These are my favourite kinds of videos from Andertons. Watching Lee and Pete together makes you feel like you’re just friends hanging out, goofing around and checking out cool gear.
Into the video less than 3 minutes, and I am literally laughing out loud. Anderton videos featuring Danish Pete and The Captain are always a highlight of my UA-cam viewing.
Walrus is really knocking it out with their pedals lately. If I didn't already have the Microcosm, the Fable would be a great alternative, especially if combined with the Cloudburst or Walrus' Lore.
Shout out to Lee, Pete and the Andertons Music Co. team from a happy new U.S. customer. While I do believe in supporting my local music stores, it’s nice to give Andertons some business as this is easily my favorite UA-cam channel for learning about new gear while also having a laugh, and enjoying the vibes. Just received my Archer Select pedal from Andertons yesterday and because of the currency exchange, the pedal was cheaper to purchase and ship from the U.K. than purchasing here in the states. Cheers mates!
Thanks for the vid guys. The DI can be used at the same time as the normal output to to send to front of house, recorder etc. More of a monitoring feature for live but can be used to record with some EQ and effects. Cheers!
You guys ought to do a comedy show. I really like the Caitlin bread pedal combined with Lees burp. Now that's what a real double cabeon is! Wow What sounds!
Thank you Lee and Pete, this was a lot of fun to watch, you guys crack me up! I'm looking to buy some pedal sound effect and this is a great way to experience them. I'm looking forward to adding to my collections! Hey, if I watch this video over again is it called a LeePete?
Pete and Lee are the only guys that can make a pedal demo so entertaining and funny. I really wish we could hear the uncensored versions of what garbage Lee and Pete talk about😂
I like the idea of the 5 different diodes to run thru... You'd definitely find a few settings that'd be favs.. I dunno the price, but 4 NOS germanium bits..it won't be cheap.
You guys are great for we nerdy guitar players who love exploring tone. I own several Klones but not the Archer. My favorites so far are the Tumnus and the economical Mosky golden horse.
I'm loving that "Klon" clone! As far as those other sounds...well I can get them all with Pollychrome DSP at a fraction of what all of those cost. I promise it's true!
Ok, not related to anything - how about a “Stupid Pedal Trick” episode: split a line from a microphone to a delay with dry kill so only the signal with a long delay goes out, followed by a Miku stomp, then have the other split be unaffected. The Pete can sing his song about his mother and have a call and response with the Miku.
My SO, shoulder surfing: "OMG. you *all* do that???" Me: Yes, yes, It seems like I fiddle with my pedals for hours. But they are part of the instrument. You experiment until you find things you like, and then practice and hone what you came up with until it sounds amazing. Win! That's how riffs like the intro to Welcome to the Jungle come about. SO: But mostly you're just playing with the damn thing, right? 😂😂😂
Speaking of pedals straight into a speaker, this can actually sound good in a DAW environment with some gear... The infamous boss Ds-1 distortion pedal specifically, for anyone who may wanna play with it, (and like me had one in a closet somewhere) sounds a LOT better DI into an interface with an IR thrown on it, then it EVER had for me running into the front of any amp (just make sure you have the level low, and instrument preamp turned OFF). It sounds better this way then running through an amp sim before the IR too. Send a dark, mid-gain tone from the pedal into an IR, and put a short decay reverb with plenty of high end on it. Run a single coil guitar. You'll be very surprised. (the old blues driver can get ya some unique and very usable sounds this way too, but it does usually sound better with an amp or a sim)
This new Archer klon clone select is Giving different options for driving your pedal into overdrive but most people probably 90% don't use the overdrive in a klon (clone) they use it as a clean boost. So this klon type pedal really appeases to the 10% that use the overdrive in the klon.
Awesome pedals but, I'm not buying anymore dirt pedals. I bought an obscure dirt pedal about a year ago on a whim- never heard of it, just wanted to try it- and it's turned out to be the best dirt pedal I've ever heard. I can't find anything that beats it- and I'm tired of spending big money trying to see if something is better. At this point I've pretty much decided there isn't anything any better. I've tried the JHS Moonshine, the JHS AT+, the MXR 5150, the B.E. OD, the Tumnus Deluxe, and countless budget options- nothing has beat it yet. It's the Alairex HALO Jr.- no longer made, but not that difficult to find. There are still quiet a few on the second hand market- but they go up in price everyday and if ppl ever discover this pedal- they will be gone over night- they're that good. Now as an OD- I would probably say the Tumnus Deluxe is at least as good, maybe better- but when it comes to moderate to heavy distortion- nothing touches it. It's got two clipping modes- symmetric- which is really open and OD like- and asymmetric- which is a little darker, much tighter, distortion. HALO stands for Harmonic Amp-Like Overdrive- and man is it amp like- really responsive to pick attack and cleans up beautifully with the volume knob on your guitar. The Jr. is a one channel dirt pedal- but he HALO senior is a two channel pedal with several clipping options, sag options, saturation switch, etc. Apparently the guy who invented them and started the company is well known in the industry for building quality studio gear. They just made this one pedal and then the company folded- not sure what happened.
Lee and Pete, I love the sound from the J Rocket. But, I have the cheap Klon pedal from wish, and that sounds pretty good...for a cheap pedal....all thebest guys.
I'm probably just too old, but I don't get much of this. I bought a Boss Blues Driver when they came out. That, and the amp controls is all I've ever used. Just the amp before the BD. With the BD my tone sounds great. I also have 4 or so cabs with different speakers, and also 4-5 heads to mix/match, and some combos. But I've collected all that over 55 years. I still haven't found a pedal that is 'the magic sauce' to make it all sound better. It's fun trying though 8) Peace.. --gary
The Klon may (or may not, depending on your situation) be overpriced but if it wasn't for Bill Finnegan building them in a little apartment in Somerville, Massachusetts, we wouldn't have all these cool copies. Thanks, Bill!
I honestly think we need a room mic segment for this stuff sometimes because I am either deaf, or there was little to no difference between the sounds when comparing the Klon diodes in the first section. I'm pretty sure they'd sound a lot different in the room though.
I watched like 10 reviews of this pedal and the different diodes are almost identical. Imagine the difference in a band context, it really does not matter. Guitar player are a easy target for marketing
Once in the band context, what guitar your using, how the volume/tone of said guitar are set, the reflections of the room the amp is sat, depending on the time of day , season of the year, what side of the bed you got out of that day, your dirt pedal(s) will sound different every time your plug in and play.
The "gloryfied" GE diodes are very subtle and start working when gain is near maximum, which is not the case with most Klon players I know, they tend to use it as a clean boost or light OD.
Because no one else has pointed it out yet, STS-88 was the first Space Shuttle mission to the ISS, delivering the Unity node. I assume, given the logo on the pedal is associated with multiple space-related things, that this is the intended reference, but I can't figure out why. Does anyone know if someone brought up a guitar on that flight, or something?
My thoughts on the di out with the archer select- they’re releasing a different pedal that will make use of that, and it was cheaper to order boards and enclosures that made use of it.
I sold my KTR pedal to my neighbor before they shot up in price…and replaced it with the RYRA Klone…. Not a good investment move but I love the sound of the RYRA….
Ok so I’ve spent $25,000 on all the gear that Pete has demoed and I still sound nothing like Pete! Maybe I just need one of those pedals. Where’s that damn credit card? 😂
What a great video, very funny, but this Archer Select is a joke. Apart from that, a Telecaster with a double binding is the most beautiful thing I ever seen.
The year is 2074. The video, another Klon shootout. With the cost of the original pedals eclipsing $1 Billion, this is a good time to look at some cheaper alternatives. LOL

