Merry Christmas Robin . Thank you for comforting an elderly lady . You always make me smile . I have had many family members die this year and even my kitty died . My kitty died and she was my whole world .my sister gave her to me a few years before my sister died . So my Fifi was special . I am elderly and can’t get more pets in case I get in the hospital . I have had many family and childhood friends die this year.I am down in the dumps. But you cheer me up .thank you for being an angel .
I'm so sorry that you're having to go through that. I turned 77 this last year and I know it becomes more difficult the older we get. Maybe check with local shelters and see if they have a fostering program where you could take a kitty in but they could come and pick the kitty up if you had to go into the hospital.
@@susanturner1171 That's a great idea...my daughter and sil foster for the Humane Society and they love it.... Another option if physically able would be to volunteer at the Humane Society an hour a week helping socialize the kittens and cats in the shelter. Some are frightened, nervous, etc and it helps them.... and the person spending time with them finds it rewarding.... There is nothing like loving on a critter, especially a feline critter.
Merry Christmas Robin! Such a sweet and sensible message you share here. We are seniors as well and due to a bout of illness this year we have decided to spend a quiet Christmas in solitude in a little mountain cabin away from home. We connected with our family members at their homes individually for small and quiet visits earlier this month. It was difficult to convince them that we needed to take this time for self-care and take a year off from all the stress, spending and holiday obligations. It's been the most magical and spiritual holiday we've had in years!!! No shopping. No spending. No cooking. We've decided that this is our new tradition going forward. Certainly not for everyone but this divorce from the commercialism and unrealistic expectations of Christmas suits us to a T. Hugs to you!
I decided to take of for the holidays as a vacation wk. I have my younger grandson during this time. I asked him do you want a home cooked meal or go out for dinner? He said well let's make it easy. Chinese, he's 10 and fun. I plan on no work and kick back with my boy. I gave him clothes, Christmas treats bag, and he was happy. What a sensible 10 year old.
Merry Christmas, my friend I solely enjoy your videos. You remind me so much of myself. By the way I like to drink water too. We like the same kind of ice cream too. You’re so down to earth and it’s hard to find people like you …have a beautiful Christmas.🥰
Just love u you are so real and express yourself so awesome love hearing your thoughts,i lost my husband in may this year my Christmas is quite but memories of Christmas past sure can make me smile happy holidays to you have a lovely week
Merry Christmas Robin! May you be filled with love, hope, and peace this wonderful season. And now I'm gonna go bake some cookies! Wish I could share them with everyone here!
Merry Christmas, Robin! I hope you enjoy the entire week of celebration with framily and/or friends. You are such a blessing to us, I pray our Lord's blessings on you!
MERRY CHRISTMAS ROBIN AND FAMILY AND TO EVERYONE HERE IN THE COMMUNITY!!!!✝️I hope we all have a wonderful celebration of Jesus being born so we all have the opportunity of forgiveness so we can spend eternity with him in heaven ! He loves us and wants us all to be with him ! ✝️
Since times have gotten harder it's actually helped my family grow in our faith. This year we are doing little in gifts and our focus has been brought back to the reason for the season and focusing on relaxing, good food and making memories. My youngest grandson is only 14 months old this Christmas and I turn 64 on Christmas day so we have so much to be thankful for. Thanks for sharing about seniors struggling with gift giving. Last year I felt so guilty because I just couldn't afford much, I too am a lot like you, I live a very frugal life style and we mirror a whole lot of the same techniques... ingredient prep, canning, etc you sharing your story about gift giving gave me the strength to have the talk with my family and it was so easy. I have five grandchildren, three are older 19 to 23, and two younger 10 and 14 months and I felt like I had to spend the same amount on each then in the last few years I've added a future grandson in law and I felt I had to do the same for him and of course the younger ones, which I will continue to do this year, but instead of 50 to 100 per grandchild it was rough. Last year was such a struggle and so stressful. Thanks to you and having the talk this year has been a pleasure. We agreed I would host and provide the Thanksgiving celebration, with a little help with a few sides and my son and family would host the Christmas celebration on Christmas day in the evening. It's going to work out so well, we used to do finger foods on Christmas Eve at my house then Christmas day at my son's house after Santa came. Changing the tradition this year to doing Christmas dinner so the older kids can have their time without feeling bad, the little ones can do Santa and have the day to play and enjoy and we will enjoy a great evening celebrating Christ and each other. Like you said, my older grandchildren make way more than me who is on a fixed income and my son and daughter in law doesn't need or want for anything and neither do I. The Lord Jesus Christ has been very good to me and my family and that's always reason to celebrate 🥳🥂🥳 so, thank you dear friend for your wisdom and wonderful advice!!! I didn't know how alone and guilty I felt and I am sure there are thousands more out there who have wrestled with the devil of the guilt of not giving to their loved ones, you have set us free, open to the joy of celebration of life. Thanks again and Very Merry Christmas 🎄 I'm Brenda from Middle Tennessee.
