My wife and I have owned 3 Rogues so far, each generation. We currently own a 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum and absolutely love it!! We drove the RAV4, the Honda CRV, an Audi, a Infiniti, and even a Lexus. Seriously this was the best of all of them. I know that seems impossible, but the features you get for the money can't be beat. We currently have 44,000 miles on the 2021 and have had zero issues. We love it!!
I’m thinking you have the 2.5 engine and not the 1.5T which is basically new
44k is nothing , but can you at least reach 300k or more with how a rav4 or CRV can ?
Good to know since I’m in between this and Subaru
This is out already??? You guys never fail to deliver the first videos of new vehicles…
It seems like the first batches showing up at dealers are all SLs in the US. Handful of SVs as well. In Canada, the S-trims are showing up.
Unfortunately, yes they are.
Thank you, friend! They are arriving at dealerships right now
While LEDs are already way more efficient (85% less power draw), its worth noting that LED reflectors are around 30% more efficient than LED projectors. So using the same strength diode, the reflector will be brighter. Reflector housings can be more shallow and they are cheaper to make, which is why we are starting to see more reflectors. Projectors do look cool, give design flexibility, and can give you a very crisp light beam with easier to implement auto-leveling, so sometimes you'll see the low beam be a projector and the highbeam a reflector.
That’s good info. Thanks!
I plan on buying the SL so I'm glad you are doing this one.
Just took delivery of my 2024 Rogue SL AWD - the feeling of luxury is the best around - Nissan did not cheap out. Love my new Rogue
I was surprised when my sister and brother in law purchased a New Rogue with the 3 cyl. They LOVE IT. And I was surprised myself when I looked over the vehicle. Nice light sand color makes it pop with the black roof.
Welcome Drew and thanks for your contribution to Car Confections.
Love the video, the reaction of your faces of the bird poop had me rolling!
Thanks for the review! I just ordered a Nissan Rogue SL 2024 for my company fleet vehicle in the color you showcased. Really excited to get it this year! Although my company portal didn't highlight the premium package so I am not sure if I can add that on post order submission. Moonroof looks amazing.
Nice video!
All good Mason, youre doing fine solo.... great review ... and sexy sneaks 😉 Add Josh to the crew make it a trio. 😊hes got that "voice" too ... a presenters voice...
Concerned about reliability with the CVT and tiny turbo, but this is hands down the nicest interior in the segment. Dollar for dollar, feature for feature, it beats out the CRV and Rav4 handily. Honda and Toyota just have an excellent reputation for reliability and resale.
I test drove a 2024 SL today and was so impressed. It was actually fun to drive and sounded great. The level of luxury was shocking for the price. Who knows what the reliability will be but as long as it's under warranty I'd drive it
Hey Josh! Nissan did a great job with this Rogue
Excellent review as always, have a good weekend!
Thanks, you too!
Yes & this new Nissan Rogue is my daily car.
The SV trim also has a new wheel design, not a fan of them but happy that there’s more distinction between SL and platinum
The 2024 Nissan models come with some cool new features! They have advanced safety technologies like blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist to help keep you safe on the road. Plus, many models have upgraded infotainment systems with touchscreen displays and smartphone integration. It's always best to check with a Nissan dealership for the specific features of each model. 😄🚗
Hi Josh! Great video. Plan on purchasing the 2024 in August. Thanks, Guy's!
I don’t recommend it because of the jatco cvt transmission do research
@@ZachD-lh5so I’ve own 2 2021 Rogues, and a 2022 Rogue. Not one issue. Thanks
@@ZachD-lh5soRELAX. You guys do this every year! There are MANY Rogues (Nissan in general) that never have any issues! Maybe you should do your research and see how many other cars (your favorites) have CVT!
@@Sincerelyshawny it’s a flip of a coin and also research jatco transmission recall. Just go for another brand I would go for a Mazda or a Toyota
@@ZachD-lh5soPains😂😂
Gotta love the Nissan/CVT haters. If you don't like them, then why come here?
