Thank you I’ll be 80 in July and I’m not on any medication. Thanks to you gentlemen doctors.
Wow! Can you tell us more? I think you should share what you do to help us know more. I seldom see comments like yours that seems too good to be true.
Hey I’m 70 too! 🎉 whole plant 🌱 exclusive all the way 🪴

Me too!
Me too. WFPB all the way!!!!!

Same! 💪
Dr. Ornish and Dr. Barnard and their research saved my life and helped me loose 175lbs. Both are wonderful humans who care and help people get well and help themselves.
Such kind words! We're so glad you've found value in the research 🙂
73, whole food plant based 12 years. My cholesterol went from 202 to 141. Lost 38 pounds and have kept it off. The great vegan recipes saved me.
Saved me from high cholesterol, migraines, leg pain, and so many other ailments. I have no pain now, whereas before I had many ailments.
two of my heros! didn't realize Dr Barnard is 70 already, wow!
Me too. I'm surprised that Dr Bernard is 70
I love the sweet spirit of these two men. They are such great role models

Thank you for watching! We're glad you found it informative 🙂
Wow 70 !!! He looks so good !
G-d bless Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Neal Barnard and all the medical professionals contributing better quality of health to humanity🙏🏻
Two men that heroically paved the way for health. Wouldn’t it be amazing to know the number of people they have helped live healthier lives? I am one of them. My lungs and sinuses have always been so full of mucus that even as a child I couldn’t breathe deeply. Might not sound like a big deal but it affected my sleep, ability for exercise, circulation, energy, stress levels, teeth, spiritual connection, everything. Now that I am eating healthy, I am exercising everyday, I feel younger, my sleep is incredible and the list does on. I didn’t even know I was sick! lol 💚✨🌿 Love to you both!
Thank you for all your research and efforts to educate about WFPB benefits for our health and the health of our world, Drs. Ornish and Barnard ! I am so grateful I found your work. Great hearts and minds, indeed ! Thank you !
Welcome to the 7th decade Dean 👍 Rock on 🙂.
Actually, isn't 70 the beginning of the 8th decade?
@@sherwinmoscow9455 Tech nically correct, but he'll be 70 for 1 whole year 👍
Looking so forward to the next ICNM! Excited to see the line up of presenters and of course, hear Dr. Ornish share another incredible study of reversing disease with diet and lifestyle! Thank you PCRM for all you do!
Guys, PCRM, and your members and Dr Ornish: Yiu need to know this ( and have admired both in Insta): Way back in the 80s, my Grandma purchased Ornish book Reversing Heart Disease. We were already vegetarians so the shift was easier. Decades on, my father passed away at 90, Mom alive and thriving in her 80s, her mother, my Grandma who got the book, nearly 105. All of us and family consider Dr Ornish worthy of worship and thanks to PCRM to proselytise the messages of plant food to the many if the less informed P’s of the world
I’m 43 and only 3 years whole food plant exclusive. Grateful for these amazing doctors to be finally able to live my best life ever!
Thank you Drs Ornish and Bernard. Am 80. Try to maintain my health as much as possible.
I have been waiting for this study. We must be closer!
The hardest part about eating whole plant foods is being around people who don't. Hands down. We love our food.
That’s true. It still surprises me how many people will simply refuse to try vegetables, even for one meal.
Legends .looking great at. 70 ,plants for the win 🙏
AT 76 I am Your elder. So with much respect I say - slow down Your speaking, pause and take a breath. People will grasp more of what you are saying. With great respect Sir.
You can slow the speed of their speaking on your internet access device.
I don't think they are talking too fast. But from the east coast....used to it ;-)
I'm 76.5, have been on Dr. Dean Ornish's program for reversing heart disease for 32 years now. People do tell me that the program is hard, I counter that yes it is but it works!!!
PS in July 2024, will complete 25 years of leading Yoga classes! I was inspired to attempt to get into an MD / PhD program in 1995, I settled for a second BS in Chemistry: Biochemistry.
Two of my favorite people! I'm glad Dr. Ornish has a good life now. Both are such admirable men!
i love dr Neal Barnard so much ❤
I follow a plant-based diet (two-years on it) based on the work of Dr. Ornish, Dr. Greger, and others, with great subjective results and excellent objective results based on a broad panel of biomarkers. I lost 30 pounds on a high-carb diet with 50% of calories coming from carbs (good carbs - vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains). The work of Dr. Ornish should be public knowledge and should be taught in high schools.
Great Topic !! Thank You!! 🙌🏻
Our pleasure! 🙌
❤ changing from Fear of dying to Joy of living! Changes in eating & lifestyle all at once make you feel better faster, which encourages sticking with the changes, to continue feeling better. Yes! Great message ~ thank you Drs Ornish & Barnard 🤗
I had chronic inflammation for years and it went off the charts in 2023. I went and had blood test and got on some supplements to help reduce it and didn’t feel better until I had a food allergy test and found out that I was allergic to things that are really good for you like broccoli and rice, I cut about 10 foods out of my diet and my life has changed drastically for the better. I highly recommend a food allergy test for people that are having health issues.
