Thank you for sharing. I have watch at least 25 video's trying to find the right method to do this and today finally I came across your you tube channel. Your work is the best!
wow!! I just finished a project for the first time and my finger is killing me from rubbing....wish I had of had this product!!! good luck getting back up and running you have a great product there.
Just ordered your paper from your Etsy store and so excited to get to work with it. I discovered your paper via watching The Crafsman Steady Crafting video. Just wanted to give a shoutout to him. 😊I appreciate your reply to my question regarding the pigment ink for the Epson, so will definitely will use my laser printer.
Just wanted you to know that my order has arrived safe & sound. Thank you so much! I will let you know how it goes once I try it, I'm very excited but want to do it right.
I'd use a rubber roller to press out the air and evenly apply the image to the wood. Also, a sponge brush or roller would more evenly apply the gel medium, no brush strokes or missed spots
I just wanted to say that you have a great video tutorial and I really wish you'd make some more. You've got a lot of subscribers that would follow you. Thank you for sharing
1. apply liquitex for 10 seconds 2. place the print onto the wood 3. rub for at least one minute, but probably way longer because the video was cut a bunch of times 4. upload a video to youtube saying that no rubbing is required
The "no rubbing" he refers to in the title is not the process you see in the video. He is saying you don't have to rub the paper away after the medium dries, as is shown in many other transfer videos.
Hello Right now We are out of supply of our paper. Our supplier changed manufacturers before we knew it. We do not know how long we will be replenished. The shop will be closed for the time needed to find a reliable source. Many of you are experienced users and will understand that their patience will be rewarded. We regret for the newcomers this momentary break of stock. Two and a half years ago we invented the concept of a transfer paper that does not need to be rubbed, the adventure continues! Thanks for your patience News will be posted on our Facebook Page facebook.com/Palissade.Image Tom
Hi Tom. Waited a while for my shipment to come to the states. I'm afraid ten sheets later my HP Laserjet 2600 Color printer does not like this no matter how many settings I tried including the 120 g/sm, the light gloss, transparency, etc. I added blue printers tape to keep it from curling into a jam. No luck. Really wanted it to work and I'm out of ideas. It just jams. Thanks.
Kate Rose Sorry for what is happening to you. This question would be easier to answer on our Facebook page where many solutions and examples are exposed facebook.com/Palissade.Image
Yeah, I've been all over the FB posts and explanations. I have a Macbook Air and use OS High Sierra Version 10.13.12 Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB so it seems okay and of course the Windows fixes don't apply. In terms of my printer features I can choose Glossy (106 -120 s/sq), Light 60-74, Light Glossy 75-105 g/sqm, Heavy Glossy 121-163, or Transparency (which totally garbled it). I'll take a photo of what the paper is coming out like after printing. It's a good color printer otherwise.
Kate Rose As I am a Mac user myself, just sending me a private message would have been easier, i could have made screenshots for you. UA-cam is not a chat room, impossible to place a picture here
Hi Tom. I'm soooo excited that I received my paper yesterday. I had trouble getting it to print as it kept jamming in the printer. I guess my "fine paper" setting is not sufficiently fine/thin. I put a tiny bit of glue stick on the top and attached it to a typical printer paper and had no problem. Ignore all the people with the awful comments. I think your paper is awesome!!!!! Thank you for creating it.
Hello Carol This is only because you didn't go to the "advanced" settings of the computer. It would be easier for me to help you if you go to our Facebook page, facebook.com/Palissade.Image Here are printer settings on Windows facebook.com/298417670329712/posts/753860341452107?sfns=mo
Hello! I'd like to buy the paper you are using, but it seems the linked Etsy store is no longer active. Is there any other place where you sell the paper? Thank you. :-)
Inna Ionita The Etsy store link is active but as we ran out of supply it's better to follow our Facebook Page to be warned for news, sorry facebook.com/Palissade.Image
the transfer came out great. My main complaint is that the paper is so thin, it would often get destroyed in a laser machine to copy the image. I didn't try taping to a piece of paper, which I could try to see how it would go through a laser copy printer. I happen to have an ink jet machine myself. thanks, Jill
mezzogirl1962 I'm sorry that you went trough all those experiences, best for me to help you is to talk on my Facebook page, I'll explain how everything can work fine 🌺 facebook.com/Palissade.Image
Mahendra Tiwari Thanks for your nice message, I hope you're making nice projects or maybe started a side business like a lot of our clients have done 😉
Hi Tom Thanks for your quick response. Your video is very instructive ... I am eager to try your paper .... I may even try it on a good fabric and I'll let you know the result!
For HP printers, there is a web browser based user interface that gives you access to a lot of elements including paper thinness. Lets talk about it on my FB page, we will see how to get this work
Have you or others tried this technique to apply an image to plastic, such as a model kit? Being able to cleanly transfer just the printing (such as lettering) onto a model surface without any backing film (which is how typical water-slide decals work) would be a fantastic. The halo created by backing film is often noticeable on some decals when applied to a painted model, and also "silvering" when the decal film lifts up from the model surface can often make a decal look bad. So being able to transfer just the printed image/text without ant residual backing film, would potentially solve a host of issues scale-model often run into.
The transfer of the image is made by the glue and keeps embedded in it. We do not know glues or gel mediums that grips on plastic so we do not recommend this process for non gripping surfaces
I like what you doing its amazing, but I want to ask about the pepers, what kind of paper you use please, it's not the usual paper I know ,cause it will tear apart😢
pauline whitehead Inkjet is a water based die ink, it's reaction to wetness is quite bad, laser is a resin based dry toner. All video talking about gel medium transfer recommend laser printed pictures. More info on my FB page 😊😊 facebook.com/Palissade.Image/posts/652771548227654:0
Hi, I work for NTD Television. We love this video. Can we please use it across all of our platforms and credit you / link your account. Please let me know. Thanks.
So Very Merry Hi, Same process as envelopes or labels, use a blank paper, sign it and print it, you'll see what cycle it makes, usually blank side on top is good.
There are some setting in all Windows recent versions that let you choose the thickness of the paper flic.kr/p/TtHy2N and same settings are also on the printer's LCD screen. You will find more details on our Facebook page facebook.com/Palissade.Image
Hi Tom. This is beautiful. One thing I want to know is that can Modge Podge be used for image transfer? You also showed modge podge while describing different options for the activity
So you say it all depends on how you apply the gel medium yet you don't "really" go into how to do that, how thick etc.Clearly if there is not enough the image won't transfer but what if there is too much? How do you know when you have applied enough. Any hints on what to look for in the light or any pointers as to how much gel to apply. Also wondering if a liquid medium like a glazing medium would work (so easy to get even coverage). About to experiment with your papers tonight. Printing on my Brother went well as long as the paper type is adjusted on the printer.
Cynthia Neely There is something belonging to the common sense that I should remind. A transfer is made by a glue, gel medium or any varnish, not by the paper. The paper is an intermediate medium that will be used for the glue to make the transfer, you want an extreme thin layer of ink/toner to be transferred, not a paper, the quantity of glue is more linked to the surface to be covered than for its thickness. So you need to apply enough glue to make sure any single pixel is going to be glued to the final support. If using different supports, uneven ones or textured ones you become an experienced user that will think of the hint to get to be able to make a perfect transfer, then you will make sure there us no space empty of glue. Before this paper, it wasn't possible to do it for a simple reason, ink was mixed with the paper fiber, when you remove the paper you can't see how much ink is removed from it. I hope it's more clear for you! Becoming a new advanced user is what a lot of users are doing when visiting our Facebook page facebook.com/Palissade.Image
Fantastic product! A few questions please: Is it necessary to wear gloves when working with this paper? What do you use to seal your transferred image? I have an Epson printer that uses pigment based inks instead of dye based so do you think the pigment based inkjet printer might be an option? Thank you.
Marjie NS816 No gloves necessary, this is water based acrylic gel medium. Sealing is made with same gel medium already used or any other one For pigment ink printers, I have only tried Epson work force with dura brite inks, i didn't like the results, i can't affirm that claria inks will do the same. Laser printer recommended! on 200 videos I've seen on youtube, only unexperienced youtubers are not talking about laser printers. Difference is more than subtle, toner powder is already an encapsulated resin that will be melted to the paper by hot rolls. Inks don't have same properties, they make tiny bubbles and does not dry properly. Find my palissade image transfer FB Page on Google, few explanations and examples can be found.
Hello tom, super great video tutorial can't wait myself to do that :) , just wanna ask after you remove the paper did you put a gel on the wood, just like sir adrian do in SLR coaching then let it dry as a final touch or you just let it dry after removing the paper? One more question is it ok to use varnish for the finale? please reply thanks. God bless!
Gavin TP Yes Gavin, always seal the pores of acrylic to close them and to protect from UV. Like any printed paper they don't like long exposition to light. You can add as many coats as you want including varnishes or waxes.
pheonixphire Hello, it works on canvas of course and where gel mediums or water based varnishes works, please see many examples on our Facebook page facebook.com/Palissade.Image

