It triggers my memories of beating Halo 3 legendary with my brother, took us a whole day. As well as the memories of me and a buddy going through the MCC collection on Legendary, we never got past 3 though, hoping to this summer

I loved the direction bumgie was headed with their last games, sad, desperate, etc.. It showed how dangerous the covenant really was. In ODST you could barely escape and you were always on the defensive. In Reach, even as you plowed down armies of Covenant, they would keep coming just to overwhelm you. I want this tone to reappear. Like if you agree.

Tyler Paraz it showed that what was going on wasn't a silly science fiction drama, what was happening was war on an intergalactic scale, one humanity was losing. Halo 1, 2 and 3 only showed scraps of what war does, Halo Reach shows us how insignificant yet impactful any amount of soldiers can be, and ODST showed what it's like to be a soldier on your homeland, but behind enemy lines

I remember getting this for Christmas when I was 6 and played through it it was scary but enjoyable, I loved it so much I remember when it rained I used to go outside and grab a piece of wood acting like it was an SMG and pretend I was an odst, man those were the days.

When I end my shift and the streets are almost or completely empty, specially at afternoon or nights, I love to play this OST and pretend I'm just other ODST, on other city, attacked by Covenant forces. Its beautiful and scary at the same time.

Odst jackals were actually easy because on legendary they had a repeating pattern of giving you a warning shot and the first shot wouldn't kill you but the second shot would which kinda made them easy to kill

I remember getting this game. My parents werent in the best situation economically speaking, but they would always find the way to make me happy. I remember being 10 years old and somehow getting an xbox in Christmas; I was excited, for it came with lego batman and this game: Halo ODST.
As my parents didnt had much money, they went and looked for the cheapest halo game, a franchise they knew i loved from playing at my cousins place, and found this. I only played lego because I wanted to save the best for last. As a child I thought all halo games were happy and funny because I only remembered having fun on multiplayer with my cousin. The thing is... My xbox was banned. Since my parents didnt had much money they bought it from a dubious seller. It was a boomer, but I thought it was normal back then, so I didnt care much.
A few days later I am home Alone, and decide to relax with finally some halo. I started to play it... before I knew it, 12pm, rain outside, and I have myself, a game, and a soundtrack that send shivers down my spine every single time. I knew that even if it was some silly music, or some silly character, I had an adventure to go through; neither my parents fighting, nor bullying of many sorts would take that from me. I had a place that felt good, a place where I could disconnect... finally, a place like a home. People put love into this game which is what got me through a rough time in my childhood, and Im so thankful for it. So i dont care if im just some dramatic comment in a youtube comment section, I care about the creators of this game. You will never read this, but thanks from the most deep layer of my beaten heart. Thank you. You make videogames love rather than a business. You make people smile rather than sad. You make people. You made...No... you save us from a sometimes rotten reality, and give us memories to reminisce of in times of need... thanks.

Joshua Amaya I have those same feelings I listened to this same music 7-8 months ago because I was going through some emotional feelings at the end of my junior year in high school and just listening to this I remember how I felt, and the sadness that swallowed me for a long 5+ months
Many say ODST was a cash in. It's not. Sure its a skin of 3, but they've done it in such a way that it feels like its own game. This game is one of my favorite Halo games ever, and I thank Bungie for going as far as they did to please us fans of the Halo franchise. It's sad that 343 has NO idea about what really makes a Halo game a Halo game. Hopefully they make Halo 6 with their fans criticisms in mind. Remember, we criticize a game because we love it and want to make it better! 343 should be listening to us, not themselves!

The game was actually supposed to be DLC for Halo 3, but they were so passionate about it that they made it a full campaign. It was also cheaper than a full price game at the time if I recall, and game with the Halo Mythic Disc.
Pretty good value IMO.

A lot of people gave this game shit and considered it the worst Halo game. This was of course before Halo wars n' everything else after it. These people hated it simply cause it was boring, and wasn't as action packed as the previous Halos where when to me in my opinion this game wasn't suppose to be like that. You where ment to experience the after math of New Mombasa blowing up being I believe the first city to be attacked by the Covenant, millions of fucking people died that day yes millions practically an entire civilization worth of humans gone in the blink of an eye. This game is an underrated gem.
Spauz You are so right this is my favorite Halo game after 2 and 3. The idea is your a lone solider in a literal dead city not knowing if any of your squad is left or if there are any humans left for that matter. You are not the unstoppable killing machine Spartans are your just a solider with your pistol and smg alone against a fuck ton of problems.
I have been extremely active in the Halo community and I STILL don't see where this narrative that 'ODST was the most hated Halo game' comes from. It has ALWAYS been well received and has almost universal acclaim from within the community.