Not quite the reliability of the Honda or Toyota cvt or e-cvt. I’m not a hater. All vehicles offer their own uniqueness.
Because it’s a nice vehicle otherwise!
@johnmartin7158 I couldn't care less about Toyota's reliability claims. I have a different perspective, having worked on them and dealing with the people who own them. This is nothing against you at all.
Have a blessed day 🙏
Some of us are just car people, and enjoy checking out vehicles regardless of our preferences.
@@NovemberMan69 I agree as well we bought a toyota cause of reliablity and nothing but problems will never buy a Toyota again, but i have a few friends that love them and worked out great for them.
Cool thanks! Happen to know if there were any safety enhancements? The IIHS ratings for the 2021-2023 could stand to be improved for their new side impact and moderate front impact ratings, particularly for back seat passengers...
A wonderful experience. It is possible to know at what speed sound insulation is measured
Love it!
Excellent video guys.
This is really a nice car, but the fake sounds of the CVT transmission trying to create a shift sound is a big turn off to me. Nissan needs to come out with a hybrid version of this SUV that doesn’t have a three cylinder turbo in it.
@@eleanormassaro5195. You gotta point. Honda CRV and Nissan with the simulated gear changes are a bit pointless.
And cold seats heated and cool to see something that the CRV or the Nissan rogue does not offer the Toyota RAV4 in the Mazda CX50 offer code seats
I love the color and updated version. Wish it had just more power. But fuel economy is nice
Nice Hello thank you 😊 to you both 😍😍
Please start measuring the cargo opening height as well.
Does this has CVT transmission, are CVT still as bad as they used to say, it’s gives in close to 40-50 thousand miles in cars ??
What by the Nissan rogue but I would like to see wireless Android Auto too
like the car, only question is will it be reliable especially with the many roadtrips i'm planning to do?Or should i just go ahead and get the venza?I'm looking at long-term ownership
for the most part yes. as with any new vehicle expect little things here and there.
If you have the means, you got to get the Venza sir.
It's a Top 3-5 Compact/Sub available...and Hybrid.
*Keep in mind it will be discontinued soon.
Unless you can save many thousands with a Rogue...get the Venza.
@@kiLLinEmSoFTly rogue is a lot nicer/ feature packed in the platinum trim. The venza isnt worth it, better off buying a CPO highlander for its MSRP
@kiLLinEmSoFTly Thanks 😊. I've actually got one in my sights and it's below msrp ,cheaper than the platinum rogue I wanted with inclusion of ventilated seats which the rogue doesn't offer
I've read that they have transmissions issues still, is this true?
Are we getting epower model in 2024 Nissan?
@carconfections Your opinion between this and Kia Sportage. Which would you recommend?
Personally we prefer the Kia Sportage but it really comes down to personal taste because both of them are packaged quite nicely. Only the Sportage has a hybrid which is our preferred powertrain in the model
I personally think Nissan did just enough. It was already nice when this gen came out in 2021. These 2024 changes make it even better . Its definitely very premium. However I like the tuscons bolder design and transmission a little more. it also has a PHEV which js very appealing to me since i live in a more populated area. is this better than the crv and rav4. The CRV yes, thats less feature packed than this and it feels like its missing quite a few features. The rav4 is actually on par with this imo. I like this equally as the rav4, though the rav4 is more macho more truck like.
Honestly, especially the seats make this tempting, but Nissans make me worried about reliability to a pretty big degree. It's so bad that I look at other brands even though a close friend works as fni at my local nissan dealer...wish they'd sort that out as a brand.
What kind of problems in newer Nissans?
What kind of problems? as long as you take care of it you will be fine.
I like the looks of this new Rogue a lot. However, I'm still worried about long-term reliability of both Nissan's CVT and having such a small turbo engine, especially with their new (ie, unproven) variable compression technology. Personally, I'd rather have a larger, less complicated naturally aspirated engine and also a hybrid model option for better fuel economy. If I could be sure that the powertrain would be as reliable as a Toyota or Honda, then I'd give the Rogue a serious look.
