We seriously cannot BELIEVE we just spent the last few days chipping ICE out of the lake so we could access our waterlines...you seriously cannot make this up! 🤣 As frustrating and unbelievable as it was, it felt incredibly empowering that we were not only able to troubleshoot the issue, but we we tackled it as a family! This week, we sort of bounced around and talked about a whole bunch of different stuff, can't wait to chat with you all in the comments and hear that you think of this episode!
It's a practical way of getting ice for your drinks... At least you will not want for ice in the winter. Perhaps you could use some of the ice to make ice sculptures?🍧🧊 Here's waiting for the tea!🍵🧋💖 cheers! / CS
“Too Gay? Not gay enough?” What in the actually f***?! Seriously straight/gay people y’all got issues if that’s the kind of questions you are having. I’m with Todd. Someone is about to get cussed out for an issue that a company has caused. Why folks are complaining about content because it’s not what they want? Those folks need to take several seat. They have actually have an option.
I watch y’all’s videos and podcast. I may not comment at times but y’all know life happens. Funny thing is after watching your videos for sometime now, I catch myself saying “Oh. Im a Todd.” I entertainment from your content no matter what y’all do. If I didn’t I’d scoot. No need for me to explain why in comments.
I’m going to make comments for the butt hurt folks. I can’t seem to get past the “gay/too gay”. I got a question. Is their a quota or a ratio of gay wet are suppose to be? I been gay a long ass time and I’ve read the handbook. Ain’t s*** in there about it.
If you guys havent figured it out yet, there are a HUGE amount of us that love you just for YOU! Live where and how you want. We are here for you both, the fur babies and the adventures. The haters can F all the way off!
Last episode T & T spoke about haters who are not impressed now that they are no longer working their asses off on the land. Honestly I am more invested in this new content as I find it more relatable. I wish them nothing but luck and look forward to this new chapter in their lives and feel lucky to be able to witness it.
Look on the bright side. If You both were still working regular jobs... I would compare the haters to people you have to work with day after day after day. At least being online you can ignore them and still be fine. I am sure with so many subscribers the haters are a very small portion of your audience.
I started following your UA-cam channel because I thought the idea of living off grid is really cool. I continued watching because I really enjoyed watching the two of you, regardless of what you are doing. The podcast allows your viewers to learn more about the two of you. The two of you are what makes both your UA-cam and podcasts worth watching. Keep doing what makes the two of you happy and don’t worry about the haters. BTW, We live in Maine and feel your pain with frozen water lines and backed up septic systems. Been there, done that.
If people don't like how things have changed they don't have to follow their account anymore. I'm interested in seeing where this journey is going to take them.
YES! I said something similar on Instagram...We are here for Ty and Todd NOT their "business sense' A band I dearly LOVE just had an episode of doxxing and really scary stuff from a 'fan' who got things twisted in their parasocial relationship. People have had the audacity to be ANGRY at the guys for making the moves they have and I find it absolutely disgusting how ppl will talk to another human online coming from some false sense of entitlement to be able to tell someone what to do. Anyhow, I am excited for the up coming plans!
Exactly. @tylerandtodd, it’s not just that it took you 5 days to build the shower (and I recently rewatched the filter episode), it’s that it’s you two doing it! You and Charlie and Eddie and Squirrel. Just being with you all doing whatever it is you are doing or going through…we all share it. And ❤ you for sharing it with all of us!
You two are pure gold. When life sends you a curve ball - and life sends you many - you sort it out and move on. As a fellow Canadian who has no desire to live off grid because of our winters and because I just couldn’t do it, I just want you two to thrive and be happy. You will NEVER read a negative comment from me. You always make me smile and often laugh because you are so much fun and have beautiful personalities.
