I know this video is a year old, but I’m just coming across your older videos. I love this design! I love how you broke up the negative space with waves to quilt in the “meandering” wishbones. Funny, since I’ve started watching you, I keep looking for projects with negative space to play. I have to try this one! Thank you so much for encouraging the rest of us “primitive” quilters to reach for the sky!
Thanks, Angela, for sharing your talent and time so generously. I binge-watch all of your videos (Midnight & Daytime Quilt Shows) while I quilt, and never get tired of them. You’re hilarious, BTW.
Thank you so much for this stitch! I had a 1-1/2 inch border I didn"t know what to with and this was perfect. And, being purple, it hides a world of sins! I am now trying clam shells for the first time on the outer border. i have started using rulers with this quilt and there so much improvement but is great to free motion part of it to keep improving in that department too. Rock on, Angela!
How exciting! I have bewn watching all your videos so i have an idea how to quilt a baby quilt. The mother is definitely quilt worthy. And i want her and her new daughter to love it! Cant wait to post photos of the quilting. Thank you for being an awesome teacher!
I love your teaching style. I have most if not all your books as well as your Craftsy classes. The last book I just purchased was Free Motion Meandering, should have purchased this one first, but have never been known for doing things in the right order. I have learned so much from these tutorials that I have finally gotten this FMQ to a point that when I look at the first sandwich I did to the , more than I should admit too, to the ones this past weekend there may be hope for me yet! I have only two of your rulers and will acquire the other two which should finish out my “tool box” for retirement. Thank you again for your humor and passion for quilting.
I just love the look of the wishbone, thanks for showing us how to maneuver it. And that curve ruler is another one that I have got to get. I really enjoy watching how you use all these rulers and than add more quilting with it. You are just a great teacher and once again that you so very much for all your time and effort to help all of us. Bless your little heart....Claudia
I did the wishbone in one of my table runners in the triangle block. I did mine fairly dense. As I follow you along I am gaining confidence free hand quilting with my long arm.
Angela, Have you ever been to Va.? No? Well you need a vacation here to teach me in person. TeeHee. I Absolutely Love your teaching technique,. But when I go to do this wishbone, pebbles, etc, anything with a loop, it comes out crazy. I need you to stand over my shoulder and guide me😆. I Love you Darlin’! I’ll just keep practicing. Thank-you for all you do and your teachings
Thanks so much. The best tip I've received is to keep the lines of the wishbones parallel! Duh - you'd think I would have know how important that was but once you said it a light bulb went off in my head. Just tried wishbones and they came out well! Also, your tip about keeping spacing consistent when echoing. That really makes my quilting look better. You've helped so much. Thanks!
Thank you!! Now I don't feel so bad. I only have about 6 ready to finish. It's probably a great idea to quilt them all at once. I always feel like I'm doing a great job of FMQ, just when I get to the end of a project!
love watching your videos, you make me smile often and even laugh out loud. I would like you to quilt a log cabin , i have one I need to finish and I am at a loss .
I love quilting the wishbone design. I have used it in sashing so and borders. It is easier for me to quilt the wishbone in a left to right direction rather than vertically. Just a suggestion for anyone to try and see if it's easier.
I have sew enjoyed this challenge #AngelaWalters! I've learned the basics for finishing quilts & feel more confident in my ability! Yes, some techniques will require more practice... And that's the best part because it means more quilting! I cannot thank you enough! Would love to bring you to our local guild!!
I have recently purchased a longarm machine & joined bluprint. What is the difference in an "own forever" blueprint class & the UA-cam videos of yours I've watched? Which blueprint classes would you recommend? I watched your videos nonstop before I actually threaded my machine. Thanks, I have your rulers & your Shapes book...DebB
Bonjour Angela and a BIG Thank you for all tutorials ! I just want to know If you going to show how to finish quilt If we did sandwichs? Have a very Nice day and thanks for the answer ❤️❤️❤️
Have you ever gone back and added quilting after the quilt was finished, bound and washed? I just finished a “Variable Star” quilt and I’m not happy with some unquilted spaces. Wishbones would look great.
2 questions. My presser foot jumps up and down. What is the best presser foot for free motion quilting. Second, I noticed you put something down on your machine that made the fabric move more smoothly. What was it and where do I get it? Thanks. Ps. Love your ruler and diagrams. You've opened my eyes and I'm having fun.
I am thoroughly enjoying these tutorials. Question: How do I keep the fabric from "pushing, scrunching, ooooching" over, so at some point I have a small fold on the edge of the square I'm quilting. This doesn't happen so much with smaller quilts, but the bigger ones (throw or twin) I'm finding even if I start quilting in the center and work my way out, by the time I get to the far corner I have some folding.
I'm new to quilting I'm abt to give it up I've been searching how to use a quliting ruler to cut squares and why need cutting mat how to use it to cut blocks could you do video or tell me where I can find out how to do these things I don't want to give up I've tried cutting the fabric but I m having a hard time cutting them same size any help I'd appreciate
Angela I love your videos. Question for you, I have Westlee low shank ruler foot for my Judi Dx 5, do you think your ruler from creative grids will work with the foot I have. Westlee starter set ruler is bit thinner than than 1/4”. The Handiquilter Versa ruler doesn’t go behind the foot. Is your ruler same thickness as Versa tool.
Hi, I have a dream machine brother, I have being wanting a quilting machine but can’t make up my mind. Sit down, stand up, long arm and so forth....be nice if someone could go through each one and show which is best. Or could I just try it with my machine. I am no experience in free motion quilting. So I am making quilts without those neat swirling. Just straight lines. Please help, thanks.
It's a 40 wt poly thread called Glide. I just love the sheen of it! Here's a link to what it looks like: quilting-is-my-therapy.myshopify.com/collections/free-motion-challenge-quilting-along/products/pink-glide-thread-spool
But Angela...if they're not quilt worthy, why the hell would I be making a quilt for them? Unless it's for the giant box of wine I'd be consuming while making it...
I tried for 30 min to order rulers. The sight (in my opinion) is very user unfriendly... I’d place an order then go to check out and it constantly told me my cart was empty. Anyone else have these issues, or is it just me?
No worries, Angela. I finally got through. As I suspected, there were several items in my cart. I corrected the amount I wanted and I’m eager to get the rulers. My only reason for even commenting is for constructive criticism. I enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with your UA-cam family!
Angela you are amazing -----thank you so much for all of your effort in putting these videos together to help us.

