I Interview the makers of this EZX here: ua-cam.com/video/5LZRlCQ3Mb0/v-deo.html
This was a reupload from yesterday. I had the wrong titles over the wrong EZXs near the end. A bummer to lose the comments I had. Enjoy!
I hadn't decided about the new EZX yet. Your demo of just the midi alone sold me. Love all the toms. You are TT's best publicity campaign ever!! Thanks for all your work.
Thank you for taking the time to say that, Chris!!
Thanks man. I get the feeling that if you and I lived near each other we'd have a great time hanging out and recording. Every time I hear something special with the drums, you too have reacted to it. Sadly, I live in Connecticut and you're on the west coast.I'm also a bit older that you and I am handicapped with Multiple Sclerosis. I don't record as much as I would like too. Toontrack and EZ Drummer have saved my life. I have become unable to play the drums anymore but with the great programs and sounds that EZ makes, I get saved every time. I am by far a guitar player but the 2 main drummers that I've played with have always told me that I easily communicate the drums that I hear in my head to them. So, again let me say Thank You for your great videos. Because my only income is Social Security Disability, I sadly never have an extra dime to send to you. Once in a while my friends buy me new Guitar Strings. I think that's boss. Keep on Rocking my friend and know in your heart that you make this 69 years young rocker very happy. Remember: If it's too loud, then you're too old. Jay
This is the second time I heard a story similar to this and it makes my day to read it. Thank you for taking the time to say. Yes, same here... I'm a guitarist that is fond of drums. They're my favorite.
I don't need any money from you. Liking and commenting on my videos is always a great help if you have the energy. Take care, Jay :)
This EZX is amazing!! Thanks as always!!
Hi Christina, welcome back :)
Great video! Absolutely love EZD 3
Thank you, Chaos!
Jakob is great at what he does!
Yes, it felt totally unique compared to other TT midi.
@@ShootieSchool I just bought it on Sweetwater ( 0 % finance for 6 months)
I thought you'd already have a new song with it today!!! lol. I bet you'll be happy with it, i thought it was a steal compared to other EZXs.
@@ShootieSchool 🤓 I had to clean out some of my disc on my iMac !! i'm good now!
@@robmlisanti That will set you back$$ Lock and load!
I just bought this EZX based on your video. "The Hawk" Gretsch USA Custom kit with A Zildjians is the kit I've been looking for! Thanks!
This is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for showing the midi ❤️🙏👍
You go it, Andy!
I just got this one, thanks Shawn.
It's one of my favorites!
Free Midi pack giveaway until August 9th here: ua-cam.com/video/tx3mqZE9tzc/v-deo.html
Awesome 👏
This is the way these EZX packs should be shown... Lets a guy see what's in there... Very cool...
Thank you, Jake!
Man... you are quite invested in TT. I thought I was bad. Lol.
Almost 20 years of EZXs... it is a habit ;)
@@ShootieSchool Do you also use SD3?
@@mwh369 Yes, typically just for live stuff. What's up?
I just want that big Bonham Kashmir sound! Your channel is very deep.
Thanks!
The Classic Rock EZX will put you in the right place
Great vid! 👍🏻😀 Have you used some extra compression in your DAW or is the pack this snappy?
A lot of it sounds this compressed. I do compress my entire video before output, but lightly.
Great video and very helpful, thanks. I’m still on the fence if I should invest in EZD3 though, any idea if they’ll make a trial/demo available? Strange there isn’t one. Coming from Logic Pro drummer, so unsure if it will make the process easier. I wasn’t overly impressed with EZD2, so still a bit sceptical.
I recommend you joining my facebook group. Put up this same post in my group, and I will tag the main Logic dude to help you make your decision. I don't think you can go wrong with EZD, but I am ignorant to the Logic Drummer. So I don't feel 100% about advising you. I've only heard good things about the Logic drummer, though.

@@ShootieSchool I don’t actually have Fb, I know I’m quite archaic. Whats the likelihood of TT releasing a demo? If not, I may just hang back for a sale and buy it, although Black Friday is still quite a way off. Thanks for the reply.
@@rodd1000 The core programs rarely go on sale, years after release if they do. Best price is at ThomannMusic, fyi. If they release a demo I bet it will be after their first quarter or two, just an assumption though.
Excellent library! For Metal I actually prefer this (Hawk preset) over his Duality EZXs.
Totally! One of my favorite EXZs.