Here's my tangent: I started watching a channel called "Foxes Afloat" because they were living and traveling the canals of the UK. They've moved on to living on a croft in the Scottish highlands. Like you both - Tyler ❤, Todd ❤ - I came for the adventures, but I stayed because of the beautiful humans I DISCOVERED. ❤ I appreciate you choosing to share your life journey with us all. I personally feel joy in joining you along the way. Thank-you ❤💚❤
I started watching them (Foxes Afloat ) from day one! And LOVED all the knowledge and history I learned from them! They are also the cutest sweet guys. And talking about depression on top of all of that takes guts to put out there in the universe! I just KNOW that they have helped many people who also struggle with the same issues. I loved watching their new boat being built , it was so cool to watch them have it put in the water. ( although I was a nervous mess, like sit on the edge of my seat! ) And now, we are STILL learning, along with them, about their new surroundings and the history. AND the grass fire made my eyes leak heavily. But they were blessed to making it through. I also love the honey bees. ANYWAY…..so sorry for the novel. My point is don’t judge! I enjoy both channels ! As an American , wayyyyy down south, they are a breath of fresh air to me with all that is going on in the world. They all 4 take my mind to “Far Away Lands” and I love it all! ❤
I don’t understand how anyone can leave negative or hateful comments on any of y’alls videos! Y’all are so authentic and never seem to be anything other than who y’all really are! Ignore the negativity! Because you provide happiness & joy to the majority of your viewers! 😊❤️
Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt' just let her go i did all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counsellor who helped me bring her back
I wasn't attracted to your channel because I wanted to learn how to live off grid or build a container home. You both are fascinating and no matter what you do, I'm there. Whatever adventure you're on is so entertaining.
I honestly think we should start calling these podcasts “Tangents with Tyler, Todd, and Charlie” lol I love how he is always right between the two of you, gentlemen just sleeping through the conversations.
T&T...even if you're no longer on youtube in 10 years, please make no mistake...those of us watching you now, and all along, ARE GIOING TO REMEMBER YOU, FONDLY, WITH TRUE APPRECIATION. Please believe me, I am one of those who WILL continue to" know who you are" and I'll also be continuing to send you my best hopes wishes. I believe there are MANY who will be too!
They watch so they can make negative comments because they have miserable lives and they express it by hating on others rather than working on changing their own lives. So sad. They need psychological help.
I am so proud of you two, I love that you take care of you. You both are grounded, ethical, thoughtful, and kind. Even having never met you, I deeply admire you both and are very proud of you and your choices. Plus I adore your humor. I care far more for the two of you than progress or lack there of with projects. Guys, life is a project that is ever evolving. Please just keep being you. It’s good to see you can roll with the punches.
Dear Tyler and Todd, thank you for inviting us into your “blanket fort”! The intimacy, honesty and harmony between you two even when you were struggling has been such a gift. You are the show not the land! For me it’s about the way you navigate life and love your family. Don’t let anyone bring you down! You lift us so much by sharing. We are blessed by your willingness to share. I wish I could give you a negative comment filter so you could just read the positive things. I live in a high altitude mountain pass with a wood stove as my primary heat. It is a private road and shoveling is required to maintain access to my house. Winter is no joke and you guys have been on a wild journey. Be proud of where you have been and where you are going. Blessings for letting us come along with you wherever you may go! Hugs and love as you struggle. Love to the fur babies and ongoing blessings for healing to Charlie.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I grew up in a home where if you don't have anything nice to say then you don't say it. Stay true to yourselves and like you just said " life is to short". I love your video's and "Tangents".
