      Boni Hollóssy holding at redline for an excessive amount of time isn’t good. But the rev limiter is there to protect the engine. If you hit rev limiter every now and then you’re really not doing any damage. Hence “limiter”

    • @thetuber705
      @thetuber705 5 років тому +2

      @fngr The guy said something like 2050lbs for the K miata. I don't think the interior of an NB is 500lbs. The difference was engine, trans, rear end, and interior mostly, as far as I could tell at least.
      Edit: to be fair this LS car also has aero and side skirts and soft top which adds weight over the K miata.
      In the K miata video at 3:44 he says the car weighs 2060lbs. They even have the same super heavy rollbar.

    I'm running a 245/40/18 on the rear with my LS1 GTO. It hooks great with 430hp at the rear wheels. Also I think the hopping is from the engine not being in the powerband. LS1's don't have as much torque as the rest of the ls's so they like to rev more. Mine hops like that if your down below 2k RPM in third gear.

    Not sure what the problem is here. I have a 471 rwhp LS3 in my NA Miata, and it's on 205 section RA-1s. Once the tires were hot, it had no trouble hooking in 2nd at my last track day. Also, the other Miata you reviewed that had brake fade issues ... I watched that video and made sure my brake lines were well insulated. With Castrol SRF fluid and suitable ducting to the front brakes, I had *zero* brake issues all day at the track.

      @@Catbus-Driver Since when are HSD coilovers Ohlins? BIG difference between a budget coilover and proper motorsport tier damper like Ohlins. Been there, done that.
      I agree the car is likely not setup for the track and would benefit from a larger wheel and tire setup.

      @@trvyke36 Go to angevaare motorsports on FB.... I get my parts from them. The car has had Ohlins for over a year now. Well aware of the differences lol.

      @@Catbus-Driver My point was, in the video the car wasn't on Ohlins like your comment seemed to imply. That's all.

    Perhaps just my perspective, but the K-swapped miata looked so much better to drive. I guess it is 600-lbs lighter? lol.

    I think a 6.0/6.2 block with a 4.8 Crank would be better suited for such a light weight car.

    I'm actually surprised this thing weighs 150 lbs more than my LS3 SL-C, even though the SL-C has much larger wheels and tires... I would have guessed this Miata would have been under 2350 lbs!