1. apply liquitex for 10 seconds
2. place the print onto the wood
3. rub for at least one minute, but probably way longer because the video was cut a bunch of times
4. upload a video to youtube saying that no rubbing is required

hey, a rub is a rub

top marks for that one eric
If the paper is extremelly glossy no rubbing is necessary. You are just peeling off the paper.
Thanks for the instruction video. Goodnight an joy be with you all.

Hi,
Same process as envelopes or labels, use a blank paper, sign it and print it, you'll see what cycle it makes, usually blank side on top is good.
Nice! It reminds me of temporary tattoos!
Do you have to print the image in reverse? And how do you feed it through the laser printer without it getting jammed or wrinkled?
There are some setting in all Windows recent versions that let you choose the thickness of the paper flic.kr/p/TtHy2N and same settings are also on the printer's LCD screen. You will find more details on our Facebook page facebook.com/Palissade.Image

Hi Tom. This is beautiful. One thing I want to know is that can Modge Podge be used for image transfer? You also showed modge podge while describing different options for the activity
All acrylic based glues, gel, varnishes can be used as soon as they become transparent when dry
Nice 👌🏻 Thanks for sharing
Which paper did you use in this video for printing?

The problem when giving to many detailed explanations to users is that they get confused
Fantastic product! A few questions please: Is it necessary to wear gloves when working with this paper? What do you use to seal your transferred image? I have an Epson printer that uses pigment based inks instead of dye based so do you think the pigment based inkjet printer might be an option? Thank you.
Marjie NS816
No gloves necessary, this is water based acrylic gel medium. Sealing is made with same gel medium already used or any other one
For pigment ink printers, I have only tried Epson work force with dura brite inks, i didn't like the results, i can't affirm that claria inks will do the same.

Yes Gavin, always seal the pores of acrylic to close them and to protect from UV.
Like any printed paper they don't like long exposition to light. You can add as many coats as you want including varnishes or waxes.
Thanks so much tom!
Your artwork is amazing!
But i would like to know how many hour exactly are needed for the gel to dry. Thank you!
Joana JOY
It's quite fast now in summer, you can use hairdryer, sun, heater etc. Most of the time it's less than 3 hours
Nice art
Would be great if I had a laser printer ... but I don't ... have ink jet. Thank you for the video though.
What kind of paper were used for printing the designs?
Do you think this could work with canvas as well? Or is this specific to wood transfers?