Which foods they were?
I totally agree! Simply omitting the suspected food group for several weeks, then reintroducing it will let you know quickly if you have a food sensitivity, or intolerance. Happened to me with dairy.
Then the next step is heal the leaky gut which can eventually resolve most food intolerances people call allergy. 🥦❤ Glad you are feeling better
I am a 70 year old female with a very high calcium score and one stent. I have books written by both of you gentlemen but do have a hard time sticking to a total plant based diet. I reread Dean Ornish's original book on heart disease reversal. I may check into the Ornish program with Medicare as an option. I am on straight Medicare with a very good supplemental health insurance. Thank you both for this interesting video.
I really reccommend Dr. Caldwell Esselytn's book for your situation.
The tip in mindful eating, that was good. I hadn't thought about paying attention to how I feel after, for immediately and hours later. If people do that I think it would make an impact.
Thank you! 🥦❤ Love this: spending as little time as possible with people who do not bring out my best self ❤🥦
Great Talk ! I'm only 2 yrs. & 15 days younger than Dr. Ornish, & i think age 19-20, is about par age for collegiate- 'depression'... Was for me. It's when you kind of reasses yourself & 'the world'... Then in 1988, U TX SW Med School, had first 'Nutritionist' gal, i'd ever met, & i worked there, & remember thinking, 'what' ??? i also remember being 'dismissive,' at which she kind of glared, 'You'll see'... 😂 This, even tho' i'd pursued Natural Herbs & Health Food Stores, since 1979 !!! She was right: Now i'm all-Ears, so THANK YOU !!!
Love ornishes dyed hair!! Fabulous.
Pandemics and disease have been plagueing homosapient for thousands of years. The sooner people accept we are not a carnivorous species the better off humans will be. The denial is endless and is perpetuated by powerful financial interests not human healt.
Imagine a World where doctors want to improve your health , with no financial benefit to themselves .
Oh wait , they're already here :)
Money are not always a reason. Time to time it's for example ideology...
Chuck, I would love to see some research that puts three WFPB SOS-free diets head to head, one high in fat, one high in carbs and one high in protein. Maybe there should be a fourth to act as a control that has an even balance of macronutrients.
I have a friend with type 2 diabetes who has had surgery for cardiovascular issues and ovarian cancer. She is trying to follow a WFPB diet, however her dietitian is advising her to keep her net carbs under 135g per day. This is not easy to do on a WFPB approach. It's possible, but it involves what looks to me like an unhealthy amount of dietary fat, even if all sources are WFPB.
Meanwhile it would be great if you could do a discussion session with Dr Barnard talking about this issue. I think as WFPB diets become better accepted overall, there is going to be more need for clarity around these issues. It's fine to say any increase in WFPB eating is better than none but it would be tragic if it imploded through lack of understanding. To me, low carb WFPB is like swimming in gumboots and a raincoat. It's not impossible but is it really a good idea?
Thanks for your work. I truly appreciate what you and your colleagues do.
NATHAN PRITIKIN WAS THE FIRST TO SHOW REVERSAL OF ARTERY DISEASE
...and then...
He wasn’t the first.
I’m really angry with doctors and others in medicine who decide that their patients will be non-compliant and so don’t even tell the patients that life style changes are a realistic option.
Both Neal and Dean would know a lot more now had they studied Herbert M. Shelton, Isaac Jennings, Sylvester Graham, Russell Thacker Trall (wrote 1st American vegan cookbook and had connection with the Seven Day Adventist) and the Natural Hygienists' greatest health discovery!. Studying and understanding their HEALTH system that includes THE UNITY OF DISEASES IS WORTH EVERYONE'S TIME!!!!
😢😮😅😊😮😢
Natural Hygienic System
Such Wisdom made simple, all men prove by research and such hard work is what God said in Gen 1:29 “Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed and every tree with fruit bearing seed to be your meat”
Oxygen deprivation is the number one cause of Alzheimer’s. There are many factors that cause low oxygen levels in the blood, such as dietary fat, which causes insulin resistance and impairs, oxygen transportation, other factors like being dehydrated and sedentary caused by lack of carbohydrates and water intake other are also the other biggest factors.
Can you refer me to studies on this? I'm very interested in learning more
This was great. The old knowledge is power notion was never right in my opinion. It's only transformative if the knowledge is applied, if it's put into practice. This is what I take away from this one/two punch of Barnard and Ornish, their knowledge (always ongoing) and work.
Those who refuse to act on their knowledge have more power than those who are ignorant. Knowledge is power. Applied knowledge is wisdom.
❤shared.