As someone who works on them, if you treat the CVT with care they’ll easily last over 100,000 miles. They’re meant for light driving.
@@asparrow63 what are the key issues you see with the VC turbo (for instance, I heard about potential oil dilution and gas smell)? Happen to know if the 2024 version is improved over the 2023?
my Nissan rogue has 143k on it but power lost and overheating is biggest problem bad transmission otherwise is nice and comfortable midsize suv
Would there be an e-power like in UK , europe and Australia ? when does it come out?
Hybrids are expected in 2025.
The exterior changes are minimal given this is a refresh, but I'm glad they finally put a larger infotainment screen on this. Something Honda needs to do on the CRV.
Honda CRV also needs a spare tire + Blind Spot Monitoring.
So the SL will not have the 10 speaker bose, that is terrible that you will need to purchase the platinum
Huge downsides!!!! 3 cylinder engine?????? It's a lot of stress on an engine to move a vehicle this size. Then it's only 201 hp and coupled with a CVT transmission which is rough. All of that plastic clading around the wheel wells with fade out and change color in easily 3 years. Why mention a 1500 pound tow rating? That is simply nothing. I will say the interior is nicely down with a lot of features. Maintaining easy to use buttons for the A/C is wonderful. I hate auto stop and start! Doesn't save any money and is just an annoyance. 58.9 sound level is high. CVT transmission is awful. I had one in my subaru Ascent. Yet, Nissan does have a great driver assist protection package on all vehicles. The fact the second row seats drop down flat is a a plus. auto lift gate a plus also. I might need to look at the Murano.
How does it compare to tje Subaru Forester Sport??
the price keeps going up and cylinder count keeps going down.
Nissan Xterra... What do y'all think 🤔 of her?
The front reminds me of a Tuscon
Heated rear seat where on the 2023 SL kinda sad that it is gone now
I want ventilated seats. Come on nissan
I actually like the SL, it’s still very nice.
19:13 feels like you switched on manual mode for drive.
It’s very nice! I don’t like the CVT 😂, the bird poop on the window hilarious!
@@Brian_Eugene_LeeSubaru CVTs also have a lot of complaints.
Then you don't like a lot of other brands. A lot of these cars have CVT
Sticking with the outlander
The Fuel Efficiency is shockingly impressive...almost Hybrid numbers.
Really??? Where??? You must be joking.
My 22 with 1.5 Nissan Rogue gets from 44 to 54 mpg and I have pictures to Prove it
Hi Josh
Definitely made it nice. But i am not into 3 cylinders turbo. Stick with 4 cylinders please.
Cool
The 2024 Nissan Altima is the last one..😮 axed along with a Nissan Versa .
I like to change my own oil the splash guard over oil pan and filter has 18 plastic clips and2 bolts to remove more labor cost plastic clips wont last very long please nissan find another way😩
I failed to understand the logic behind the Cylinder reduction while other brands have started making Hybrid versions which are far more successful in terms of power and fuel efficiency regardless of the price bump.
i want it in rental red
what is the reliability of that turbo engine?
You can check out Nissan's predicted reliability ratings at www.carconfections.com/reliability to compare to other brands!
Front is Hyundai Tucson but is 🔥
They totally reinvented the Nissan rogue
Nissan still in business?
This blows a RAV4 away!!!
Not really.
Lol yep 1.5l engine has a gas leak smell. Basically blows
3-cylinder tiny turbo engine + CVT ...
How can Nissan put too many bad things in their best selling car?
Everyone repeats the same talking point: 3 Cylinder blah blah. Does it matter if it is a 3, 4 or 6 Cylinders? Focus on the HP-Torque and the MPG. These are the two most important metrics for owners/drivers.
Taillights have not changed.
Yes and you get the gas leak smell with it too lol
Nissan rouge is the only model that can hold up the competition
Go Josh!!!!!!
I was hoping it would not have a cvt 😞why why why when it’s soooo bad!!!
