I also test drive both and took the rogue in a heartbeat. Rogue platinum we got full panoramic roof. Looks nicer and has nicer paint choices and pearl paints. Also the layout is nicer too we feel. Seats holds you in nicer an the ride is smoother and tighter. Headlights are amazing. Offers rear heated seats that the passengers can turn on and they have their own temperature settings too. Also rear windows have screen also. Roll window down put screens up or use for more shade. Way better sounding sterio system and heads up display wich shows every traffic sign to avoid tickets. Toyota wins on the hauling though. So if your a guy pulling trailer to work with tools get the toyota. If your a guy pulling your quad snowmobile or jet skis around get the rogue. Toyota still nice if you go with the limited edition. That’s a fair comparison for this video. Keep electric out of the gas video comparisons.
And who has better reliability? Everyone knows the crap Nissan has been building for years.
Lol rogue 1.5l turbo engine. Pray for you. Research it
Had driven 2022 Rav4 a few time as a rental car. But end up brought a Nissan Rogue. The 2023 Nissan Rogue just offer more value and better handling then a current Rav4.
He calls them 'small' SUV's, the rogue ain't small mate. Couldn't imagine why anyone would need anything bigger unless they have a large family.
It is in the US. People here want much larger than either of these vehicles.
In the US, Rogue is called a smaller SUV, Pathfinder is mid size and Armada might be the full size SUV.
Rogue is nearly midsize but with compact MPG
I had a 2016 Rogue and now i have a 2021 Rigue SL, and it's Def bigger. It's perfect size
It is a smaller suv.
Bought a rogue sv Aug. 12, 2023. Very smooth ride. Sound system is very good. Comes with free 3 months SiriusXM.
The horsepower with the Rogue, will not disappoint
I love mine
Just test drive Nissan Rogue Platinum last week, oh boy, if you are a gadget person then you won't be disappointed with the Rogue. I initially looking for RAV4 limited but because of the waiting time and the BS high price above MSRP... I may go with the Rogue Platinum.
You won’t sue to the 3 cyclinder engine cvt
My Rogue has been excellent. Spacious, comfortable, sips gas
Just ordered a Rogue SL as it was a much better option for my family. Toyota's wait times, price point, styling and how it drove wasn't for me. My neighborhood is full of Rogue's in peoples drive ways. Guess I'm not the only one that felt the same. Rogue for the win!!
Me too! Pricing with Toyotas is a crazy thing!
Love my Rogue. Had a 2016 and just bought a 2021 SL. 2 days in and I'm in love!
Rogue lease (looks so much better). Toyota purchase (reliability).
Rogue Hands Down!
My wife picked the 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum based on the very comfortable seats and more room behind the rear seat to put items. The Toyota was too pricey and lacked in the category of eye catching exterior and interior. We both love the 360-camera safety features. We drove the 3-cylander turbo Nissan Rogue up and over a mountain pass and was amazed at the power. I like the "eco" drive setting that shuts down the engines idling when coming to a stop light to dead stop and way the engine in "eco" setting that is giving us great gas milage.
We live in the southwest, which has experience record high temperatures and the A/C dual controls keep us very comfortable and cool. I felt safer driving the Nissan than the Toyota RAV4. Also compared to the Subaru, with all the same or less features, made the Nissan Rogue Platinum the best luxury vehicle for the investment!
Tomorrow we are going to buy one this will help us much , thank you so much.
Yeah he forgot to mention that the base trim of the rav4 still coming with plastic hubcaps 😅
I’m not really looking for either of those SUVs but from my point of view Nissan kicking ass of Toyota, size wise inside and outside Nissan wins, interior of Nissan it’s like 3 levels above Toyota’s and over-all Nissan much better buy than “Boring little Toyota SUV” 😊
And yes all of those engine options for Toyota give you more choices but still if….. I would go for Nissan just for better looks and comfort.
Kicking their ass ? Have you seen the sales record of each ? Lol not even close
@@TrymeAsshole Yes, But…, you do understand that these days people pay for the NAME not for what it is, and the "brand name" these days is not what it used to be… 😁
Nissan never kicked Toyota’s a$$ for reliability
@@LuisMaldunadus they already did, after Toyota decided to get rid of the v6 and use the L4 Turbo engine. Turbo is the biggest mistake when it comes to reliability.
Nissan is better
One thing not mentioned is that is near impossible to find RAV4s, but there seem to be plenty of Rogues available.
