I like to think sometimes that Bob Ross roams the sky and paints happy little clouds, sunsets and sunrises in the sky.

anything that requires him using the knife is always one of my favorite parts of the painting.
This is why this is my favorite painting of his. the knife is KING here.

And he didn't exactly pass away on good terms with his mentor either. "He betrayed Me. I invented Wet-On-Wet. I trained him and....He thinks he can do it better." He told The New York Times in '91. Though Art Historians said that the technique actually originated in Flanders in the 15th Century. And was used by several famous artists that lived in the 1500s-1600s and 1800s-1900s "and many more"

I don't think Bob needs mercy on his soul, I don't think that man had a bad fiber in his being. I know people are sometimes complete opposite of what people see when the doors are closed, but I truly feel Bob was as peaceful in private as public. I used to make fun of him when I was a kid, I thought he was funny and the happy little everythings were corny to me at the time. Being older and an artist myself, I look at him and these shows now, and his mentor Bill Alexander, and appreciate them so much more and their talent, and to be able to do these in a 30 min block.... incredible.

And the way he would talk like very soft spoken it sounded, warm, peaceful and fuzzy like he was reading a book to children sitting by a warm fire place on a cold winter night, drinking hot cocoa while the kids have their blankets on and pjs.

One thing no one talks about is the palette of colors that they list on screen at the start.
Remember, this was live TV. Unless you actually taped this analog style at home, you had to whip out those colors as you were watching him paint a sky. Funny how decades later we just pause or replay the colors if we miss one.
    Love Bob Ross tho.

I watched Bob one time on TV. I'll never forget that painting he did. I always do the mountains the same now because of that episode and the "sleeping little dinosaur" on the mountains ( clouds) So happy that stuck with me.

Thank you, Bob. When you finish the drawing, a lot of pigment remains in the painting. This explains its cheap price in your country. You have a chance.

Im new to your channel, when I watched your first video I was reminded of my brave and awesome Father. Just the way you talk, your words and your style of teaching gave me a great sense of contentment I sure miss from Dad. He passed away 2 years ago after living a successful 71 years of learning and teaching. He retired from his school teacher career at age 68 and spent his last days in Big Bear, Ca. Where he lived and was always working on some new project, if it wasn't painting or drawing, it was making music,
Well anyways you remind me so much of him it's amazing. I'm just here to tell you, I appreciate your videos and your dedication. You inspire me by your teachings and because of that I'm becoming a better painter.
Thank you so much for your inspiration, and knowlegde. Your friend Virginia from California
