First of all - we are completely blown away by the love and support you showed us in last Wednesday's episode. There's no way that can properly thank you, but we want you to know how much the support means to us. Sharing these videos is incredibly vulnerable and you made us feel safe, seen, and heard so thank you for that...we are SO excited to continue this journey together in today's episode. P.S. are you guys liking using the premiere function on UA-cam? We're really enjoying watching the episodes with you all and chatting in the comment section. See you EVERY Wednesday at 9:00am Eastern, leave lots of love in the comments, looking forward to chatting❤
It will only be your 2nd episode and I am already addicted. I watch your podcast all the way from South Africa. The love and respect you have for each other is so admirable. Can’t wait for Wednesday 👏👏👏
My husband and I watch every video and now the podcast as well! I'm the parent of a gay son and seeing the love you two have for one another gives me hope that he will find an amazing partner some day!
I am 91 years old and I love utube for entertainment and you two adorable guys are at the top of my list!! I love your new podcast because you have explained so much of the background of the entire reasons of how and why you are there. I just love both of you and the respectful way you treat each other! ❤
I'm an elderly lady and I love listening and watching you two. I enjoy watching you work so hard for what you want for your future. Young people just don't want to work in today's times. But the 2 of you do. I'm proud of both of you.
I appreciate the sentiment of your comment but I don't agree with the statement that young people don't want to work. I think young people have figured out that greedy corporations have been exploiting working class people at pathetic wages for far too long and they aren't putting up with it the way previous generations have and I don't blame them. They should demand a better deal, we all should. I live in the USA and corporate greed has ruined our country, and I suspect it's a similar situation in Canada.
Todd nailed it with the explanation of the 'blur' we feel around 2020 and 2021. Like he said, there aren't the same anchor points that we usually have in life. Loving this chat style T&T - you're both such gorgeous souls 🙂 xx
I was so glad the blur was mentioned. With a parent with Alzheimer’s, I was beginning to think I was getting the early onset of the disease (which still may be the case but what you explained I can totally relate to).
As a teacher there was no room for blur! I have heard others speak of the blur but for me seriously it was ALL etched in permanently. Trauma that is punctuated by my students and families struggling as I tried really hard to provide a sense of calm, stability, normalcy and routine while knowing not much was normal or stable in the world. Meanwhile learning how to pivot to dysfunctional remote school to the best of my abilities was a unforgettable strain. No blur… no fog…I wish to forget but cannot.❤
Milwaukee is in Wisconsin guys. Also, as an older gay guy who is now disabled, you are living the life that I always wanted but never had the courage to step out and do. So I do live vicariously through you on your land. Thank you for being brave and going for it.
I love it so much! Todd loves Christmas so much that he convinced Tyler to live inside of a snow globe and I don’t think the Tyler has caught on yet 😂 🤣
“… not many (gay) people in our community live alone in the woods.” You guys are not living ALONE in the woods … you have each other ! … and that is what makes your story so compelling ! I am a gay man, in my late 60’s, who lives ALONE (after my WONDERFUL 30 year relationship/marriage with my husband) in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. It’s a whole different thing after you loose your spouse and live alone … and survive @ 9K ‘ … in the Colorado Rockies by yourself. I’m so HAPPY you have each other, and I’m LOVING your new “Tangents” podcast !
I'm someone whos been watching your videos for YEARS and has never commented, but I wanted you both to know that your videos (and now this podcast too!) are the highlight of my week! I'm a doctoral student living in a busy city with dreams of doing something similar to what you've done with your land when I graduate. Your videos ground me, give me an escape, and give me hope and ideas for my future! The love you have for each other is so astoundingly beautiful, and you always make us all feel included and loved. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us!!
