My opinion on this is that Nvidia offers more features for the enthusiast gamer and that AMD generally offers better price to performance for the practical gamer.
Not sure I 100% agree with this. All the features Nvidia offer, are to reduce image quality or increase latency, for more FPS. Not sure those are enthusiast features.
@@TheRealMafoothe features you mentioned would only be really utilized on performance heavy gaming; 4K and high frames with ray tracing. Which I think most people correlate with enthusiasts. Something most gamers don’t need, who are from the low to mid budget ranges. I acknowledge that NVIDIA excels in the high end budget gpu niche, although personally I believe AMD dominates in the budget to mid range graphics cards
Not entirely so... How is DLSS, Reflex, Hairworks, PhysX, etc. not for practical or all gamers. Some basic features and DLSS is probably better for more budget gamers. Practical for those that need more fps in online games. CUDA, Ray Tracing, etc. is for enthusiasts. Nvidia gives the best of both worlds, it just costs extra. AMD offers similar, not as good features but are a much better value if all you do is gaming.
@@CoulsonZZZAmd fanboy needs to calm down he's just saying nvidia has a lot more features outside gaming when amd is mostly targeted towards ptp gaming
Whatever Brand you choose, just enjoy it , also don't make purchases just because someone say so, i am on team Red but if i would get a Nvidia card my sentiment would be the same , whatever card you get as long it runs properly and do stuff you want it doesn't matter that much , in the end as long you happy with your purchase is all that matters.
My conclusion would be: For competitive gamers, AMD takes the cake in price to performance no questions asked. Competitive players don't need any of Nvidia's features like Ray Tracing or Frame Gen. For professional rendering and similar stuff, Nvidia still has way better support for most of the applications. Cuda support is coming to AMD's existing cards in the shape of rocM, but we are not sure if that'll be soon or in 2 years. In AAA titles it's more of a mixed bag. If you want to future proof for the upcoming titles, you need the VRAM of AMD cards for the improved effects and textures of the new gen games, while still being able to run slightly lighter Ray Tracing. If you're planning on utilizing all the latest and heaviest RT bells and whistles, you need Nvidia due to their better RT capabilities and Frame Gen to support it. RTX 4080 & 4090 can do all of the above though, but they're not worth it compared to the RTX 4070 and the RX 7900 series, unless you simply have too much money to spend.
@@Youngie761 I had a similar experience. Nvidia's recent driver caused a TON of multi monitor setups to flicker including mine. Driver issues should not be a buying consideration anymore, both brands will have them, we have to get over it.
I still have a 2070 Super and i think i may go AMD for my next card. I like the fact that AMD cards are performing really well at cheaper prices compared to Nvidia.
@@frwhof6723 I think this is true, ever since i have switch to nvidia 1060 and 1070ti from r9 280x. Ive never felt the snappy feel when playing FPS game I felt from amd card. It feels its really off or latecy input issues.
Been with Nvidia for every computer I've built since getting into the hobby around 7 years ago. Recently upgraded and went with AMD for the first time due to the significantly higher vram in my price range. The performance is great but the card runs significantly hotter and louder than what I am used to with Nvidia. Not like danger level hot, but still worth noting. Can't go wrong with 20gb of VRAM for under $800 right now.
Undervolt. Its very easy with AMD graphics software. Mine is overclocked and undervolted. It runs faster than stock and draws less power and never goes above 65° even at full load.
@@sleepingaides No, I play at 1080p monitor. Got a cheap rx 6600xt. Took me 2 days of testing to find the sweet spot. Memory runs +240mhz from stock with fast timings. Max frequency at a little over +100 from the advertised boost clock. And undervolted at 1125. Adjusted fan curve to run 70% when it reaches 60°. And it only goes above 60 very rarely and maxes at 65. I could probably squeeze out a little more overclock but i prefer undervolted and run cool with less power draw.
Yea you gotta undetvolt them, and it’s super easy there are plenty of guides in how to do it. You’ll get the same or better performance for way less heat, fan speed and power.
I'm actually building a new PC this week (Ryzen 7800X3D), and I've been finding your vids top notch for information, especially since these last couple months have been crazy for price cuts. However I might stick with my old GPU for 2 weeks or so because Prime Day is just around the corner, and I might get a bargain.
@@sol-hb8zg i dunno, with cars you can get it checked out and if you know what you're looking for then you can get a good purchase. Generally can't test a GPU before buying or watch a stress test for a few hours etc. I feel like used PC parts especially is a bit of a minefield
@@skyskitchen7872 yeha there are abusing the fact that no other gpu brand/technology can compete with them sadly , especially when amd gpus are so bad when it comes to streaming :/
Just now building my first pc after having three Mac’s. Got a 7900 XT for $640.00. Seemed like great price for performance value. Last time I had a pc was in 2001 with a Radeon 7500.
