Happy New Year! I'm so glad this video is doing well because it was very important to me and I was flat out exhausted when I shot this. I probably hadn't slept in a week at least trying to crash on people's couches, sleep in my car a time or two, I even tried to sleep in a hotel one night and it was just too loud, etc. I was a long ways from home traveling through Florida doing interviews and this one lined up right at the end of a very long run. The night before I shot this I did a very long interview with two vegan sailors, Scott and Kim. We didn't get done with that interview until after midnight. I tried to sleep on their sailboat for a few hours before I rolled out that morning to do this interview with Dr Esser. Like all these interviews I didn't know what I was getting into until I got there. But I knew this would be a special one. Shooting outside seemed most ideal at the moment but was very challenging because the light kept changing with the clouds moving in and out between the Sun and us. We ended up having to change locations when The sun became too bright on him. The occasional plane was pretty loud forcing us to cut a time or two as well. And then out of nowhere closer to the end the wind started picking up causing a distortion in the mic. Meanwhile I'm trying to focus on what he's saying as well as the next question...
This interview is the first in a year long series of interviews, talks, and more on topic of raising children vegan. I'm excited to finally shift away from interviews with longtime vegans, athletes, advocates, success stories, etc... to vegan parents, lifelong vegans, and professionals who speak on the subject. In between editing a years worth of interviews I've already shot (currently about 54 I need to finish editing on this subject) and anticipating future interviews, I am also building a website called RaisingChildrenVegan.com that will hopefully be a good resource for those wanting to learn more. Or place for those already doing this to join and share their story to inspire others.
My name is Jeff. If you like the work I'm doing consider contributing to help me keep the cameras rolling, editing going, and vegan world growing! The easiest way to contribute is here: veganlinked.com/fundme/

I shot this a few years ago and archived it to release when I had more interviews on the subject of raising children vegan. I had edited it back when I archived it. I happened to be editing over it one more time on Christmas day and the part when Dr Esser starts saying this is greatest gift struck me. I had also heard others say the same thing in interviews.. So I rendered that section out and titled it The Greatest Gift You Can Give Your Child" ua-cam.com/video/Y5M8l5j55po/v-deo.html I didn't release it though because I wanted to proof it better and maybe make a better thumbnail and what not. But, because it was christmas day I had to leave. So I figured I would release it sometime around November 2025. But I might do it sooner...

Wow, this vegan activist is so passionate about promoting healthy living! Theyre sharing a video that highlights the incredible benefits of adopting a plant-based lifestyle.
Firstly, they emphasize how crucial it is to recognize our health as the greatest gift we can give ourselves. Its all about taking control and making conscious choices that align with our values and priorities. By doing so, we can create a team around us that supports our journey towards optimal wellness.
The activist shares their own success stories, including one about an 81-year-old gentleman who transformed his health in just four weeks by following a vegan nutritional program. The before-and-after changes were remarkable, with significant reductions in blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and even the elimination of diabetic neuropathies!
Throughout the video, this passionate individual stresses that excuses are just that excuses! We have the power to choose our path, and its time to stop putting up barriers to achieving our best health. Whether its meal prep, hiring a chef, or finding support from like-minded individuals, there are always ways to make healthy living more accessible.
The vegan activist also emphasizes the importance of recognizing our strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and challenges in order to create a personalized plan that works for us. Its all about being proactive, rather than reactive, when it comes to our health.
Their quote from earlier resonates deeply: Your health is the greatest gift you get from eating a healthy program. This is what I love most about this activist their genuine passion and conviction in promoting a plant-based lifestyle that benefits not just ourselves but also animals and the planet!
What do you think about this vegan activists message? Do you have any favorite quotes or stories to share?

There was a part that I feel needs clarification - at 8:29 - he has the right idea, but I feel wrong explanation. Ca is 2+, not 1+, and because Na is 1+ - it's more easily able to attach, as it only takes 1 to, rather than 2. That's fast enough to win the race against calcium by double to push it out and since it's only 1 electron instead of 2, which it needs - you probably get more, smaller half-holes in the bone.

