I've never seen a pixie hat. I'd wear it! But live in the USA. It's amazing what we find going through things. I'm dieting to fit into my $1 down jacket I bought 2 years ago. We get very cold winters. You inspire me to do a big tidy this winter.
Oh my goodness....a dollar for a down jacket....that's amazing!!!!! And what a fantastic incentive for some weight loss too. Good on you lovely....and good luck!
Thank you Vivi for sharing with us and hopefully knowing that you are sharing with friends and people who wish the best for you somehow makes it a bit easier. Take care.😻🙏❤️
That bag from India is gorgeous! You really are an inspiration. (And I'm 100% with you on the cotton shopping bags - very useful, even if just to keep together all the yarn for a work in progress!)
The last time I had a big sort out (when I moved house) I also set chunks of time dedicated to the task and bagged or boxed donations as I went for easy transport. You are doing a great job Vivi, keep at it! I think that elf hat has Paul’s name on it! 📦
Cheers lovely....I've been doing similar.......as soon as I've filled two or three bags I cart them off for donation.......no regrets, no humming and hawing over them...gone!
Hahaha....I wish! I have, occasionally, found one stashed in one of my books. I always have to remember to flick through them before I donate or sell 'em. 😉
Inspiring and lots of food for thought re method and questions to ask. And woohoo for keeping on keeping on! It can get tiring making all the decisions sometimes. So, cheering you on in your Big Declutter🎉
Hiya Vivi Thankyou for sharing today’s chat/visit loved the elf hat lol! Oh & the 2nd pink ish bikini. Blessings from a chilly night across the pond Ontario Canada 🐝
You could sew a basic protective dust cover bag for your lovely “book” bag from your sister, from one of the raggedy tops in the previous video that you would discard anyway. That would keep it clean and it would last forever!
Hiya. I feel that many items have a season in our lives and then need to be passed on to someone else to enjoy and value. I take photos of items that are sentimental or were given by friends so that can prompt memories before I donate them for someone else to enjoy. Brilliant to watch you debating though - it makes me feel less alone in my journey!🙂
We put a lot of stuff into a charity shop we got it collected as we were moving to our new ground floor sheltered flat two years ago,I still need to put stuff to the charity shop to give us room in the cupboard.
Hi Vivi you are going great guns with the de-cluttering, fair play to you , I’d be lying if I said I must start doing same cause I know I won’t haha I need to be the right frame of mind to do that , keep up the great work 😀
I was of the generation before plastic bags existed so always had a bag. People seem to forget to wash the plastic bags for life regularly. The good thing about the cotton ones is they can be laundered. I was also the youngest of three sisters so all my clothes were passed down... First up best dressed! You brazen hussy flaunting your undergarments on public media ! I was the Ursula Undress of Brid beach back in the day in my white bikini... now I'm a roly poly!
Hahaha........first up best dressed in my home too! All my childhood clothes were my big sister's hand-me-downs.......until I shot up at age 11 or so.........and her stuff was no use!
check those cossies. I had some (about 30 years old)hat the elastic has gone on, The fabric is perfect but the elastic is that wide white rubberised stuff all overlocked into place and has gone completely.
Several years ago, I was going to a place that had a pool. I had no swimsuit. I figured I would have to pay lots for one, but got in on an excellent sale. I bought 10. Heaven knows why. But I paid as much for those 10, as I would normally had to pay for one in season. ( this was in the fall. ) I now have 9 swimsuits that have never been used. LOL This is why decluttering is so necessary.
Hi vivi I’ve just Chucked my swim suit & bikini out after years in my draw ! I was 7 stone when I wore them ! I’m about 11 stone now ! Why do we hold on to things you will never get into again ? Crazy 😂🤣😂🤣😂 lv Irene 😘 xx
Ach, exactly.......hahaha....it did make me laugh to see the lack of bum coverage on my old bikinis.......hahaha....good luck to someone else wearing them!
damaged fabrics and underwear can be sold or given to fabric recyclers - we have a van and they park up in asda carpark and they will pay £5 for every 10kg of fabric remenants. Might be worth googling to find a local one to you.
You can compost you cotton underwear and socks. The worms won't eat the man made fiber like polyester, plastics, metallic and some elastics, but will eat viscose fabric and rubber. Mainly natural fibres that are in socks will be eaten and they leave a skeleton of man-made fibre behind at that point I will place in land fill. With all the hardware that comes on bag and clothes I now keep. As I will repurpose into new item for me, as and when I need it. I try composting everything first (in my three bin cycle) and land fill is the last resort.
Good on you lovely! I think it might be a winter/nest thing........now we're indoors so much we want to spruce up the nest....chuck out the debris and line it with lovely fluff........maybe....
If the trunk under the bed means so much to you, keep it. After all you don't know where you are moving to and you just might have enough space to sort it at your leisure. 🙂🤞
Why don’t you pull out 2 things on top, in the trunk at a time. That way you don’t have to think about the whole trunk at one time. It will be easier on your heart ❤️.
Hi Vivi.😊 Loved the story behind your bikini. Your honesty and the way you chat with us like a friend, is so very refreshing. Thank you for that. 💐🐨
I love your decluttering videos. Its good to get it done ready for the new year.
Exactly....a nice clean slate for a new year......and a bit less to pack when I eventually move!
Give yourself a treat when you have done it all Vivi! Its daunting having a clear out, but so worth it in the end!
It has been a bit of an effort at times....but SOOOOO worth it.....the end is in sight and I'm cuffed with how it's gone. 😊

I hope so too.....I think we all need to do this from time to time so it's good to share the difficult feelings and know we're not alone......
Things weigh us down, when we offload things we feel lighter I find. Love that elf hat!
Exactly! Cheers lovely.

Awww, thanks lovely......it's something so many of us are going through at the moment......we can sort of do it together.
Great job. I plan on doing this in January when it is just too cold to do much else. Thanks for the motivation
Yay, good on you lovely....have fun rediscovering!
Brilliant series of videos Vivi and they came at just the right time 😊👍💟

Oh what a shame! Fortunately these are all a bit newer and are perfect for giving away.
I still have things from when my kids were little that I'm going to go through and finally get rid of
Awww, good luck.....I think dealing with the kiddie things must be so hard.

Juhuuuuu, part 2!
😁
I’d happily buy the pixie hat off you for my paediatric nurse daughter x
Awww, sorry lovely but I donated it already.
@@WhatVivididnext that’s ok, someone will make fine use of it x
Oh, the bikinis! I found a red one a few weeks ago. I disposed of the others "a thousand years ago". Hahahaaa ....
Hahaha....I hear ya lovely!