Both are good. As a consumer, it excites me whenever i am seeing a good competition. You wil never go wrong either way. It's up to you if wanna choose: AMD - Raw performance and for longevity since higher vrams. Nvidia - Power efficiency and software gimmicks.
Can’t go wrong with Nvidia or AMD. It’s just depends if you want RT or not. But for me going with a 5800x3d and a 6950xt I saved a good chunk of change. And these days that’s most important.
AMD is still very good in second place. It's not like you're going to look at the image you get or the average gameplay experience and walk away thinking it was awful. Yes, Nvidia is currently the best, but AMD is almost as good for less money.
The pc I'm watching this on has a gtx 970. I bought a 7900 XT and am going to build a PC this week for myself. I think the performace increase will be something like 800% or more and that's on 1440p. I'm now using 1080p. This pc has served me for 10 years no problem and I'm giving it away to someone I know who is crazy about minecraft. This pc runs even heavily modded minecraft well till this day.
Brother, I'm getting my 4060 ti next week from my old ass 970! This card seriously is amazing for how long it's lasted, it can play games pretty well too, at least on 1080p/1440p, but it's definitely showing its age now. I hope you enjoy the new card though! It should be an amazing upgrade.
@@EpicgamerRehanPOG2000 it's amazing to make such a big upgrade at once. But if you wanna laugh I got this pc and 1 month later I didn't have any time to play videogames anymore(in a good way) 😅
I'm currently on team Red with a RX 6800. But my gpu progress has been interesting. gtx 650ti, GTX 970, R9 Fury X, Vega 64, GTX 1080, RTX 2080 and now RX 6800. I'm use to the pros and cons of both teams and will use either one. Both are good. (I also always buy used and just get the best deals I can)
@@MrNova-mf9qc I tend to use Ebay and have had good luck. Had one card that was a scam out of all of the years and ebay reimbursed everything. However, there is no factory warranty when buying used which can be risky. I also remove the coolers and clean everything thoroughly and re-apply thermal paste. So it's up to you if it's worth it or not. Some people say it's not and other are fine with it.
@@julian7531 there performance is very similar except the 3070ti is better in ray tracing. Both are good options. You can't go wrong with either. Also, keep in mind Evga doesn't make gpus anymore.
In that case, since there is no front intake, you are better off turning your CPU cooler around and using the back fan as intake. It will use fresh air from the back of the case as intake to feed directly the CPU. If you do that, offset the top exhaust fanst too. Put them as much on the front as you can, to avoit the most back fan sucking the fresh air in between the back and the CPU cooler. My CPU temps are way better now. Previously it was sucking the 400w GPU hot air and it was horrible.
I recently upgraded my RTX 2080 Ti with a RTX 4090 liquid cooled and I have zero regrets...the jump in performance is amazing. I didn't consider AMD when I was getting ready to upgrade due to my monitor being G-sync Ultimate certified. That's not to say I have anything against Radeon cards...I just always go for the fastest card available when I upgrade. The last Radeon I owned was an ATI. I do miss the days when the Radeon cards and Geforce cards would keep on upping each other every other generation.
If Nvidia would’ve released their mid tier cards (4070 & 4070ti) with 16gb if vram, I would’ve bought one a long time ago. There’s really no excuse to why they couldn’t release it with 16gb of vram. They’re about to release a 4060ti with 16gb, which doesn’t really make sense considering most people would buy the 4060ti for 1080p gaming; should’ve gave the 4070s 16gb and the 4060s 10-12gb. Honestly might wait to see how the 50s generation will look or wait to see if they’re gonna release a 40s super series sometime next year
@@xxNATHANUKxx same, thought about switching to AMD for the vram and raw performance. But the extra features that Nvidia cards have just appeal to me. Really hoping Nvidia comes out with a super series but it doesn’t look to promising, they might’ve cancelled that plan sadly.
@@mic_xyooj A super series was rumoured but I think gpu sales are so low and AMD are that far behind Nvidia there’s no point for them to do it. It’s rumoured they are trying to bring forward the 50 series to late next year. Im just gong to hang on with my 3060ti for now
@@Chaosweaver-1 The 1080ti is a beast. if you can, hold until the Blackwell cards come out or until prices drop. Other than that, the RTX4000 cards are amazing excluding the 4060's (theyre a scam lol). The only problem they have is the price and VRAM. It's highway robbery to charge 1200$ on a 4080 and it's not even the flagship card plus it "only" comes with 16GB VRAM. Personally, I think the VRAM issues are blown out of proportion. Everyone's letting a few badly optimized ports (TLOU, HL, RE4E) define the narrative around VRAM. VRAM allocation =/= usage. Though if you want the card to last a bit, I'd say 16GB for 1440p would be enough for the next few years. Also take into account consoles. They're the systems that the game devs optimize for. They have 16GB of shared system RAM and I'd assume 12GB of that is VRAM. That's a baseline for future games, but it's a crystal ball we're looking at here when it comes to future game's VRAM usage. It's basically weighing price to performance, but it's a battle of lesser evils here as they all have really bad value, even the RX7900 AMD cards. If you don't care about money, the 4090 is on a performance league of it's own. There has never been a bigger gap between the flagship card and the 2nd card on the line until the RTX4080 vs RTX4090 became a thing. It makes me think that the 4080 is only there to upsell for the 4090.