This podcast just goes to show how we all can learn to be kind, respectful and genuine to ourselves and to each other. This is not an esy task. Sometimes it hurts. I take my own life lessons, listen to yours and learn a little bit more every time. Then, throw in a lot of craziness and laughter and the day gets a whole lot lighter. Thank you guys and all the best from Sweden 💕
I’m obsessed with your podcast style. It kind of takes me back to that episode you two released when you were sitting on lawn chairs in the river talking about your lives and answering questions. I just love the flow of conversation and the little tangents along the way. You guys were born for this! ❤
Thanks so much! It took us a little while to decide how we wanted to structure it but thought that just a casual conversation would be the best and I’m so glad we did
I also love the sitting in the River chat format! I wonder if Tangents can go to the river or garden as the seasons change? Meanwhile I adore watching you guys chat wherever the thought take you with squirrel wandering through. I feel like Charlie and Eddie often get screen time but Squirrel is a less frequent cameo on work days. It fun to see her making her presence known as you to sit and chat. My girl Chi also visits a lot when I sit on the couch. We call her “Goose.” I am amused that your cat is nicknamed after another animal and so is ours. How common is it that cats get nicknamed after other animals I wonder? Now I am on a tangent! ☺️🥰
You boys are adorable. When you hold hands when someone cries, it touches my heart. Cherish every second of your time together. I lost my husband of 27 years recently and I never could imagine the loss. Hearing you two communicate reminds me of the way it is meant to be. Watching you warms my heart
Tomorrow can’t come soon enough for me. I love your honesty, & the ability to let yourselves be so vulnerable is admirable! Know that you are both loved by so many, and that you are helping more people than you could ever know by just being yourselves! 😘 Roll on Wednesday! 💕🎤👨🏼🤝👨🏻🎤💕 PS: the Notification option is great!
I'm a retired lady who can't wait to listen to your new podcast which most definitely was the right decision. Sundays I watch for your utube uploads...grab a coffee and enjoy watching every minute of it. I I love that you share your love for each other. I was doggie sitting for my daughter and her wife and just happened to see your channel on their TV and I've been addicted ever since !!
It was so good to hear that the lock down period through Covid affected your memories as well. I have struggled when asked about when certain events happened previously. I feel that I have lost those two years and at the age of 71 that means so much as I can never get them back. I had so many things I had planned to do before I turned 70 knowing that as you get older each year becomes more important than the last. You two boys are hopefully an inspiration to lots of young people to go out and follow your dreams as none of us know what is round the corner. God bless you both. ❤
I get it, Elaine, I’m 69 and the pandemic period just flurried past with nothing to hold on to. I wasn’t even able to travel to see my Mum, who is now 94. She lives in Cyprus, I live in Germany, so visiting her just wasn’t possible. Before the pandemic I was always taking day trips around the countryside, or even to neighbouring countries, but that all stopped with the pandemic and now the inflation. Prices are so high that I can’t afford to travel anymore.
You are correct Tyler, I was very surprised to hear Todd say he was anxious! He just doesn't present himself as anxious whereas you do. You are an incredible team and the love you have for each other just shines ❤❤
I loved when you said it was someone else’s check list. So many live that way and you were lucky enough to see that when you were still young. You two have the success aura around you in everything you do. Love seeing the beautiful cat.
You two add so much quality to my life (81, female, straight, liberal) I cannot explain how much I adore and respect you. I laugh, I cry, I scratch my head and wipe my eyes…every time I see you. Have been following you for at least 3 years and hope you will keep going for all my days. And yours! Love love love you. Thank you.
I am enjoying MY coffee while listening to you ... first mug of the morning! I like your idea of people "paying" with food for the "food bank" while enjoying your (possible) Christmas Vista! You truly care about others, and as an ordained Minister (United Church of Canada) I commend you for your capacity to think of others! Bless You!
Thanks for these discussions to allow us to know you both better. This retired person of an advanced age with a much different story envies a lifestyle such as yours. My only difference is that I'm more comfortable in an urban environment but enjoy traveling to forests rather than the seashore. Bless you both.
❤ It is 4:30am here in Western New York and I can not sleep… I’m a Special Education Teacher with a lot going on at school… Love your chats and new forum… Thank You for taking us with you each week 👏🏼🍁👩🌾 Hugs from Kim in NY
Two of my nieces also work with special needs children, one as a social worker, the other as a teacher in a Waldorf school (a school founded by Rudolf Steiner with a very different education approach).