Wonderful!!!! I wish everyone in other countries had access to doctors and programs such as these two amazing doctors promote. I don't knoow how I would go about convincing a doctor here (Norway) to work with me or my family but it needs to be heard.
But Dr. Barnard, you look much younger than Dr. Ornish.
They are both handsome men who have contributed so much to the world!
I agree Dr Neal Barnard looks great
Yes, some people look better than others.. Genetics do work for some things...
Thank you so much!
Nice video!
I'm 67...I feel like a pup...
I'm the RN CDE I live in southwest Florida,
I've looked carnivore diet videos just for curiosity. Amazing they are taking no fibre or phytochemicals and that they think they are doing themselves a favour
How do we know the Alzheimer's diet has to be low total fat? Was there a control group eating just plants but with no restrictions on fat intake? I understand that on the diet total fat was restricted to 12-18% of total calories. To maintain your weight without consuming more fat than that will mean stuffing yourself with a lot of high carbohydrate foods.
We don't know that yet

Meanwhile my in laws won't listen at all, having early stages alzheimer but eating mascarpone while just having a beer and having coffee after the dinner. I could almost see the brain cells die before my eyes (keeping in mind dr. Peter Rogers' Neuro-Vascular Uncoupling (NVU) theory of dementia).
Go for a walk after dinner and don't talk if they're not listening.
I have a dementia play-list.
If you really care to help.
@@mballer Thank you, a youtube play list won't help unfortunately, they don't speak any English :(.

???? I would of asked is a raw wfpb diet better than cooked????
👍👍👍
Doesn't his study use fish oil?
It uses 14 supplement pills taken each day that some Alzheimer's patients might choke on if they are not paying attention.
No it doesn't
Chew on flax and eat walnuts and you won't need fish oil
So if my 92 year old mom has dementia and lives in assisted living, is she too old to have it reversed? We should have programs for at living to feed people better. They get lots of carbs and meat. Mostly chicken.
Have you asked the assisted living facility to feed her vegan meals?
@@annemccarron2281 no I have not. I didn’t think I had that option. I could talk to them and see what they say. I want to make sure she gets enough protein and that they don’t just give her salads or something without beans or grains. I’m not sure how she should eat. Is there a guide for people in their 90’s?
@lkfs55
What about trying a carnivore diet?
Is that guy using hair dye?
This image of doctor Dean Ornish looks very artificial.
N = 51; marginally significant findings. Data not available to anyone who wants it. Hmm.
I recently started the carnivore diet - ONLY meat, and it healed my 5-year colitis problem! Millions of people are now using meat and high saturated fat to heal every ailment, disease, condition, autoimmune disorder, and syndrome under the sun. . .even mental disorders. Thousands of people who have been vegan for years and who eventually became totally mineral deficient and had developed other problems are switching to carnivore diets and regaining their health and feeling better than ever! MEAT IS MEDICINE! Cut out all plants, grains, nuts, seeds.
Excuse me sir this is a Wendy's. Flat earth society meeting is across the street.
I always appreciate listening to and learning from Dr Ornish but the insertion of canned laughter is so ridiculous and so unnecessary.
FYI "canned laughter" isn't what you mean, thats what used to be called a laugh track. Its a recording of laughs being player often for sitcoms.
I wonder how Dean reconciles that his wife, Ann, has been practicing what he preaches and still got breast cancer.
The answer is in the 2015 study title: Oxalate induces breast cancer. "We found that all tested breast tumor tissues contain a higher concentration of oxalates than their counterpart non-pathological breast tissue. Moreover, it was established that oxalate induces proliferation of breast cells and stimulates the expression of a pro-tumorigenic gene c-fos." Notice the study says "all tested" not maybe, might be, perhaps, could be, possibly, sometimes, "but all". What foods are high in oxalates?
@@Jeffs60 I wonder if Dean has cautioned on foods with oxalates?
There are many causes to breast cancer, not just the food has estrogens, it's also in our shampoo, health care products, clothing, air.

Why do these doctors look so unhealthy and gaunt?
At least they look better than Dr. McDougall.
Eat Meat, Not Too Little, Mostly Fat
ORNISH STOLE HIS IDEAS FROM THE GREAT NATHAN PRITIKIN
and your point?
Are you accusing him of plagiarism? This is quite a strong and serious accusation. What is your evidence?
Nor the same dietary recommendations at all.
Dr O looks horribly old.
Yes!
But, I bet he is healthy inside his body.
He’s not a skin doctor 😮.
He looks 50. He's in fact 70.
I think he looks great for his age! The lighting on him is not good, but he has very few wrinkles for a man that age.
Not bad for 70! Still has his hair, eyesight and more importantly his brain.
Wouldn't it be better to not say anything than to say something so negative? I hope you contribute 1/100th as much as he has in his lifetime. If you do, then no one will have the right to say anything negative about you because you will be a true hero!
Whole Food Plant Based Diet, no salt sugar oil has changed my life. I suffer less and I contribute less suffering of the entire planet.
