    wow, this is awesome! i thought it would be soooo complicated and take forever, but you have come up with such a fast and easy method! thank you so much! i'm definitely going to experiment with this now that i know that pretty much anyone can you it and you don't need a projector or some giant printer like i thought you would.

    Those dollar tree magic sponges used to remove wall smudges also work- can dip in warm water. Use a gentle but firm hand.

    Thanks for this, I love the process of transfers in my work and most of mine are large pieces too. Sometimes a small transfer makes a big difference..

    kids soft toothbruch works better than rubbing by hand, i do onto leather, been looking to try a canvas for a new home gift so glad this popped up, its great. thnx.

    I have a piece of cloth with a Native American design imprinted on it. I plan to have a local print shop duplicate the actual size design. Then I will use your process.

      Regular copy paper is perfect. Laser jet printer only!

    I see you printed this photo out in a self serve FedEx printer, I assume it was an inkjet printer??
    but did you use photo transfer paper??? Or regular print paper???

      At home, it is usually have InkJet. At printers, there is usually LaserJet

      Always use laser jet. FedEx only has laser jets

      The cheaper paper is much easier to work with - heavy paper is a nightmare with this technique.

      oh no, I just got pants done with a thick Matt paper. Is it a nightmare to remove or does it simply not work/have the same effect. @@anikapaldi7161

    Don’t worry about loosening the canvas, after your dine apply and rub some water on the backside of the canvas and in a bit itll stretch and straighten

    Great video. What about copyright? The photographer has copyright to the photo & anyone famous has copyright of their image. How do you get around this? Many thanks

      @@karenl6086 I’m using an old image from 1930s before copyright laws changed. Public domain. Also even if it was a new photo, I’m making an original art piece and changing the photo more than 30%. If you mass produce then it would be an issue. You can also credit the photographer in the title of the work.

    thank you, you have become my inspiration to make a table in the blade runner style... I just need to look for where they print A4 photos with a laser :) and after transferring the photos to the wooden table, do I need to protect it with wood varnish immediately after wiping off the paper or wait a few hours to do so? did the photos dry better? or not wait?

    I think revealing only part of the image and leaving some of the paper on would add to the interest of the overall image!

    Would this method work on thicker paper? I have 170 GSM paper. I will print at home with my Canon Pro-300 and be transferring it onto woodboard.

      Yes! Same process
      Add a layer of clear gesso to the board before you do your transfer to give it some more tooth to adhere to. I use liquatex clear gesso.

      You can use mod podge foto transfer if you want to do it on glass ...works fine

    Quick question...I did a poster print (fed ex office laser) print 18X24 and used mod podge to adhere to canvas all was fine...started removing the paper and the transfer was looking great. Wet it looked awesome colors popping! then next day I did more paper removal and still yet I got paper hazing..I thought I had removed enough paper and clear coated it....but the transfer darkened and still yet paper hazing showing...I wonder if it can be salvaged,saved....Help Me! 🤕 Maybe the poster print paper was to thick????

      I’ve never used mod podge. Maybe it’s the poster paper …hmmm. Don’t give up!

      I had te same thing with the regular mod podge and than I tried it with the foto transfer mod podge and it work alot better

      Ah, SO glad to see a Modge Podge-related question, as I have use Modge Podge - acid-free as a glue & sealer...
      Haven't tried this method yet, and was wondering if I could just use my acid-free Modge Podge. Will let you know x

    You should get the images printed on oversize printer (onwhite bond). B/W. It should work.

      @hollywouldstudios depends where you go. You need a printer that does copies of blue prints. I used to use them. They are b/w laser printers. They will print as wide as 36" and as long as you want. Some places only have a 24". Just sayin' don't give up on the idea. 😊👍

    Hey what about image from fabric to fabric I’m trying to figure it out it must be possible can’t pay their price for a strip of fabric when I know they are raping people so I was gonna try to transfer the image on the fabric to another fabric if you get time I sure would appreciate it.     You can always tighten the canvas back up while it’s stretched by pouring hot almost boiling water over the canvas. Although I’m not sure if it would effect the photo transfer..

      it does not need to be hot.... I use room temp water and it works great. hot water can warp the wood stretcher bars.

    Just take a wet rag and wipe the back of the canvas and it will tighten back up! I do it all the time because I move my art all the time and sometimes little rough with my process!

    I use to make a living doing this..... it sucks..... I quit and now actually hand draw.... learning how to draw is actually easier than this.

      Ya but learning to draw and doing it enough to get good is way different and if you don’t do it 12 hours a day you don’t get good enough to make money at it the term starving artist is real ! Have a good day

      I can "hand draw" and paint, but this is just as valuable if not more valuable in my opinion. It's it's own medium and it's deeply expressive with endless options.
      The various modes and forms of printing, and or projecting images has been used for 1000s of years by artists across the world. It's not a "cheat" to use in place of drawing. It's just a tool and or mode of expression.

      @paulamachado2548 Hey Paula, look into alternative photography processes. Do you have a photography background? You can find many trcks in basic film development to find ways to transfer I could explain tricks in my reply but it would be quite lengthy. I developed a handful of " recipes " that I use. Some I combine with other techniques to make transfers. This method isn't bad at all, but it's so repetitive . Take a course at a local community college, and it will open up a new perspective.
