- How to find all the planet fauna/zoology easily. Galapagos Achievement. Check out my ocean planet vid' to see how involved these can be. To update this. Save points and uploading are NOT relevant. Entire fauna can often be found from point of landing anywhere with no need to move on but make sure you check bodies of water if there are any. Slow scanning sweeps within landing area of a few hundred metres may well reveal all life forms within 30 minutes. If you're struggling, a short hop or two will usually lead to a result but don't forget cave areas.

dude your method is gold. before I saw this video I struggled about 4-5 hours on a planet to find the last of 11 specie (and still didn't find it). after seeing your video I found 12 of 12 species on a new planet under half an hour. thanks man!
yeah I managed 2 planets in just over an hour last night doing this method. you sir are a platinum saver 😊
I've spent hours and hours looking for that last species on a planet before giving up and moving on. will definitely be trying this method from now on, thanks
Not one to comment on videos normally, however this technique has worked on every planet I have visited now. Biggest difficulty I have had involved the small/tiny rocks that needed scanning. But thank you very much for highlighting this. Also the comment about "little blighter made me laugh" haven't heard that for years. Thanks once again.
I was so happy when I finally found this video because I was convinced you had this solved. I genuinely believe you believe this works, and I wanted to believe it too. I have 3 planets that are giving me some serious problems, and I’ve spent many hours on each of them. I’ve tried this method for a few more hours on each of these planets but I’ve seen no results. I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe a glitch? On 2/3 of my planets, I have 4 pages of discoveries. On the 3rd, I have 7 pages! Trust me, I’ve scanned everything. These fauna are not spawning.

Don't forget you can scan creatures after they are dead if you need to. You can also scan a red dot creature through cave walls.
Tried this for about an hour with a planet I was already at 90% on (only one more animal to go). No luck.
It's true that there were seven or eight plants that I hadn't scanned underwater, but that didn't seem to do any good. Is this method confirmed on the latest patch? I know they keep tweaking the mechanics of this game smh.

Not sure if you'll see this but I just started this game last weekend and I'm loving it.
Does this method still work? I'm kind of a completionist and like to unlock as many achievements as I can and finding animals and scanning them is a bit annoying at the moment. I always seem to see animals I've already seen before.

well that explains why I have only managed to complete 2 planets to 100% in the last two months. I never bother scanning the plants. Even when I had to stay on an extreme planet for 32 Sols (which was about 10 hours real time) I didn't find the last creature. I will try this tonight. and to think of all the planets I left with only 1 creature missing. . .
Well I appreciate the tip. It's a lot better than all the other videos that just say "look for the dots". Well no crap, what do you think I have been doing this whole time haha. Thanks again for sharing. I have to confess that in order to get the platinum trophy I had to uninstall and start a new game without the day one patch, (can only be done with disc version though) which had much easier requirements and way more interesting animals in my opinion. I was able to scan 20-30 different creatures on each planet and you only needed a certain number total. That being said, I want to return to my original save file and do it Legit now.
I think they broke this part of the game with the last patch (1.09) when they made it so 100% empty planets used to count as a completed scan. ... ... .. Now no matter what I do I can never find the last species on the planet and it remains at [90%]. ... ... ... I also do sometimes find a red dot, "New Species found" when I need one last one and it actually overwrites an existing species I already found and does NOT count for me . I am continuously left with one ????????????????? on several planets. It must be bugged.
I have scaned every rock and plant still cannot find last species of animal I have been on this planet over 15 hours it has no water i've been in over 30 caves and have scanned everything and I still cannot find what am I doing wrong

***** I totally retract my previous statment I went to new planet got out of my ship and stood on top of it scanned everything I could see within 2 mins I had all species without moving I'm so srry I doubted you
