Mr Johnson and the Juice Crew, Outta Time, so many great time changes, not to metion the riffs and solos. And performing in a chicken suit is legendary.
I was 13 years old when this song and video first caught my attention. I’m 45 now and I still think it’s both brilliant and hilarious! Musically spot on from start to finish!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I'm calling bs on your story because l did the math and it turns out you're 47. First l did the math by guessing and so at that time your age was actually 116 but then l found the calculator..
I actually saw Scatterbrain at a club in New Orleans when Scamboogery had just dropped, and they were phenomenal! I mean they were just crazy sick-tight. We were already fans of their previous album Here Comes Trouble, and they played just about every song from both. I'll never forget it because they came out dressed in drag for the encore, and proceeded to play a f'd up version of Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls" lmfao. It was unbelievable! Ugly Kid Joe was the opening act, and they killed too! They were just starting out, and we all left that show big fans of theirs that night. Ahhhhh, the 90's.
I saw them in a club called Spit in Levittown, NY on that same Scamboogery tour. I with I could say I liked it. But I don't remember. We got drunk and high in the parking lot. I just have split second snapshot memories of complete chaos on the stage. I still have my ticket stub, so I know I really went. The previous album, Here Come's Trouble was their pinnacle. I wasn't crazy about Scamboogery. Ludichrist was pretty good, but the comedy kinda gets lost in the thrash metal tone.
I'm only 14, yet I love these guys. Basically my dad was going through the garage of the house he grew up in, and he found a shirt of his with the word "scatterbrain" on it. Later that day I looked them up and here I am today listening to these guys while wearing a scatterbrain t-shirt with pride.
Don't listen to MeowYap being a Scatterbrain fan (Damn I miss my hat) will lead you to a life of a loser but never any shame. Look up their previous incarnation Ludichrist in fact her is a live version of green eggs and ham ua-cam.com/video/99mwdTcXuP4/v-deo.html
Got to actually see Scatterbrain on this tour in Sydney Australia at a venue called the Ayslum appropriately enough. Really Cool gig but when this song came on absolute mayhem. People literally hanging off ceilings And quite possibly the most insane mosh pit I have ever been in. Could not move my neck for days I headbanged that hard. Happy times
You're talking about ASYLUM not Ayslum YEAH.... it was a cool joint back in the day i gather you're talking about Asylum at Brighton Le Sands is that right ?
It's too bad they didn't get the recognition they deserve. Not only do they have some serious chops, but they're far more original than 99% of the bands of that era.
That guitar solo is quite simple but it carries such a rage that explains the purpose of the song. Love these guys since late 80’s and early 90’s. Hilarious video clip and an amazing song.
Seen them in Sydney when they toured Australia back in the day. And Tommy Christ wearing the chicken suit. The album Here Comes Trouble is Gold. Love Down with the Ship. (Slight Return) is a classic.
I like how the comments here are a perfect mix of, "Oh I remember this song??"... and then there's the people who bought the album..... These guys are amazing, seriously...... Everytime I play this stuff I spend the next three days cleaning talent out of my stereo.
thank God for these new voice recognition programs all I did was say don't call me dude and Bam I was here haven't heard this song in 20 years either take care of my dudes !
Considering the song was just a bit of mucking around, the musical composition and the lyrics is quite fucking awesome really. These guys should have been bigger.
The first time I heard this song I was 16 years old. It was in a pub in Valparaiso (Chile). It was 2006 so there was no shasam. I ran to the DJ. I never stopped listening to them, until today.
Great live band, ahead of their time (at the time), pity they didn't go on to get more recognition; but there again that's probably the point.... I saw them live 3 nights in a row in 3 different towns - best 3 nights of my life!
I remember getting this song on tape for one of my birthdays (the tape had two songs - this one and a song called “that’s that”) 🎂 I loved it then, I’m 42 now and still love the song. Brings back great memories
My friend and I went to see them in Phoenix at a small club. We sat in the from and several seats were available at the long table we were at. Ugly kid Joe opened and a few of these guys came over and asked us if they could sit. We had a pretty good conversation and when UKJ was on their second to last song, they got up and “scattered”. Then about 30 minutes later here comes the guys who had sat with us. It was the guys from Scatterbrain 😂🤣🤣 I still have all their CDs and listen frequently. They were and still are awesome!
I bought" here comes trouble" on cassette back in 1990. I think I bought the cd twice and still listen to it. Great band. Remember when they were Ludachrist? lol
I just found my Scatterbrain CD a few days ago after years of not knowing where on earth it was. It is now in the CD player in my car. Eventually I shall have it on my phone...
Different styles of music-great how they combined it all-The video is well done and acting is great! Had to look up this song-I have vid on VHS-Some guy I’m on messenger keeps calling me dude😂 This triggered my memory of this song😁👍🏼
Loved reading the back of the cassette back when I got this when I was 15 or something I'm 47 now and it had"lyrics, christ" I think that was the singer's last name. Piss funny and great shit. Lol
I remember getting up early on a Sat and Sun morning to listen to the top 50 (when i was very young) as there were actually great songs during the 80's and 90's. I loved this song when I heard it, brings back memories.
This was the funniest film clip and one of the best songs for me that year (I was 14). I still hear it and have to crank it up!!!! Just came up on random on my iTunes and I thought "Why haven't I you-tubed this before?!?!?!". Bloody Brilliant!!!!!!
I used to wait until mum had left the house on week days and then crank the bejeezus out of this until I had to leave for school. my step dad was an audiophile and oh my lordy! still one of the most epic and underrated pieces of music ever written. those riffs. holy sh*t!
I saw them do the same schtick at the Cubby Bear in Chicago- across from Wrigley Field- sometime around September 1990. They previewed "Grandma's House Of Babes" and teased the finale "Drunken Milkman" by interweaving it with the main riff from "South of Heaven" by Slayer...
Stands up so well. Australia loved this song. Number one if my memory serves.
Yeah, it was (still is) awesome. From what I can gather, it peaked at number 14.
But in Australiia, wouldn't the song be called, "Don't Call Me Mate?"
It’s a fantastic song
@@NileKelly Don't call me Mate, Mate.
Years later, you have to respect how good this band actually was! There's a lot of changes in this song and this band absolutely nails them!
Absolutely
I knew. 😉

Here comes Trouble...This whole album is Brilliant and Hilarious!!!
It reminded me of what would have come out if Cheech and Chong did an entire record of Earache in My Eye type material.
Includes the Grammy winning track Drunken Milkmen
Mr Johnson and the Juice Crew, Outta Time, so many great time changes, not to metion the riffs and solos.

These guys were way better players than most of the bands that "made it"
That's a fucking fact.
Super tight live
They got over shadowed like a lot of bands by grunge and didn't seem to get recognized. This stuff would go over really well today imo.
It's too bad they didn't get the recognition they deserve. Not only do they have some serious chops, but they're far more original than 99% of the bands of that era.

More airplay? Where I am from they played this song on the local FM rock station until everyone was fucking sick of it.
one of the greatest songs ever
along with every other song they did
First CD I ever bought. These guys were kid friendly, humorous, and had major chops. Great memories.
