McFarland machining is pretty close to you, heard they charge cheap. Just letting y’all know😂😂😂
MaRCoS he should definitely take it to Cleeter!😂😂
Friggin dingle-ball that shit!! :)
Most expensive vehicle ever with a junkyard LS
Nah, they want this daily driver to go further than 1320 feet before needing a new engine.
Dingleberry time
One thing I love about this channel is that you actually do stuff and are informative. You don't spend 1/2 the video just talking to yourself like other car channels.
Sleeping on the couch for a week Jeremy 😂😂
I really like that you not only show your wins, but also your hiccups and losses. I would trust you over some tuners/builders that only shows the roses, and never the thorns.
Oh, and as an animal lover, I love the outtros with the puppers.
Just dont drive nothing modded by them lol everything just blows up !
Thank you sir. Bigdado couldn’t be further from the truth.....in the real world we are known for making reliable and more powerful packages than most.
@@Fasterproms1 Anyone with common sense knows that what Bigdado said isn't accurate. If you guys were pushing faulty tunes and junk that's going to grenade out the door the word would get out quickly.

coolant stops boiling....boiling causes steam....and steam WILL escape.....metal or not. In the Navy, i watched steam cut 1 inch plate like it was silly putty
Steam is no joke.
I work on boilers in the civilian world lol
That’s what I’m saying I’m an auto technician in fl to and I never run straight water I always at least put 25% antifreeze in a system just from an anti corrosion and boiling stand point
This.
I have no idea what the hell is up with the american car guy 'ah no snow here no need anti-freeze' bullshit. I'm australian and i'd never run anything above a $500 shitbox without coolant, despite having seen snow once in my life 1200km away.
It's cooked 2 engines on this channel already, first was leroys original iron block and now the escalade. Just run the bloody coolant, even a small amount they'd never notice at the track would do wonders in terms of preventing corrosion and bumping up the boiling point.
@@damstachizz Agreed. Personally in my chevelle, I don't run ANY water at all in the cooling system, just straight antifreeze. The inside of my block/water pump/radiator looks brand new like the day I installed em.
Hey Jeremy and crew, love seeing the young one in there helping. I have an 8 year old son and I am not sure how to convince him to stick his hand in a cylinder full of water to feel a piston. Anyway just wanted to say hey, and keep a tight borehole!
REDACTED get him interested in this channel
So cool to see our son so involved and working that impact wrench. He will tell stories about his dad just like you do. At the end of the day, that is what makes you rich.
I love watching this channel I really look forward to the updates thanks for all your work and effort and please thank squirrel for the awesome job he did
Well that was unfortunate.... in hindsight I believe the sequence of event was as follows. We had a leak in the cooling system and the blower system wasn’t able to move the coolant and we cooked a ring land. Then we had the truck parked In sub freezing temps where the stationary coolant in the blower expanded and blew the intercooler cores. While many have commented on the ring lands on LTX engines being weak this has NOT been our experience. We have MANY vehicles on the road still running for years with well over 700-850rwhp stock bottom end. This situation was unique. We really do make things last and we are not reckless. Typically we do use a lighter coolant concentration and virtually none(w/ water wetter) in the blower because it sheds heat the fastest. To be clear the engine had coolant and the blower system did not, usually has water wetter in there.
Fasterproms loved the video, also loved that you liked your comment👍
She knew she was gonna get your better engine if something was wrong. Probably hoping for it actually lol. MORE POWWA!!

@@androiduberalles I had a friend and a buddy of his did something like that, he would modify the car but everytime he blew the engine, he'd take all the mods off and put it back to stock. . . He got away with it for about 3 engine swaps, before they caught him.
@@HeinzTheMan That's pretty good, haha
I was at the dealership the the other day talking to a buddy .they had a car come in it was an older ladies car .said her grandson was just driving down the road and it just shut off .its puking oil out the bottom. Antifreeze is as much for anti-corrosion as it is to prevent freezing in an aluminum-containing engine.
Also required for higher operating temps in modern Autos.

Antifreeze coolant will actually lubricate the cooling system as well as keeping it from freezing as well as keeping the corrosion out. Water alone is failure prone. I live an hour from you in florida and refuse water alone still!!! Loved the vid of the tear down. Awesome meeting you at streetcar take over, wish you would tune my 1970 ss chevelle lsx with fitech tho!

What are you talking about? His wife was doing the filming! She is as much "hot rod" as he is.
@@paulcopeland9035 #1 it was a joke. Been subbed since you were at 9k subs. Crazy how fast your channel has grown!
Ive seen a few piston tops get pulled/ripped off from hydro lock. you guys got lucky. Love those head! Ported very nicely !! Cant wait to see it on the dyno !
If this came factory with cylinder deactivation there is an update valve cover for the driver side. The Pcv system sucks on the factory one and will cause oil consumption and cause some crappy build up on cylinder #1.
i'd be pretty surprised if he's still running the stock PCV system on it.
that tsb is a joke I did it and it still fouls the plug
That's for gen 4 LS only
Need to turn off that feature and run all the cylinders all the time instead of the valve cover that doesn't fix the problem entirely
Guys the tsb your talking about refers to gen 4 motors with afm... not the LT motor
Should of taken the tires off the front of the Escalade and lowered it to the floor then pulled it
You made a lovely job of that alright. Am familiar with all nighters too ! Great to see Leroy in the background with a gap between the parachute box thingy and the roll cage. Oh boy ..... Leroy ..... come to us you lovely ! :)

