My family has a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. It was the car my mom drove in high school and is even (at least partially) how my parents met. My dad was cruising main street with a buddy and jokes that he noticed the car first and then my mom. After my parents got married, I think my mom's brothers drove it for a bit while they were in school but then it ended up sitting in my grandparents backyard under a blue tarp, rotting away for like 20 years. My brother spent most of our childhoods/teen years+ trying to convince our step-grandma to give him the car. Finally, she did and thus began the very long and difficult process of restoring it. It is very much not original and still a work in progress due to some problems we had with the person who was restoring it but it is loads better than it was rotting under the tarp. I don't have the specifics off the top of my head, like what engine is now in it, but its a pretty sick car.
Day 44 of asking Donut to do an b2b on their cars or maybe an up to speed or d-list Fun Fact of the Day: Cruise Control was invented by Ralph Teetor in 1948.
This would honestly be a great idea. I think the SVX was just made in the wrong era for what it was. Luxury sporty cars do well in the current market and the SVX could probably be brought back cheaper than a corvette with the EZ36 already on hand. I honestly would consider buying a new car for once if they made a new SVX, maybe even make it hybrid too.
I love my CRX. That render looks pretty good but the current SI doesn’t have the same feel as a CRX. The bare bones nature of the CRX is what gives it character. I would buy a modern day CRX if Honda could figure out how to replicate that.
As much as I agree with you I’m not holding my breath. With all the modern safety and emissions requirements, I don’t know if they would ever be able to recreate the feel of the old CRX. By today’s standards, a tin can would be just as safe to drive in as my CRX. Not that I care haha
I had an 86 si. Sadly I had to abandon it due to the rear structure rotting away. The fuel lines run inside the car. If a fuel line happens to rust. Boom. Pressurized fuel in the cabin. Fixed the fuel line. Go around the block. And the return line breaks open respraying the interior with gasoline. Still sold it for more than I paid. .... Still did great burnouts. Really drove me to liking diesels. As there is a way less chance of burning to death trapped in a burning box.
I wonder if a collaboration between Honda and Toyota for a shared platform electric CRX and MR2 is the worst idea. Especially if their styling were highly differentiated, I think there's a decent chance for success there, and if they made dual motor high performance AWD variants of both, then they could still maintain the RWD MR2 and FWD CRX as base models. Come to think of it, if they looped in Audi, it could share a platform with a new electric TT or Quattro. It's a pipe dream, of course, but I'm liking it the more I think of it.
I was raised as a Valvoline and Castrol guy. Hearing these facts about Valvoline makes me happy/proud I have almost used Valvoline almost exclusively in my car life with my two Civic Coupes and (current) 350z.
here in New Zealand we have a hell of a lot of Jimni’s so you could probably find a way ( by bringing a wrecked one or just the bare body ) to import one to the US
Yeah but since it doesnt pass and has never passed all of our regulations it would either have to wait about 15 years, or it would be a "grey car" only legal in the state its registered in (if the state allows) or in a few select states. Trust me, when i moved from Germany to the USA and tried to bring my R33, it didnt go well. Lol

They need a new trans am, even though Pontiac is gone, I want a new age of classic looking muscle cars.
Bring back Pontiac as a whole
We need a Chevelle LS6 remake, while staying true to its 70 body style.

Bold to bring up how electric cars are becoming better than ICE’s in a video sponsored by an oil company
"prawn on the Barbie" and thanks for thinking of our economy would be nice to make something in Australia again 😔
Wow, I'm surprised you didn't mention the Nissan 240sx! Here state side we haven't had that car since the 1990's. We could really use a lightweight affordable sports car with somewhat retro styling from back in the day. That would be so cool
especially since they're gonna try to take the Z upmarket

Day 44 of asking Donut to do an b2b on their cars or maybe an up to speed or d-list
Fun Fact of the Day: Cruise Control was invented by Ralph Teetor in 1948.
Shout out Ralph Teetor! I like to think Dodge's R/T badge is a hat tip to the legend himself.

First time I actually watched a donut ad 😂🤣
Best ad ever lol 🤣

The Subaru SVX needs a comeback, say it to my face if im wrong
We need to take a step back in design. Some of the 2010ish cars look eh
I just want to see a new version of the AE86
And dont say Corolla
I refuse to say a Corolla is an AE86
If they’re bringing a Subaru back it’s gotta be the brat or the baja. We need more subaru trux
they should make the 86 have an option to be a hatch it'll be a good contender at the hot hatch competition

I was just about to say that lol
Honda did kinda bring back the CR-X. They made the CR-Z.
Dodge is like “We don’t like hybrids. We know this is gonna kill us, but by golly we’re gonna go out with a bang.”
They're motto is basically when shit hits the fan, just add hella Horsepower
God bless Mopar
Thry could make even more horsies with a hybrid though.
But there's an electric Jeep coming out sometime
They're all hybrids these days idk if I've ever seen a pure sativa or indica IRL and I live in California

Lol
@John kamel everything from GT40’s to Formula One, Group B, proper muscle cars and even a few Koenigseggs 😂
Hey, D-Media just asking if there is a date for the next season of Hi-Low. Or if not did it get canceled. (I hope not)
they have more episodes on their Facebook thag aren't on youtube
Do a new high low but start with different cars at different price ranges and instead of putting the expensive parts on the expensive car put the same parts on both cars.
For example an Audi A4 2.0t and an Audi s4 3.0t
5Jack_Attack5 but there 2 completely different cars
TUBULAR_TOMATO nope season 2 is coming and season 1.5 is out of Facebook
holy crap, that edited CR-X looks amazing