I'm planning to build my first PC and I was planning to buy an RX 6800XT for my gpu, however here in the Philippines here I couldn't find any. Should I just get a RTX 4070? or wait for RX 7750XT or RX 7800XT?
Simple fact 8GB VRAM is NOT enough for 2023 even just 1080p gaming! Do what Linus Tech tips advises, if you can't afford a RTX4070Ti and are thinking of getting an RTX4060: Spend just a little extra and get a second hand RTX3080 10/12GB for $350 which MASSIVELY outperforms even the RTX4060Ti, and which is STILL UNDER WARRANTY! They came with a 3 year warranty, so make sure you get the original receipt and as the RTX3080s haven't even been out 3 years you are safe! Don't spend over $200 on ANY GPU (regardless of other specs) which only has 8GB VRAM because they are only 720p graphics cards, which is MASSIVELY outdated, as they can't play even all current games as 1080p ultra without glitching!
So basically treat 12GB cards as the new entry level cards, and the 16GB cards are mid-range now. At least that is how it looks. 8GB are now the super entry level cards for low end pre-made machines aimed at people that do not know any better. Though, I am sure 8GB are just fine for people playing older games and not worried about newer games.
I am building a 7800x3d system also and just got a killer deal during the weird $100 off day for a 7900xtx (battle between NewEgg and Amazon) and the new card should arrive today. Every part I purchased for my new build was a deal on sale (even Win11Pro for $23 from TechSpot yesterday), my overall build savings is $621 including two free games. Additionally, I cannot stand the lack of ethics or customer orientation by nVidia (though I admit the MSI 4090 AIO was tempting). I also want to see if the 7990xtx with an AIO materializes this year with 30% better performance than the 7900xtx - fun times in gaming!
So I’ve recently purchased a custom built pc with an i7- 13700F processor, 32BG of ram, with a 4070ti graphics card. Would you suggest this should handle any game at max settings on 1440p?
@@CatusMilkiusThe processor is more than enough, you could save some money on your processor and get the i5 13600k or r5 7600 if the goal is just for gaming. Those alternatives perform just as well for gaming but are cheaper
I've owned (recently) an NVIDIA 3080ti and an OC 4080. Few days ago, I purchased an AMD Power Color HELLHOUND 7900XTX (24gb) for just over $900 US. In the few days I've played it, it SEEMS to run smoother, cooler, (yes, the fan curve is loud, it doesn't bother me at all), no stuttering during gameplay, and no strange artifacts. It's just about right on par as far as frames go with the 4080. NOT worth spending 2-500 more on an OC 4080 at this point. Team RED for now and possibly long term.
Personally I've always considered dlss and fsr and such tech as cheating us out of pure performance uplifts from generation to generation. RT has felt like a gimmick to me as well, most games i either don't notice it, or i have to just carefully look at a scene and turn it on and off to actually notice much of a difference. While in the future its likely to improve, especially with path tracing...but that's years away and it really comes down to how its implemented by game designers. i just upgraded my 3070ti to a 7900xtx. love the xtx and considering the 4080 was $400(cad) more for basically the same raster performance it was a no brainer for me.. I'm hoping Intels battle mage will give both AMD and Nvidia a reason to sweat for the next gen of cards, but we'll have to wait and see.
Also i like how integrated the amd software is and easy to use. I can limit fps, tweak color profile, overclock, monitor temps etc all from one app and its easy to find ur way around. Nvidia can do mostly the same but their app is long outdated and also they need more than one for certain things. If they fix that nvidia could very well be my next card
As someone who likes to look at all the little details and has a card that can run it, i do enjoy RT in a lot of games. I just can't justify spending over 1000$+ and not care about the RT performance. It starts to really matter at this price point.
I'm in the midst of building a brand new pc and I personally am going with nvidia just because they offer better ray tracing. I personally want my games to look the best they can and I'm also shopping at a higher pricepoint, but I'd argue that if you're not a ray tracing junkie and you're shopping at the mid tier then go AMD because they do offer better value for money
I just got a video card, and I had the option of the 7900xt or the 4070ti for the same price. For me, I went with the 7900xt. The reason, is VRam. It the moment, I have a 3070, and I am playing Diablo 4. I have to get the settings all the way down, to where I am only using about 70% of the performance of the card, to get to to not be a studdering mess due to VRam limits. A 3060 with 12 gig of VRAM, out performes the 3070 8Gig, in that game. So to me, the 5% boots in FPS of the 4070TI, does not make up for the massive lack of VRam
I just got a few Months ago, an XFX 6800XT for $530, back before the Price Drops happened.... Came with Last of Us Part I, so TECHNICALLY, it was Under $500 in the end... This is Backed by the 5800X3D I got about a Month before that for Under $300 and picked up and X570S MSI Board for that... Motherboard was $160 Used on Amazon, X3D was new from Microcenter here in the US, and the XFX is also Brand New....
