Learning to take the risks. I guess if you don’t take the risk to root prune hard when you need to, you will always have a tree that you are not happy with. Nigel, I always learn something when I watch your videos.

Yes, it all depends on what your goal for the tree is. It can range from a typical house plant to an exceptional bonsai, and anywhere in between.

I'm glad that spider-buddy is ok! That spider has got the right idea when it comes to choosing the perfect real estate for its home!

Yes, I saw it catch three gnats last night while I was watering the trees!

I read somewhere that the direction of the base coming out of the ground and the apex should be angled in the same direction, more or less regardless of the movement of the trumk. This is some sort of psychological thing that makes us feel at ease, rather than conflicted, about the look of the tree. I have sort of decided that this is a good principle to follow, in my limited experience. Just a though, as I watched you adjust this tree in its pot.

Hello Nigel ! I really enjoyed watching you work on the money tree, it looks great. Glad to see you working away in your greenhouse in January.

Hello J! Yes, it's so nice being able to work away in the backyard, it's a bit cool, but very peaceful!
Hope all your trees are doing well, it looks like only one of the Cypress cuttings is growing, the others slowly turned brown. The Kapok's are doing really well! Happy new year J!

I love this tree without it's leaves 😄 the trunk is so beautiful, it should be open to viewers, but big leaves take all attention to themselves. I say keep that tree naked 😆 I love to watch you work ♡

On my pots with cracks I use aquarium caulk and seal from the inside for it to hold. Just a thought.

I'm with you Nigel. Spiders catch lots of insects that come inside on plants. I've also had a tree frog come in and live in the house on the plants all winter. It used to rest on the dogs bed sometimes.

Trees that regularly grow thick tuberous roots can be hard to develop a radial root base, I had similar situations with some Brachychitons that I am experimenting with.

    Good day to you sir!
    Great Video. :)
Short question: how does the tree survive without leaves? I thought it won't be able to produce sugar because it can't photosythesize.
    Good day and happy gardening!
