- I don't know when it happened but it seems that 343 added a lot of new idle animations since launch, it probably was in a recent update because i didn't notice them when i made the "Classic Weapons" video. Enjoy...

I love the personality the idle animations give to the Spartans - they make it feel as if your Spartan is actually human - plus, I love the tinkering they do...
Spartans gotta have their little fun every once and a while. And they all got it from the Chief himself who loves tinkering and examining his weapons.

Well, the Spartans now have many characteristics that separate them from the originals because of the fact that normal soldiers can enlist and join the program whereas Chief's generation where trained to be the ultimate soldiers.

Wow, that's actually pretty impressive of how much detail are in some of these like the hydra, grav hammer and boltshot. Its a nice touch :)

I like how a lot of the animations let us see the weapons a little better. They really put a lot of work into making them look awesome.

Halo is one of those franchises that's my favourite, just because it's not all space magic.
jeremy ray Yes, exactly. And the universe isn't so big that anything can happen. Partially why I'm not interested in the forerunner or precursor stories though.
I like how the Pistol, AR, SMG and DMR have animations specifically designed to show off the skins. XD
I love how you can take a good look at the internals of some of the weapons. Especially the Gravity Hammer. And don't get me started on the sounds of the gun clicking and rattling as the Spartan moves it around. Gave me goosebumps.

Wow, most of these are WAY better than they used to be. There's actually some really good ones in there, I love the animations that show the functions of the weapon.
1:43, the Hydra and all of the Covenant guns have really cool idle animations.
I thought the idle animation for energy sword was he was going to touch it and it zapped him. LOL
He wouldn't get zapped, his finger would probably burn off.

My ideas:
Pokes needler's needle, explodes
Plays pacman on hydra's screen,
Gets finger caught in boltshit,
Looks down the shot gun barrel,
Tries to flip the plasma pistol and catch it, fails
Nice to see they gave Spartans a bit more personality with these new idles.
The second hammer one was amazing.
Pretty cool how the idle animations on certain weapons like the M57 rocket launcher and the gravity hammer show hidden details that you can't normally see, or that you would only get a brief glimpse of when going into smart scope.
Never really noticed how good the graphics are!
Also the Promethean weapons are really cool, 4:07.
Just something that add to such an awesome game. As an aspiring animator I love all the little details they input in the game. Like Idle animations aren't needed but they are so good.
love the inside of the gravity hammer at 4:00, a small gyroscope can be seen. pretty sweet.
A lot of these are really cool because you get to see how the guns work and where the scopes and everything are.

Of course the forerunner weapons look the best. It would have been hilarious for the needler if you see the soldier fiddle with the pink spikes, accidentally break one off, try to put it back in place, then give up and flick it off to the side haha
more detail went into the guns than writing the campaign
you are so underrated because there are other youtubers who do this showcase type of videos but your ones are the best and most detailed

I absolutely love the idle animations in this game. The feel they provide, and even the attention to detail such as your spartan taking their finger off the trigger are great.
It would be pretty cool if a button press/button combo triggered these animations.

I think I know what the Spartan is thinking for most of these animations, "You know what I haven't seen in a while? The other side of this gun..." *turns gun over to see*
I now have the idea of having silly animations. One example could be when a boltshot is equipped and when it's apart, the spartan waves his had as if it was magic.
I wish the Hydra had a small game of pong in the idle animation.

Finally, we all found out what powers the grav hammer, a bass
These animations make the game look allot more alive and spice things up
This 5 minute video compilation took them around 2 1/2 hours of just standing around to gain all the footage. Wow!

Nice little nod back to Halo CE. Not only was the gun and souf effects classic, but that second idle animation was the exact one from the original Halo.

See I love extra little tid- bits like these where the idle animation is him/her playing with the gun (disassembling it, checking ammo, a slight scope adjustment or pushing buttons) makes it feel like real love was put into the weapons and world that built them.
Why would they make the boltshot animations so cool but then have variations on the "turn side to side" animation for all the other forerunner guns? Just seems like a waste, you have these weird guns that come apart in crazy ways in-game, but the best they could come up with for the scattershot is to have the sights lag behind the barrel a little? It's a cool little detail but there could have been something cooler.

I custom made my desktop the NM Superintendent, background and themes. Windows sounds have been replaced with VIRGIL's, git.
Those Forerunner ones are really nice. Really makes you appreciate the model work and animation given to them.Also the Hydra one. Just found it pretty funny and nice :)