For pure rasterization gaming performance? AMD offers better value. For RT gaming performance, upscailing performance, video editing, 3D modeling, AI generation, and everything else nVidia by a WIDE mile.
I purchased my 2080 TI within the first few months of release. I run a linux distribution of Nobara 40 KDE Plasma. Baldur's Gate 3 runs great on high settings and so does Hogwart's Legacy. I also play World of Warcraft Classic on high settings as well. I've had no issues with the games i play.
There's no definitive answer to that question. Both AMD and NVIDIA GPU's have their pros and cons. It depends on your needs and not everyone is going to have the same needs.
Was also wondering this. Nearly all other benchmarks will show/state 7900XTX above a 4080 or equal. Also since when is a 7900XT only as good as a 3080? That seemed the most off for me considering the 6950XT leaves 3080 way behind, and thats slower/equal.
Actually from look of it, it seems he's only used RT-Based benchmarks alongside DLSS/FSR.. Why? Isn't this video meant' to entail performance across the board?
Just bought a PowerColor Rx 7800 xt Red Devil and it’s been crashing constantly, I’ve attempted new drivers but still crashing. Any ideas on what to do????
Here’s how i would personally decide on what brand gpu, but first note that amd cards have better performance for price points and better vram for its cards than nvidia, but if u a single player gamer and want immersion go nvidia, if u play multiplayer only and want the best performance for ur buck then go amd. If u do both kinds of gaming then i’d go amd due to their better performance at price point than nvidia cards and u can still do ray tracing for that immersion, just don’t expect the performance to be as good as nvidia cards with ray tracing. Although I hear the 7900 xtx has some pretty good ray tracing for an amd card but the thats the only one i heard from amd with decent ray tracing. Just my personal opinion
I'm building a pc in a couple of days with intel i5 12400f processor and i do works like video editing and gaming. I'm thinking to take RTX 4060 ti or RX 6750XT so please recommend me the better one for my pc build.
So, to game in 4K / 120 fps pretty much the 4080 and 4090 are the best choice?. I have an Rx6800 and ive been struggling a lot with tons of crashes in almost every game. Im starting to feel im probably pushing the thing too hard so im thinking of updating, but im not sure if i should wait for the 5080-90 or just buy a 4080-90
@stephan4923 I think I found the problem, I think. The freaking AMD software comes with a feature preselected to turn off the fans and even when I turn them on, they usually turn themselves off every once in a week or a couple days due to a problem or something. So before playing any game I do have to open the software to see if the fans are set to turn on at a certain heat and if not, just load my preset. I still came to understand this is not a card to run 4K games, just a few. It's more so of a 1440p card and with that in mind it has been running great lately. I'll still upgrade soon but yeah, that's the update
My 2070 still seems to work for me. I think I've had decent value from it although at the time it seemed overpriced. But then I'm not chasing high refresh rate and ultra details anymore. I am very tempted to upgrade just because. Some games like Forza always seem to do well with amd cards so i suppose the games you play matter. It's probably between the 4070 and 6950 but I'm still researching.
@@sgarridojr yeah I think they still do ok. I'm just thinking of treating myself and my second pc only has a 1060 , so be nice to put the 2070 in that.
Toms hardware and pcgamer give the nod to the 4070. I'm going to have to look at benchmarks for the games I play. They seem a similar price. Also maybe the size of the card will come into play and what brands are available for both. I do like the MSI Nvidia cards.
Im looking to Build a PC worth Runing Dragon Ball Sparking Zero on a Cheap price I'm not sure to get the RTX 3050 8GB or AMD 6600 the pc im planning on getting is a Dell Optiplex 9020 i7 4790 32GB RAM any tips on my plan
Just finished buying and researching all the parts for my newest build and i think most people would agree they dont hold alot of value in ray tracing. Amd’s price to performance usually beats it ls team green counter part and as someone who doesnt really care for ray tracing i went for a 7900xt over a 4070ti/4080 for similar performance i am saving more money as I probably wont ever use ray tracing BUT even if i did want to the card is still capable of providing a very playable experience. I think amd is overall better rn compared to nvidia
So I just bought the Zotac 4070 TI Trinity OC DLSS 3 12GB for $729 on new egg during cyber Monday. I am nervous now realizing that 12 GB of vramm may not save me a few years down the road and I wonder about resale value etc. I've always wanted to check out Nvidia.
