Oh, Maya! Helping Kids With Their Anxiety
This is not the EMDR I experienced. I do not mean any disrespect at all. I am inclined to believe what I see here has an effect, but... it's very tame, and rudimentary compared to what I experienced before I even knew what EMDR was. 15+ years of software architecting, engineering, and coding + surviving more than one too many violent crimes = EMDR at levels that make this session look like a prep course, before the real thing. Again, no offense. What I have alone, without the help of a center like this, would likely be less effective. But once I find someone to work beside, I will be able to share what was my Francine Shapiro moment.
How can this help for Misophonia? Can you recommend anyone in the Chicago area to help with that therapy?

This has been such a huge help for myself and my clients. Especially working with sight impared clients the tapping works so well.
This is all so true and whatever method you talked about it’s a true method and trully work, Iam a proof of it ❤, I’ve done this method of determination, didn’t even thought it was a thing and I am free from OCD for more than 20 years now, Iam glad I decided to walk away from this anxiety, it brought me so much distress at the time I was teenager until late 20’s. Iam trully free now and wish more people can commit to be free too. ❤
Great looking therapist
EMDR - for Trauma, traumatic events and Painful life events..... and/or bilateral stimulation..... ;;; The human brain suffers under prolonged stress and repeated strong painful events..... Amygdala..... Prefrontal cortex.... that might be making processing more difficult..... This method helps process that which is most difficult to emotionally process .....
Wonderful questions. I liked how you honored the persons existing behaviors as "solution behavior"
totally missed touching on the ending where he threatens her with her biggest fear. That's the magic !

I’m looking for videos showing people getting their 5 minute rapid fire reflections, labeled praise, and behavior descriptions. Definitely didn’t get 10-10-10 to pass to the next level! I’m wondering why this therapy requires soooo much in 5 minutes, when it’s totally unnatural and difficult to get to. Especially if the child isn’t speaking much that day and is focused on building, or is speaking so much about their ideas for building that they’re not building.
I had afriend that always had the mindset "How can i look at this bad thing that happened as the best thing that could have happened" and sure maybe you can turn your mindset around by kinda see the benefits of a bad thing that happened , like losing a job can give you new opportunities etc. But the further you take it the more horrible it is. Like ohh how can i see all my childhood trauma as the best thing that could have happened? Yeah i was bullied for most of my life. Maybe sometimes you were happy that you did'nt act like them or that it made me stand up for injustices. But i still have scars from that, it still haunts me in different ways. I just keep wondering how my life would have panned out if i didn't have to experience that. I have a friend who's friend was stabbed and killed. Trying to tell him that is the best thing that could ever have happened would be an insult beyond belief. that's a fastlane to getting slapped. Try telling survivors of the holocaust that's the best thing that cpuld have happened is fucking retarded. I'm not friend with this a-hole anymore

I am married to an exceptional therapist and I have never felt so validated in my entire life…”you haven’t won an argument with this guy, ever”
BLAH .. been married 38 years.. been thru a lot.. this is so fake.. both laughing.. he needs to get off his ass and help her.. period.. he sees she needs help.. he does not want too.. I prefer the Dr Phil straight forward approach.. she needs to stop the yelling.. I him before it starts" This is what I need you to do"!
Maybe she needs to stop being so neurotic and selfish with her demands and take a fucking Xanax because the world isn't gonna end if she doesn't get what she wants. Maybe she should chill the fuck out and have some crazy wild sex. Then once the two of them feel more bonded and fulfilled, they can come up with a game plan on how to do the shit that needs to get done.
Maybe she should take a Xanax and give him a bj and then hell be more inclined to help her out

Being authentic is best. We all have a range of emotions , not negative or positive,
This video really helped me yesterday(Wednesday 25th Sept, 2024) as I facilitated my very first group counseling session for my school hours. Thanks soooo much for sharing it because i was absolutely stuck on what to do.

Does this work for recent traumas?
i want to give her a hug so bad. You can tell when someone has been verbally abused by how they keep their head down and have a childlike demeanor. Its like they want to come off as non-threating and innocent.
It seems the majority of individuals battling with trauma comes from childhood. If we had EMDR techniques introduced in schools, we could get to the root of a child's trauma before manifesting into self-medicating, sabotage of others and self. It would give them a path to continue to grow without the negative memories impacting their future and how they view themselves and the world around them. It all starts with our kids-
I’d love to see this demonstrated with a child who has behavior and emotional regulation difficulties.
Re using "what came up" and "go with it" Over and over is why people don't like therapists This guy is on a power trip and rusing the process Ten thumbs down Very unimpressed This is not a good example of a healthy process Robots will replace therapists for sure Find someone who is non invasive or pushy like this guy The constant starting and stopping at such a rapid pace plus his hand is completely unnecessary light bars & hand paddles to take the personal connection away from the process and allow the trauma victim to keep their energy for healing, rather than have some person nearly touching them which the body can feel Please build robot therapists to protect trauma patients from weirdos like this guy Very un-impressed yet again This guy is a classic example of why a therapists personality can conflict with healing He is lacking experience and full of himself Hopefully we have more evolution in the field of trauma therapy A therapist likely just fumbles the ball here