And when you do find a RAV4, it's going to be well over 30K even for the lowest trim level.
$40k for a RAV with cloth seats and cheap interior build tho
At a trim level that costs 30K or less, the Nissan Rogue is the clear winner per the engine given that for almost the same power (201 hp vs. 203 hp) you get much better gas mileage than the RAV4. Not everybody is willing or able to put up 40K for a compact SUV when the lower trim level is already so feature-rich. A car brand with many more options doesn't mean you have much more money to afford them.
Had the RAV4 Hybrid XLE for a few monthes. I really liked it but it was stolen in my driveway. I then bought myself the 2023 Rogue Midnight Edition. Honestly , both are nice cars. A little bit more power on RAV4 Hybrid side when it comes to mountain roads but a little bit more comfortable in the rogue. Surprisingly, the 1.5L turbo is just as good as the RAV4 on fuel economy.I chose the Rogue over the RAV4 because the toyota hybrid is one of the top stolen VUS and from my experience, they are pretty easy to steal 😅.
But if you sell the depreciation for Nissan vehicles takes a big hit.
@@jackeroo75 It depends on whether you are the kind of consumer that needs a new car frequently. For cost effectiveness, the average car owner needs to keep a vehicle for 8 years (according to Consumer Reports). At that point the depreciation difference is negligible, or slightly in the Rogue's favor given that the equivalently equipped RAV4 cost 3-4K more to begin with.
We tried today Nissan rouge platinum we liked it but 1.5 engine i didn’t feel powerful enough, but my wife liked it , so tomorrow we going to get it, thank you very much for all opinions I have read 11.01.2023
Congratulations on your purchase. :-)
My wife has a 2011 Rogue. I have been quietly impressed with it. It’s interior and cargo space are larger than my 2021-GLA 250. Definitely thinking of upgrading the rogue next year. My only concern is the small turbo engine. Is it noticeably quicker than the 2.5 litre in my current model?
Thank you, good review but I have a few comments.
Let's be serious, Toyota Rav 4 inside gives the impression of a car made in the school yard and the space is limited for a person who measures 6.3. In the back, he sits cramped. It is noisy, you have the impression that the engine is in the passenger compartment. The quality is not up to the asking price. Even when the car door is closed, it has a cheap sound.
The situation is not the same in the Rogue, the interior space is sufficient, even the basic S model is very well equipped. Very well soundproofed! The design part is debatable, it depends on the taste of each person.
Regarding the performances are similar cars.
RAV4 has an 8 speed transmission and the Rogue has a CVT transmission. This alone should make the RAV4 a winner.
Rogue looks solid ❤
One thing that I like about the nissan and that is on all their new vehicles is the placement of the start stop button. They put it right next to the gear selector. I looked for it on the Toyota, but couldn't find it. Maybe someone can tell me where it is.
Just bought a rogue after driving both. Love the rogue. Did not like the Honda CRV at all. Drove sluggish and just not as comfortable.
Thank you for posting this. I test drove a 2023 CRV and it was a huge no for me. I currently own a 2019 Rogue and it has a couple issues but I love it overall and it has room for my family.
I’m planning on leasing the Rogue to enjoy what people say about the rogue and then give it back to the dealer once the lease term expires (when things start going wrong) lol
This video is biased towards Toyota and is created to show Toyota is a winner but that is not true. Rogue has a better interior quality. Also I get 7.5 litre per 100 km on Rogue which is far better than RAV4. Rogue is more roomy too and offer Nissan connect services and a higher safety score. Please stop misleading people for your selfish interest.
Nissan ❤❤❤
I'm watching this on UA-cam in the States and in the start of the video you're comparing the Rogue with a GR badged Rav 4. The GR is not available in the US. We own a 2023 Rogue and comparing it to the Rav 4 around here I would take the Rogue over the Rav 4. The Rogue has a much more updated interior and styling and may lose to the Rav 4 in maybe long term reliability.
It's funny how at any point the Nissan is better he automatically goes to the more expensive Rav4 hybrid.
Yeah, I wish he did not add in the hybrid to compare to Rogue since they don't offer that. Unfair comparison.
Id like to see with full of passengers or towed and see the mpg's
What is the break even point on rav4 hybrid vs rouge? I’ll take the rouge
RAV4 is a bit better only in terms reliability, everything else - Rogue is better.