To everyone who wants to switch ... i did it and i can not recommend it because you gonna run into problems you will not have on nvidia like high power consumption on dual monitors or single with high refresh rate and video driver issues on games that are in early access or driver issues when connecting to a tv just as an example. And these issues might get fixed over time but all these i just mentioned are still present after 1 year of the 7900 release ... Just because these cards give you a better bang for your buck in benchmarks or fully supported games doesent mean that thats all you need to know and switch, nvidia in my opinion just runs way more solid overall and doesent need to have x amount of driver updates to work fine. I cant remember when i had my nvidia driver crashing while on amd they crash just because i connected my tv to it .... just a nobodys advice for people who dont want to have issues and disappointment after spending 1k on a gpu.
I had a 1080ti for 6 years, it was SOLID! Unfortunately very dated today, even the RX7600 almost competes against it for FPS. Now I have a Nitro+ RX7900XTX and have been loving it, I want raw power out of my GPU's, not AI, not frame gen.... I'm surprised that AMD have been allowing Nvidia such an easy lead when it comes to Ray tracing though
@sagnikghosh5386 AI only makes sense for games that are so thirsty that's its needed. Which for now at least is only a few. VR would utilise AI tech very well
can you make a video mentioning which AMD vs NVIDIA cards are equivalent in their performance? I wanted to know what are the best GPUs under budget. I don't have any interest in playing Esports. I will do casual gaming.
I have like a 400$ limit on a gpu i should get. Im thinking bout the 4060ti oc edition or the 3060ti oc edition. Which should i get or should i just grt a different one?
You Completely Ignore the Biggest Issue. Which is the Price for for Performance. Its nice that NVIDIA gives me extra Features to make Fake Frames to make the game look Smoother. But if AMD for the same Price Simply Offers more Raw Performance and thus Simply offers more Real Frames. Then Sorry. But NVIDIA can stick its DLSS where the Sun doesnt Shine. I mean no Offense. But Seriously. Why should anyone get a 4080 for 200 Dollars more than a RX7900XTX when it can only give You higher Performance by Inserting Fake Frames in between ??? You are basicly Just Paying for Fake Frames which on top only actually give You a Good Experience if Your Framerate is already Higher than Necessary anyways. Which is the biggest Joke here. Because if this would allow Lower Cards to Increase the FPS to a Playable Rate on Demanding Games I might even consider this a Plus. Because having a Game Run on 40 FPS instead of 20 FPS is much more Playable even if there is a bit more Latency in it. But thats not even the Case. If You dont get 60 FPS already then using this works Terrible. And while that Competetive Gamer would rather like 120 FPS than 80 FPS but if his Latency Suffers as a Result thats not gonna Fly. And if a Cheaper Card can give him 100 FPS but without increasing Latency then take a Guess which one he Takes. You also use DLSS on all the Benchmarks which basicly means that all of that Data assumes the Gamer is Willing to take the Latency Issue. Yeah not happening. So Yeah no Thanks. AMD Wins Hands Down for Literally everything here.
Having a hard time choosing between 6700 XT and 3060ti for 1440p don’t care about raytracing and features , the extra vram amd cards give seem tempting and the only drawback I can think on is higher power use and maybe temps
For budget gpus, amd is better. For high end, both are bad value rn. Nvidia has more performance on the very high end but is also VERY expensive which means very bad value
For months I still can't decide wich one is better. I own both a RT4090 and a RX7900XTX and I spend my time switching them in my PC (probably until I break something) because I like them both. I love AMD adrenaline interface but the GPU is struggling with heavy rendering apps and games, RTX perfs are monstrous, but I hate the control panel and the drivers seem to lower in quality.
Don’t get that predator Orion he plugged in at the beginning. Saw a video and the fan noise on that pc makes it sound like a vacuum cleaner/ jet engine
Ive had Nvidia ever since i started on PC, last year i got a 6800xt, i dont use ray tracing (mainly cause i cant) but performance wise my card has been brilliant, never had a problem with maxing out settings, with the prices Nvidia are asking for in Australia at this stage i will not get another Nvidia Card
im thinking of going with either a 6950 xt or 7900 xtx i do not care about AAA games at all love seeing these price drops though im waiting longer my 1080 ti is still chugging along
My hot-take (without watching the video) is that AMD dont really make sense, even if it's just for gaming. For content creation and gaming Nvidia win hands down. All the game devs I know wouldnt touch an AMD card for work - the optimisation for most professional software (UE4, Substance Painter, Blender, Marvelous designer, not to mention AI) is patchy at best. If it's its just for gaming, and im thinking AAA games here (not online competitive ones), then the PS5 breezer over AMD for price/performance. You can find a used optical PS5 now for like $200...it's an absolute no brainer over an entry level AMD system. This AMD GPU popularity is a totally false economy, and I suspect is just for people with more money than sense, or perhaps for competitive gamers (but if you're actualy a succesful competitive gamer, then you wouldnt care about price/performrance and just get the best card out ... which is Nvidia). The only products AMD are good are their CPU line. Absolutely incredible what theyve done in that space, but their GPU's just dont make any sense.
