Was disappointed in propagation videos until I found this one!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Very well explained and demonstrated. You rock!!
This is an honest video, other video-makers don’t bother to show THE OUTCOME in the same video (or even in a second video), but you did it without question🤗

Great video! I broke off a big branch from my money tree today by accident and I was so sad bc I thought it couldn’t be saved. Now I know how to try and save it! Thank you!
As a grower with a small nursery I appreciate what you have shown me here. I have only ever grown Saba Nut from seed. They have been a great little money earner for me this year. big demand.. ..many thanks.
Thankyou so much for this. Mine has been struggling and today have tried to re pot the whole thing (5plaited stems about 4' tall) there are no roots! Root rot! This video has shown me how I can hopefully rescue the few remaining leaves!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this! I’ve had a money three for 8 years now and I never knew it could do this! Thank you and please keep making videos!
This was extremely helpful. It was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for doing a four week check in, and letting us know how the roots look. I am going to do this to my money tree, because mine is not very healthy.

We ended up buying a new tree and potting it correctly. It’s doing fine so far and the cat now knows to find something else to climb. Thanks for asking!
Thank you so much for making this video. As others said, your video is so informative, I want to trim my money tree as it is grown out of control and is nearly 8 ft tall. I also want to propagate it as it is too big anyway. Thanks again!!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for😋 I was really so sad because squarrels broke my tall plant. I thought the plant was done. I just put it in water, I will remove the leaves tomorrow morning...it is very late now. I am excited, thanks!
The plant looks exactly like Malabar chestnut tree. Just want to know if both are same or different. If they are different, I would like to know what the use of this Money tree is. Thanks ahead.
A couple quick questions for you if you don't mind? 1. I noticed that you made three cuttings initially, but only showed one of them going into water (along with all of the branches that had been removed from said cuttings. What happened with the other two cuttings? 2. What was the end result of what was left in the water? - Would you say from your results that the branches are better than the cuttings for propagation? 3. Did you/ have you ever used rooting hormone, and if so; how did it affect your success rate? Thank you!!!
@@EasyPeasyGardening Oh okay, thank you! A. So the only method that worked was taking the cuttings and planting them directly into soil? B. The cutting that rooted in water and was planted at 6:36 did not survive? C. None of the branches survived, correct? Did you, or have you since tried growing the branches directly in soil? D. Would you say that branches cannot be used for propagation of money trees, then? Thank you for having taken the time to reply to my questions, ma'am; it is very much appreciated. Very sincerely, Justin
I have a 3 ft money tree given to me by a friend the trucnk is very thick braid and I had to prune it as you did but I must have done something wrong because it stopped producing foliage at the top now they are all down near the base of the trunk. Do I need to cut the large trunk pieces at the top at a 45 degree angle to get it to start growing from the top again? If you need pictures il be happy to send them.
That's what they've done they are all solid wood and started to bow out. My apartment gets too much moisture so I had to move in onto my porch so it would dry quicker it seemed to be holding h20 to long in the apartment it's very dear to me and I just want to make sure I'm taking care of it properly. I also need to fertilize it.
Thank you so much. What kind of soil did you use? Can you explain how to transplant the plant when it's root ball is big enough to be transplanted in a bigger plant.
I added one third coco peat in general potting soul mix. Just pat the plant out of the planter so that the roots are not that disturbed. Plant it in a bigger planter as is.
Hello! Great video! How are all those cutting's doing after 2 years? My money tree gives me so many problems. I just decided to gently clean the roots as much as possible and put it in water until new white roots form and then permanently into Leca. I've been transferring my problem plants slowly to Leca with much success.🍃🌱🌿💚
I have a question. So I dropped my small money tree and a couple branches broke off im trying to save the branches so I did what u said in ur video but was wondering if i wet paper towels and rap the branches in tham and put them in a plastic baggie will they root as well
How do I braid my tree? When I bought it, it had 5 braids but they all died except one in the middle and it's growing beautifully. I'm about to prune it and grow the cuttings in water to get the roots started. I've been afraid to remove the dead braids because they seem to be holding the healthy part of the plant. So how do you suggest I proceed once the cuttings grow roots so I can braid them?
Yeah don't remove the dead braids. For the fresh plants, put at least 4 plants in one planter. Once they grow up to 3 feet tall, you can remove the bottom leaves and braid them
once you have the cuttings indoors during the 4 weeks... 1) how often and how much water are you adding or refreshing for these cuttings and type of H20? Ex well water..tap water city treated with chloramine.. RO H20/bottled . and 2nd are you adding any fertilizer to this water
I change it in 2 to 3 days. I use tap water. I don"t use any fertilizer in the water. You can also try growing a cutting in soil. I have had better luck with the cuttings.
@@EasyPeasyGardening thanks. I just brought my plant in from summer, unfortunately Im guessing it now has some sort of bacterial or fungal infection from my awesome tomato plants. So i should probably figure out what i have before starting any cuttings from this plant.

I have one that is about 5 years old, maybe about 6 ft tall and it's leaves are beginning to turn yellow and falling off. What should I do? Yes if the watering is inconsistent, it drops leaves. You can trim it down to a shorter height and propagate from those cuttings. Mine was about 5 feet tall, I trimmed it and now it's about 4 feet tall
I did exactly what you said but my plants did not grow any roots only root rot and died.. do you add anything to the water? how often do you change the water?