I guess the dreary season coupled with overeating amongst family and friends during the holidays and this happening year after year building momentum in the wrong direction really has a toll on our health in the long run. I've been doing better during the holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I either don't visit family or I just eat before I go or I bring plenty of food. But yeah it's easy to get carried away with the baked goodies and I have too much fun in the kitchen and then want to reward yourself with eating it all. I think one of the dilemmas humans are facing is over nutrition and under activity. There's just not enough to do with all this energy we have! Think this post is maybe what you refer. Natural Hygiene was taught by Natives to USA medical people & those teachings remained the law of the land up until the late 1800's when big pharma began to take over making Natural Hygiene unjustly obsolete until early 1900's when Herbert M. Shelton re-founded the orthopaedic practice at his health sanatoriums & by the 1950's he ran for potus, but big oil land grabs & big pharma swindles had a monopoly by then, also it was further corrupted by the liquor industry that had spiraled out of control as a drug of choice ever since the 1930's. So it is way past time to make Natural Hygiene a part of our daily lives again, as the once sober apple cart was upset too many times over the years by oppressive governmental inebriated addicts who have been increasingly abusing a once sound medical practice here in America for far too long. Here is my take on needed improvements for those who have yet them or even considered changing these corrupt current laws yet. Back around the 70's reagan began shutting down state hospitals to save taxes for the rich resulting in an ever increasing spiral of homeless street people & overcrowded prisons. Reagan was inebriated on his bubbly. That points to another mess up that occurred back in the 30's when they made alcohol their drug of choice as legal recreation & criminalized other intoxicants. Past time for a resolution to both these gross errors. 1- make all drugs & alcohol legal medically with supervision. 2-drug & alcohol test all law enforcement, politicians, educators & gun owners at their own expense, never as illegal recreation in use currently. Until those insane obsolete laws, rules & regulations are changed with appropriate resolutions the errors of the past will continue to escalate.

And he doesn't drink coffee! About osteoporosis: you can be vegan, but eating a lot of vinegar which is so acid that it forces the body to release big amounts of calcium to balance the ph factor. Plus what the doctor was mentioning about too much salt and coffee. But vinegar is a big contributing factor for creating Osteoporosis. You can heal this issue by eating big amounts of leafy greens in smoothies and juicing. I got this information from Medical Medium. So it's great to be vegan And if you have health issues look into Medical Medium for solution tweeks to your current diet.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  День тому +1

@@tamarahimmelstrand8985 I've heard of medical medium a few times but usually from sketchy sources like vegetable police lol. Vinegar is actually a super ingredient! It helps with mineral absorption and I think even blood pressure control and digestion etc. in fact Dr Greger I think even mentions adding it to basically every meal. The thing about osteoporosis I think is most important is physical activity coupled with good diet. So like impact causes micro fractures in the bone that help pull more calcium into the bone. As for an acidic diet preventing calcium from being absorbed or whatever, I think Dr Greger even has a video on that kind of debunking that whole idea. But of course Dr Milton Mills has a good explanation as to why that may be the case and actually not even true. So there's still a lot to learn here I guess and respect to osteoporosis and calcium and so on.
I have an interview with Jack Norris, RD that you may like to check out. He created veganhealth.org and Vegan Outreach. Anyways he's really savvy and mentioned that not only calcium but also beta-carotene is helpful for bone density, if I recall correctly. Osteoporosis in women is a good indicator of hormonal issues. Men produce testosterone and the aromatase enzyme is released when levels exceed homeostasis. The reverse is true for women. So if a woman doesn't have enough estrogen, she will have low testosterone. Low testosterone is guaranteed to reduce bone mineral density. Women, and especially the older ones, should be consuming things like fenugreek to boost their hormone levels (perhaps in cycles, though). As always, do your own research. Low testosterone can cause a plethora of issues, as well.

