- This video is not monetized, and all pieces used have been trimmed/edited/mixed. Four of the pieces were composed by Martin O'Donnell/Michael Salvatori (of Bungie Studios circa 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2010) for Halos 2, 3, ODST, and Reach (respectively); one of the pieces was arranged by Paul Lipson/Lennie Moore/Brian Trifton/Brian Lee White/Tom Salta (of 343 Industries circa 2014) for Halo 2A; one of the pieces was composed by Kazuma Jinnouchi (of 343 Industries circa 2015) for Halo 5G. I doubt saying these things will stop potential copyright strikes, but it was worth a shot... :P
OH MY GOD I FINALLY UPLOADED IT! That probably seemed out of nowhere, but let me explain: I completed this mini-medley over 3 months ago. This was originally going to be the one to be posted while I was gone on a summer road trip; however, just before I left, I convinced myself to take another look at Mantis/Walk Softly and the result became The Mantis Stride. So excited with that one’s completion, I decided to post it instead of this one while I was traveling. That began a never ending cycle where I would want to post this one, but have an idea for a new video, then I’d work on that video which would in turn postpone this one again, and on and on it goes (I swear, I should call this the “HuntTheTruth Effect” or something)... Anyway, after so much pointless delay, I’ve FINALLY gotten to uploading this one here!
Oh yeah, I should probably talk about the medley itself, huh? This one is a simple premise that kind of spun out of control for me. Unlike the other Mini-Medleys/Mixes I’ve done, this one is composed of several tracks that each follow COMPLETELY different approaches to the same basic theme (even moreso than Fireteam Osiris). Second Prelude is slow and smooth, but Ghosts of Reach/Floodgate is fast and percussive; From the Vault has a steady beat, while More Than His Share’s is more dynamic; and of course there’s accelerating pace of Scavengers with contrasts pretty much all the others. These stark differences would make it nearly impossible to maintain a consistent tone/tempo no matter how much I manipulated the tracks, so instead I decided to roll with it. Rather than treating this like a continuous version of the theme, I treated it more like a disjointed sampling of all the times we’ve heard the theme throughout the series (with them ordered so that there’s an overall increase in tempo as it progresses). Did it end up working? I’m not entirely sure, so I’ll let you guys decide that! Enjoy! :)
Also in case you were wondering, the layout of the medley is as follows: Second Prelude with From the Vault coming in halfway through, then Ghosts of Reach with Floodgate (Black Tide) coming in about halfway through, then Scavengers, then finally More Than His Share. As stated before, this ordering was more for the accelerating tempo rather than creating a single, coherent piece.

4:31 - The Indifferent emote. This is arguably the laziest design I ever made (where I just flipped the smile upside down). It perfectly matches my inexplicable procrastination of posting this video...

