It's been a little over 2 months for me. I don't cry anymore, but I still feel like my chest hurts and been feeling depressed again. I wish these feelings went away.
I feel the same way ! 2 months and a half for me NC and I have my good and bad days! My heart hurts but it is what it is! I had a coaching session with Rory and Rory thinks he will come back but I’m so so skeptical! I highly doubt it

Well this is one of the first videos that made me feel worse, but probably because it’s just a tough pill to swallow. It’s only been a couple months since the breakup, but all of these seem to apply. The exception maybe being the last one because I had been the one pushing to get all the “business” taken care of so I could give myself that clean break to try and heal. Does anyone else find themselves struggling with the fact that they think they are doing ok, until they realize that they are just telling themselves they are ok in the moment, when in reality they are still clinging to every hope possible? Each time I think I will be alright, I try telling myself he is never coming back into my life and I crumble again.

I feel you...it takes time to accept the fact but it will become much easier .. when they decided to end the relationship they have in fact move on and even if they become weak they don't whant to change there design.. they will have rebounds do what ever it takes to keep there word that they don't whant the relationship.. stay strong if they whant to go let it be .. remember your value

Hi Rory I still watch your videos bc I enjoy them, even though I've moved on haha. Its been 3 months now and I rarely think of him. When you work on yourself, and find self-love, self-worth, and self-respect, you wake up and realize you don't need anybody but yourself. It's also amazing how when you work on yourself you attract people even better than your ex. I'm extremely happy with where I'm at. I feel indifferent about my ex, I don't miss him, I don't feel sad or angry. I've forgiven him and have moved on with my life. Thank you for your videos, it brought comfort when I needed it.

@@matrixband12 Just know its okay to cry or feel sad. I use to just scream in my car on my way home to release the heaviness I hold onto all day. But after you have the little cry session, you just have to pick yourself up. The moment you focus on yourself, do what you love, and experience new experiences. It gets a little easier each time. Then you start to not miss your ex. You start to not want them back. Then you just become indifferent to them, like they can do whatever with their life and it won't cause a reaction out of you. But it all starts with self-love, remind yourself that you love yourself. Everytime I thought of my ex, I would do self-affirmations until the thought of him dissipates. And now 3 months later, I'm happier than before I even dated him. It takes time, I wish you luck.

A great video Rory. You helped me a lot and I've started to see things differently and trying to live first for myself. Your ex never stop to love you they will love you always but not on a romantic level. Your or your ex behaviour can change with time if they see you're doing good and you're stabil a change of getting her back is more likely than when you sitting home on a couch and stop progressing. It's hard to lose someone you loved and cared about but this is a test for you in the first place. Currently I am in NC for almost 2-3 months I've had contact with my ex but on a business basis i wasnt rude or hateful but gentle and respectful. Try to think about yourself now let her experience this loss if you had a good relationship without abuse or cheating but it just turn sideways on you there is always a chance for you both getting together back and if not there is always a place for someone else who can experience a much better version of you.
This brought me clarity. I'm now moving on. I think it's best for us to improve ourselves and not to think to each other. I'm gonna be find, I'm focusing for my family and career. I don't think that we may cross each path someday. I'm glad that I had been part of her life and me as well.
All of the guys I’ve dated except one reached out at some point, usually after when things didn’t work out with the girl they were seeing or they felt lonely or in some kind of emotional crisis. I met up with some of them but none ended up with us dating again due to various reasons. In my experience it is quite rare for people to get back together because the issues haven’t been fixed or the dumpee’s feelings are not the same anymore. People don’t usually change. Not everyone has the skill set to be in a healthy long term relationship with someone.
Almost 2 months in NC.. Trust me guys it's getting better. I was praying so hard for him to come but now I'm not even sure I want him back. But still praying. Apply NC and let Jesus lead the way.
Stop wasting time! I once had an issue as your. I went on NC for 5months and my ex didn't come back. I almost lot hope within when i got in contact with a powerful man who helped me to get my ex back within 12hours and he can also help you.