FSR, FG, DLSS should never be a reason for whay we should buy a graphics card neither should these greedy corporates make it as if its an "amazing, cutting edge" technology that we should base our opinion when it comes to choose which kind or version of cards we should buy, we need to make sure that these companies understand that this technology should be only consider for ppl with low-end graphics card whom cant efford a high-end one, we must make them focus on giving us cards with upgraded raw power and implement DLSS, FSR and Frame-gen just as a gimmicky feature thats it
Had a 1660 Super, then switched to RX 6600. Changed that AMD Gpu after 3 weeks with a 3060 Gaming X Trio, like nvidia more. Imo its personal preference
I have a 3080 for 4k. I am very happy with it, but the v-ram just lacks. Games are starting to have a problem with it, so I just bought a 7900xtx for future proofing. I do not care for rtx and I do not mind fsr. I think i'll be quite aight
Nvidia hands for two smaller reason a really big one. - Better Ray Tracing Performance which will matter more and more as games use it more frequently - DLSS is better then FSR AND is the best anti-aliasing option available, or rather DLAA is. Implementation of both DLSS and FSR is becoming the norm in a lot of games. Finally Frame Generation: Doubling your FPS in games is a major affair, and with upscaling becoming rather common in games it is very relevant these days. I'd use it in every game that I'd play unless, sure the input lag can be an issue, but it's only really relevant if you're really pushing for it as a competitive gamer. Though I have to wonder how someone's performance would compare between 60 FPS in CoD with Frame Gen OFF vs 120 FPS with it on but with 20 MS added.
I have an RTX 2070 right now & personally I don’t think I would choose AMD for my next build. I just care too much about Ray Tracing & FSR’s image quality is too lacklustre for me to be willing to give up DLSS. Intel on the other hand… that might make me consider jumping ship from Nvidia. XeSS seems to look great on their hardware & their RT prowess is solid for the price points of their cards. It also helps that their GPUs seem to run COD & FFXIV (my main online games) pretty well.
So my question stands here , rtx 3070 for 230$ or 6800xt for ,450 $. I want to uppgrade from a 1070 and play warzone and valorant probably stream, but only 1080p gaming ?
1080P ultra settings with any enhancement (DLSS or Raytracing) can and does use more than 8GB of vram during use. This leads to textures not loading and stuttering. The 4060TI is a shining example of this and is not capable of running 1080P completely. It will never be able to run 1440P at ultra for the same reasons in most new games. Realistically Nvidia actually used to promote that xx60-TI was 1080P, xx70-TI was 1440P, xx80-TI was 4K, and xx90-TI or Titan was Enthusiast top of the line. Now though xx60-TI is entry/Medium 1080P, xx70-TI is 1080P/medium 1440P, xx80-TI is 1440P/Medium 4K, and xx90-TI is 4K. Nvidia chose to take this approach to the 4000 series and it is on them for making that decision. It has been known for over a year before the release of the 4000 series that Vram was going to be an issue with advancing textures, effects, and enhancements. Saddest thing is it is Nvidia pushing the enhancements that kill their own cards rastorization performance because of the vram limitations.
I have spent the last 2 weeks looking at which CPU, GPU, CASE, CPU COOLER, SSD, RAM, POWER SUPPLY, and to be honest it is driving me round the bend. I liked the white gaming pc you built but can’t get the GPU. I have seen so many things but then you go to choose a gaming monitor and you have gone over £2k which at the moment I can’t justify spending. E even after watching this I am still non the wiser to which GPU to get. I thought about buying a bit at a time and then building it. But I will be in a care home by that time. It’s either a gaming PC, new laptop (current cpu is a AMD A9-9420, fast it is not 😡) or a PS5. I am going to take some pain meds, got a bloody headache now. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫🥴
Honestly I've been rocking AMD GPU's for a few generations. My main 2 gripes with AMD is they seem to be scared to try and compete with Nvidias top tier GPU & as petty as it may sound their GPU PCB's are too freaking big. Putting a water block on a 4090 vs a 7900XTX the 4090 ends up being literally half the size of the 7900XTX. So Nvidia is much more SFF friendly. Being that I'm down sizing my rig back to SFF this plays a major role in the new GPU I pick.
I have a 3070ti in my htpc gaming on a 60hz 4k tv and Diablo IV can't run on it at max settings because of the 8gb of vram. Tried it as soon as Diablo IV came out and it crashed almost immediately stating that I'd exceeded the vram limit. So the 8gb of vram is absolutely gonna become an issue in the near future.
Im thinking about stopping with Nvidia because of how hard they push Ray tracing, worst garbage added since their attempt with PhysX which was just another variant of it.
As an amd gpu user .. I will stop buying any amd gpu until they don’t resolve this drivers gpu .. they driving me crazy .. black screen .. no signal .. fps drop from 100+ to 23 in esports .. I’m done with them ..waiting for my 12 gb 3060 to come ..
