Your audition process has really been helpful to me. As a guitarist, I tend to pick one beat and play over it for too long. When I catch a riff or progression I want to work with, I’ll build a stand song from the creator. But the teaks you make to the bears are really inspiring and I’m starting to play with more now. Another great one, Shawn! And I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the Groove Monkee code.
Your instruction videos have become my # one Go too as a Guitarist using EZ-Drummer 3. Learning to be Faster and more creative is so fulfilling. At 60 years old Not Knowing computers very well has been challenging . Your way of instructing is so very helpful. Thank you
just to throw this in i heard another content creator really bring out the fact that your velocities can really make a huge difference toward you midi drums sounding more natural and real so it was great to see you putting it in practice. btw thanks for the content
your videos are SO GOOD - found you recently and devouring everything you've made; thank you so much! I've had EZDrummer for years and EZBass since it came out, and your videos are giving me soooo much more insight into how to really take advantage of them *and* giving me so much more appreciation (as a guitarist/keys player) for how to orchestrate drums & bass. thank you!! this video in particular is so so so good - love how you're getting in depth with how you think about producing drum fills and syncing bass & drum beats. Would love more content like this!(
I’ve had EZ Drummer for some time but finally decided to dig into it and figure out how to get the most out of it. Your videos are extremely informative and easy to follow. Thanks!
I‘ve seen the two parts now and would like to be such an expert on toontrack EZDrummer like you. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I guess I‘ll have to watch many of your videos to handle this plugin.
I found out the other day in Logic you can drag and drop files from your logic session straight onto your desktop its the same as exporting them, So you can just drag on to the desktop then into Ezdrummer Bandmate that way , Just thought I'd mention it, Love your videos keep up the good work!
Hi Sean, Super fantastic videos. I'm a new user of EZDrummer 3. Your videos are so easy to understand because you speak very well. I would like to make a suggestion that you have PayPal as a payment option so people can choose the amount that they would like to donate to your execellent channel.

All of your videos are so pro, very helpful and sold me on EZDrummer - Toon Tracks needs to hire you! Question: What EZD 3 add-on kit is the closest approximation to Bonham?
Another great video. I'm wondering if you have a video on how to save each drum part as a separate .wav file to import into a DAW. I've done it before but it's been a while and I can't remember how to do it but I really like mixing my drums in my daw with each drum as separate instruments plus room and overhead mics, and such. Thanks in advance for your help.
If there’s no tempo changes in your song, use the track menu within easy drummer. otherwise you want to use a manual export method with your daw after routing. I do have daw routing vids if needed.
Awesome Vid Shawn! but I had one more question -you mentioned that you don't bring the midi into your DAW, but do you separate the instruments when you mix the track, and/or do you convert them to audio files? Keep up the great work 🤘
Everyone is different with their preferences. I typically route the snare/toms/kick out for my preferred treatment. If I have time I'll route everything out. My jobs are typically deadline oriented.
Hi Thanks for these 2 videos about creating a beat in your DAW. I am currently trying out the trial version with Cubase, I created an instrument track for EZ drummer, the question is, how do i get to see the actual track in the DAW after it has been created? is there a way to do this, or does everything stay inside the EZ drummer interface and we can just hear it play back...Just curious about this as I am used to building things with Groove agent where we can see the midi info on the track....thanks!
Hey Shawn. Great lesson. I have a question, maybe you can point me to a specific one of your videos or a quick answer. I was playing around with the grooves in EZD3 and then added EZD3 as a plug in in GarageBand. I played the drum parts of a song and then when I played it back, the EZD3 groove plays over my drum part and I cant seem to remove it. It’s gone from EZD3 now but those bars still play over my song. Is it possible I saved it as a patch and it loads whenever I use the plug in. I’m just a confused beginner. I can’t see any of the notes in GarageBand but they go away when I mute the track and come back when unmute.
If you’re confident that you deleted easy drummer three, then it sounds like a bug. Drums can exist twice, once in garage band and once in ezd3. They will overlap if you don’t stay. With one or the other. That’s the only thing I can think of.
I figured it out. I had the drum groove in EZD3 and then brought into GarageBand , then saved a patch. The groove is/was in the patch so every time I added the EZD3 plugin, it came with the patch. I removed the patch saved a new patch without any notes coming from EZD3. Problem gone. Thank you for having so much great content!
That's a great way to audition grooves! But to make it even better, do you think there's a way to make a temporary folder containing your selected grooves?
@@ShootieSchool ah yes, that should work now that you mention it! I think it was in one of your other videos about ezdrummer I first heard of user midi folders. Thank you for great content 🤗
@@Superduperond Thanks for saying! The reason I don't go that route, or the Favorites route, is those methods are global in the program, not per project. So they get filled up pretty quick with old projects that you have to manually revert. Though they work great. The Boneyard idea is a per song workflow for me.
I dont think you covered it but my problem is that when I copy and paste the midi into the Daw editor and play back it just sounds like midi - not like the preset / or customization I have made. How do I link the actual sound (not just midi) into my track?
Drag it to the same track that EZD is on. Midi actually has no sound without a virtual instrument, so you're hearing something that the midi is triggering.
When you said that exporting then importing into bandmate was too much hassle, I couldn't help thinking - not for the first time - that Toontrack really messed up not using the same system from EZBass so that it could use the audio already in your DAW. Just seems like they delivered a great feature then crippled it out of the gate by having to export/import every time. Did they ever say why it has to be done this way?
I forget exactly how I said it, but in this video I meant that Bandmate wouldn't find me beats that suited me. Regardless, the EZBass workflow for files does seem better. I have not heard why they chose one method over the other yet.
@@ShootieSchool Ah, right. I think you worded it like for doing that one beat it was too much messing around to export it then import it. Great videos though. Been enjoying your EZD3 videos. 👍

love your videos. have helped me a lot. but, when you humanize your manually input notes, some of them need to be much farther off of the 1/8 note or the 1/16 or 1/32 note. no drummer gets as close on every note. shouldn't some of them be left out completely. no one would ever hear this in the song itself. it would be subliminal which, on that level, would make us more feel like a human being is playing the drums. peace out. your work is amazing.
