I would love to do a 9k rpm 289 aluminum sbf with a 6spd organic dual clutch and a 9" ford lsd. Granted the upgraded suspension, wheels, tires, etc. $8k for solid starter chassis and another $50k for the extras. If labor was done by me then it is still way cheaper than anything new today that could compare. If a trustworthy shop did it then another $30k for labor? So $80k for a killer Miata? Sounds like a bargain. Or as you say dirt cheap you could possibly make out with a good $10k of second hand parts and pieces. Any way you go about it you end up having fun.
I LOVE the idea of a modern Shelby cobra, solid reliability, parts availability, and the ultimate sleeper. It gets to the point though where a built miata 1.6 and a moderate turbo setup would be reliable enough and far less money. That sound though!
Great Idea Im glad you did this. I can't believe I didn't do a video like this for most of my projects. Oh wait now I remember, I didn't want to know how much my dumb a$$ spent on my crazy addiction.
Fab_it_ garage did it for 7k I'm doing one now I hope cheaper than that I fab all mine own stuff including a rear shortened solid 8.8 diff with ladder bars systemhopping to supercharge it been looking for a used supercharger just mist one for 800
Yeah I'd do swap. Cheap Miata, wrecked early 00s corvette. Call up my cousins that weld for a living, and then throw it in my paint booth and she's ready to go
Haha, good eye. That’s my next project :) 47 Lincoln Continental. Has full power options from factory back then!! Grandparents were the original owners and brought it here from Cali. Thinking TT LS. Can’t wait to feature yours on the channel!
Would you do a V8 Swap? What would throw in one of these tiny Miatas?
