    I did this years ago. It doesn't matter how you print the image. You can take any picture, even cut one from a magazine. It's the stuff you put on it that makes it work. Some of the comments complaining or even asking for you to hold their hand are annoying. I appreciate you giving this content to us free of charge.

    As an adaptation to this have you tried using water slide decals printed with a pigment inkjet printer or laser printer? It gets rid of the rubbing stage and possibly the coats of glue on the canvas and the transparent decal. A spray sealant might be a better overcoat. Of course the other option is to get a large inkjet printer that can print to canvas. For smaller letter/legal size inkjet printers there is printable canvas & fabric sheets usually found in craft stores. Use some tiling/poster software to split a single large image into smaller sections. This would allow you to create the look of a larger piece using existing printers.

I used a system called Modge Podge, which produces similar results also requiring the use of water and a cloth as you describe in your demonstration.

First time I did it it came out ok but not as vivid in color,the 2nd time I wet it too much and took some of the photo off the canvas. This will be my 3rd time trying; which is why I went looking for someone else to show me the how to. First two times I just followed instructions I read with no video.

      Hey Joe it sounds like you used an inkjet print... the print needs to be a laser print (pigment based) usually a colour photocopy at the print shops is a laser print... Because the inkjet is waterbed it will wash away and become like a watercolour... 😜 let me know how you go....

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Рік тому

      Joe ... if the image is coming off the canvas and you used a laser print (so it hasn't transferred) it can be: 1. the surface of the canvas wasn't prepared properly (primed with gesso) 2. the solution dried while you were doing the transfer process (working faster will resolve this)... I hope that helps... 😜 Have FUN!!!!🎨🎨🎨

      Thankyou 🙏 the photo is printed on a laser printer (colour photocopier) onto regular photocopy paper 80-100GSM … you can use any canvas and transfer onto many other surfaces using Powerprint transfer medium from Powertex Art Supplies ☺️I hope that’s helpful 😜🎨🎨🎨

    Where can I buy this product such as glows and glossy?

  • @amandaparkus1128

    How far above the canvas was the blow dryer? I couldn't see how tall of a box you used. Also the hole of the box was just barely in the edge of the shot. Just thought you should know because I'm sure the proximity of the dryer to the canvas is pretty crucial to prevent burning and incorrect setting..? But I did really enjoy your video can't wait to try!

      Hey Amanda Im glad you enjoyed the video... The hairdryer was approximately 40cm from the canvas, with the hole cut in the centre of the box... don't leave it unattended ☺❤🎨🎨

      It’s thinner than gel medium… it actually a decoupage glue… I love it for so many different applications 😊 you could try gel medium & see how it goes ❤

    ***May I ask what kind of photo to start with?
    Is it ink jet copied on photo paper? Thank you for taking the time to answer.
    I know there are a lot of questions being asked.
    ***PS. I always use captions just so I don’t miss any information. It’s nice you offer that option, many do not. TY

    Could a picture be painted over once it is transferred onto canvas? I've never tried this but I'm interested. I am a mixed medium artist (acrylic) and wonder if it would work before being sealed.

    The photo just should be black and white or this method could use for colourful image? Please explain about paper too

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  11 днів тому

      The photo needs to be a laser print onto regular photocopy paper 80-100GSM... it can be colour or black and white - whatever you prefer... colour photocopies from the print shop are usually laser prints... I hope that helps ☺ Enjoy creating!

      I definitely try it... it would be really interesting... it would need to be on a light-coloured pour thats not too textured 😜There is a way of transferring onto textured surfaces with the medium 😜

    I have a question please.... but when you use your paste, or whatever it is you use to adhere to the canvas. Can you use Decoupage paste?

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  11 місяців тому

      Hey Elena I use Powerprint Photo transfer from Powertex Art Supplies... all the details are I the description... I haven't used decoupage glue to do a photo transfer... you can try it - nothing ventured nothing gained 😜 I LOVE the results I get with the Powerprint 🎨 I hope that helps

    Thanks a lot for the tutorial!!! I have a question. Can I apply a photo to the canvas with texture paste or plaster, or with acrylic paint. Or does the canvas have to be absolutely clean? Thank you.

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Рік тому +1

      Hey there... you can certainly experiment! I find it doesn't transfer as well to textured surfaces however you can overlay the image over light coloured surfaces e.g. black & white - where the image is white there is no ink so the acrylic painted layer will come through creating a ghost image