I love when you get into the deep discussion of when covid hit. It destroyed so many people's social life, and security. My empathy skyrocketed to the point where I became a hermit at home, and only went to work (health care) and then back home. The media scare was extreme, but the loss of life was also. And watching people I didn't even know lose their jobs, livelihood, and businesses broke my spirit again. I'm really not recovered from the emotional distress covid had on the world. Love you guys, I paused half way through to comment. Back to the amazing podcast!❤❤
Just love your relationship, work ethic, and humor. Plus I've learned so much from you both. Todd should be on a stage 🤗 Wednesdays are the best now, and Sundays of course ❤️
And again, you guys are to me the best example of a couple that respect each other. And build on each others love, strength, happiness and devotion. I really value that. Love the honesty on the podcast. Love from Leonie (52) from the Netherlands.
Your anecdote at the end hits a note with me. I didn't WANT to be gay (my Church opposed it at the time I was wrestling with understanding my young self, though now we celebrate the full rainbow spectrum. ) So I have two sons, now adults, and am happily gay, and am supported in this by my sons and by the wider community that is The United Church of Canada! It has been an interesting journey, to say the least, and while I have a few regrets (a relationship that would be possible today, but was not possible 40 years ago), I am content with where I am now, which I think is a good space to be in.
My husband and I had some of our best times during COVID. Lunch together every day, great long walks, and we got to be home every day all day with our aging Border Collie during his final months. Beautiful time.
Teatime....I was one of 4 friends who told our mutual friend that her livein boyfriend was cheating. He was seen with the same woman alllll over a few of the towns where we live. She refused to believe. It took her coming out of the shower and finding them together IN HER HOUSE. She moved to my place for about 4 months and then went back to him. We were all in our late 40'sat the time and had been friends for yrs!! CRAZINESS!! Love the podcast!!
I so needed this at this exact moment. Lived all my life in CA, moving to Tennessee. My whole life has been strategically planned by me, now I feel like I am walking into the deep end of the ocean. You are inspiring me to be less fearful. I get to create my future, and I am blessed to have the option to do so - and yes, emotional health has been a big reason, I am recreating my life.
This is clearly going to be one of my favorite listens each week! So interesting and yes, would love more details about the build at some point. Tea time was hilarious!
You guys are a RIOT! It's so entertaining to hear your honest views, ideas. Sometimes I laugh, then I'm crying, and yadayada. You crack me up with laughter. Don't stop this podcast EVER!
Thank you 2 for this podcast. Y'all have actually described the situation my husband and I kinda went through. We had all the boxes checked and I wasn't happy at all. He went to go do something one day and while he was gone I bought property in the country and sold our house. Yes its a struggle but to sit on the porch and look into the woods...I will take the struggle.
Oh you two are amazing. I’m a mum of two grown amazing men.and i’m also a sister to a gay brother and an amazing brother in law. After watching your you tube Chanel. Im so proud of the hurdles you have faced So much love to you two and you beautiful fur babies xxxx
YOU gave me a LIGHTNULB MOMENT ...my hubby lived in the country i lived in rhe city...and we had to combine our thinking on how to live ...he need the country life to function....i grew to LOVE LOVE it...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You two are so honest and funny. I personally like when your not drinking and your tangents are still easier to follow. Congrats 🎉 on your new channel❤
Never look for happiness. It will always be reliant on something or someone else. Look for peace, within peace you will find everything that you are looking for. 🙏🧡
What you have is, in my mind, a LEGO type of building, and I really LIKE it! It is so unique, and it suits your personality. I cannot imagine you being in a "regular-type" house.
Good morning guys! Have to say that this is a great idea. I'm always checking on Sundays for your posts. Usually I get Van Wives, they post earlier on Sundays and then I keep looking for you two! I'm a 69 year old straight woman. I've lived in many places, I am an Air Force brat and I am also an Air Force veteran 1974-78; 1980-1985. It was a great life. Now I can't walk because I wrecked both knees (they have been replaced) cross country skiing in Alaska. I lived there for 24 years, now in Texas. You both put so much into your relationship and I love you both. thanks for opening your lives to us.
