1:10:29 Hear, hear. It baffles me when some say things like 'what will people think?' or 'It's too awkward at outings / in social situations.' Who the hell cares? Are they living in your body? Are they paying your medical bills, as Dr Klaper says?
Time to stop paying mind to petty things like what others will think. Save yourself, save the planet. Thrive and let the planet thrive. Plants, period. It's win-win-win-win-win.
Thank you, Dr Klaper. You're a treasure and an inspiration.
Thank you, Plant Based Nutrition Organization of Wisconsin. Look forward to following you.

Started being whole foods plant based this past July 1 after a year of various diets. The Gamechangers really did it for me along with videos from all these great doctors. I look forward to running my 31st marathon in October and first as a plant-based athlete.

It was awesome when I became vegan 7 years ago. Not eating anything coming from animal sources made a difference in my health. Last month, I upped the ante and started plant-based eating. I feel better than ever before. Someone asked me today whether I don't have the temptation to eat meat sometimes. I replied, NEVER, on the contrary, I only have the temptation to not eat meat.

As an oldie who came to a PBD late in life I am always on the lookout for some very simple cookbooks. Whenever I buy what looks a good book it usually involves a whole list of ingredients when what I need is something simple and easy to put together.

I started eating a WFPB diet about a year ago after being told I was in stage 3 CKD. My eGFR has gone back up to over 70% and while I’m still working on my hypertension, I have high hopes. I’m 64 so it might just take a while. Thank you Dr. Klaper!

Same for me. EGFR went from 45 to 77 within a few months. Gone from 4 BP meds to just 1. Still have weight to lose, so hoping to get rid of last BP Med too.

Hi Linda, you story sounded like mine. I was diagnosed stage 3A (stage 3 has two levels - A and B) kidney disease (had no symptoms) almost 4 years ago. Doctor told me I'll have it the rest of my life! She said "try not to let it get to level 4". Ok, I asked how? Said they don't do anything at a level 3. Just come back in 3 months and we'll see where you are at. Ha! My wife found someone who was at a 5 and brought his down to a level 3. I followed the routine (all plant based), and drank a whole celery blended with water every morning for 30 days, ate mostly raw fruits, veggies, lentils, beans, etc. Got my protein from plants. In 3 months, went to kidney doctor, gave blood, etc. Took an ultrasound, and while on the table as she was looking at my kidneys the technician says, "Now tell me again why are you here again?" I told her, my doctor told me I was diagnosed with level 3 kidney disease. She took more pictures, then said, "Hmmm. I don't see anything. Your kidneys are beautiful! Come see..." They couldn't find anything and my blood results were good as well. Be encouraged!

Since I switched to a Carnivore Lifestyle, 1 year ago, I feel terrific. My arthritis is cleared up, no brain fog, no irregular heart beat, even my heel cracks are gone, and so much more. Also I have great energy and sleep well every single night. I started with paleo, then a keto, and then carni. The gradual progression on this elimination diet showed me exactly how the body is getting healthier and stronger each step of the way. So glad I at least tried it. And I will be staying on this forever.

When I announced to my wife that I was going vegan, she was not happy to say the least. She went through the five stages of grief. The impossible eventually became possible. She now makes us delicious vegan dishes and eats her meat, fish, poultry, and dairy foods on the side. My physical health markers have improved, especially my kidney eGFR which has jumped from 52 to 67. My LDL cholesterol is way down from 134 to 102. My weight is down about 4 lbs. I'm taking 1500 mcg of vitamin B12 once a week and a daily pill of 300/150 DHE/EPA Omega 3. I hope that's enough?

Great info. Just confused about the Maillard reaction occurring in the body. In cooking the Maillard reaction occurs between 284 and 330F, way hotter than the body. Maybe it is a different reaction? Still, agree completely on what to eat and what not to eat. Plant-based and loving it.

In the picture at 28:00, we see the narrowing because the picture is taken at 90 degrees from the plaque. If the picture had been taken from the right would we have seen the narrowing.
Also in the upper part where the artery is wider there is a region that is white, what is that? That white area disappeared on the picture on the right.