My ex gave me back a jumper of mine she used to love wearing and I thought that's it, it's over etc. Less than a week later, she reached out and has done so every day for three days, and I know she is starting to get re-attracted to me as she said she noticed I had been working out recently. Not all hope is lost if they do these signs

Thank you so much for this video. My ex ended our 5 year relationship a month ago out of nowhere, I didn’t want it to end. What’s interesting is that although I watched this video to see if my ex has moved on, listening to this video made me realise that apart from being in a new relationship, I have in fact been showing all of these signs. This shows me that in reality, I’m the one who’s moved on and am at peace with the situation.
Rory.. I know you will be disappointed to hear this, but I broke NC Sunday after 8 months, with a friendly "testing the waters" like text, and she responded by not responding, and then blocked me on Instagram. In my mind, it's officially over, and good riddance, ya know? This was about the most childish response one could give, especially from someone who told me that she had to work on herself back in January. She not only proved that she hasn't worked on herself, but she may have even regressed. I just got my 2nd raise this year at work TODAY.. Got my own place in Sept.. will be working on many exciting music projects in 2019.. And I've grown mentally.. Her loss.. Now I can start fresh with a new woman, and apply this knowledge on someone who will hopefully not be as damaged as her.
Good attitude. On to bigger and better things!

@07 I think you are looking at it rightly in my opinion... better to test the waters, then to continue with the stupid waiting position. I also made a move yesterday, I blocked her on my phone, and since she reached out and we had a night evening,, it has been mostly my initating... so its going to be awhile until she realizes she is blocked.. Im done
@@thelegionary07 I went to therapist yesterday... she said my avoidant ex isn't coming back and will probably always have these empty relationships. She is unlikily to do the internal emotional work required to grow. I say we raise a beer and cheer out avoidant ex "best Wishes".

As soon as possible after the breakup, I replace fond memories with the horrible one’s. Anytime I’m feeling hopeless, it is because I’m thinking about the things I loved about him or visions of the future together. So when I realize this I go through the list of terrible things done/said and that gets me up and moving not entirely but not bed ridden. Hope it works for you.

Pretty much all videos done by anyone carry a similar theme with similar presumptions. For example ‘cheating’ is mentioned sporadically with regard to certain circumstances etc but it’s only added as a possible additional consideration in individuals own circumstances etc.
I’d love you to do a video/videos on cheating specifically. As in, potential processes for D & Dee in the wake of an affair or cheating.
My own personal circumstance is We were having significant difficulties during 8 yr relationship, she became increasingly detached and withdrawn and caused a lot of pain, hurt and frustration in me. I strayed and regrettably had an affair for several months. Everything blew up 2 months ago. Surprisingly my ex and I remained amicable as we were both mature enough and loved each other enough to own our part.
She’s now 3 weeks into a new relationship which is absolutely devastating. I’m struggling with the reality of whether it’s a rebound or is it not! As in because she apparently checked out of our relationship a very long time ago, it’s more likely a natural and easy progression for her. Absolutely heartbroken.
So I would really really appreciate a video along these lines, situations that are quite outside of the ‘normal’ breakups where emotional attachment simply fades etc & a couple breakup.
I am putting 100 percent effort into myself now to change, grow and evolve and I desperately want another go with the love of my life.