I want you guys to know that you are loved. Ignore the idiots who bash you or say anything negative! You have your own reasons for doing what you do... it's your life, and I feel blessed to be a viewer that gets to spend time watching you. You're both so amazing. I just love you. You're so positive and upbeat. I love the comment about letting Squirrel be the queen of the house. That is hilarious. I have a cat named Bitsy Boo as well, and I just love her. I can see that you love yours. Your dogs are so beautiful. I love watching youtube videos when people really show how much they love their animals... like the care you showed when your pup had to have surgery, and then you lovingly helped your dog walk for so long. That to me is wonderful. When you said that you are best friends as well as a married couple; that reminded me of my partner Jeanie who passed away in 2006. We were like that. She was my best friend as well as my partner. We spent all of our time together just like you guys, and I wouldn't have had it happen any other way. Now she's gone, and I miss her so much... It gives me comfort to watch you guys. It makes me happy. So thank you for making your lives so public. I know that there are times when it is difficult, so I appreciate what you do. Forget the neigh-sayers. Both of you are amazing, and when I watch a video of yours; I feel like I am having a visit with you. ...like you could be my son or grandson. I find myself wishing I could make you some cookies, or some pie... or something. lol.... By the way I am in Mississauga Ontario and it is freezing here right now. I am in a wheelchair and don't go out very often in the winter. Take care. Love ya all. Jojo from Mississauga Ontario
What a beautiful message Jojo. I agree entirely with how strong, admiral and resilient these two gorgeous men are! I too would love to just hug them and tell them how much I respect them. Their truth, honesty and integrity is an example to everyone. ❤❤❤
Thank you for being willing to mention that you've been struggling to find your identity after moving out of the dome. You are beautiful people. And when you are willing to share your struggles and to be vulnerable, you show us how to do the same. This channel may be about building an offgrid home, but really you are building resilience and kindness and love along the way. You help so many of us to feel our humanity, to look honestly in the mirror and not feel shame, to accept and meet the less bright moments with courage and patience. Together you're making the world a safer, more beautiful place for all of us. ❤Lee
Todd, you said, "... in 10 years, no one is going to know who Tyler and Todd are..." and added "...you can only watch people babble on a couch for so long." You and Tyler are far more precious than those statements indicate. Something you (possible) fail to realize is truly how strong and impactful your simple, candid observations are. You two operate in a world that, while at a distance, allows us to relate to you--understanding what you are experiencing, your joys, your disappointments. In a world where Social Media is meant to bring us closer together, your channels (both Tangents and your original channel) actually accomplish that. In line with many of your assessments about Social Media and content creators, much of Social Media is driving us further apart. By giving us a real, non-crafted glimpse into parts of your life creates the community you see below. THAT is what the power of Social Media was meant to be, and Bravo! to you two for finding your place in this odd world. Thank you for sharing the portions of your lives you are willing to share, and trust that we will not let you go quietly into that good night. HUGS!
A grandmother here - I love how genuine you both are. Glad you have the cabin to reset and relax. Sorry about the water pipes. Two of the homes we lived in had a similar water freezing problem, and we had to run a tiny stream of water at night to keep the water from freezing. It was our only option at the time. Sad it had to happen to you. Wishing you peace this year and that all good things may come your way. Blessings to you.
What strikes me the most about this episode is how much the two of you have learned in the last 5+ years. You've learned about RV living, geodesic dome life, electrical, plumbing, solar, gardening, building your own shipping container home and all that goes into that (both good and challenging) and now the lake life. We see that it can get overwhelming for you but you always come out on top and laugh together all the way! Great job!
I cackled like a hyena when you said "Save your curated b@#$ for instagram* You have officially won best comment for 2024 🙌🏾👏🏾🙏🏾💗 You and Todd are grounded, self aware, hilarious and lovely people. btw people sometimes offer misery when they see "light, love and kindness" . Even if you understand why, it can be so disappointing. The good news is that most people are kind and welcome your vibe.
Sometimes dreams just don't turn out the way we 'dreamt' they would ! I admire you both for taking that dream in a different direction. Many of us have had to do that in our own lives- we just don't have as many people 'watching' us and 'judging' us ! I enjoyed watching everything you did on the land, I enjoy watching you in the cabin and I enjoy your podcasts! Continue to be you....that's what brings me back again and again....
