Oooh, that's a tough one!! I love them ALL! But if I had to pick just one, I'd go with the cherry blossom. Reminds me of several April Vacations in Washington DC and my childhood in Japan. Sooo beautiful!
You have such an excellent teaching technique for those of us who are trying to learn to paint with watercolors. Thank you from a 70 year old beginner.
I am a total newbie to watercolors and I have watched a few beginner tutorials on UA-cam with OK results. Jenna, I painted along with 6 of the 10 flowers and was so pleased with the results. I even created "Happy Spring" postcards with the flowers I learned to send... and.... they don't look like a kid painted them! Here's the best part: after I watched this lesson I made my own lavender postcard... my own creation based on what you taught and it is the FIRST time I am actually PROUD of one of my watercolor paintings! Thank you, you took me there!
I have no words for how grateful I am that you share your skills with us. You are a gifted teacher. Thank you! The flowers bring me great joy! I am fascinated how you can move your arm and hand so freely to paint leaves and petals on the left side. I always turn the paper! Practice, practice! Once again, thanks to you and your husband for making this tutorial.
I can't get over how you don't waste a single stroke- every brushstroke is perfect and intentional! Even just watching how gracefully you use the brush is as cool as the art you're producing!
A fun tutorial! My favourite flower in this tutorial was the zinnia and the hardest flower for me to paint was the rose and perhaps the anemone, but I will bee practicing this tutorial again. I have learned quite a lot from this tutorial, so thank you.
I’ve been watching and enjoying many of your videos this week. I’ve learned more watching them, than I did in a year of taking a course (20 years ago). I don’t know whether I will try watercolour painting, but everything you teach, is so valuable in all aspects of art. Thank you so much and especially for making it free. You are a wonderful teacher. 😇
I just painted all 10 flowers. I have never done a Black-eyed Susan before. It was my favorite. I also liked how the anemones came out. Thank you Jenna.
This was AWESOME, thank you so much Jenna! Poppy, Rose & Black-eye’d Susan were my favorites! I think you are probably helping so many people through this difficult time, appreciate all you do! 💗 🎨🌹🌼🌷🌺🌻🌱
I am a super beginner and totally enjoyed this tutorial. Flowers have always been my interest and I really like watching Jenna mix colors and laying down her brush in ways that make the flowers look neat!
Thank you, Jenna, for the video. I enjoyed painting along with you. My favorites to paint were the lavender, black eyed susan, rose, cherry blossom, anemone, delphinium, and sunflower. I might cut my paper/painting into bookmarks to share these flowers with others and send out some happy mail. Thanks again!
Being on lockdown I am running out of things to keep me busy, So I ordered me some watercolor paints an paper. Now to be honest I can't draw a straight line to save my soul, but your video made it look so easy an I know mine won't be perfect to begin with and it will take time and patience to learn, but your video was so easy to listen to and your slow explanation of the strokes were amazing. Thank you 4 a great video Hugs Ps. blackeye was my fav.
Thank you so much Jenna, I learned a ton watching you paint and explain details. I struggle with drawing flowers in different directions. So grateful ❤
I bookmarked this video a long time ago and finally painted these today. So fun and relaxing! Agree w everyone that seeing how you move the brush and hand really helps. Thank you for simplifying watercolor for us beginners and for a beautiful selection of flowers.
I have finally started using the mixing area of my tins! They were clean and unused! I'm using Art Philosophy tins. And watching you mix all those colors together in that pallette has taken me a minute to not get tense over 🤣. So yes, this was fun! I like my sunflower best too! Thank you!
I have been watching watercolor tutorials almost non stop trying to learn the art. Your tutorials are the best I have seen. This one has been so helpful to me as a beginner. Thank you!😊
I loved all ten loose flowers. Thank you. I have also greatly enjoyed your books; I love to study the flowers in hope that your talent will touch me via the written word and the oh! so beautiful illustrations.
I love the demo but also the way you express yourself. “A little delphinium situation” made me laugh! Same with your singing. Glad I found your channel.
this is Norah I'm 8 I am so exited to see what we paint last time I painted with you I did really good that my mom framed it so I want to see what I create
I really appreciate how you broke down each step in painting the flowers. I will add more floral images in my painting. I am most excited to try lavender, black eyed Susan and cherry blossoms for the first time. Thanks so much.
I agree. This is my current favorite video of yours. Thank you. Love both of your books too. This month April 2020 has me quarantined. THIS IS THE TIME TO PAINT.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent. I learned more from this video than I learned from an expensive online watercolor course I bought last year. I still struggle with flower petal shapes, and you explained this very clearly. Love your painting style and your teaching style - so calm, clear and informative. I can't decide which flower I like best - they are all lovely.