At this moment in time I'm needing a hug to make all the pain go away. I want to know what being loved by a good person feels like. I miss my Ex and I still love and want him, yet I know that after all my whining I'll be Ok. My ex ghosted me hard. The few times I ran into her, she covers her eyes, looks away or literally runs away. (one time I saw a new guy and very drastic hair color change). I fell into a black hole. I ate everything and drank the same. :( Found your videos........Thank you. . I'm still under construction but have lost 20 of my 30lbs goal. I just stopped drinking. As my step dad always says, no news is good news lol. I have no idea if any of these signs apply to me because my ex stopped talking to me 5 months ago and I moved back home (3 1/2 hours away). No one has really seen him or heard from him. The few friends we have in common speculate that he is still single, from what they have seen, and he started his first real job which doesn't give him much free time. From what I know of him, he isn't big on going out and trying to date. He had been single for a few years before we met. The last time I saw him, he wasn't indifferent, it just seemed like he didn't know what to do with himself. I'm inclined to believe he is trying to move on, but who knows.
What do you suggest to do if example 2 was the case?.. they were calm in the breakup and that's what hurts a lot.. knowing that they've internally made that decision that is seemingly permanent. Although I've watched almost all of your videos and have had a lot of optimism (which I thank you for that because it has helped me emotionally when I felt like breaking down), but I still wish I could fix the things we had problems with, but she wouldn't entertain the idea with it.. she was just done. And that killed me. What would you suggest to do moving forward if I wanted to have her want me again? Because I do love her and I want to revamp the relationship. Same here. It's been more than one year. Tried too many methods, visited many therapists and now I can pretend to be ok around people, friends and family, because I would be ashamed if they know I am still stuck and not moving on as they expected.
I'm confused because after he broke up with me, my ex came to my apartment and gave me all my stuff back (unrequested), but he wants to keep borrowing my dog kennel for "a few months" while he's house breaking his new dog. So he's obviously going to have to see me again. I gave him the option of returning it, but he requested to keep borrowing it. It's just unsettling and I don't know if it's his way of keeping an open door with me...or if he's just being cheap and doesn't want to buy his own dog kennel to only need for a few months. And he's not the type of person to just keep it and never return it. He's very honorable. So I'm confused as to whether this means anything. What if they’d moved on with someone else within 2 months of breaking up, still together 2 months later but hasn’t made any effort to get her stuff from my house an I’m the one pushing for it to be gone or even given the key to the house back which she’s reluctant to do until she has her stuff but makes no effort to collect it. An only time we talk now is about the kids where as before with in the first 2 months of the break up was ringing me or messaging me all time using little excuses for the phone calls but was always a video call so she could see where I am if I didn’t answer or she didn’t recognise where I am she’d ask where I am or why I ain’t answer but stopped soon as she got with him

I had a similar situation and wondered the same thing at one point. It all comes down to what kind of an impact you made. How good you were, and how high the bar is set. Either way people who leave good people for something that should be in their past don't deserve those good people.

Before she left she played me snoh alegra situationship song and now it’s been 3 weeks where I implemented full no contact. And haven’t heard from her. She probably wasnt loyal to you either. Best to move on. How will you ever trust her? Even if you guys get back together, you will always have that thought in your head - "is she hooking up with someone?" and that isnt healthy. If you think you wont have these thoughts, then you can try pursuing.

I am over a year. Its only been a few months for me treating myself well. Lost wieght, stopped drinking alltogether (super depressant for me) and am going to the gym.

I deactivated my Facebook a week after we broke up coz it only gave me more anxiety. I kept checking his profile but he hasn't posted anything since the breakup. I couldn't handle it. I don't know if i did the right thing but I think deactivating has helped me alot. I still think about him but I'm no longer stressed and was able to focus more at work. I plan to stay out of social media for at least a month or until I'm comfortable to go back. Thing is, when i come back, im gonna unfriend him for good. Is that the right thing to do?

Well, my ex & I had a very calm breakup, but honestly, we had a very calm relationship as well. There were some naggings during the course of our relationship, but no big fights as we both dislike conflict. And now, he wants to return something to me, but he keeps the presents I gave to him, so it's not like he wants to get rid of my every memory.
I know we can't be together now, yet I hope, with time, it can change.

You've said multiple times that you should not ignore your ex if they contact you, but what if it's something like "I hate you"? I really need help on this because I don't know what to do
The opposite of Love isn't hate, its indifference.
I wouldn't respond to that one personally, but I could use some context here. Reach out if you need help!
Don't bother replying to something like that. I think when Rory says to not ignore an ex, he means if they come to you in a positive way. Your ex is still emotionally charged and saying stupid things that don't deserve a reply. But you know what the good thing is, "hate" is still a feeling and you want them to have some sort of feeling. I think once they calm down there is a good chance they will reach out again.
@@lalisasmr thanks for your response. It's been almost three months since the breakup and I got this text a week ago. Think not replying makes her think I don't care about her, not sure if she'll bother reaching out if that's her final mindset, but yeah; NC has generally made me feel better and it's way easier now than it was early on.

