Hi Angela, here’s Edith I’ve just discovered your videos on borders and filling in spaces in blocks and am fascinated with the possibilities and now know what I need to practise for my Dot to Dot Panel. Thank you for helping me to discover new creative ideas. 😊
Great video - thanks for getting right to the point and not adding any extraneous, useless gab like talking about your cat or the weather as I have seen in other videos.
Love the Dot to Dot FMG, I learned more about rulers and FMG in six weeks than I have in well lets just say a very long time. I was able to use a straight ruler after a practice sandwich on a quilt that was four patches and large blocks, almost done with it hope to post on Facebook before the next challenge. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for these great tips Angela, I love the different effects of the designs you quilted and it’s amazing how different they look. I will be trying these out for sure :)
I really like the effect created by the two parallel lines around a shape to make it pop. Please show us how you do that in another video because I’m guessing you must stitch in the ditch first then echo that by 1/4 inch? The other thing is, I tried using a quilting ruler in the middle of a large quilt but found it very hard to keep it steady due to the bunching up of the quilt in the throat of the sewing machine. Any tips on this issue? Thanks so much again💕
So I don't have the challenge quilt and I don't know if this suggestion will help, but for me I've got a tiny ruler - it's about 1 x 4" - which I've found really helpful when I'm working in tight spaces. It's only really useful if a block is short enough for the edges to reach both points, but it's smaller than my hand, so as long as I can get my hand in enough to push down on the ruler with my index finger and thumb, then it works. (This isn't, I should say, an extra thick ruler like you usually see for use with a ruler foot, but I've never had any issues with it slipping under my FMQ foot.)
What a great idea, I will have to do that! It is echoing, and it's easy once you get the hang of it. As far as using the ruler in the center of the quilt, take your time and work within your finger tips. Those two things make it so much easier!
I had thread breaking when I FMQ on approximately a 45 degree angle to the left, while moving the fabric towards me. The thread did not break, when doing the same 45 degree angle moving to the right, while moving the fabric away from me. I have a Horizon, using a # 12 needle, Aurifil thread and I had the machine on 'start and stop' (not using the foot pedal). Does anyone have any suggestions, what i am doing wrong, when i fmq to the 'left'? I try and move the fabric the same speed, in all directions.

I can't wait to apply this to some of my smaller projects! Thank you for Breaking down all the steps to have an over all design.
It's almost like I know what will be super helpful when using this technique!!

That is the ultimate compliment and the reason that I do this! Thanks for encouraging me with your sweet compliment!
Very interesting way to fill a chevron! Thxs for being so clear!
Thank you for putting these together. It helps me break down the shapes and think about what I can do where. I appreciate you!!
Thanks for the great tips and tricks and for sharing your knowledge!
I especially liked this video from the series. Tying it all together really makes since now. Great job! love your videos :)
Thank you Angela, almost finished my practice piece and ready to go on to a quilt for my grandson. Could not have done it without your help.
I love that so much!!!
Wow! Love this. I may not ever be able to master all this but I’ll sure give it a try. Just beautiful and fun.
I promise that it just takes a little practice! Remember, it's just a couple of basic shapes!

LOLOLOL It's looking so good....dot to dot and feathers make me so happy!
¡Estupendo!
Can a regular ruler be used instead of the specialized ruler you use?

Angela Walters thank you! I will apply your advice.🤗🌸
I love your quilt. Question did you use both the purple and gold thread in the center. Thanks for all that you do for us!!
Yes, I did! I should have mentioned that! Thanks for clarifying.
How would you recommend quilting a string quilt?
Really love this challenge, thank you for your very valuable time and effort.Bernadette Izod
It's been so much fun, hasn't it!!!
What camera are you using
How easily can this be done on a domestic? I’m fairly new and not creative at all. FMQing is a daunting thought.
How did you get to be so confident?

Where can I get that foot?mary jo
Interesting, but I think a dark thread, rather than the pink, would have allowed me to see it better.