I miss halo ODST so much 😭😭
I like the ODST suits so much more comfortable than the Mjolnir suits. The spartan suits look like a spandex/Kevlar skin with titanium armor plates and hardpoints, whereas the ODST armor looks like an EVA capable ACU with ceramic composite armor plates. The ODST armor also looks like it is more combat ready, with more ammunition and ordnance slots than its Spartan counterparts.
TK 421 damn, someone knows their stuff. Although, Mjolnir armor is not meant to carry that much ammo because Spartans can supposedly get more done with less. If that makes any sense.
It is always better to carry more ammunition than less. It is understandable to not have as much ammo because of the fact that you won't need much. But talking from second hand experience, things never really go as planned in actual combat, so having spare ammunition never hurts, especially when you do a unassisted orbital reentry like Noble 6 did.XP

One of my favorite things to do is to walk around late at night when it's raining listening to these soundtracks. It's so peaceful. I can't describe the joy that I feel from them. It really helps with my depression and anxiety.
I do the same thing, please be careful though mate! Where I live there are wolves and bears and curfews, oh my! Hopefully you live somewhere more peaceful and fitting of the music. I can't have both earbuds in when hiking a butte at 1AM cuz I have to listen for wolves and mountain lions and cops lol.

CT - 7598 finding the one single ghost in the city and going crazy with it, my fro NSA and me had a blast on legendary pretending to be a small 4 man squad separated from our team surviving out there, watching one another's backs as we open doors or access terminals, flanking and taking sniping positions, it was a ton of fun

H3ODST was my first ever halo and my god did I love every second of it. I really wish 343 would go back to the roots an actually make a decent game.

I don't know who will read this, but this soundtrack always brings all my emotions out, and I just cry for hours.
I remember playing the Halo games with my squad of 4 (not counting me), usually multiplayer, I remember seeing this one come out, and all 5 of us took turns one night playing this game. Drinking Mountain Dew and eating Little Ceasers.
And slowly over the course of a few years, I lost two of them to Cancer and one to a car accident. Then had a very brutal falling out with the last one, all happening before I graduated HS in 2016. It's been a very long and super lonely 7 years, no one to talk to no one to laugh with, just this pent-up depression that I can't do anything with. I can relate to the Rookie being alone, behind enemy lines, and afraid of the next thing to come around the corner. There were many a time I just wanted to curl up and die since no one seemed to care for little ol' me and there was no light at the end of the tunnel.
But since 2020, I got married and have two kids that I play games with to try and keep that little hope that someday, someone will come to rescue me.
Keep up the fight soldiers, the hardest part is yet to come, it may seem bleak now but every second you're alive is a victory.
I'm sorry for your loss ODST but we must push on finish the fight

All so I can give those two pure souls who call me dad an amazing childhood that was never given to me.
Lost my last ever friend on my birthday, and have been struggling to even smile nowadays, the only thing that was bringing me slight joy was a tiny UA-cam channel I was working on but had to stop for many reasons.

Abandoned mega-city. Swarming with opposition. Only a couple of magazines and a few grenades of varying types.... scavenging is a must, use the enemies weapons against them unless you find the military arms caches.... but rain hell on them anyway, like a true Shock Trooper...

When I was younger I hated this game, I wanted to be a powerful spatyan beating the heck out of the convenant, but I was a normal soldier, not a powerful armor, not super strength, nothing.
Now, I grew up, and played ODST again, and I really enjoyed the game because you’re a soldier trying to find your squad and escape, the same reason I hated it on the past.
Damn, now I want more games like this, just a regular soldier on the battlefield.

English isn't my primary language either. I'm Japanese-Korean. Also, I grew up on ODST. It's my favorite game because of how it stands out. Also, the Spartan II's aren't super soldiers either.