no worries. thanks for the heads up!
These are my favourite kinds of videos from Andertons. Watching Lee and Pete together makes you feel like you’re just friends hanging out, goofing around and checking out cool gear.
Plus Pete is an outrageous guitarist
When you switch to your room/voice mics. Everything really opens up so nicely. You get a glimpse of the trails in a stereo field.
Into the video less than 3 minutes, and I am literally laughing out loud. Anderton videos featuring Danish Pete and The Captain are always a highlight of my UA-cam viewing.
Pete had guitarist stank face through that entire Doble Cabron demo, that face that says "damn that sounds good."
Pete is turning Anderton's into a house of LIES! LOL at the call-out.
I had to watch that cut-in at the beginning about Pete being wrong about the Klon shootout about 10 times. Good stuff lol
wow that Archer has several different modes of sounding exactly the same!
We all know that ultimate klon style pedal is Bad Monkey!
That's why I have 5 on my board 😂
@@PNWGuitar only 5? I have 3 separate pedalboards full. My net worth is pushing 5 million but I’m not selling a single one
Good pedal but it’s definitely its own thing
I call it my "Tube Creamer" but I use I with synths on low gain. Go figure.
Move on already
My favorite Klon style pedal is still the Tumnus Deluxe. It’s just on another level.
It's the best I've tried for sure 🙂
Never had a klone but got the deluxe coming in tomorrow. Can’t wait.
Walrus is really knocking it out with their pedals lately. If I didn't already have the Microcosm, the Fable would be a great alternative, especially if combined with the Cloudburst or Walrus' Lore.
Pete is always pushing the limits of what he can say and trying the Cap's patience. Am I right?!? Love it!
Yeah but he can get away with it because English is his second language. 😂

How many Klon Clones are there? Geez.
And OMG the name on that pedal. "Doble Cabrón". Many Spanish speakers will burst out laughing. I know I did.

The Doble Cabron is an insanely good pedal. You have to spend time with it to really unlock its full potential.
I just want a video of Pete and Lee playing a Beetronics only pedal board
Pete playing during the fable pedal gave me a Joe Walsh vibe. Very cool.
Captain Anderton & Danish Pete. The dynamic duo of gear demos !!! ( there’s a comic book in there somewhere lol )
