      @jwin6960 5 років тому

It didn’t make it. The tree itself died as did all of the clipping we had put in the water. I don’t think the problem is with this video but more with the fact that we didn’t have an idea location to place them to give them the best chance. We ended up buying a new tree and potting it correctly. It’s doing fine so far and the cat now knows to find something else to climb. Thanks for asking!

A couple quick questions for you if you don't mind?
    1. I noticed that you made three cuttings initially, but only showed one of them going into water (along with all of the branches that had been removed from said cuttings. What happened with the other two cuttings?
    2. What was the end result of what was left in the water?
    - Would you say from your results that the branches are better than the cuttings for propagation?
    3. Did you/ have you ever used rooting hormone, and if so; how did it affect your success rate?
    Thank you!!!

    • @EasyPeasyGardening

      Oh okay, thank you!
      A. So the only method that worked was taking the cuttings and planting them directly into soil?
      B. The cutting that rooted in water and was planted at 6:36 did not survive?
      C. None of the branches survived, correct? Did you, or have you since tried growing the branches directly in soil?
      D. Would you say that branches cannot be used for propagation of money trees, then?
Thank you for having taken the time to reply to my questions, ma'am; it is very much appreciated.
      Very sincerely,
      Justin

I have a 3 ft money tree given to me by a friend the trucnk is very thick braid and I had to prune it as you did but I must have done something wrong because it stopped producing foliage at the top now they are all down near the base of the trunk. Do I need to cut the large trunk pieces at the top at a 45 degree angle to get it to start growing from the top again? If you need pictures il be happy to send them.

How do I braid my tree? When I bought it, it had 5 braids but they all died except one in the middle and it's growing beautifully. I'm about to prune it and grow the cuttings in water to get the roots started. I've been afraid to remove the dead braids because they seem to be holding the healthy part of the plant. So how do you suggest I proceed once the cuttings grow roots so I can braid them?

    • @EasyPeasyGardening

Yeah don't remove the dead braids. For the fresh plants, put at least 4 plants in one planter. Once they grow up to 3 feet tall, you can remove the bottom leaves and braid them

Hello! I'm happy that I found this video but I have a question about the money tree. I have one that is about 5 years old, maybe about 6 ft tall and it's leaves are beginning to turn yellow and falling off. What should I do? I was wondering if I could trim the bigger stalks for propogating or if I can only trim the stems.

Yes if the watering is inconsistent, it drops leaves. You can trim it down to a shorter height and propagate from those cuttings. Mine was about 5 feet tall, I trimmed it and now it's about 4 feet tall

I did exactly what you said but my plants did not grow any roots only root rot and died.. do you add anything to the water? how often do you change the water?

I didn't add anything to the water. I change water every 2 to 3 days. Try growing from a cutting, that survives better. Do it in spring time

What should you do if your money tree is still growing tall, and has green leaves but some of the braided root is brown? Should you cut the dead root from the tree?

    • @EasyPeasyGardening

No, don't cut it off, if it's alive inside, it may grow branches like mine did, check out part two