I am!! So much better that I’m feeling like a million bucks... just some tips from my break up experience... be someone who’s valuable!! Be someone who’s so HIGH VALUE that it makes your ex look at your social media and say “dayummmnnn what did I missed?” And trust me, by the time you get to this level, you will question yourself why would you hook up with a loser like your ex back then.. Go hit the gym, get in shape, eat clean, stay healthy, go get yourself a degree, a masters, a PHD whatever, go complete that goal of yours that you have been procrastinating on, go out and meet people, socialise, go travel and all... live your life to the fullest.. your ex wanted you to leave them alone and leave them behind. so all u gotta do is to MOVE FORWARD.. Look forward into the future.. and don’t look back!! Our eyes are grown at the front of our head, not at the back so look to the front and not to the back... 😇😇

On the day of the breakup I asked him to text me when he got off work that following Sunday so we could meet and exchange belongings, and he said okay and that was the last thing said between us. The day came and he never reached out. He still hasn’t. I’m not really sure what to do or if it means anything but could you explain this a bit please?
Same thing happened to me today.
Yesterday she posted a story on IG. Unfortunately I broke no contact because she needed help (dumper here). She agreed that I had a good solution, she them proceeded to talk to me. She said while I go to your place to get it (thing that could help her) I'll take my stuff back. We've been together for 4 years, I have a lot of clothes that belong to her here.
We have been broken up for almost 3 weeks. She hasn't contacted me today to come by. I don't really care. Im more curious as to what it means.

Then now I found that she is seeing her personal trainer. Its all my fault bc she fell out of love bc I stop courting her and showing her affection. I got too comfortable. She was perfect for me. hmmmmm i suspect still some bitterness. Unless there was extremes IE abuse/ cheating, I think you have to remember you loved this person. I hope to never get to that point, where I would be unaffected by the death of a person I loved. Just my opinion

He told me he had thought it through. No way was he going to change his mind. He was very calm about it. But he did cry and tell me he loved me still.
He also said maybe in the future we can be friends.
Then I pushed him and found out he's already been seeing someone else for several weeks before the breakup.
So he was obviously emotionally attached to her already and felt ready to break it off with me.
I'm devastated and I keep hoping he will reach out or come back, but he's moved on I think.
It hasn't even been 2 weeks for me. 😪

Ok I moved on started nc. Then 2 days later a photo of my ring is texted to me by my ex. I reply and now we might meet at a bar on a Monday or Tuesday.....its been 7months. I thought she had someone not sure what to think,?
A lot has changed for the good then bad. It was my temper that lost it. I was so close but impatient.

Neon_ one_neo, don’t read into the blocking and/or unblocking. I did, and it negatively consumed me for several months. If you’re not receiving calls or texts, then that should be a sign in and of itself. You’re letting her control you, and she can feel you’re anxiously awaiting for her to reach out. Consume yourself with an activity or other people to get you going & improve yourself. Good luck!

26 days of no contact already.. I do miss her but i think she is not gonna reach out.(She initiate the breakup 1st) I knew her so well and how egotistical she can be but i will remain no contact forever. Any updates i will reply here. Btw thanks rory, you helped me see things in different perspectives and views. I admit i kinda fucked up with being needy, jealousy and all that pushed her away. I will learned my weakness and become more stronger and i hope one day despite how stubborn she is i hope her feelings to me will return and back into my arms.

It is never a good idea to reach out when you are feeling emotionally out of control. All it will do is push your ex further away and reinforce the idea that the breakup was the right thing to do. If you can't handle seeing what your ex is doing on social media, consider taking a break or using that feature on FB to take a break from seeing his stuff specifically. You aren't doing yourself any favors acting like a crazy, jealous ex. Go into NC and leave him alone until he reaches out. Don't force him to block you, because trust me, that feels worse.