Hi Guys, Please remember that there are countless people out here who enjoy & appreciate whatever you choose to share. It seems a little crazy to me - since I've never shared a physical space with you - but I actually feel a genuine affection for both of you. Ignore the negative comments. They don't need to affect your peace of mind. "Grandma" LTB, age 79
Don't change a thing, I'm 60 my husband is 51 and we totally enjoy your videos. At times I'm just so jealous as I'm in the sundown phase of life and your just starting the climb. Again you two are wonderful.
People who are complaining about the switch also need to realize your original dream for the land was to build a cabin. Because of Covid, the supply chain issues and skyrocketing prices of material you changed gears and came up with another plan, container home. Now you have the best of both worlds because you found a cabin you love, and you still have the land and everything that goes with that, the good and the bad. This is a win, not a fail in any sense of the word! I don’t see why people don’t get that.
A couple of months before I retired a stranger gave me the best advice: take six months to relax and say “no” to everything. It takes time to adjust to not having things that have to be done at a certain time. It also takes awhile to fill those slots with what is enjoyable. As Tyler said, “every day is an adventure.” You two are so mentally healthy, balance each other so well, it’s a joy to listen to you on the podcast or watch the videos. My only problem with the podcasts being from the cabin…Squirrel doesn’t explore around in the background, or walk across the couch back. Love the tangent on the curated videos! Agree completely.
One of the main reasons that became I subscriber was you are who you are. Your reactions to your day to day life is why I stay. Fixing problems and mistakes are the best way to learn and have it stick. Thanks for sharing ❤❤
You guys owe nothing to anyone. At the end of the day, whatever makes you both happy, that’s what you do! Those who have a problem with that have no choice but to get over it! There’s a song that says sweep around your own front door before you try to sweep around mine! Keep doing what you guys are doing on both channels! You’re doing great!!
Let me say that yall do not owe any of us, your audience/supporters, explanation as to why the off-grid property is not complete as of yet. I can only imagine the work it has and will take for the completion of your vision for that project. We thank you for letting us in but please do not feel the pressure of having to rationalize the needed pause. Y’all are great and I truly appreciate the hard work you exemplify every week and the entertainment you provide to remind us all not to take life too seriously. 😊
I live in a condo and now you guys are living in a cabin. For the number of times the power and the plumbing has gone out, I feel like I'm living off grid. Welcome to my world, LOL!
I found you guys because of the “off the grid” content, which is so completely unlike my current lifestyle or any lifestyle I would choose for myself that I don’t understand my fascination with it! 🤷♀️. Anyway, the point I intended to make was that, despite how I first started watching your channel, at this point I just love you guys so much I would probably watch your channel even if you moved to a big city! Live your lives however YOU choose and viewers can make their own choice on whether to watch or not. I’ll be there!!
the container home is your dream ,but your minds and body need a break from the stress of everything involved in that build .I love your new home and I see that you two are more relaxed and distressed. I love my earthbreeze sheets
Tyler and Todd you two are my favorite people. 😍 The haters should never watch your programs. My husband and I spent 42 years together. I was lost, then fell and now that I am by myself completely I am not lonely and still think of him everyday. I think your programs are just great. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I don’t know what I’d do without Tyler and Todd in my living room. Good thing I’m 66 and will die before you stop doing UA-cam…. Love you both all the way from California 🇺🇸
Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should. What you have accomplished is amazing. Especially being novices in so many things, power, electricity, water, plumbing, building, landscaping, etc. All in three years. Great job. Rest and enjoy as you budget your time and effort judiciously to the highest and best use and return on your investment. Still just in love with how precious Eddie is snuggling on the couch as soon as you start your podcast.
You really don’t need to explain getting exhausted by the build. Live comfortably in your beautiful new house and have the other property as a day job. I really enjoy both your channels. You both warm the hart of this old lady ❤from a very cold and snow covered Sweden
I enjoy your "conversations"! You do come across as honest and REAL! As one who has spent his professional life with people, I recognize the authenticity of your "chats"! I do look forward to your posts.