I have a morbid fascination with sundial mottos… they almost all talk to the point of how time is finite and fleeting. Two of my favorites: Every hours wounds, the last one kills. And: It is later than you think.
I was fortunate enough to start watching you as you began the US RV journey and have been with you ever since. The incredible changes in your lives has just been so inspiring. I so look forward to your videos and now podcasts!
I’ve been watching you guys for a couple of years now and love the authenticity you oose. I am a priest in uk and have a wonderful all inclusive congregation. I prefer to refer to our couples as men who are gay rather than gay men. I know it’s a small point but important for my church community to hear. I am married to my husband and have a son. The reason I engage with you and others on utube is to inform me of how caring and what role models you are when it comes to pastorally caring for people who have relationships that are same sex. Sorry for the long winded comment.please keep on doing your utube stuff, it is educational to those who maybe less tolerant and indeed could well be ignorant. God bless you both. T
The dome is awesome and in winter, a reverse snow globe!!! I can't imagine how gorgeous it is in real life every day of the year, but to be able to sit warm and toasty while watching the snow through that huge window must be surreal!❤🐾🐱🐾❤️
It’s definitely been a challenging journey but in the end you both are going to be so happy and a bit less stressed in the next phase of of your beautiful lives together.💕
I started watching you UA-cam channel when you started to travel. I thought you were both just so fun, and your dogs were just so darn happy to be with you on the road full time. And then the panic of Covid and your rush back to Canada before they closed the borders. I loved watching how you have transformed the land. You have done an amazing job living off grid.
yes, golden handcuffs exist everywhere--btw, Milwaukee is in Wisconsin--I al most died from golden handcuffs--you guys are so lucky to have found out about yourselves at such an early age--I started actually living my authentic life at 53--I'm now 77 and grateful it happened but sorry I didn't find it earlier. You 2 are a huge inspiration
The sacrifices you two have made will be so worth it in the end. One of the first things I noticed about you is how hardworking you two are. You're such an inspiration to anyone who's even remotely thinking about living off grid. T&T have set the standard, and I absolutely LOVE you guys for it. This podcast is fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experiences, ideas, and lives with all of us. 🤩 #salute🏆
I am so sorry. I wrote the comment about giving some love to your cat Squirrell. I watched more videos of the two of you and saw that Squirrell and the boys get lots of love. You take excellent care of your animals. Thank you
I can't wait until tomorrow morning. It is just so far away. I'm addicted to your podcasts. And I love the premiere function. See you in 13 hours... hugs and love
I didn't know that Todd used to knit. I am a crocheter, and the first project I made was a washcloth and then a scarf. These podcasts are amazing and having been part of this channel since around the time you started your trip in the RV has been a wonderful journey and can't wait to see what comes next.
This was a great podcast! It really complements your Tyler & Todd channel by giving us an insight into the behind the scenes ups & downs of building your off grid home. Love your honesty & humour…. That was some TeaTime 😅 What a great way to end your podcast. ☕️😉 I am really looking forward to next week’s episode, and your Sunday video with Tyler and Todd! Take care & have a great week. 💕
I loved this conversation😊. Made me reflect upon what I want the rest of my life to be like. I turn 50 next year. My values have changed a lot the past two years mainly due to a chronic illness. Ever since university my identity has been connected to work! An extreme achiever pattern that no longer serves me.
That was me, fifteen years in a government job and I can’t leave now! The problem was my stress level was thru the roof and an emergency quad bypass was right around the corner. Spent all of my IRA paying off my house and now I’m disabled and living in a very depressed house with my equally depressed husband. We lost our granddaughter to a drug overdose and my best friend puppy passed last December……I’m fng determined to get us both out of this sad sad hole. I know this sounds horrible but I’m determined to be happy again….❤️💫❤️
This is so fun. Again, thank you thank you so much. Great episode. Both of you feel so much like you are my friends. While not real, it feels real to me. But perhaps that is because I don't really have any in my life currently. So watching your videos makes me feel a little less alone. Thank you!
