At the end of the day, we have zero control over other people. We can dislike it, feel hurt and feel the desire to lash out on them. But it's better to be the bigger person and understand that these feelings are chemicals running through our brain. Over time the emotional thinking will turn into rational thoughts and life goes on.
TBH I would never take back someone that hooks up or starts dating someone within 4 months of the break up.(after a LTR) I don't want someone back once they got with someone else. No thanks.

If they're dating somebody new, it's also a new blow of insult to the fresh wound of breaking up the relationship. It's disrespecting twice. It's a double kick. Would you really want to get back with someone that had the courage to break what you considered valuable and this person knew it. ? This person gave twice a rat ass about your feelings and then decided to hurt you even more. ?
I doubt you'll ever read this comment, but I have to reply to you anyway, because I'm going through this myself. She broke up with me 4 months ago and has been in a relationship with someone new not that long after. My thoughts are these: She's not looking at it the way that you are. She's not trying to go out of her way to hurt you. I'm assuming she doesn't want to be in touch with you (doesn't want to talk to you) and YOU found out she's seeing someone new. What she's doing is for HERSELF only. She is looking out for #1. She wants to find happiness and not have to be alone. She wanted that with you, but for whatever reason, she no longer felt like it was a possibility and so she left you. She didn't do it to hurt you. She did it to take care of her own needs and wants. YES, she hurt you in the process, but she's blocking that out. She's more concerned with her own feelings and well-being now. As for the new guy, well, this is still about HER and HER wants and needs to be fulfilled. She wants to be loved and love and she didn't think you were the one for her anymore and now she has met someone new, with NO history of hurt, or arguments. He is NEW and EXCITING and most probably is treating her well and so she is letting herself become part of a new relationship and again, she is not doing this to hurt you even more. She's 100% thinking about her own feelings and what will make her happy and the prospect of being in a new relationship with this new guy is something she wants to explore and your feelings and my feelings do not matter to her anymore. HER feelings matter and as hard as this is to say (because it's killing me also), is that HIS feelings now matter to her as well, the way yours and mine once did to our ex's. Nothing of what they are doing is directly meant to hurt us, even though it does. It doesn't matter to them. They will not put their happiness on hold so that you don't feel hurt. My ex has been very mean and cold and heartless with me, but that's her way of keeping me away from her and now him. Do I want their relationship to last? HELL NO. Might it last? Yes, it might. What can you and I do? Not much. We have to swallow the pain and distance ourselves from it. Right now, you and I represent a threat to their happiness and getting in the way of a future with the new guy, so you and I have to be smart and keep our distance and let things happen the way they will. We can't force them to leave these new guys, who have the advantage over us. These guys did not hurt our ex's the way we did. They are getting all the love from them that we did and it hurts so much, but the more you show them that, the more you end up pushing them into the guys arms. I found this out 2 days ago and I called and called and she got so scared that she called the police and I got a warning to not call her again. That was extremely hurtful but it just reconfirms that our ex's are only thinking about their own happiness and well-being at this point, not ours. WE have to think of our own happiness so that WE can get stronger and become confident, independent and attractive again, which is something we are not at the moment in our ex's eyes, AT ALL.

Uuurgh, why is everyone so bitter? My ex had broken up with me to date another girl. It hurt like a mother but he had the decency to cut me loose. He worked on the radio so I had the pleasure of hearing them both be all lovey dovey. After I cut all communication he returned some months later saying he missed me when I left. After a decade of us together, we talked about her. If it had not been for her, we wouldn’t have been together and happy all of this time. He left her, so maybe that made a difference in me taking him back.
to tell you the truth, your story is my best case scenario.....i had a decade with my ex, hoping she wake the hell up. as i needed the separation to wake the hell up in my total life too (which i didnt realize till she left). I'm better for the break, but think all my new realizations and ambitions would make for a great life for us. I was lost in stagnation before she left just didn't know it. best and worst thing to ever happen to me

I thought I worked my best but clearly I am still shitty I didn't love him more .give him more time and attention I needed to I wanted to . But I got distracted by my own traveling . I found out my ex got a new girl about 3 weeks after our break up from a friend. He possibly had her even sooner than then. Right now I'm actively trying to move on. Trying not to worry whether he will come back or not even though it is still in the back of my mind. But I've been trying to meet new people and trying not to worry. If he comes back, he comes back, if he don't, he don't. Part of me is hoping I find better, while another part is hoping he at least reaches out one day.

-After a wave of emotions, I found the strength to forgive myself for not being good enough because part of me was happy to see her smile while strolling with the other guy. It was enough assurance to know that I did love her enough to let her go. Though the image is forever burned into my brain, it was enough for me to finally reach the acceptance stage that the relationship is really over.

I have been though this before. My ex started to meet someone new only 1 week after the breakup and yes it was painful as F*CK but I said to my self, I rather kill my self than taking her back! After almost 4 years of relationship and to jump straight away with someone new? Nah not on my watch! If she could do something so heartless right after a relationship then she’s a person that I could never trust. I took it as cheating! But the funny part is after a couple of weeks her so called new lover dumped her och what happend after that? You guessed right she started to contact me and saying that she was sorry and she wasn’t her self and was confused and so on. You may have been a little too harsh on her. She probably started dating another guy because most likely the thought of moving on from you sounds impossible to her and needed a rebound guy to take her mind off you. She probably loves you very much. I know cause I'm a girl and I have considered getting a rebound guy simply because I couldn't get over him. I get it if you don't want her back but instead of saying just that, you said many unnecessary things. She'll move on easier after this though so you kinda did her a favor.

So basically they leave because they believe they can do better. So if they do eventually come back why should we settle for someone who left because they thought they could get better than you. Why should we be 2nd best. I love her so much but if she left then she never truly loved me.