Thank you Jenna, I absolutely loved painting these flowers. I have been painting for about 2 weeks and under your instructions (which are so very helpful) I am now able to paint a range of flowers that look like flowers. My favorite flowers were Cherry blossom and Sun flower. I look forward to keep practicing. Love your videos
Wow that palette is well loved 😍 thanks for this, my therapist suggested I try art and I've really been enjoying learning. Thank you for the generous tutorials
I haven't used water colours paints for years.. Always gone towards acrylics but the way you explain and teach I am looking forward to getting into water colour painting. So peaceful and there really is no mistake in watercolour. Makes it looks beautiful and original. Thank you for teaching and explaining the techniques and the colours used.
I love them all! I am very frustrated by the rose so that is what I'm focusing on right now. I am going to watch the video on just the rose next! Thank you! I am doing the exercises in your book and I love having the video back-up!!!
I also have problem painting roses, see if Donna Duberry roses technique which is beautiful can help you. She used to be in PBS in the 90. It seems to me many people did very well but not me. Try it you'll enjoy it👍👌
Hello Jenna, your video came up on my recommended list. Am a senior with health problems including arthritis which limits my movement at times. Only 'painting' I've ever tried is when making cards with stamps. Your video has shown me how many mistakes I've been making in my attempts to colour the stamped images and how not to hold a brush👍🥴 I only have cheap paints but still want to have a go the Jenna way. Thank you for sharing your love and joy of your art. Thank you also for the clear descriptions of how to hold brush, pressure and direction and so many other beautiful instructions. You are so encouraging and I've subscribed in the hope of learning more that I may be able to use on my little works of art.
Aw. ❤️ Thanks so much for sharing! I am so glad you found my channel and that you are finding some peace and fun in art! Enjoy the process with whatever supplies you have, the fun and peace that comes from painting is what it's all about. Take care!
Love the lazy susan! I need to practice the 'point and lift' (mine are a little rough on the 'lift' part), but this is a good starting point for me. Thanks so much for sharing this video!🤗💖
Jenna, this my first time seeing your videos, and I love how detailed your directions were!! My sister and I are just starting out with watercolors, and I can't wait to see more! The sunflower is my favorite, though I may change my mind when I try it myself! Lovely, but looks challenging! Thanks! I have subscribed!
I love how you make it so clear and simple. The anemone tutorial you did for the single flower was absolutely awesome. Roses are the hardest for me. I just decided to practice a page of just roses and it still doesn't come easily. I've painted many and the muscle memory you talk about just hasn't clicked in yet for that flower. Thank you Jenna!
I love your calm demeanor as you carefully and delightfully paint these sweet flowers. I learned a lot and tried several. My favorite was the lavender. It looks just like the lavender in my garden. Thank you! I'm ready for more lessons.
Loved ALL of them! Love your tutorials! You are so calm when you paint and this Type A REALLY needs that right now! Lol It’s really soothing and encourages me to slow down when I paint and enjoy the process. Thank you for sharing your awesome talent!
I really enjoyed this. I painted while my children did some other art work, drawing with pencils, soft pastels and coloring. We all had a lovely time. Which of your videos is a good place to start with water colours? What products do you use? What do you suggest for beginners? Fiona.
Hey Fiona! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Good place to start: I have a "Watercolor Basics" playlist that will be a great start. A series of videos that will give you very important tips on how to approach watercolor < ua-cam.com/play/PLdb2U9SHuFlLKHCUZIzzSsvd8_z8I9JcR.html >, I also have a watercolor supplies playlist, a series of videos that share what supplies I use and why I love them < ua-cam.com/play/PLdb2U9SHuFlKJwcKAzcOqdJXbxwnmF2H6.html >, and lastly, if you want to know what supplies I use, I always link them in the description of every video, so it's nice and easy for you to find! I hope that's helpful, have so much fun painting!!
Ok I have been watching it twice and I have practice it twice, the second time was a way better!!!!!! I'm satisfied!!!! I deserve a glass of wine now....🍷🥂😁🌿🥀🌷🍂🌼
I think no one will skip any video of yours...I love the way you speak.i can listen to you for centuries.your videos are always informative and amazing like you... lots of love 🙆💙💚💛💜🖤btw my favourite flower was sunflower...
