This is a list of 10 classic cars that we think automakers should definitely bring back. From pony cars to muscle trucks, this is D-List!

As an rx-7 obsessed nerd, I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask for more rotaries, and that was proven to Mazda with how big of a flob the rx-8 was
@@Pekoe. To be fair, the RX-8 was a completely different type of car, the only thing it had in common with the RX-7 was that it was a Rotary. But even the Renesis was a pretty different type of engine to the 13b. (And it also wasn't as good)

I used to have a manual 2011 CRZ. honestly the best car I've ever driven to this day. I dream of having a CRX one day.

had a 1st gen 1984 CRX my dad gave me, carbureted got 40+ mpg and had such a nice 5th gear. 70mph and you wouldn't realize it until you looked at the speedometer lol. wish I still had it!
Plot twist: every single company decides to bring all of these back, but they all come back as crossovers so you wished they never came back at all
Sad but true and worse, the Corvette and the Camaro may be included.
@@beauxguidry5373 the corvette is changing but it is still an out and out sports car, it is just now mid-engined rather than front engined; fun fact the Corvette was intended to be mid-engined (by the designer Zora Arkus-Duntov) over 50 years ago as beautiful designs such as the Astro II show car show; design features of the Astro II seem to go into the third generation Corvette even if they were unwilling to change to mid-engined.

@@beauxguidry5373 Corvette is practically its own single model brand as is and I wasn't aware of any concepts that were off-road/suv like. I am not really bothered as long as the vehicle is good. Porsche have mainly made sports cars but they made rally/safari versions of the 911 (won stuff with them as well) and made a pretty good SUV in the Cayenne. Lambourghini made the Urus, which was another cool SUV. In short I think Corvette has enough brand recognition to be separated and they could expand thier vehicle roster but they need to make sure that they they always may two seater sports cars and that said cars are thier flagship.

I still have the hope that car manufactureres want to increase acceptance of EVs by going back to retro designs. Would be the way to go and make EVs more appealing if they didn't look like a spaceship. A bit like Opel did it with their Manta concept

Btw: Dodge seriously considered building the exact Like Red Express variant you mentioned, but knew it wouldn't be high volume and the trucks they did sell would mainly go to collectors who would throw it in a garage for 40 years. They didn't want another demon. It's not a volume truck and the the collectors ruin the niche vehicle market.

I was raised as a Valvoline and Castrol guy. Hearing these facts about Valvoline makes me happy/proud I have almost used Valvoline almost exclusively in my car life with my two Civic Coupes and (current) 350z.

Usually I skip and dont care about sponsors but I have never skipped this this one and I care about it because 1st good oil 2nd best sponsor scene ever!
The first car I purchased new, was the 1990 Ford Escort GT, and it was an awesome little screamer!
It would haul ass, and get almost 40MPG if I drove conservatively.
I traded it in on a Probe GT in 1993, and have to admit, it was a blast to drive!
Speaking of the Ford Probe GT, that's one that Ford should bring back, but as it's own line, not the Mustang killer 2.0...

MR2 co-developed with Lotus.
Lotus already uses a Toyota powerplant (a performance Camry V6). And Lotus could provide the platform.
Lotus also worked on the engine for the Yaris GRMN

My family has a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. It was the car my mom drove in high school and is even (at least partially) how my parents met. My dad was cruising main street with a buddy and jokes that he noticed the car first and then my mom. After my parents got married, I think my mom's brothers drove it for a bit while they were in school but then it ended up sitting in my grandparents backyard under a blue tarp, rotting away for like 20 years. My brother spent most of our childhoods/teen years+ trying to convince our step-grandma to give him the car. Finally, she did and thus began the very long and difficult process of restoring it. It is very much not original and still a work in progress due to some problems we had with the person who was restoring it but it is loads better than it was rotting under the tarp. I don't have the specifics off the top of my head, like what engine is now in it, but its a pretty sick car.

What I think the Americans should do is bring back the Chevelle and Torino to compete with a 2 door Charger. Market the Stang, Camaro and Challenger a nimble track cars with V8s

When I look back on all the cars I have owned, my favorite has to be the '88 Cougar XR7. Lots of tech for its time, super comfortable, great looks, and could get up and BOOGIE. The only downside was that, different from the lower trims, it shared quite a bit from the Lincoln Mark VII platform, so parts for it were crazy expensive. The '92 ElDorado that I replaced it with was also pretty freakin sweet, but was missing some of that fun factor. If they reintroduced the Cougar XR7 (correctly) I know where my mid-life crisis money would be going.
Hands down, THE BEST sopnsor ad I've ever seen.

As the owner of a VR4, I'd like to see a modern version. There was recently a futuristic render made called the 4000GT but I really didn't like it. I wouldn't mind if it came electric either, considering VR4s always were a bit heavier, and also at the peak of technology. Just imagine if Mitsu could create a car as fast as the Taycan, but at the same price as a C8 corvette. It may be electric, but it needs to be fixable too. Another thing that's never gonna happen
A new GTO would be cool, but I know mitsubishi would make it a crossover or a pile of turd design