Great Video, I did notice at 5:36 you selected settings drop down window under E-Drums.. you have Audio/MIDI Setup. I have EZdrummer 3, I don't have Audio/MIDI Setup under E-drums.. option. I assume this is EZdrummer 3 in the video right?
If you're working in a DAW you won't see them because EZD3 follows your DAW's audio settings.
@@ShootieSchool Thanks man
Interesting that the drum graphics of this EZX are the same for all 4 kits. I would have loved to see different graphics for each kit, especially seeing them in the Making Of video. And the graphics are different by kit in the EZD3 Core Library, so I wonder why they skipped that here? Aside from that, sounds great, like most TT libraries.
You're confusing Kits with Libraries. EZD3 comes with 3 Libraries, so you see the graphics of three kits, those graphics represent Libraries though, not kits. EZXs are one single Library with very few exceptions... so you only see one graphic.
@@ShootieSchool ah good point.
Great overview! Quick question: I bought this ezx but it doesn’t sound as punchy as it does in this video. Did you do any processing? If so, what? Sounds so much better here than in my DAW.
Thanks for the great content!!
Not necessarily on EZD, but I do squash my entire video, sounds plus my voice, before uploading to UA-cam. I've been using the Waves L2 for almost 20 years. It's just a two knob compressor I throw on the master fader (or a drum bus for your interest). I highly recommend it. Waves does sales all of the time, you could grab it cheap if you get on their mailing list and wait for a sale. To clarify, yes these drums got a little compressed/limited from this single plugin, my intent was mastering the audio for my video though.
same. not nearly as punchy as his video and the toontrack page
@@mattocaster1065 I'll keep that in mind on the next EZX review.
@@ShootieSchool do you mean the waves L2 ultramaximizer?
@@onlyguitar6521 Yes
Wow... this was a year ago?
Great video! Very detailed. And Paiste is pronounced “pice-tee”.
Thank you for saying, Alan!
Glad you like it! /The mongolian warrior
What a pleasure that you stopped by!
For those of you that check out this pinned comment. Here is the response about this EXZ sounding over compressed from Jakob Herrmann, "You can always choose to back off the compression in the presets to suit your mix. And there is no compression on the raw channels or the basic default raw kit that isn't a preset."
@@ShootieSchool I got sent the link to your video and thoroughly enjoyed it, as did the drummer Darby. Good work, and thank you for all the kind words about something I put a lot of effort into.
@@topfloorstudiosSWE Absolutely my pleasure! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
🤘💪
FLOYD! \m/
Nice demo! - EZD3 is a massive upgrade over EZD2, and it wouldn't surprise me if Toontrack concentrate on EZD3 for all future EZXs.
They've already stated, no future EZXs will for with EZD2, fyi.
@@ShootieSchool All the previous EZXs sound great in EZD3, and I was very happy to find that my original EZ Drummer 1 Cocktail kit is still present and correct too, so it's definitely a no brainer to upgrade, for anyone who hasn't already done so!
@@leopoldbluesky I'm always looking to buy EZD1 just for that kit!
Can you think of an EZDrummer expansion that is better than this one?
I'd say this one had the best first impression at the least.
Not to nitpick, but the auto subtitles said "easy drama 3." Sounds like a show on the Bravo network 🤣
HAHA!!! You actually have to switch it off of Bostonian Subtitles that should do it!
Can you use this in SD3?
Yes.
snares don't sound great at all to me but the toms sound good. cymbals pretty good too
recorded in my hometown :)
Have you met Jakob Herrmann?
@@ShootieSchool yeh , we met once briefly, don't think he remember me. But he is a legend among the drummers I know ;) and I have worked in "Storan" the old theater where he's studio is located :) so getting the Big Stage EZX and have been at the location makes it inspiring :)
@@ThompaThelin If you had a question(s) for him about the Big Stage EZX, what would it be?
@@ShootieSchool well I would def ask how "balanced" the acoustic was in the room and what problems they had if any when they recorded. The building was ready 1859 but have been renovated several times but when I was working there I was amazed about the acoustic in the way the stage is built from the audience perspective. And I would ask if they treat the room in anyway for the recordings :) its lot of musical magic in these walls and now I got them digitally :)
@@ThompaThelin Thanks for the response! Keep an eye on my channel ;)
Soon they'll have a semi transparent figure playing drums in the graphics.
That would be lame... UNLESS you could chose the character!
Drums set okay just sounds so compressed
They certainly do.
You can always choose to back off the compression in the presets to suit your mix. And there is no compression on the raw channels or the basic default raw kit that isnt a preset.
