small detail but i really appreciate that you included the nerdy model names for the alien weapons too :) a lot of people ignore them because theyre "not as cool" or "not as realistic" as the human guns and it's annoying as someone who loves alien stuff, so it's very much appreciated as a small aside, the storm rifle is actually the Kelos'vaarda-pattern Storm Rifle, the Erudo'ma'keth Pulse Carbine is the plasma gun from halo infinite
I really love how each weapon in this game gets its own ADS graphic on the HUD, unlike infinite which uses the exact same one for every gun. It makes it really feel like each gun is wielded a different way and thus requires different information to accurately aim with.
Halo 5’s arsenal may have been lacking in balance, but dang the variety was crazy, like we got Jorge’s changing, brute plasma rifle, a halo 2 beam rifle, the CE Magnum, and a hunter arm cannon. They were literally adding so many community favorite weapons, Luke the Notable actually wanted the target designator in this game, that how crazy it was
Well I mean, when it comes to something like a Lazer or a SPNKr like rocket, it makes sense for those things to not have recoil. Recoilless weapons like the RPG or Carl Gustaf already exist, and since light has no mass, there's no recoil brought by a lazer beam
they do have very little recoil, i think in either case the weapons are having to contain and push out energy which cause a little push back but they still hardly kick up even compared to lighter weapons.

The campaign would be good if it wasn't a Halo game. The problem is that they don't explain anything that led to those events or what has changed between 4 and 5; Cortana's back and she's evil, Spartan-IVs are now on Chief's level and anyone can be a Spartan, and cliffhanger with the Didact is abandoned. As for Infinite, not only does it double down on the same sins, it does worse by telling the story we SHOULD have gotten via collectibles on its stupid open world that doesn't mean anything.
Zoom in is alright, but Aim Down sight? Sure...if you are another UNSC soldiers, but these guys are Spartan, kinda...defeat the entire "we are shock trooper with highly advance tech" build in part. I'm fine with ODST and Common infantry, but the gameplay need to adapts to how that would play.

I understand the need for balancing but having the SPNKr, ARC, and Laser have any recoil is just so immersion breaking.

They should have made the Brute Plasma Rifle a variant of the regular plasma rifle.