About freedom, I have found over my life that freedom comes in increments, and it’s not always something that you make happen or you notice it’s happened to you until much later. To start out looking for freedom is a good thing. To forget during life journeys about freedom, but still working for it is the best way to achieve any goal. Because reflection and a new realization of a new goal met is just wonderful. 😉
Guys, I LOVE Tangents, you’re on something here. And yes, the lockdown has blank spaces in my memory too. Like it was a dream I can only recall segments of.
Oh my poor forest pioneers! you have such a lot to contend with, I never realised. Im in awe, and dont forget its the struggles and knocks in life that puts the polish on the diamonds! my diamond geezers. xx
Accompany and support you on this wonderful journey has been a dream for me as well from which I no longer want to wake up. The first episode has been a whirlwind of emotions, I felt your love for each other 💗 Many Happy Birthday wishes Todd 😘
Love it, don't stop guys. There was a song from the early 70's called ' One monkey don't stop no show ' So i am a tad warped, I am 75 years old and an Aussie! lmao
Having watched all your videos in order, I still remember that made dash from Florida to Canada. I was watching that "after" the end of all the lockdowns, but it brought it all back. Thank you for sharing!
TOTALLY AGREE with Todd ... 2020 & 2021 were an absolute BLUR!! Live in the moment & give thanks consciously every day ... the world is very very different now & not in a good way😢

Two of my nieces also work with special needs children, one as a social worker, the other as a teacher in a Waldorf school (a school founded by Rudolf Steiner with a very different education approach).
Hello from Buffalo!
So glad we’re not the only ones that feel that way (well, I wish we were but it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in that feeling) 😅
"but it was someone else's checklist"
That hits me hard. I've been struggling to put into words this same feeling.
Would love to hear about shipping container regulation problems! Great show ❤!!
You've got it!!
How exciting to think of having children living there… with dogs, kitty, in beautiful nature!
This is definitely my new favorite show!
Greetings from Brasil (or Brazil, but definitely Brasil)
So happy to hear that!!! ❤
Awww it's my little "hump day" podcast coming tomorrow! Love you guys so much! Looking forward to what ever you want to talk about - it matters not!
I relate to your stories. I'm now retired, divorced, a former nurse that lived through COVID. I am dealing with PTSD by knitting.
Is it weird that I am already counting down the days for your next podcast?? You’re my extra reminder that the week is half done!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not weird at all, we count the days too!
My husband and I had some of our best times during COVID. Lunch together every day, great long walks, and we got to be home every day all day with our aging Border Collie during his final months. Beautiful time.
As others have commented - your podcast style is great. Watch your Sunday vids and now a podcast ? I am in heaven
15:57 THIS!! As a 28 year old I definitely been thinking about my decisions and trying to live in the present that I’m on my journey for a reason.
Don’t walk into the deep end, DIVE in and create the future you’ve always wanted. You deserve it xo
"book smart and street stupid" had me in shambles 😂
This is clearly going to be one of my favorite listens each week! So interesting and yes, would love more details about the build at some point. Tea time was hilarious!
So, so happy to hear this!!!
Ohh yay, I was just thinking tomorrow is Wednesday new podcast episode. I can't wait for another new episode. I am absolutely obsessed ❤❤
We can't wait either!!!
What a beautiful truth you have created ❤ for all Canadians
Good morning Lynne! So glad you're enjoying these videos!
I have a morbid fascination with sundial mottos… they almost all talk to the point of how time is finite and fleeting. Two of my favorites: Every hours wounds, the last one kills. And: It is later than you think.
I loved when you talk about feeling like your were living someone else’s checklist..that is how I feel everyday..really hit home for me..thank you
Old coot, soon to be 73, doesn’t miss an opportunity to watch your videos! Same goes with Van Wives! Keep them coming!
Happy Wednesday Tyler and Todd, another great podcast. I could listen to both of you all day.
Don’t call your “tent” a house. It’s your home. Cherish it, no matter what shape it is. Love you two….❤️
Pet that kitty! So glad you guys started a podcast (and have insanely cute animals)!