Thank you! It feels like I've achieved what i thought was impossible! I did them all and feel really good about them all... that NEER happens! I loved the cherry blossom and black eyed susan
Thank you so much! You are an amazing teacher! I loved each flower and learned more on how to paint them, but my favorite one is the Black eyed Susan and the Lavender.
I can't stop. I have painted these flowers over and over. I love this video. I must practice the rose however. I find that to be the most challenging of all the flowers.
I am so glad you love the video, Laura! And... you'll get that rose!! Oh, speaking of rose, I am posting my first realistic floral tutorial TOMORROW -- it's a rose. It might look intimidating, but I will walk you through the whole thing and I think you'll be impressed with what you paint! 🌹 ❤️
I just water color painted for the first time since I was a little girl (about 30 years ago) by following this tutorial with a set of old Crayola water colors! I had so much fun! I think I’ll cut them out and turn them into little greeting cards! I’m hooked!
Love the loose flowers. Although my hand has a hard time being that loose with control. Practice, right?! I would love to know what the other colors in your palette are - I know you top 12 from the download but what other colors do you love?
You’re right, Stacey, practice practice - enjoy the process! All the paints that use are linked in the description, I really don’t use anything else. 😉
Thanks- for some reason (or reasons) I struggle with flowers and capturing the depth and shadowing when painting flowers. This tutorial has helped. Off to see how much I've really learned.
Just starting to watercolor (have never done any drawing or painting). I did the leaf tutorials and still have a lot of practice to do, but today decided to try flowers. It was fun and some of them looked fairly good while others weren't so good. So will practice them all some more. Instruction was very good and easy to follow. Thanks.
Loved having Hossa say “hello”! Your videos are great! Please keep them coming. I’m a beginner trying to teach my self and these are so helpful! My biggest challenge is the water/pigment control. I like how you show what you are doing off the paper with your brush and water. Thank you!
6 oct 2022 I enjoyed your class so much many thanks .... always grateful to be inspired getting back to water colours after two years thanks again M xxx
Thank you so much!! This was my first attempt of doing anything with water since grade 6. Some of the flowers even turned out decent looking. I am going to re do the course in the next couple of days. I am so grateful I found your channel
I've tried painting flowers here and there and have always thought sunflowers are beautiful to paint so I never really paid much attention to other flowers but I found a new favorite now. My eyes are set on delphinium😍 thankies for giving us a video that is really easy to follow and understand😘
I love the lavender and. The poppy! I love that you explain how to hold the brush and the. Direction to pull from. You are making it easy for a beginner like me!
I have been searching around to look for a tutorial to teach how to draw flowers by water color, and I found your channel. I appreciate you shared this tutorial as it is very detailed and show a number of different flowers. I particularly like the blueish flower, i love the combination of different blue shades and your strokes are really nice. I will learn from your tutorial to try to complete a flower bouquet including all these flowers and i hope it will turn out pretty.
Thank you, this was fun and i loved your comment about not getting frustrated but keep on doing the strokes. My favorite was the black eyed susan which when I painted I didn't like, but at the end it was good.
I am so thrilled that I have come across your channel. Your teaching style is exactly what need. I like to paint and draw visualizing what it is that I am creating and you've helped me make that transition to flowers. I also love your style. I have been drawn to, Japanese style calligraphy and watercolours and your brush techniques are similar. I typically do animation style illustrations with coloured pencil, watercolour and gouache so I do a lot of detail work, especially in the background of my drawings. More often than not, I can get caught up in the details and make mistakes. Your tutorials get me out of my head and into the paper and brush. As I practice I am developing my own style and am coming up with ideas on implementing the subtle watercolour leaves and flowers into my "animation" pieces. I was stuck artistically for about a year and it was really draining me. Now I feel this surge of motivation led by curiosity since my new paint palette arrived in the mail as well as stumbling upon your channel. Thank you for this video Jenna! It has really been an incredible help!
Aw Michelle! Thanks so much for taking the time to let me in on your process. I am super happy to hear that my tutorials and teaching style speak to you and that you're finding some inspiration! I hope my videos continue to do that for you! Thanks so much for watching. ❤️❤️❤️
Jenna! I was at my local art supply store and saw your book. I had no clue you had one out, so of course I bought it! I live your videos, but the book is perfect for my "no screen time" days. Thank you again!!!
My favorite flower was the Anemone. It's so pretty 😍. I couldn't get the pedals to have the same shape like you but I had fun trying. Thank you for teaching us UA-camrs how to paint these flowers. Your a very good teacher 👍😉. You explain things so well. I'll try to hastag my work on Instagram. It's not great but I want to post it anyway so I might get some feedback on my work. That way I can improve on my paintings. Lol Can't wait until the next class. It helps with the lockdown so much. Keep safe 🙏. 😊😎🌴 Florida.
