- Dr. Lukin provides a comprehensive overview of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a widely recognized evidence-based treatment approach in psychology. This video, titled ‘What is the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Triangle?’, demystifies the fundamental concepts of CBT and explains its application in therapeutic settings.
CBT is grounded in the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that altering one of these components can lead to changes in the others. This therapy focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, understanding their impact on emotions and behaviors, and adopting healthier thinking patterns.
The video introduces the CBT Triangle, a key tool used by clinicians to help clients understand the interaction between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Dr. Lukin explains how this model can be used to analyze and modify problematic patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral issues. He guides viewers through real-life scenarios, demonstrating how to apply the CBT Triangle in various situations and encouraging viewers to use their personal experiences to relate to these concepts.
Additionally, this video provides insights into how CBT can be effective in treating a range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. It emphasizes the practical aspects of CBT, offering viewers strategies they can implement in their daily lives to improve their mental health.

Needs a bigger board and no music.
I love the analogy with the Input/Process/Output chart !! Thank you for this accessible explanation
The music overlay is a bit distracting
0:35 A CBT Triangle consisting of 1) Feeling 2) Thought 💭 then 3) Behaviour or Sensation! 1:07 Example for CBT Triangle Like - Fellint Scared 😨 or Anxiety 1:31 1:54 Why that Particular Feeling like Anxiety 😨 is happening with a Person 4:17 Here You can say Input is Trigger & Processing is This CBT Triangle 📐 & Output is certain Action or verbal response!

Could my anxiety and panic attacks originate from my very first anxiety attack? I feel like that first one was so bad that I’m now in a perpetual cycle of fear and anxiety over not having anxiety
Yes, one of the symptoms of panic disorder is being worried about another panic attack.
Can this be used in daily life ?
I mean , If I want to change my personality to my choice , I can either change my thoughts and feelings or start behaving how I want. And that alone will change me
You can yes, but you would have to still record your activities in a diary and give each thought, feeling or behaviour a score. Why, because you're gathering the evidence of your activities and your experiences and it should give you an idea of where something needs to be adjusted. If you struggle to change your thoughts, you can start by changing your behaviour by doing behavioural experiments which will also change your thoughts and feelings. Usually changing a behaviour does have a long lasting change than compared to just changing your thoughts alone.
what is a feeling if not a thought or bodily sensation?
If you're talking emotional feelings then yes CBT can help you to change that.
It is a subjective sense and experience that is qualitatively different from a thought and a pure body sensation