@@cel4lyf Here, this sums it up from chatgpt:
"There isn't robust scientific evidence specifically linking veganism to significantly lighter menstrual bleeding or spotting alone. However, there are a few factors related to vegan diets and menstrual health that could provide some context:
      Nutritional Factors
      Low Body Fat Percentage:
A vegan diet, particularly one that is low in fat and calories, may lead to a lower body fat percentage in some individuals. Extremely low body fat can result in irregular periods or amenorrhea (the absence of menstruation), but this is generally seen in cases of undernourishment or over-exercise rather than healthy veganism.
      Hormonal Regulation:
Diets high in plant-based foods are naturally low in saturated fats and may influence hormone levels, including estrogen. A decrease in estrogen levels could theoretically lead to lighter periods, but this is more likely in individuals who are undernourished rather than those on a balanced vegan diet.
      Micronutrient Intake:
Vegan diets are rich in anti-inflammatory foods, which might reduce menstrual symptoms like cramps or heavy bleeding. Additionally, deficiencies in iron, zinc, or vitamin B12 (common in poorly planned vegan diets) can impact menstrual health.
      Evolutionary and Multigenerational Considerations
There is no specific research on the menstrual patterns of multi-generational vegans or lifelong vegans. If dietary habits lead to long-term shifts in hormone levels or body composition over generations, there could be theoretical impacts on menstrual patterns, but this remains speculative.
      Anecdotal Reports
Some individuals on long-term vegan diets report lighter or less painful periods, which they may attribute to reduced inflammation or hormonal changes from a plant-based diet. However, these are personal experiences and not universally observed.
      Conclusion
While it's possible that certain aspects of a vegan diet could influence menstrual bleeding, the evidence is indirect and not specific to multi-generational or lifelong veganism. More research is needed to establish any direct connection between long-term vegan diets and menstrual bleeding patterns. If you’re looking for more personalized insights, consulting with a gynecologist or a dietitian knowledgeable in plant-based nutrition might help."

@@cel4lyf It sounds like you're mixing things up here, sure, a well planned vegan diet, a change in dietary patterns, a change in life in general, stress, post trauma, all kinds of things can have an effect on menstrual cycles. A diet, vegan or not, can definitely change things, but a well planned vegan diet as you said result in tiny drops. You went from tiny drops to saying you went from super heavy to not super heavy. "Normal" is what happens on average, even if it isn't healthy. Whether or not it is normal to have heavy periods is kind of irrelevant. If you're trying to say that eating healthier and vegan improved your experience with your menstrual cycles I can totally believe that and understand how that may be the case. But reduce it to mere spots, maybe, but not on average and not because they're "vegan". My wife had worse bleeding after going vegan. But, this was because of an underlying condition not related to veganism. It took her years to resolve and she finally did and now has a healthy period, not excessive bleeding, not excessive pain, etc... There's just too many variables to consider here. A woman just being around another woman can change her cycle.

I'm not a religious follower of some diet, I'm a seeker. I have chronic diseases and that's why I experimented with different diets. First was veganism, it brought me some relief from the disease, but not to a sufficient extent. That's why I became a raw vegan. I had bigger effects there, but I didn't manage to make this diet sustainable. And finally, I tried a meat-based diet with lots of salads and a low percentage of carbohydrates. It gave me the most relief from the disease, the best appetite control, improved vision, clean and shiny skin, good mood, better energy, no sleepiness after eating, muscle definition, etc.. But on such a diet, I have no libido... That's why I'm still in search... My problem with the plant-based diet is legumes, they really bother my stomach but also my joints, and the other problem is starch, which causes mucus to be secreted post-nasally, and in my eyes, so my vision is blurred... How can that be? solve?

It’s your microbiome. If You get that fixed ( which isnt easy bc Lots of Trial and error) You need the right probiotic. After it’s fixed you will feel good on any food. No specific diet needed. Ofc keep it as Natural as possible

@@gagis9058 If you genuinely want to be vegan then you will find every way possible to stop all commodification and exploitation of animals. If you need help with your diet then you will consult a dietitian, nutritionist or physician that practices lifestyle medicine since they understand Evidence-Based nutrition and how someone having difficulties can acclimate properly. There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of whole vegan foods to choose from and tailor your diet to your specific needs and desires. You can do this! There's lots of online sources as well that can help like with Physicians committee for responsible medicine, vegan Outreach, Plantrician project probably has some things, American College of Lifestyle medicine, etc or you may even need to visit some place like Hippocrates Wellness or probably even better TrueNorth. I have interviews with people from both of those places actually.