@@JennaRaineyChannel I love painting. If I didn't have watercolor I don't know what I would do. I'm disabled so I have time on my hands but my hands don't always want to cooperate with me. The problem I have in watercolor is paint to water ratio. Will that improve with time or will I always have this problem with watercolor? I'd appreciate it if you give me your expertise in this situation. Thanks and have a good night 😊😎🌴.
I LOVE you! Thank you Jenna for sharing your gifts during this difficult time. My fav one was the Black Eyed Susan.Such a calming way to end my week and start my weekend.

@@JennaRaineyChannel Thank you for teaching us. Love your energy
Loved the poppy and the rose. Thanks for this relaxation with such simplistic beauty.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you! It feels like I've achieved what i thought was impossible! I did them all and feel really good about them all... that NEER happens! I loved the cherry blossom and black eyed susan
Yes! That's what I love to read!! Nice work, Zaynab! ❤️❤️
Watercolor flower painting is so beautiful and beautiful.
You're a great painter.
Enjoy, and I always cheer for you.
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much! You are an amazing teacher! I loved each flower and learned more on how to paint them, but my favorite one is the Black eyed Susan and the Lavender.
Thank YOU Suzie for watching! Glad you liked it.
Your work is just so beautiful! I don't know if I have a favorite. I'm inspired to go back to my studio and paint though! :)
Have so much fun, Carolyn!!
@@JennaRaineyChannel Woo Hoo! Looking forward to it!!!
I just water color painted for the first time since I was a little girl (about 30 years ago) by following this tutorial with a set of old Crayola water colors! I had so much fun! I think I’ll cut them out and turn them into little greeting cards! I’m hooked!
LOVE hearing this Lauren, thanks for sharing! And the greeting card idea is a great one!!
Very nice teaching demeanor: slow and consistent. Thank you. I just need to practice!
This was amazing. Thank you so much!! 💕
Glad you liked it!! Thanks Pippa!
Thank you!!! That was perfect! Not too fast, not too slow, and not too complicated!! I'm gonna go paint now!!
Thanks- for some reason (or reasons) I struggle with flowers and capturing the depth and shadowing when painting flowers. This tutorial has helped. Off to see how much I've really learned.
OMG I realy luv it!!
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Just starting to watercolor (have never done any drawing or painting). I did the leaf tutorials and still have a lot of practice to do, but today decided to try flowers. It was fun and some of them looked fairly good while others weren't so good. So will practice them all some more. Instruction was very good and easy to follow. Thanks.
I’m so glad you found some success and enjoyed the tutorial! Thanks for sharing Shirley! I hope to hear from you in future videos, take care! ❤️
I'm posting a 10 flowers fall/winter edition TOMORROW! Come back and enjoy painting along with that one this weekend. Thanks for watching, Martha! ❤
Beautiful, love the delphinium sunflower and lavender! Thank you for sharing!,
Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️
Really loving the black eyed Susan, thank you for sharing your skills on this platform! The lavender and rose are the toughest ones for me!
I am a beginner in watercolor painting. You made it so easy. i thought I had a favorite flower but now I love them all. Thanks.
MEGA chill Jenna! I loved the delphinium flower, so pretty..
Haha, very chill! Glad you liked the delphinium, thanks for sharing!
I’ll need to do this again and again. Sunflower turned out the best.
I just got into watercolor painting and did not know where to begin. Hopefully by watching your videos i can grow as an artist.
I hope my videos help, Wesley!
I just loved this exercise. I have only been painting for a few weeks..
I am so excited. I’ve used this tutorial to teach myself watercolours flowers. I just bought two books and they turn out to be yours!
I love your humor, talent and ability to teach. I can’t wait to try these!!
Thank you, this was fun and i loved your comment about not getting frustrated but keep on doing the strokes. My favorite was the black eyed susan which when I painted I didn't like, but at the end it was good.
💕💕
I enjoyed how you broke it down into simple steps. Your a good teacher. Thank you
You're very welcome! ❤️
Daily, sunflower, and lavender are my favourite! Thank you so much! It was great fun painting all of them
Thanks for sharing, Wenjun!
Toss up between delphinium and sunflower -- I am proud of both!
Awesome, Cheryl!
Had fun trying, that's the most important part!! Glad you enjoyed, Jane!
You're so welcome, Jackie! Glad this is helping you through our difficult times!
