    Great video Beeble.
    After getting into this side of the game after 18 months I would say to new people doing this don't neglect the C class deposits early game.
    My latest playthrough had oxygen, salt and copper on the starter planet. Though they have low output you can still make a bucket load of money and chromatic metal from them.

    Very good guide! This one is needed for those venturing out to find their own hotspot. I too use the "find one then travel north or south along a longitude line." I've found the best form of travel for activated minerals (which are always on extreme weather planets) is a small exotic ship (guppy) with the thrusters upgraded to max to minimize how often you have to refill the thrusters, as you will be launching/landing a lot. I have learned through trial and error that the sweet spot for travel/jump distance is 600u to 800u. That will put you into the next hotspot far enough that A. you won't pick up on the one behind you and B. you will minimize the times where you get no visible signal/distance reading but only the auditory/sound reading. Your map was excellent at depicting the randomness of the dispersion, demonstrating that there is no exact science to this. Scouting a typical Activated Indium planet I will get 2-4 A-class hotspots within three hours and one S-class. I always drop beacons on the A-class ones and keep searching for the S-class. After a few hours if no S-class, I go back and build a base on the best (location) A-class. Later, while servicing the A-class base, I may spend a another session looking for an S-class. If I feel I have covered the north/south line completely (you know you have when you see South become North on your compass), I will run an East/West line.

      Yeah, Hopefully we get an option one day to add hotspot scanners to our Exo Crafts.
      I wish there was an East/West indicator as well, would make following it much easier. :)

      Hello, I just started playing no Man’s Sky, decided to build my first farm on Paradise Planet. Unfortunately, all gas sources I found so far were C class (5 or 6 of them!)
      So I have a question: all of the sources on the planet are same C class, or I am just very unlucky and I should keep looking for S class? I just really love this planet and want to build my base and farms there.

    • @Graybeard_
      @Graybeard_ Рік тому +1

      @@lolkek6807 You're just unlucky atm. All planets have C, B, A and S class deposits. S class deposits are quite rare, so having a system for searching is essential. I can consistently find an S-class about every hour of searching, but not necessarily in the resource I'm after. That can take me up to three hours.

    Well, my giant worm moves as fast as molasses in winter. And doesn't like hills. He just slows right down. And dives unexpectedly into water, stranding me kind of. Quite a pain for a companion. I can basically just steer it. Not vertically though. Idk. And "run mode" is just superfluous because it doesn't have 2 speeds. At least, not as a baby.
    I've only ever made one mineral farm. I had 1 extractor. Expedition 3. I don't really know how to make a big mineral farm. I could, in theory, make a wicked awesome Dairy Farm, but building in NMS is quite annoying. I recently built my first Asthetic base. 5x5x2 square building, funky checkerboard Lit up floor, decorated walls, a few functional items like Teleporter/Trade Terminal.
    Exterior I have a platform over each of the 4 centered doors, stairs leading to each, up around to a large landing pad.
    Each pad leading up to a room with 2 Storage Units. Tons of Wiring involved. And it took probably 3 times longer than necessary because of very bad camera angles, and lots of undoing things because I didn't know my ship proximity was going to be an issue until after i made changes. Lol.
    I probably will never bother with glitch building. Regular building is difficult enough.
    Maybe I'm a slow learner, or too many concussions, but NMS issues are vast, confusing, often unexplained, and so varied that 1 tiny little unresolved thing could have 8 different explanations, 5 different solutions, and i usually need the solution that nobody put on reddit yet. That's why I get frustrated. I can't help but still love the game though.
    And guys like you really help us out, and I appreciate it.
    Saving me TIME. Feels like that's the most precious thing these days.
    So thank you :).

    • @Beeblebum
      @Beeblebum  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah, controlling your worm is hard (giggity)...
      It will always follow the planets surface and not fly higher if you want to.
      I am not sure if you noticed, but I really boosted the size of it, so it flies higher (and quicker).
      I wish there was a scanning module for Ships or Exocrafts that would make scanning for hotspots easier and quicker. And it would add more use to Exocrafts.
      And yes, there are quite a lot of bugs in NMS, and there is no point making guides about bugs, as they can change quickly with every update.
      Hoping HG focuses at least half of their time in 2022 on stabilizing NMS.
      Also, very welcome, I am glad to help! ☺️

    Wow great 👍 simple explanation of a game mechanic is much more complicated than you made it sound 👏.. Ha Ha....
    Seriously I've ran into planets were the minerals were so far apart in that Triangle or rectangle pattern... building anything meaningful would be way to much work.... so luck is still a large factor regardless of technique.
    Also it feels like every new game I create has a different percentage of randomization when generating hotspots. Similar planets in different saves feel either very rich in hotspots (closer together) or very empty (farther a part to the point of almost not worth building).
    Gas hotspots seem to follow a different pattern/randomness which is much harder to follow than minerals and also more likely to be alone or positioned in a way that is very inconvenient...
    Well just food for thought.
    Happy Hunting nms troopers 😀

    • @Beeblebum
      @Beeblebum  2 роки тому

      I did make a guide on how to expand your base radius, so that helps to reach the far out hotspots (at least when within 2000u of each other).
      However, the hotspots have a fixed position, they do not generate on different locations per save. You will always find the same hotspot and class in the same location, no matter what save you are in (even different game modes).

    • @Dragonopolis
      @Dragonopolis 2 роки тому

      @@Beeblebum I'm not a youtube or even a screenshot creator so I have no picture proof, however my son and I have played awhile and have played many games I wish I would of recorded where I was on the same planet on the same exact coordinate with the same permanent tree,rock, lake but the hotspot was not in the same exact spot sometimes pretty close..... it can happen.... sometimes(I had a new game where I eventually got to the same spot only to find the same hotspot slightly shifted under a huge permanent tree.
      It made extracting a problem more work than I wanted to put into building for a general easy to find resource). The class of hotspot can changed as well. There were games where hotspots were in same area and minerals were the same but layout/ location was different...
      Now I might have made the mistake of not clarifying that I was talking about clean new generated games.... not one I've already have.... these saves are slightly different from old games I've created. There are fixed planets and objects in the game but when I share hotspots and other players share theirs hotspots don't generate exactly the same every time between new games. We've even tried deleting old saves too test if that would released the hotspot to another player but came too the conclusion that old saves do not affect the hotspot class, position, or availability of a new game save....
      We did find that as long as you have the same save a person can rest assured that when leaving a planet no matter how long the hotspot does return to the same spot within the same save.
      Unfortunately players don't have unlimited game saves so eventually you have to manage your saves choosing which version of the nms universe you want to keep.
      Its amazing how many times I've created new game saves I always will revisit my favorite neighborhood spots but still plays/feels different because not everything in NMS universe transfers across new games like resources.. Occasional class change in resouces can appear; where I received a better class than what I've found before. I try to go back to my older save to claim the same find but can't find it anywhere near/exact same coordinates I found with the new game.
      It wasn't a complaint but just an observation made over years of playing No Man's Sky.
      The differences can be frustrated when you play a new game but it also keeps new games feeling fresh which can be rewarding.

      The 100% can be hard to find, but on an S-Class, that should be the easiest one to find it.
      Try moving in straight lines left and right.. Find the max percentage you can find on that line, then move up and down, again trying to find the best percentage...
      It can be a hassle, I know.. But The 100% of an S-class hotspot is the largest of all classes, so it is definitely there!
