now if you’re talking about the wheel well, all I did was hammer down the pinch and that was it. No trouble at all
Nice dude! Go for it. I love my little riot. Go to the JPATW Facebook page. A lot of cool ideas and people if you need info! But if you do find a wrangle used for your price I say go for that too haha
hey chris, first of i like the look of the tires how they poking out but my main point is as i was reading thru the comments below, i want to clarify, so you dont need the spacer on the wheels? and it would still poke out like that?
Thank you! And I took off the spacers actually cuz I felt it wasn’t needed after I saw for myself how it looked. You won’t get the same poke without the spacer, but you definitely will get a nice small poke. I would say about an inch or inch and a half poke from the fender line (without spacer). Don’t get me wrong it still looks good with but I just decided to take them off. I hope this helps pip!
bro what year is your Patriot. I have a 2017 Jeep Patriot High Altitude and i wanted to put the 15x10 inch rims that I have on my 2001 jeep cherokee on to the Patriot. I was told you couldn't put 15 inch rims on a Jeep Patriot. I wanted to put them on with a 2 inch rough country lift and the tires I have on are 275 60 r15 BFG's. Will this combo work? Thanks in advance for any help
What’s up dude! Mine is a 2015. I have 15x8 on mine with 235/75 15. They work perfectly fine and haven’t giving me issues. I’m not sure on those tires entirely. My idea would be to try test fitting it in the rear and see if they clear.
MixTechTV the only time I felt anything was when I hit a pot hole and it was raining and the brakes locked but I was speeding lol. Other than that, not a single issue. I might depend on the wheels you use also.
do you need a lift to complete this set up? i was looking to do something similar but with a different style rim but dont wanna mess with my patriot too much but this seems doable for my experience level
Fun video my man! I got a riot this summer and am in need of some winter tires, which I'm thinking to just keep mounted on the stock wheels while I grab some bigger wheels and tires for the summer. thanks for the inspiration.
Honestly less than that. Atleast at the time. The wheels I got all 4 for $150 from someone and the tires were about $500 all 4. Spacers like $60. I’m sure now prices are doubled that
I really like your rim and tire set up! I have a 2017 2WD patriot and need new tires. What do you think about. Rims: Pro Comp Alloys Series 69 Wheel with Flat Black Finish (15x8"/5x114.3mm) With Tires Toyo Open Country A/T II Radial Tire - 235/75R 15 108S No spacers but will do the pinch mod.
This vid was perfect for me. Im plannin on making my blacked out 2016 patriot look a little meaner too. I was goin through these comments hoping someone would address rub, but i didnt see that. Did you experience any at max turn with or without spacers? Or when you hit a good bump? And you probably said it, but did you keep the toyo tires around the same size as the stock tires, or did you go bigger? Thanks cuh!
Sup dude! Glad this video helped. So I did go up in tire size. I’m running 235/75R15. But I went down on wheel size which are 15x8 micro comp pro comp wheels TM5s. When I had the spacers (since I took them off). I would get a slight rub on the fender well when at max turn. When I took them off the rub went away. But you have to do the pinch weld and cut or burn off some plastic from the fender well so it won’t rub as you drive. I haven’t had any issues since and I’m loving it! (DONT CUT THE PINCH WELD) sledge hammer it down if you decide to do it ! Hope this helps
Honestly I haven’t even calculated the amount of gas per miles. But let’s say I fill it up on Monday morning, if it’s not a busy week, I’ll be filling up by Friday if I’m running around everywhere with work, I’m filling up by Thursday
What’s up buddy! No I did not lift it. I thought about it, but I’d rather leave it stock. In the end 2 inches to me really isn’t a lift and it’ll cause more issues, as I’ve heard others encounter. But would be cool if we had a 6 inch lift around haha
i have the standard 17x6.5 rims on my jeep patriot with a 2 inch lift. im not good with tire sizing and what rims go with what but would 235s fit on my rim or would the tire width be too big? thanks!
I’ve just lifted my Patriot (2 inches) and installed new tires on my stock 17 inch rims. Tire size is 24/65/r17, i wouldn’t suggest going higher cause then you’ll run into figment issues and rubbing. But you’ll need spacers as well if you go my route. Hope this helps...
