Join Strymon's Nick Casale and Sean Halley as they play through a wide variety of sounds and textures, all coming from the new Cloudburst pedal. With a powerful custom-tuned reverb algorithm initially based on Cloud from our flagship BigSky pedal, and the new Ensemble mode - which creates otherworldly synthetic string pads and soundscapes that organically follow your playing - Cloudburst could easily be the only reverb pedal you need on your board.
All samples recorded direct using Iridium as the amplifier. Nick had Deco on for all of his samples, and Sean boosted his Iridium with Compadre (and used Riverside in place of Compadre on 'Rootsy Slap' and 'Atmospheric Crunch').

I love how useful the sounds are throughout the entire decay range-the Cloudburst could easily replace multiple reverbs. And that synth string ensemble is more beautiful than that of any other 1/4"-based guitar synth I've heard. Absolute home run with this one.

I still love my BigSky and Cloud algorithm was the main feature why I've bought it few years ago. But the smaller format, ease of use, less current draw and ensemble feature.... damn that's impressive. Exactly what I need on my smaller pedalboard that I plan to build. Great times.
You're right about less current the Big Sky black holes all your other pedals it's so powerful

I love the synth quality in «forte» mode! That's beautiful and edgy :)
The Ensemble mode is what I always hoped strymon would start going into.
So fingers crossed for the big box orchestral machine with flutes, orchestra ensembles, brass, organ styles, etc. I would fall on my knees and uninstall all vst bc thats all I ever need haha.
The ensemble effect sounds amazing. I always chased after a sound like this by running an EHX mel-9 string/orchestra setting before my reverb, but this sounds so much more majestic and clear.

So nice when the actual playing/writing is as impressive as the actual (phenominal) pedal. Few gear demos do it as well as this one.

You've done it again, I will be reviewing this and I'm excited to keep it when I'm done. The big sky moved off my board due to its size but I have always missed the tone. This seems like an update that should be done every 4 years or so. Its been too long!
I just saw the Cloudburst featuring Danish Pete on the Andertons Music Co Channel in a Jeff Beck inspired demo. It is an absolutely epic, beautiful, sounding device. Danish Pete used it with several other pedals, and it is one the very best demos and results I've ever heard. You should consider sending him royalty checks, it is such an awesome demo. Congrats on making such a excellent pedal.
Mine's on the way and I'm excited to explore the sonic capabilities! I usually don't use effects with my acoustic, but this pedal's inspired me to see what I can do.

I love you guys Just bought this yesterday. Been thinking about a cloud only pedal for so long and then you guys go and put the ensemble thing in just completely level the playing field. This is knocking off of one of my other very high end reverb‘s (rhymes with universal awdio Holden heverberator for a little while.). Or may use both who knows

Marketing masterclass! The people said we want a cloud pedal and pedals in a more appropriate price range. But this cloud pedal is better and more unique than the bigsky cloud. Look it is stereo and fits on your pedal board. But I bought the bigsky and the bigsky plugin. Not one pedal is the same and you want them all. Marketing genius and extremely well thought out. What exactly are the settings used in the first 30 seconds of the video? Is it using a guitar or a synth?
Hey there - the intro is from the last example (it's just Cloudburst set to 100% wet) - you can see the settings on the pedal and watch Nick play the example at 10:37 in the video. Hope that helps.

I am down to this or Revelation V2. Cloudburst may sound a little better, but the presets on the revelation are a big advantage. For me anyways.

When the pedal is supposed to become the instrument and not just assisting the player with his instrument in his play, it is going over that what a pedal should be for me. I have too many pedals and also a lot of the ones from Strymon. Frustrating is the short honey moon when they arrive and now are collecting dust on the shelf. There are exemptions to this rule - like always. But it is a rabbit hole that leads to only a little for the significant amount of money involved.