The current odometer reading on my 2022 RAV4 XLE Hybrid is 3,012 miles. I'm averaging 40 MPG in the city, and 36.2 on limited access highways with cruise control set at 78 MPH. My plan is to keep this vehicle until 2034 or 2035. I am convinced by history that the cost of upkeep for the Nissan Rogue would be much higher within that same time frame.
I think that one of the reasons that nissan isn't putting fog lights on their new vehicles is because their standard led headlights are so good that fog lights are pointless. I'm speaking from my experience with my 2019 altima. The standard led headlights have spoiled me. I will never buy a car with anything else. I couldn't believe the first night time driving I did with the altima. I was seeing details of the road that I never saw before. Turning on the led fog lights didn't really add much.
Rogue has the gas leak problem
Rogue has a cvt transmissions. Rav 4 has a regular transmission
i'm 6'2" and i have plenty of headroom in my 2019 rav4, even when wearing a cowboy hat.
Rogue all day!
Luxurious nice midsuvs
Absolutely! Which one do you like more?
You seem to like the Rogue, why do you say it sucks in the tumbnail ?
The title sez is it worth 30k. Then proceeds to talk about all the Rav4 that are basically 40k+ 😂
I'll take reliability
The narrator sounds like he hate nissan. 😅
Hate love relationship with Nissan...
All the people that saided they bought the rogue here is only buying it cause its cheaper. Lol rav4 resale value is better, mpg better, Super reliable.
One comment cvt transmission ugh will go bad,Then what??? Buy Toyota four cly ,normal engine. RESALE ALSO
True. ~ But, I believe the Toyota Hybrid has a CVT transmission.
Consumers give 23 Rogue 3.4 stars out of 5 at Edmunds. Not a great rating.
Toyota could make a cow pie and people would by it...interior is not impressive in my opinion..bought a cx5.
I only drive 2000 miles a year in the city.
Thanks for that oh-so-helpful information, heresteven.
If you lease or trade every five years the Rogue will work but for long term over 200,000 mile reliability the Toyota will win easily. The Nissan turbo engines and CVT transmissions are weak and not long term reliable.
Notice he doesn’t talk about reliability or the Nissans CVT. Any Toyota you can expect 300k miles probably twice the life of a rogue . I have a 2014 rogue with 144k and I love it but truth be told I know it won’t last much more. There’s no comparison Toyotas motor and transmission wins hands down. Remember you get what you pay for .
Agreed. I don't trust Nissan/Renault to last as long
That 1.5L turbo engine won't last long.
Yep. One of them does suck: the Rav4. Tested both, and boy-howdy... The Toyota is complete garbage.
RAV4 will be slightly more reliable in the long run, but Rogue looks and drives better.
@@spol1622 The RAV4 will be "a lot" more reliable in the long run. The Rogue has a weak and unreliable CVT transmission. The RAV4 will also be worth more when you trade it in or sell it.
You people talk out of your ass about the CVT. You have never owned or driven one. I have owned 4 and would never go back to a regular automatic. No auto stop/start on the Nissan, either.
Rav is better quality Nissan is junky
Test drove the rav 4 and i would never ever the handling was absolutely horrible. Missan no question they are excellent and fully reliable
love how this ignores quality and reliability.
I can tell from experience IT NOT THE ROUGE. DO NOT PURCHASE THERE JUNK!!
If you are buying a 2023 rav 4 hyrbid now, you are actually buying a 2026 rav 4 hybrid
That is so true lol
Fr damm.
Rav has a better engine and transmission, other than that, rouge is perfect
do you not consider. last ability. cost of break downs. sadly nissan cars have been proven to be one of the worst cars for both.
I can tell you it not the Nissan Rouge there junk. I now first hand do not purchase the Rouge!!!😊
Rav 4 is the best.
Can't argue that it is one of the best
One of them SUCKS. English is hard.
the Toyota cvt is better than Nissan cvt
This guy works for Toyota. I haven't found anything interesting about a Toyota Rav 4. Just expensive
You are buying reliability. Nissan does subpar vehicles with questionable reliability. How do they keep in business? Put in lots of tech and sell at competitive prices and finance rates. Most people drive Nissans but not because they know about cars but usually these cars are usually marketed for cheap prices on which Honda and Toyota don’t. Even Mazda is a bit picky on whether to lower their prices as their engines and transmissions are notoriously better than Nissan
You are correct.