Hey. Liked your video a lot. Especially about the brakes. I think it's a classic problem for patriots. 😆 do you know how to adjust a new cargo cover to fit? I have a brand new o e but can't seem to get it to fit.
Love the setup man. Just put some TOYO AT IIs on mine as well with Gear rims. Went down a size to a 16 rim with a bigger tire. Need to do the breaks as well I’m having the same squeaking problem. Thanks for the video!
Honestly mine are plastic and have 3M tape on them. So it holds pretty well I’m sure the chrome might be heavier. But I wouldn’t know what to use to hold them on.
It’s just a type of braking system some cars bring. Instead of having rotors you have drums. The brake pad pulls onto the drum and that’s how the wheel stops. Just like when the pads clamp onto the rotor. Same method different system.
Zack Nemeth they have brake pads in the front. Drum brakes in the back. It’s a whole different system. But it has a pair of pads that clamp to the drum itself. If you want more info HMU on IG. No problem buddy I’m here to help !
Everything ? Well the wheels and tires alone cost me all together about 800$, the tires were the most expensive. Spacers were about 70$ for the set of 4. The new sub I have in the back (two 12s were pretty much free). The radio was like 50$ and I think that’s about it. Oh I got some new lights and light bar that was another 100$ as well with all the wiring. And yea that’s about it. It gets pricey but with the time I took to do it all, it wasn’t so bad.
Greetings from Jacksonville!!! Love the mods bro!!! Just bought a 2013 Patriot & was looking to lift & mod it something close to what you’ve done. The first two links however led to a dead end or “page could not be found”. The Toyos look BEAST MODE thoooo bro!!! Keep up the great content!!!
Thanks man, I know you’ll enjoy your patriot. Let me get back to you on those links. Maybe those items aren’t there anymore !! Thanks for watching bro!
how the hell did you fit 15 inch rims on a patriot, after going to discount tires and les wab they both said that wasnt an option since the break calibers are so tight to 16 inch rims
My 2017 Jeep Patriot High Altitude came with 17" wheels from the factory. Both discount tire and tire rack don't list them as a stock rim, But they are. I wouldn't listen to those websites as bible. Some extras slip through at times. Good luck guys!
Brotha! Looks dope! What wheel specs like the inch? I'm trying to spice up my wife's patriot. Also you think itd be better to grind off that lip you hammered down? Like the wheel well part behind the plastic?
Sweet, well I’m running 15x8 and the tires are 235/75r15. I would NOT grind the metal part just because it’s a structural thing. I doubt the Jeep would fall apart BUT you never know lol. So just make sure when hammering to go up higher than I did in the video so it can clear 100%. Also you don’t need spacers, I put them for the look lol. You can grind the fender well around that metal slab though.
I do not have skid plates and the most “off road” I took it On was for a bonfire in the woods down here which required to go through some dirt and mud. Pretty solid nothing extreme though haha !
I just want a cheap Jeep Patriot front wheel drive 20 latitude full size rim for a spare. Any recommendations. I’m talking real cheap. Like usually the soccer moms Love my Patriot when I drive by but I want ones that even nasty heroine addicts will call me cheap over
Great vid. I love the detail specs wise and the how-to! Have you had any turning radius issues? Is it harder to parallel park for example? 🤔 I’m due for brakes, struts, and tires and want to upgrade soon 😎👍
Thanks bud! I appreciate the view. In all honesty. I took off the spacers and got full turning radius back. The spacer took just about an inch maybe off the turning radius. Parking is normal, no issues there. But totally worth getting this setup. But minus the spacers lol any more questions feel free to ask!
@@crispedc Hey man. Very nice look of your riot. You had to hammer down that metal element in the arch to make the tire fit in with the spacer. You wrote you had the spacers taken off what about front wheels or back wheels rubbing after spacer removal?
Kelp'Cs no the drum brakes are not needed. I just changed the drum just because it was needed. You can just clean them inside and they’ll be good. But for spacers , no, it’s not necessary to change them.
I bought a Patriot, I get to pick it up in a couple of days. Can't wait to get it!