My ex has been with the new guy for about 6 or 7 months now I’m pretty sure she’s moved on lol I did see her last month at a get together I planned for my friends(I’m friends with her cousin) her cousin kinda dragged her along to it but it went well seeing my ex after all that time I haven’t talked to her since that night and don’t really want to unless she texted me if she were to come back I think my answer would be no cuz when I finally saw her and caught up she had not changed and it didn’t seem like she worked on herself she just kinda rushed into a relationship after she ended things with me plus we had to hide we were together from her mom and I don’t really want to go back to hiding she’s hiding her new relationship too but I know that hiding will lead to problems but I kinda doubt she would come back and said she messed up
Camille CE the way I see it my friend is I don’t hate her for what happened I still have some love for her cuz she was my first and I was her first for everything so I Always feel a lil something for her but her and I are young so can’t expect people to stay together forever I tried my hardest to make things work I even waited a whole year after our first breakup to get back with her which resulted in a situationship but besides that when I saw her that night she never once mentioned the guy she’s with and when I asked her how she’s been her life’s been going down the drain she’s failed classes in college, her sibling is suicidal, her father no longer wishes to speak to her so he abandoned her and she has to help her mother with bills I felt awful for her but it is not my place to do anything because she made the decision to walk away I’m sure her bf is good to her and I need to do my own thing and I rather work on myself than date if my ex were to ever come back it probably won’t be years for like 5 years or even longer

Camille CE well my family had a talk with me about it and they all had a feeling things would end because of how messed up her family is and the fact that we hid we were together I leaned u can’t build a relationship based on deceit and she could only ever love me as much as she loved herself when we were in the situationship after our first break up it was like we were still together so we were in the situationship for a year so basically two years of us being in each other’s lives whenever I went over to her home when her mother wasn’t home I eventually learned that that is wrong I’m an unwanted guest in that house and I don’t belong there has she learned that? No but seeing him and her together a few times I just assume she’s happy and maybe she finally has what she’s wanted in someone as for me I’m thankful for what I’ve learned from being with her and I wanna focus more on my college stuff, my job and just being a better me every day I’ve changed since being with her and maybe it’s better that I’m no longer with her I do miss her a lot but I can let her go it’s been about 7 months now since being single and I still don’t wanna date plus she told everyone about him right away after she started dating him like two weeks later after she ending things again she was dating the new guy so I’m sure she had him set up

It's easy to get over someone if you weren't really committed, weren't official, and you were talking to someone else. It's a different story when you were with someone for a few years and very much committed to just them. Can you really call it NC or moving on when you had someone else lined up and ready to go? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you aren't suffering, but this doesn't sound like a breakup.

@@Sali_B I'm sorry you were hurting. I guess I don't understand pride outweighing love, but that's just me. Each of us have our own way of healing. If moving on to another person works for you, go for it. The only thing you should consider is that you need to deal with the feelings from the last relationship in order to have a healthy relationship with someone else. it might sound weird but im the type of person that when I realized that someone does not care as much . I just ask myself why should I? .and I don't beleive in jumping to new relationship when u are not emotionally available. it would not even be fair to the next person if im thinking about someone else.

I just don't understand why a respectable, kind and loving person won't give me a proper closure to our relationship?? I can understand an asshole whose a player wanting to ghost someone but not someone who has great communication skill n is attentive can just fade from a relationship yet constantly reach back to give me hope... I truly wish I did not see this video. My ex has been with the girl he dumped me for for 5 months now. It´s killing me to hear that I should give up. When he dumped me, he had only known her for 4-5 days. He´d been with me and lived with me for years. Only days before he broke up with me, he called me from abroad saying that he missed me terribly and would move around the world with me when I wanted to take my masters degree. I try so hard to improve myself and to improve the ways he did "not like" about me. But I feel fucked.