The dome is awesome and in winter, a reverse snow globe!!! I can't imagine how gorgeous it is in real life every day of the year, but to be able to sit warm and toasty while watching the snow through that huge window must be surreal!❤🐾🐱🐾❤️
Your not living alone...you are together...your relationship is wonderful...love you guys and wish I had chosen similar directions...
It’s definitely been a challenging journey but in the end you both are going to be so happy and a bit less stressed in the next phase of of your beautiful lives together.💕
Once again I was so incredibly moved by the deep and sincere rawness of this episode....I so looked forward to viewing it. Keep up the good work boys.
Can't wait for Episode 2! Loved the first one. You guys are amazing. Thanks for all the beautiful content! 🥰
Thanks so much Chris ❤️
I started watching you UA-cam channel when you started to travel. I thought you were both just so fun, and your dogs were just so darn happy to be with you on the road full time. And then the panic of Covid and your rush back to Canada before they closed the borders. I loved watching how you have transformed the land. You have done an amazing job living off grid.
I am loving these episodes! And I cant wait for more tea time with Tyler and Todd!
Tea with T and T!!!
@@carolsloan7269 yes!! 😂❤️
yes, golden handcuffs exist everywhere--btw, Milwaukee is in Wisconsin--I al most died from golden handcuffs--you guys are so lucky to have found out about yourselves at such an early age--I started actually living my authentic life at 53--I'm now 77 and grateful it happened but sorry I didn't find it earlier. You 2 are a huge inspiration
Hi you two, it’s so nice to have more time with our friends Taylor and Todd, and hope to see those furry babies now and again. ❤🎉🎉🎉🏳️🌈🙏
I appreciate how candid and honest you both are. I know your parents are so proud of how smart and practical you guys are 💙
Really enjoying your Tangents with Tyler & Todd, with Squirrel running around in the background. How are Charlie & Eddie doing?
Thanks so much Bob, she was pretty active this episode, wasn't she??
The sacrifices you two have made will be so worth it in the end. One of the first things I noticed about you is how hardworking you two are. You're such an inspiration to anyone who's even remotely thinking about living off grid. T&T have set the standard, and I absolutely LOVE you guys for it. This podcast is fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experiences, ideas, and lives with all of us. 🤩 #salute🏆
Oh man! I so wish I could give you guys more than one like for your videos. LOL Keep them coming. You guys are great!
That support is MORE than enough!! By engaging in the video it allows more people to see it so we so appreciate you doing that!!
You are one of the first people that have talked about COVID being a blank. Appreciate your insights
Ugh I’m late!! But I caught the premier! 🎉❤️ My youngest son is out on his drivers test! Perfect way to spend this time! Love you guys! 🥰
Tell him we said good luck!!
@@tangentswithtylerandtodd he said THANK YOU!! HE PASSED! 🎉 Y’all are the best! 🥰
Means the world, see you soon xoxo
I love you guys! Your combined skills and sense of humor are truly admirable. You two are so inspiring!
Thanks so much Cathy, really means a lot!
You guys are so nice to listen to. The love just flows around you two ! ❤❤
I’ve been dying for y’all to make a podcast and hear y’all talk because of the way y’all talk in your videos I knew y’all had so much more to say
Good to hear more of your story.
Guys, I LOVE Tangents, you’re on something here. And yes, the lockdown has blank spaces in my memory too. Like it was a dream I can only recall segments of.
Good pod cast love the way u guys interact with each other keeping it real. God bless u and urs.
There was a song from the early 70's called ' One monkey don't stop no show '
So i am a tad warped, I am 75 years old and an Aussie! lmao
Can’t wait for episode 2, I wanna cry happy tears this week please, sending love & hugs as always T,T,C,E & L ❤❤❤
Having watched all your videos in order, I still remember that made dash from Florida to Canada. I was watching that "after" the end of all the lockdowns, but it brought it all back. Thank you for sharing!
Hi guys was that really an hour wow how quick it went. You two are just the best. Love this P/C too Love T Time. Have a great week
TOTALLY AGREE with Todd ... 2020 & 2021 were an absolute BLUR!! Live in the moment & give thanks consciously every day ... the world is very very different now & not in a good way😢
Glad we're not the only ones who felt that way!!