As someone else mentioned before me, the feeling of hopelessness was overwhelming in Bungies final games. So much more powerful than 343i's garbage cartoony game.
ODST felt like you were just a normal person fighting in the streets behind enemy lines. I wish they'd focus on the marines more in the games. Such an untouched possibility.
Even in the soundtrack it shown how dark the situation of humanity was, how they were desperate to defeat their enemy and continue to survive. 343 got all of this, and threw it out the window. In halo humanity seemed like they were in a dire situation, being slaughtered by this extra terrestrial threat. When 343 made halo, it completely changed and it seemed like even the strongest covenant enemies would get obliterated easily. I miss the times when humanity really seemed like they had no choice and were losing, now its just "yeah whatever just wipe out that entire covenant fleet not a big threat or problem"

Out of my friends, I was the only one to love ODST, hell it was the first game I ever preordered! they went on to CoD after H4 burned them and H5 made their wounds worse... I went to racing after H4, but always came back to OFST and Reach
I loved Halo ODST. I loved the story, the characters, and how it connects to the Halo trilogy.
Halo odst is the best halo I played, and the only ones i played was halo 5, 4, and odst.
He had it so good back then that great different games weren't as valued

Fun fact: When Halo 4 came out, for me it was the WORST Halo but after when Halo 5 came out, I was like "Well Halo 4 isn't that bad" lol but I still prefer Bungie's Halo and never someone will beat them
343 is the company that killed off The Rookie, made Mickey a traitor, made Dutch retire and turned Buck and Romeo into Spartan IVs. They literally don't give a SHIT about ODST or the fans.
Halo: Fireteam Raven (arcade only) puts you into the feet of an ODST squad.
I still remember getting hyped about this so many years ago with my brother and exploring at night when everything was so silent and still. Using your equipment given to you to see and firing at enemies sparingly to conserve ammo, games like these are so rare but when done right with a good combat system, story, and music, it becomes a beautiful game.
Loved the Studio Ghibli soundtrack vibes from the moment I loaded the game up.

These covenant think they can easily defeat me, but I would beg to differ.

There’s something so incredibly scary yet beautiful about these songs. The fact that you are alone in a dark empty city in the rain with enemys all around you is terrifying yet calming.
halo was the game that got me into gaming, it was atmospheric, and amazing, it got me to hear more music, the fan bass helped me find my sense of humor, to this day i can still hum the theme song of halo 1 by hart, the multiplayer helped me and my dad bond more, halo has shaped me from boy to man, and i will always treasure that, i wanted to make a halo game for bungie i even made a flash prototype at 12...but then they stopped making halo...and soon they got onto other things...i want them back..for one more game...pleas...let me fight on your battlefield one more time, bungie...

I love how halo 3 was all about how Master Chief is such a badass and then there is this... showing the true struggles of the Human-Covanant war and how just... how sad everyone was... Jesus.......
That game had oddly beautiful, and satisfying music. It really sounded like a mystery taunting your ears. It pulled you to go forward, and mystified you. Perfectly setting the mood, as you search for your fireteam.
The nostalgia is hurting so bad right now I WANNA GO BACK

Covenant successfully, both remaining on guard yet being so relaxed at the same time..
Rookie being silent and content. He had someone to go home back to, and a team to find..Damn good game for a damn good series
Imagine this: ODSTs in the Arctic regions of a planet fighting the Covenant. Their suits have an EROL White and Grey/Blue camouflage pattern instead of their standard EROL Black and Grey camouflage pattern. Their battle rifles are suppressed with toggled lights and blue laser sights. They drop a far ways back behind enemy lines and, because of science it would make sense, their drops through the sky would be muffled through the fast-falling snow. They arrive and form a squad formation. One of them has a suppressed sniper rifle with a blue laser sight as well alongside the rest of their SMGs, ARs, and BRs. They tread quietly through the snowfall to stealthily take out hostiles within a small, Covenant outpost.
*Armor is from Halo: Reach instead of Halo 3: ODST because of the better armor fitting and pocketing. Plus, they have armored collars and are more field military like.*

I for one grabbed this as my first "I'll work through the series to the end" franchise, when ODST came out it took me six months of constantly trying to scrounge up a few bucks to get it. I played it with a cousin of mine who is no longer with us. So this put me on a large nostalgic feels trip, remembering how when he came over we just popped in the disc and would play until 12:00 am.
I'm in love with this game. Amazing story, Awesome music and great gameplay