Nice dude congrats! Hope it does you well
What size tires and what brand wheels are those that is amazing! I’m looking to do mine that way
Awesooome

Zack Nemeth they have brake pads in the front. Drum brakes in the back. It’s a whole different system. But it has a pair of pads that clamp to the drum itself. If you want more info HMU on IG. No problem buddy I’m here to help !
If u remember how much did everything cost. Great mod
What year is your Patriot and would this work on a 2015 Patriot ?
Mine is actually a 2015 patriot lol
Looks so beautiful, have those spacers been reliable??
Looks good g. How does it perform w the mods you've done on the trails and off road? Have you had any issues with rubbing when you off road?
Greetings from Jacksonville!!! Love the mods bro!!! Just bought a 2013 Patriot & was looking to lift & mod it something close to what you’ve done. The first two links however led to a dead end or “page could not be found”. The Toyos look BEAST MODE thoooo bro!!! Keep up the great content!!!
Thanks man, I know you’ll enjoy your patriot. Let me get back to you on those links. Maybe those items aren’t there anymore !! Thanks for watching bro!
Me and my husband love the look!! Looks freakin sick! Mopar all day bro
Lol thank you!
Do you got going on love you videos
how the hell did you fit 15 inch rims on a patriot, after going to discount tires and les wab they both said that wasnt an option since the break calibers are so tight to 16 inch rims
I mean I didn’t get a problem installing them. Maybe the backspacing helps.. I wish I could answer this correctly though
My 2017 Jeep Patriot High Altitude came with 17" wheels from the factory. Both discount tire and tire rack don't list them as a stock rim, But they are. I wouldn't listen to those websites as bible. Some extras slip through at times. Good luck guys!
How much was the entire setup
With new brakes and spacers also , I believe it was all like 800$
oh and is it lifted?
love the setup. whats the offset on the 15x8 rims?
Brotha!
@@crispedc sounds good brotha! Take care stay safe!
I know it’s a year old video but, your RIOT looks sick! I’ve got a black 2016 Riot and looking for ways to change it up. Thanks for the video Bro!
I’m glad you liked it bro! The riot still here lol I’m seeing what I get next that’s bigger lol
What year 2014 ?
2015!
Looks very good! Did you use a liftkit?
Thanks man! And no lift !
Looks awesome. Wish I could get gear look that in the UK
Why the framerate is so slow ?
Dude I’m actually trying to figure that out myself. I filmed at 1080 60FPS. So idk
has this been lifted??
No it hasn’t. Don’t think I will to be honest.
Cris P no sits well on that wheel n tyre set up
I have a good car like this. I am from Ukraine and I love American cars
Awesome video! I’ve been looking into doing something like this with my 2017. Is your lifted?
Nice! No it’s not lifted and I don’t think I will lift it
Yeah I’m thinking about doing this too but with a 2-4” lift. Trying to view different videos before I do so.
cool bro! have you tried it offroad? do you have skid plates?
I do not have skid plates and the most “off road” I took it On was for a bonfire in the woods down here which required to go through some dirt and mud. Pretty solid nothing extreme though haha !
Cris P nice man! Good times!! I’m planning to get one but still weighing some pros and cons
If it were for me, if I was looking to go mudding and off road I’d go straight to a wrangler for sure !
I just want a cheap Jeep Patriot front wheel drive 20 latitude full size rim for a spare. Any recommendations. I’m talking real cheap. Like usually the soccer moms Love my Patriot when I drive by but I want ones that even nasty heroine addicts will call me cheap over
2.0
How many inches are the tires
They’re 235/75 15 idk how much that is in inches. But they’re below 30inch
Cris P are the drum breaks needed? Or did you just need them to use the spacers
Kelp'Cs no the drum brakes are not needed. I just changed the drum just because it was needed. You can just clean them inside and they’ll be good. But for spacers , no, it’s not necessary to change them.
Can you do mine next please? :)
Great job, man, but please, next time buy a hand-stick for your phone, cause i almost through up within watch you))))) Like)
I suck at recording lmfaooo sorry for that 😂😂
I’m buying my first one when I get it I will send you pictures and follow your lead
Great setup!, I also have a Jeep Patriot and I want to mod it as well.
Awesome ! Do it, you won’t regret it!