Angela, thank you so much for all your teaching. If I can’t learn it from you I can’t learn it.
You are no doubt the easiest teacher to learn from. Thank you so much!
That's the ultimate compliment!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!!
Thanks, Angela, for sharing your talent and time so generously. I binge-watch all of your videos (Midnight & Daytime Quilt Shows) while I quilt, and never get tired of them. You’re hilarious, BTW.

Thank you for dedicating this video to those beautiful wishbones that I haven't mastered but love.
You'll get there in no time!!

Thanks Angela looking forward to trying out the wishbone.

This video came at the perfect time! Thank you for sharing, Angela!!
Thank you for all the wonderful videos

It's almost like I have taught this before ;) I am so glad that you find it helpful, that's the number one tip that helps most quilters!
Love your videos. It's a pleasure to watch you. Love how you keep it moving, never boring!

Looks fantastic! I really like the triangular wishbone! I think I will try that one first! So fun! Thank you!
Yeh! Been waiting for the wish bone. Thank you Angela. Can’t wait for the next one. Now, to practice 😩
I will try this in 2 weeks. I have 17 quilt tops to actually quilt!!! Thanks.
Thank you!! Now I don't feel so bad. I only have about 6 ready to finish. It's probably a great idea to quilt them all at once. I always feel like I'm doing a great job of FMQ, just when I get to the end of a project!
Yay!! By time you are done with those, you will be an expert at quilting!!
Tx for teaching me SOOO much!
More fun, thank you Angela this one looks great. 😊

Angela, what is your favorite machine to FMQ on and why?

High Angela. My fabric doesn't glide like yours. My hands really hurt after a few blocks?
Love it
Fun , fun , fun.🤓🤓🤓
Angela, are you using spray basting?

sangeetabeads I find with the low shank you can't use a ruler at the back of the foot, otherwise no problem.
Angela are you doing all the quilting.
Yes I am!!
Thanks beautyful job i like how price this mashin
I've been shopping for an iron. can you recommend a good iron for quilting, and general purpose ironing?
I am also looking for an iron. I want the Oliso Pro but it is pricey!
Sew fun! ❤️

Well....there is that lol! I might be the only one, but sometimes I get guilt-tripped into making quilts......
I tried for 30 min to order rulers. The sight (in my opinion) is very user unfriendly... I’d place an order then go to check out and it constantly told me my cart was empty. Anyone else have these issues, or is it just me?
So sorry for the trouble! If you want to email me at angelawaltersquilting@gmail.com and I'll get you taken care of!

Yay!!! I am so glad it worked out. Thanks so much for your support, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
why don't you draw with a disappearing felt-tip pen first, it would be done smoother....