Loved seeing your son in there wrenching too. No matter what he does in life he'll have those memories.
On the loctite thing; invest in a "Bolt Buster" inductive heater. It heats the bolt in no time and comes right out! I don't do engine work (usually anymore) but GM seat frames and seat belts that are Torx head and won't co-operate it works wonders. :)

Doggo say, "dad, I makes you a snow angel!"
Hooray for Golden frost angels
We had a customer that had his C15 Cat engine rebuilt in Quebec and the tech got silicone in one of the piston cooling nozzles and smoked that piston in less than 300 miles, so yes piston cooling nozzles help.
Glad you caught that one! A completely destroyed LT wouldn't have been fun!
I really don't understand the "we live in warm climate, best not use coolant"-argument except for continuosly track-driven vehicles.
Coolant isn't only there for lowering the freezing point (-35C instead of 0C at 50/50 mix), it's also there to:
- Increase boiling point (from 100C to 108C at 50/50 mix)
- Decrease corrosion in the cooling system.
Do you always put distilled and de-ionized water in your cars cooling system when running without coolant? I know you should anyways but it's extra important without coolant.
Running just straight water don't you worry about cavitations because water has a lower boiling point than coolant. Do at least run something like water wetter.
In all of my engines I run Evans coolant it's 100% water free I can't believe you guys just run water that's mind boggling
I had the same thought
Water is the best at removing heat. You really just want coolant to prevent corrosion/ freezing. In reality the pressurization of the cooling system does most of the work in preventing boiling. Whilst Evans does prevent corrosion, the heat transfer is worse than water, or even a 50/50 coolant water mix.
Only in the intercooler system. He’s running normal coolant in the engine.
I seen cleetus putting tap water in his cooling system. I say at least use distilled water if your going to use just water I used tap water one time and it made all kinds of rust in the channels.
@@joecook3223 if straight water is run in a motor for a period of time, then antifreeze is used to keep from it freezing up, the seal in the water pump nearly always starts leaking the a/f.
Coolant is not only antifreeze it is also has anti boil properties.
After watching you lift a wheel and destroy the driveline, it looks like you have been having some fun in the Escalade too. 😁 Play, break it, build it better. It's a vicious cycle dude, have fun, can't wait to see it on the dyno 🤙

What's the reason for not running coolant? -Outside of a testing a rebuild. I thought antifreeze had additives that not only helped shed extreme heat, but also keeps the cooling ports/etc from rusting. Of course, it's anti freezing properties. Am I completely wrong here?
If you spring a leak at the track it's easier to clean up water than coolant.
Coolant doesn’t transfer heat as effectively as water.
@@Turbogto_guy I didnt know that. I do know gm uses dexcool ( orange ), specifically for the metal materials it comes in contact with. Helps preserve, and prevent rust within in the engine. Doesn't mean cant run green, but the designers quoted that.
@@jonhubbard5787 .. In the pinned comment by Jeremy he said the engine did have coolant. It was the intercooler brick that didn't. And that's what froze causing the issue.

Smart lady waits until the issue is fixed and then picks the time and place.
I have a Uncle who is a Florida native and owns a Automotive repair shop and he has a shop policy that any car he does coolant system repair work that the vehicle is filled with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze/coolant because it does go below freezing in Florida now and again and because cars leave the state of Florida and go North where it does goes below freezing quite often..
Red Loc-Tite breaks free at 380 degrees F so if you think are dealing with nuts and bolts with Red Loc-Tite I learned long ago to use a heat gun or small butane torch to heat up the Loc-Tite and break its bond before the nuts and bolts its holding tote breaks because drilling out bolts sucks especially when it could have been avoided.

Why is not having coolant in it and straight water an issue? Are you saying it froze?
Yep.
Or got way too hot... water boils WAY faster than coolant. Water corrodes aluminum which is why all GM vehicles take Dex-Cool because their radiators are aluminum.

Ok Jeremy, you're a smart guy and all but raw water in aluminum engines is not a good idea. Raw water will immediately start to corrode aluminum. Add the proper coolant and you will have far fewer issues.
Lomax 321 I don’t know about that statement, because then aluminum couldn’t be used to make boats
@@theshadetreewelder3523 Your boats run in 200 degree water? Global warming?

@@theshadetreewelder3523 There are no dissimilar metals to cause corrosion in your boiling pot.
@Ada 1812 Dealing with haters in an improbable scenario is better than having to do an engine teardown and replace moving parts. The real answer to the problem you presented is not coolant, it's people not replacing 20 year old rad hoses in a rebuild.
Blame the tuner.
He blamed himself too lol got to have coolant when you're in Pennsylvania in freezing weather I've had cars come into the shop with cracks in the block by where the freeze plugs were from water only in winter climates.. a cheap $10 a gallon of coolant could save people thousands and a lot of the times people from warmer climates don't think about that when they go where it's cold
The drag strips frown on anti freeze in the cars at the track.
Gaaally, haven't heard freeze plugs in 40 years, core plugs for core holes where the casting sand is dumped out.
I have a question, can your drag car, that is anybodies drag car,run 10 miles at 7800 rpm, stop make u-turn go back 10 miles at same speed@130 mph and not blow up the motor?
They are freeze plugs to save your block from splitting after you forgot to drain the water from your engine for winter storage. Tracks don't allow antifreeze. Drag cars are built for drag racing not 24 hours of Le mans.
Funny?I had a block freeze it popped out all the core plugs and collapsed 2 cylinders, there's a core hole behind the camshaft, that plug I screwed to the block after using red loctite, the core plugs were removed and threaded for pipe plugs.
I understand, but don't crash your car or blow up the motor, this would take too long to explain, but there are other things you can put in your radiator to protect aluminum