My ex messaged a girl on IG the day after... so I get ya.
He was lining someone up before it was ever over. I gave myself the respect he wouldn't give me and made the choice he was too afraid to make and ended it for good and went straight into no contact.
I took some time to mourn and when I was done I put myself out there again and met a who guy treats me 1000x better than he ever did and whom I have a connection and attraction for that is 1000x stronger. Now I am glad for her. And I hope it works out for him because he's lost me for good now that I have experienced a higher quality man.

What if your ex cowardly ended the relationship by completely ghosting after an argument? Idk if he’s seeing anyone new. We live 2 hrs apart and we argued about our distance. I’m 7 weeks deep in NC. I tried to reach him for a week after he went silent then I gave up. Together 6 mos, otherwise a very happy relationship.
Oddly enough the last couple texts I sent a week after he went silent (just before thanksgiving) are showing he didn’t open them until Dec 22nd. But didn’t hear a peep from him for Thxgiving, Xmas, NYE, or my bday.
Rosemarie_Fit ghosting somebody is a very cowardly thing to do, and I question your ex's ability to have a healthy relationship if this is how they deal with situations! Otherwise at the moment there is nothing that you can do short of continuing no contact and working on yourself! Sorry that happened to you.

@Where did I leave my shekels? lol yeah. I say do what you gotta do to move on so long as you're not being petty (ie. Sleep with their friends, get friends to ask about them, etc.). Because they will get a word of it. Do what's in your best interest if it's for your own good in the long run, even if it means blocking them so you aren't tempted to check their social media presence.

Hey Rory my ex and I dated for a year she broke up with me 1.5 months ago because she felt we were disconnected more friend than romantic and that since I’m 43 and she is 37 and she wants a child(but I’ve told her over and over before I do too) that there is chance (in her mind) that we won’t have one. This was on Oct we kinda kept in contact and met up once but after watching the videos I implemented no contact (in feb)..days before at least 30days of no contact she reached out she called twice the first I didn’t not answer or return call a wk later she called again I didn’t answer she then texted and said it was an emergency.. I still waited a couple of hours before she texted me again saying nvm I’ll figure it out. Sorry to bother you. I then call her about an hour after that message. She is having a family situation she was crying when I called asked to be friends again I stood my ground.
What if he met her after 1 year off the breakup. We were together from our 16 until 24. I was his first girlfriend, and after 1 year he met her. He even talked about travelling with her in july. Ther are together since october. During the conversation he also asked about my lovelife. If I had a lot of fun dates. Or i have a new boyfriend. He also asked about my parents and if there is any chance to have a meet up with my parents. Because still (after 1 year and 2 months) he has a strange feeling towards my parents. Yeah mate, good advice, but it was a hell of a lot easier to deal with at 22, 32 & even 42. At 52, it’s quite a bit more difficult to get one’s head around, especially when you’re emotionally involved with her kids..who you can’t now see or be involved with. Good advice to most people though.

Its been 6 + months since the break up, last contact was 3 weeks ago and I kinda ignored her about a week before, so I may have pushed her away...hence she's in a new relationship. Have a similar story. He acts as if I he’s the victim- the one who’s most hurt. I don’t know about that, but I do know that I never wanted to break up with him in the first place. He was the one who told me he didn’t want me anymore and I felt so suffocated from trying to reach someone who wasn’t interested in me anymore. Hurts like hell, especially since he messaged me 5 months since the breakup, a little more than a month since our last contact, that he’s found someone new and wanted us to be friends. I refused. I was already moving on pretty well and now I feel like I’m back to square one. It’s okay. I know things will be better. Maybe not now, but I’m trying to be hopeful and excited for what the future holds. We’ll get through this. Time is our friend.

My ex lined up a new woman then slow faded me. I miss talking to him. But now I realize what a dick he was in the end the way he finished with me. I broke up with my ex about 2 weeks ago and i regret it now. He started seeing someone new 2 days after the break up. He texted one of my friends on facebook and sent her a picture of him and his new girlfriend but told my friend not to tell me anything. So why sending her the picture if he doesn't want me to know ? I got mad and i contacted him like i knew nothing about his new realishionship just to see how he was doing. He said he's doing well and wished me luck. Didn't contact him since. I used to listen to this video before. But today I found out that my ex takes another girl out on a date. He told me that he would try to figure the problem out with me but need some time alone first. I found out that girl post on social media going out with my ex during the no contact period (because I give time). I am so confused and angry. I come here again to listen to the video. @@subyawana hope you're doing well, my situation was similar, but the guy is a single Dad who also has two kids, she left me because I was having issues due to the Covid quarentine and I was going through a hard time financially. That guy has a nice job and now can give her what I couldn't give that moment. We were also engaged for one year.

she's in the states and he's in Italy but older and a great career more than likely a romantic man with an incredible accent and beautiful country side for her to enjoy..(I've seen the pictures) they only broke up originally because he takes care of his elderly parents in Italy and he didn't move with her to the States.. to me it seems like unfinished business.. which will eventually be our case as well...

@@gone684 The biggest enemy is social media. I'm a big stalker usually so when we broke up I was always checking her social media. The first time she posted something with her new boyfriend destroyed me. I started doing no contact , stopped stalking her and ended up with the mindset of (I need to work on myself because even if I was with her , it wouldn't work). None of that was easy .An ugly and long breakup period , Few oopsies along the way , few texts ,few calls. It's my first time living this so I can't blame myself nor her for all of this. Time is your biggest enemy in the short term but in the long run , he's there to back you up. Months have went by and i'm honestly doing fine , almost fully healed. The only reason I would think about her is because I don't have somebody else in mind.