@@Muldeeer is too bad I can’t add pictures with frames drop in comment sections .. dota 2 cs go Warzone .. rolled back drivers .. ddu fresh windows install .. nothing .. screens turns black .. no signal the only way to resolve this is to restart pc and if it works you are good if it doesn’t .. need to reinstall the driver again
Since its my first pc and note that i have not even tried gaming ever in my life(except for that one match of valorant in my friends house) i want to use ray tracing and at the same time i want the higher vram of amd, currently trying to make a decision between 7900xt and 4070 Ti and in my country 4070 Ti is cheaper and also fits in my budget so idk i might go for that, and also the cpu id i5-13400f
I'm uncertain about the sources of your benchmarks, but from the comparisons I’ve observed between the 7900 XTX and the 4080 on Google, the former seems to outperform the latter in nearly every game. I've reviewed the first four or five benchmarks, and this has been consistent. It raises concerns about potential biases towards Nvidia, and I worry that this might lead to the dissemination of inaccurate information. Please ensure that you're referencing reliable and unbiased sources. :)
My experience when i use both of the brands. Nvidia is expensive when you buy it and good for the high quality graphics if thats what you seek for, but the high end cards actually do worse for extreme FPS games because most of us people still play in 1080p. Please dont buy a RTX 4090 and play old school RuneScape. 😮 Amd is cheaper when buying, but use more electricity so in the long run for some countries; you are actually spending more money in the long run. The graphic is always slightly lower than Nvidia by a few fps but it is definitely good enough for people who are estimated to play semi competitive, assuming that you join online competitions often. The small difference of fps is almost as if you intentionally buy more ram for the extra few fps. However, I think the critical concern that people dont mention much is that AMD graphic till this date still cannot be compatible to the many games that is out there compared to nvidia, where i think this is worse when the game is bugged because of the GPU. Just save the budget for the highest card that you can get suitable to your demand from either brand instead of the fancy RGBs that will hurt your eyes. Some people buy an overkill GPU but cant even afford for an OLED monitor for the awesome graphic, and all of these adds up to pretty much a waste of money. You will have a nice experience with 4060 with OLED monitor. Again, dont buy RTX 4090 if all you play is old school RuneScape and league of lengends. 😅
the 4070 and the rx 7800 xt are both at similar prices and are competitors accept that the rx 7800 xt has 16gb of vram compared to the 12 on the 4070 so it is a big tradeoff between companies
I am STILL waiting for a new build. Im still running a 1080 graphics and its getting me by, but I don't play any of the latest AAA games. I am ready to move to a full 4K experience but price and confusion in the new technologies still has me on hold. But, I am keeping up with all the information and hoping to pull the trigger one day.

@@TDremNo....that's rubbish...buy AMD it's better than Radeon
My conclusion would be:
For competitive gamers, AMD takes the cake in price to performance no questions asked.
I want to add: Radeons handle multi monitor setups much better. I discovered this myself after switching. Had been using Nvidia's for years.

@xxNATHANUKxx I'm still on 1080 ti but looking to build a new rig. What card would you suggest in the Nvidia line? The 4070 ti seems decent
Should I just get a RTX 4070? or wait for RX 7750XT or RX 7800XT?
just wait a bit longer on the 7700 and 7800 and then decide.

This is Backed by the 5800X3D I got about a Month before that for Under $300 and picked up and X570S MSI Board for that... Motherboard was $160 Used on Amazon, X3D was new from Microcenter here in the US, and the XFX is also Brand New....
This gen is either too pricey or not not much of a performance gain for me, ordered 6950xt for $580 with Starfield.
NVIDIA is easier to understand since Its just 10 20 30 40 and then 60 70 80 or 90 so simple
For pure rasterization gaming performance? AMD offers better value. For RT gaming performance, upscailing performance, video editing, 3D modeling, AI generation, and everything else nVidia by a WIDE mile.
AMD is cheaper
Nvidia is better if you want to be higher end chips, AMD doesn't make REALLY high end GPUs
4080 faster from 7900xtx? LOL. How much nvidia paid you? What else, 3070 faster from rx 6800?
Exactly lol 7900xtx is faster in almost every game lol
Your benchmarks seem very nvidia sided, i had 4070 ti and 7900xt pisses on it on every single game, there must be something you're doing wrong.
Probably has resizable bar off so no smart access memory for the AMD cards, Makes a pretty sizable difference.
Hewllo! Brilian videos! Questionm.
I play games and I'm a heavy user of Photoshop and Lighroom for photo editing. Which card do you recommend?
I'm an AMD fan but I have to admit that Nvidia is the right choice if you're not considering money.
should I return my rx 7600 and get a 4060 for 80 bucks more? the driver timeout issue has been consuming me since i build my pc
Just bought a PowerColor Rx 7800 xt Red Devil and it’s been crashing constantly, I’ve attempted new drivers but still crashing. Any ideas on what to do????