As an owner of multiple Nissans with CVT’s since 2007, I can tell you that I have not had an issue with any of them. I have owned over 52 new cars over the years including those with traditional automatics, CVT’s, and DCT’s. OF all of them I have come to enjoy CVT’s the most. When they are not abused by people with stupid driving habits they can just as reliable as all the others.
Also when they do proper maintenance too, i see transmision oil darker then diesel oil. Ill ask when did you change your transmission oil they will answer i didnt know you had too lol @@bw6415
Lol..those $965.00 accessories are probably worth $200.00 ( i.e. splash guards $250.00 ridiculous and $450.00 for floor mats rubber cargo mat also ridiculous)!
Why are they ghetto features, especially with the higher trim, projector headlight come on,. Led tail lights also.
Even the birds shit on this car
Haha
Great car. There’s a reason why it’s a hot seller.
Is this bigger than a Jeep Compass ?
Yes
1.5 3 cylinder turbo with a CVT- so no.
Deal breaker
Just get a power train warranty from the dealer u would be okay with that
not fuel efficient like rav4. for me it is huge cons of nissan.
The NissanConnect infotainment system ranges in price from $11.99 to $24.99 per month. 🙄
it is not the infotainment system....it is the connected app. If you their documentation, NissanConnect is the infotainment, and NissanConnect SERVICES is the paid app.
Nissan is still around.
If they had a 4 yr warranty I’d consider one, but that engine is just scary...
Bumper to bumper is a quick 3 years 36,000 miles but the engine would actually be covered but the powertrain warranty which is a slightly better 5 year 60,000 warranty. I have a 2021 SV Rogue with the 4cyl and I have 85K miles on it, zero problems. I change the oil every 5K miles, full synthetic. That 3 cyl turbo scares me a little too…
Yeah, Driving is very scary too. Stick to your Bicycle. You will save money too. LOL!!
Fir $40k I'm buying a Pathfinder instead
Don't know why, but Nissan's SUV always looks like a toad to me......
I dont really comprehend the point of led taillights? Like let me totally blind the people behind me at every stop...yaaaa
I saw 7 doughnuts 🍩!? Lol.
NOPE.
not 2 be mean but if Drew cant come, THEN WHO THE CAMERA GUY
Our friend and new teammate, Josh!
oh i thought that was their dad
hard pass. Nissan is known to make horrible cvts even though they were the first to use cvt. Toyota is the only car manufacturer that perfected the cvt then ecvt. My relative's Nissan rogue broke down within 14,000 miles due to the cvt. STAY away from Nissan with any cvt transmission.
and my toyota broke down with 6558 miles on it, Toyota had to do a buy back. Here i was listening to all the great things toyota did so i bought one and it was the worst thing i did.
The front grill certainly looks better, but overall this has nothing to offer that stands out from the competition except for the fuel economy. The interior design is pretty terrible. If we are to put this up against the also lackluster CR-V and RAV4, I’d probably opt for the CR-V. However, I rank the Sportage and Tucson at the very top of the list just as you have.
NO,cvt
They messed up the grille, it’s so ugly, otherwise the 12 inch screen is a nice welcome…
From back it looks like a GLS😅
you all definitely say 'in the segment' wayyyyyy too much
The answer to your question is. NO.
🥱 CRV is the GOAT in this class.
agreed but it has an absolutely terrible driver seat for anyone over average height.
@@jefff7287 I got a 2018 and 6'3. Is it bad in the new model?
I'm just going to save you all from heartache and debt. DONT GET IT. The only good Nissan vehicle is the frontier. if you're not getting the frontier then don't get anything else.
I stopped listening when I heard CVT.
My Porsche Macan S would gap that poor thing so bad. Yeah the nissan costs half the price. I do like my Frontier 4x4 SV. But its no match for the Macan in any area.
Wow. Shocked that a Porsche would beat a Rogue. Great insight.
LOL!! You also paid 4X more for the Porsche. A fool and his money are soon...........