I can't express enough how REFRESHING it is to sit down with my cup of tea every Wednesday and just listen to the two of you talk about your week. I can appreciate how vulnerable it is to share the good, the bad, and the ugly, of your day-to-day (week-to-week/season-to-season) with all of us, and so I want to just say THANK YOU for keeping it real! I wish we were neighbours -- I'd definitely let you come and shit in my toilet! Hang in there -- you got this! 🤪🤪🤪
When you found out Charlie needed surgery, I thought you made a logical and smart decision to buy a cabin. You prioritized Charlie's care. Anyone second guessing your decisions is not in your shoes. If viewers cannot support or understand you, they should not be judging you. Builds ALWAYS have set backs and delays. I find it inspirational to see all you accomplish. Shake off the negative comments from those who really don't know what they are talking about. You should ALWAYS be proud of your accomplishments. It's okay to melt down. It's okay to take breaks.
You two are the best! And I hope you guys truly realize that you are YOU and no explanations to anyone! You do YOU!!! It’s a great thing that you try to fix things yourself, cause as you find out there are some contractors or handymen that can rip you off(and before anyone gets their panties in a bunch) not all of them are bad!! For both of you to do what you did for three years was sooo amazing! There were times I would pray for you both! I’m glad you stepped away for a while to just clear your heads! I know what it’s like living in freezing weather and when pipes freeze or burst!! Keep up doing what whatever makes YOU HAPPY!! Thank you for both of your UA-cam channels! 😊
I can honestly say I don't care where y'all are the land or lake house or rv I'm just here for y'all and the dogs because I just simply love your personalities y'all are hilarious. I don't understand why everyone is so mad about you not being on the land anymore, your technically still on land and can still do alot of those old projects on this land. Folks act like they don't move and start over it's not that serious to be this mad over too human beings just trying to live and make their lives stress-free
I am constantly amazed by your humor, wisdom, and ability to thrive in any environment. Who knew tangents could be so entartaining and educational. I LOVE YOU, GUYS❤❤❤❤❤
24/7 365 at the land was stressful. Not just living there but developing and intense labor building there! Years with an out house! You have ptsd post traumatic STRESS disorder. The emotions that rise when the lights are left on or the frozen pipe "melt down" It will get better over time ♡ the dome should be 3 seasons and the container home 4 seasons... You kids look so good♡ Your eyes look great♡ Rest hibernate and recover♡ You are wonderful just how you are! Thank you for taking us on your journey❤
I adore you both so much. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a single mama who works from home and homeschools my 8 year old (I have a new handle). The two of you provide so much goodness and magic to my life. Keep on being yourselves - we’re all so blessed by the “portrait” you share with us. Sending my heart to you ❤❤
I absolutely agree with Tylor in as “if I never see a snowflake again, I will be so happy”. That is why my husband and I moved to Mexico last May. We don’t ever plan to move back to Canada. We love it here in Mexico. Best decision we ever made!! Good luck with your homestead you two. You’ll work it out one way or another. Thank you for your videos. We really enjoy them. 😊❤️
I think you should be exactly who you are and just be happy with yourself. I think you both are pretty sincere considering that thousands of people are judging you. As long as people are watching you and decide to be judgmental then they can decide to not watch, but they still watch!!! Keep on doing what you’re doing, it working!
My favourite problem solvers, positive energy spreaders, laughter inducers, and tangent builders. Sorry you’ve had such a crazy day guys. You continue to share such a healthy perspective, always learning from what happens. Tyler and Todd 4EVR ❤. Love all the content here and the videos too. I hope the water gets sorted. Don’t overthink the negative comments, they remind me of earwigs in the garden. They are under every rock, just drop the rock back where it was and look up…. The flowers are still thriving.