How many ways can this track be rearranged? Let’s find out! ;P

At 1:56 thereabouts, I honestly thought that it would turn to finale (halo 2), with a bit of tweaking, it would sound amazing! If it holds that note out while beginning finale, the harmony would be fantastic.
Micah Jones Yeah I see what you’re saying. That would be pretty cool. If I ever decide to come back to this project and attempt to make it a little more coherent, I’ll probably give that a shot! :)
Halo 6 soundtrack confirmed
josh11735
Dope and i wanted use ur tack for the film im doin
“They called it...Pillar Of Autumn.”
“Why was it not destroyed with the rest of their fleet?!”
josh11735 “It Fled, as we set fire to their world.”
Super Perfect Cell 3RBS but I followed with all the ships in my command
"When you first saw Halo, were you blinded by it's majesty?"
Blinded?
1:57 I can just picture a spartan 3 telling someone...
“This is how I survived Reach.”
so we meet again.
@@bigbully1277 *no*
I hope that if 343/halo ever get their head out of the dirt they make a reach 2 and have it be us still playing as Noble 6, surviving on reach and trying to get a sos out. the opening being this song with "this is how I survived Reach"
Every time i find something like this It reminds me the Halo community is still very much alive, it rekindles that fire and magical feeling I got playing Halo for the first time
Happy to have done so! Thanks for watching! :)
I couldn't have said it better friend, the dedicated of those who love this universe will never let it fade to time
Ever notice this is mostly the theme of the Elites, in halo 2, each time the drop pods would bring Elites this theme would play, as well as in halo 3 floodgate, the intro of the Shadow of Intent.
Ya know... 343 *or whoever is making halo infinite* should hire you.
I wouldn’t go that far haha, but I appreciate the kind words (also thanks for watching)! :)
My high school played a mix of halo songs in the pep rally. I know they played ghosts of reach and a few other soundtracks from Halo Reach and also a few from H3. I just had to come back to this remix.
*"You told me there weren't going to be any camera's"*
“And you told me you were gonna wear something *nice* !”
*"Folks need hero's chief, so smile would ya? While we still got somethin' to smile about."*
This sounds perfect for when The Arbiter meets back up with Shipmaster as they attempt to "stop the key from turning"
This gave me nostalgia and goosebumps, especially when ghost of reach kicked in
These are so god damn good, I seriously don't see why they don't get hundreds of thousands of views. Props to you man, please keep making these.
Fodge Thanks man! I’ll try my best! :D
Omg bruv this is my new favorite. Basically all of the Second Prelude sounding tracks. I love this.
I absolutely love this one. Really great job, it sounds amazing.
Devin Munich Thanks! Also Happy New Year to you! :D
josh11735 you too! as a matter of fact I’m working on a halo drawing ;) (using your music helps lol)
Holy shit this is amazing
Lol Josh at the 1 minute mark I Noticed the two melodies combined. You know when the first one is a more happier note, and then it goes from a major key to a minor key at the second melody? oh yeah, I noticed :))
Sorry for the late response, but yeah I’m aware of that little dissonance that occurs at that point. I believe it’s because the remake of The Maw section in From the Vault holds its final note long enough to be heard in the beginning of the Prologue remake section. In hindsight, I should have done something about it, but I guess it’s a bit late for that now... :P
Yo im vibing this is AWSOME
Epic
You know, this would make an excellent pairing with the second half of know my legend. Though as I'm no sound mixer, I dread to think of how to accomplish syncing that up properly.
Was actually planning to remaster this medley by adding Know My Legend to it. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but it's on the list! :)
@@josh11735 Yo! For real? That's awesome! Take your time! I'm looking forward to whenever you end up doing it!
AWSOME
seems like thyed play this if they did a compilation of the covenant looking for relics across they galaxy
I want this in an Arbiter game so badly, make it his warthog run (banshee run)
JUST PLEASE 343 PLEASE!!!!
2:40 which halo is that from? halo wars? or halo Legends?
The section that starts a little after that timestamp is from Halo 5. It’s a track called “Scavengers.”
@@josh11735 TY
1:10 I can't remember where this plays in Halo
The track is called “From the Vault” and it’s from Reach. It plays if you activate the Halsey’s Lab Easter Egg on the mission The Package. (Just a heads up, the way it’s used here is in a different pitch than the original so expect it to sound different than in this video.)
@@josh11735 thanks
There was only one ship .....
One? Are you sure?
Do under cover of night mix next please!
Julian I’m currently working on a different set of tracks, but I have definitely considered Under Cover of Night before (it’s one of my favorite CE tracks!). My main issue with it though is that (much like the themes in this video), the versions of it across the games are quite different from one another. When I get the chance, I’ll give it a try and see where it goes! :)
3:22-4:28 what’s the name of that one?
It’s from a Halo 3: ODST track called “More Than His Share.” It starts in the second half of the track and has several more parts to it than I used here.
Thank you 🙂
This is amazing!
How did u make ur intro? It is very well done.
Taco Speed Thanks! :D
Believe it or not, I made the intro using Microsoft PowerPoint (using a combination of stop motion and custom animations). xD
Np.
WHAT?!?! THATS HOW U MADE UR INTRO? Great job. How long did it take u to finish ur intro?
Taco Speed
The first part (channel name) didn’t take long at all. The stick figure at the beginning is a simple walk cycle (with only 4 repeated frames), the city background is footage I recorded from MCc, and the rest are basic custom animations (like Fly In, Spin, or Grow/Shrink).
The second part (selection screen) took much longer because I was trying to match it with the Superintendent ODST trailer (so the art design took much longer). Also I had to painstakingly move the text boxes around several times so they could all be equally visible once played.
:)
Well anyways great way to make a intro and thx for anwsering me.
Wow
Класс =) молодец )
Does anyone know that track that plays at 2:45 ?
Scavengers from Halo 5 (or at least part of it).
Lol, like the icon.
Dude I love your music mixes to death, but your video intro is so annoying. I'm really sorry but I just felt I had to tell you how I feel. Keep up the good work man!
but can u like list the themes for fuck sake why dont more people do this shit, LIST THE SONGS ITS NOT HARD
I do though. From the description:
“
In case you were curious, the layout of the medley is as follows:
"A Walk in the Woods," then "Lions and Tigers and..." with "Walking Away" (Brass), then "Heretic Hero" with "Zealous Champion" (the latter fades in halfway through), then "Released," then finally it ends on "Walking Away" (Vocals).
“
It’s not as concise as it could be, and it’s a bit difficult to find amongst the other stuff in the description, but it is there. To improve this in the future, I was thinking of changing it to a timestamp format so it’s easier to spot.