Use DDU and uninstall drivers. Then reinstall the new ones.
I noticed PowerColor tend to overclock their cards a little too high
only reason i would buy AMD is mainly due to nvidia’s geforce now, which can optimize games to be feel like a 4090 😂
Here’s how i would personally decide on what brand gpu, but first note that amd cards have better performance for price points and better vram for its cards than nvidia, but if u a single player gamer and want immersion go nvidia, if u play multiplayer only and want the best performance for ur buck then go amd.
Rx 6750xt. Enjoy great 1440p gaming at 120+ fps with no stutters
Depends what video editing program Premier buy NVIDIA if not buy a 6750xt
The dame i stil have my 2970 super, and at current prices I will not upgrade anytime soon.
@@sgarridojr yeah I think they still do ok.
I'm just thinking of treating myself and my second pc only has a 1060 , so be nice to put the 2070 in that.
I feel like 6950 is much better because of more horsepower and vram
Toms hardware and pcgamer give the nod to the 4070.
I'm going to have to look at benchmarks for the games I play.
They seem a similar price.
Also maybe the size of the card will come into play and what brands are available for both. I do like the MSI Nvidia cards.
@@letni9506the 6800xt is better than a 4070 not the ti version well cheaper and more vram

Just a question, can you disable DLSS or FSR or are they on forever?
You don't have to turn on - it's instead of AA
@@PcCentric Thanks :), I'm currently looking to upgrade from an old GPU so these new things are little confusing.
My rx 6800 has been fine @ 1440p for me I don't see upgrading for a long time, and even in the future fsr if need be.

VR would utilise AI tech very well
@sagnikghosh5386 That's what I'm referring to, there's only 5 or so games that actually require AI tech to hit good frames at 4K....
can you make a video mentioning which AMD vs NVIDIA cards are equivalent in their performance? I wanted to know what are the best GPUs under budget. I don't have any interest in playing Esports. I will do casual gaming.
I have like a 400$ limit on a gpu i should get. Im thinking bout the 4060ti oc edition or the 3060ti oc edition. Which should i get or should i just grt a different one?
I don’t understand 6:40. I am currently running a 6650xt and a 7700k pulling way more fps, I get 140 and 90 lows. What’s going on here?
probably because of updated AMD drivers so it runs more smooth nowadays i would guess.
and they probably have updated the game too and fixed some problems.
6700 XT is better value and better overall
6700XT is a nobrainer.

Saw a video and the fan noise on that pc makes it sound like a vacuum cleaner/ jet engine
yea i would never trust a prebuilt pc.
I got a rtx 4070 ti with amd ryzen 9 7900 is it a good combo
And AMD gpu would be better
Yes

The RX 6800 16gb for £390 is an absolute bargain right now. Stomps the 4060 ti.
How are you getting in with nvidia? Do you find games smoother on amd or nvidia leass stutterimg and fps drops etc? Thanks
7900XTX or 4080?
Nvidia hands for two smaller reason a really big one.
- Better Ray Tracing Performance which will matter more and more as games use it more frequently
- DLSS is better then FSR AND is the best anti-aliasing option available, or rather DLAA is.
I hope the future video cards would focus on native resolution performance/quality instead of DLSS/FSR.
I'm interested in single player games, I don't care about the fancy of raytracing but I do care about a smooth experience, which one should I get?
Hey! Do you think you could do a 3070 and 12600k pc build that is 1200 dollars?
I don't really understand, nvidia says 4060ti is for 1080px gaming but ppl are whining there's not enough vram for 1440p and 4k
The point is you shouldn't be spending 400 dollies for only 1080p
Nvidia graphics are easy to understand
AMD on the other hand 💀
I play city builders like cities skylines 2 etc rather than shooters . what features should I be looking out for when choosing a new card?
will a 7900x cpu be a good pair with a 7900xt or 7900 xtx?
Yes.
Need 16 atleast for near future
Im thinking about stopping with Nvidia because of how hard they push Ray tracing, worst garbage added since their attempt with PhysX which was just another variant of it.
As an amd gpu user .. I will stop buying any amd gpu until they don’t resolve this drivers gpu .. they driving me crazy .. black screen .. no signal .. fps drop from 100+ to 23 in esports .. I’m done with them ..waiting for my 12 gb 3060 to come ..

Why graphics cards doesn't have Thunderbolt ports?
The graphs you showed are pretty weird, ngl... 7900XTX slower than 4070Ti? lol
Why are yall letting the 3080TI out of the reviews?
My experience when i use both of the brands.
Nvidia is expensive when you buy it and good for the high quality graphics if thats what you seek for, but the high end cards actually do worse for extreme FPS games because most of us people still play in 1080p.
Please dont buy a RTX 4090 and play old school RuneScape. 😮
Amd is cheaper when buying, but use more electricity so in the long run for some countries; you are actually spending more money in the long run.