I so enjoy listening to you. Your very comforting. I thought of you today, back in the store. I think I’m done. I love Coffee. Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas. We are getting snow tonite. And Christmas Eve. I’m happy. 😊
Great video. I’m one of those people who knocks herself with Christmas food, goodies etc. I’m so exhausted by January 1st. Now I’m 73. Learned to cut back & appreciate all the relatives, friends etc. after a grandchild graduates high school no more gifts from us. I tell my 3 kids to spend money on themselves or their kids. God has blessed us again & again. We don’t need anything.
You are so funny! I literally laughed out loud when you said they should just lay me out in front of the stove when you die. Lol You’re right about Christmas. The true meaning is celebrating Jesus Christ birth. ❤️🙏
Thank you for the video, Robin. Your grandchildren are very lucky to have such a down-to-earth, sweet, and joyful grandma. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas dear Robin. You are such a joy to listen to and I love your laugh. Blessings to you and your family. Looking forward to getting to know you more next year!! Hugs!!
Love those rotisserie chicken! So many meals I make, and it just tastes great! We don't get the plastic trays anymore, but that's okay. Chicken is still great!! And then the broth too!
i miss those plastic containers from Costco that the chickens came in. I always washed and saved them for transporting a large slice of cake to go home with my grandchild's after their birthday party 😊
Stop the pressQQ!!...lol...I'm watching while sleepy so an commenting b/4 the video is over...BRILLIANT!! Your use of the rotisserie chicken containers...we throw ours out but they would be perfect for lettuce!!! I never thought of that!!..will be saving them here on out.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. We are Catholic and I always emphasized to the kids that Christmas was a celebration for the baby Jesus’s birth. We attended mass in the morning rather than Christmas Eve, so that they were able to experience the celebration of the birth of Jesus on Christmas morning. As always your Friday confabs are awesome. Kathy 🎄
Good response on the throat clearing issue. I chuckled exactly the same time you chuckled. I'm 69, and I clear my throat a lot and blow my nose! Amazing. It was just a funny question. ❤❤🎉🎉
Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the love of Christ and love amd share his love with your family. I hope to be together with family to share love. If it snows we will visit by phone. Walk in love and you live in joy. Blessing come your way. Mary
No offense, Robin, but I can’t drink hot water!! 🤣 But that made me think of my Grandma because she drank that. I thought she was the only person that did… but I guess not! 😁 I will stick with my Dr Pepper…🥤Merry Christmas & God Bless You!
I too buy when things go on sale. Last year Kroger had standing rib roast on sale for $5.99 a pound ( bone in). I bought one and thought I would cook it on one of the holidays…well I defrosted it and broke it down removing the ribs from it. I thought about cutting off two steaks for later use, but thought I might as well cook all of it. So I am roasting the seasoned ribs right now to use in a homemade vegetable soup. After the brown up nicely and cool will go into my freezer. The rest of the roast is marinading. Will be flipped so marinade will penetrate and season all sides of the roast over night. Tomorrow I will roast it just until it is little over rare. Then I will cut it into two large roast. Freeze them and only have to do what you are doing with the chickens. Yes they were more expensive than the two chickens, but I will get: soup, stroganoff, Christmas dinner, Philly Cheese steak sandwiches, stir fry from one of the roast. Then the other one will be used for Easter in the same way. Got a spiral sliced ham with glaze on sale and it will be treated the same way. I already have my twice baked potatoes fixed and frozen…so all I have to do is pull them out the night before & thaw in frig do next day. This way I can work on Christmas gifts ( baked goodies & candy) for presents. Have you ever made homemade whole cranberry sauce and canned it? If so how do you do it? Like Jam? I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas 🎄 🌟✝️ !
Some people do not seem to realize allergies can be in winter too. Can be from Christmas trees, greenery, leaves on the ground and even being inside a lot where there is less fresh air. I'm also a logophile Robin! 🙂 Even on sunny days with snow on the ground we turn the heat off and open the bedroom window and close the door to get fresh air in the bedroom for 1/2 an hour. Will open the front door for 1/2 an hour too. Makes a difference for me.

Merry Christmas. It’s pleasant listening to someone talk about just plain daily life. No screaming, no accusations, just plain talk. Nice.
Thank you!

“Where the Sidewalk Ends” was one of my favorite books when I was young. Now I KNOW where the sidewalk ends😂
Such a great author. My son had all of his books when he was young.

I love drinking hot water until I have a hot flash. Then on to the cold water until I get chilled, back to the hot water again.