I’m in VT so totally get the cold! In a past house had septic freeze and backup INTO the cellar on Christmas 🤢 And one summer having to bath in a pond for a month while still working full time as a nurse. These things can push you right to the edge! Hang in there, you both are so resilient and I love your stories. You are awesome just the way you are and whatever way you need to do things is perfect for you. Screw the haters. You two make me laugh so much! I hope this break from the land project refreshes you and you can get back to your dream. I think knowing you always have your lake home will bring a new perspective when you are working there. I hope everything works out for you both! I am so here for your tangents😂 Wishing you all the best❤️
Screw the haters! Your authenticity comes through 100%. Just keep being yourselves and we will support you. Superfan of both your channels. And this is coming from a 59 year old straight white chick who adores you both.
No joke you guys. I’ll be 58 next month. I live in Chicago and painted faces at every pride parade since the early 90’s. My mind was stuck in stereotypes. You both blew ;) that out of the water! I had to check myself. You both accomplished so much I was shocked and that’s on me for thinking 2 gays boys doing what!?! Where!?! No way! I’m with your mom! Just incredible. Not just living there but YOU GUYS BUILT THAT SHIT! Crazy!
Anyone that doesn’t live in the north and deal with winter really should come up when it’s -20 with windchills of -50 !!! They might quickly change their negative attitudes and be impressed with the two of you. These past few days in Minnesota- my dogs wouldn’t even go out. Finally it’s 5 degrees out and sunny and we thought it was a heat wave. Love watching you in my heated house with a warm blanket on and a cup of hot coffee☕️
Guys this is your life and shouldn’t apologize or feel like you’re letting people down. You get to decide what you want to do next. I personally could not do what you have been doing but it was interesting to watch. Soooo much work. I love that you are taking a break from the land. Enjoy your house and I hope you get all your plumbing problems resolved.
Hey boys, good for you two for being level headed. People who post negative comments are transferring their insecurities onto anyone who will listen. Don’t give that a second thought. It’s a good thing you are both taking good care of your mental health and are self-aware. Keep being who you are because it’s what has gotten you where you are. Enjoy all your adventures and remember life happens when you are making other plans.
Why do these people think they have a right to be cruel and critical! Don’t like it turn it off. Check your own life. Tyler and Todd keep doing your life the best way you want to live it.
Keep tanget’ng, your conversation is pure gold. So necessary in an era of negativity. We can win over the negative speak with simply increasing our expectations of positivity.
I so enjoyed this podcast!! I laughed, I gasped, I got angry for you, I just wanted to pat your backs and say, “Never mind those naysayers, you are doing just fine!” I think the experience on the land has made you both much more resilient than all those silly people ever will be!! I just love you both! We live in rural northern Ontario. We live in a 100 year old farm house that was my great grandfather’s. That being said, there is constant maintenance. 5 years ago our water line froze in February and the only thing we could do is wait for it to thaw(beginning of May) let me tell you, it was inconvenient … but there was lots of snow outside to melt and then we would fill up totes with water. Our friends from town would say we were crazy and not sure how we could do it. My answer was always… I’d rather it be the water line, than not having electricity or heat, imagine that!! You get used to the things you just have to do on a farm. Keep up the awesome work you two, but do take time for yourselves ❤
IMO, all that matters is all that you have done so far, and that is absolutely amazing. You should be so proud of yourselves because your community is. Thank you for taking us with you. Love, boys ❤
I think people forget you are real people who have real lives. It seems that you are able to look past those people. I love watching you both and support all that you do.
I very simply love your episodes because you are so real, transparent and entertaining. The majority of time you bring a smile (sometimes tears as well) to my face, even through the challenges. I am a diehard you tube subscriber, but glad you have started this Tangents - which gives much more background on your true life. ❤ I appreciate your honesty and the legacy you guys are leaving on your channels is fantastic.
I loved this whole tangent episode! You two are such positive role models!!!! I spent 25 years in the US Amy, about 6 years deployed. This video reminded me of my last 15 month deployment. I found silver lining every day while deployed, and most certainly experience silver linings everyday since. I’m not in a 120 degree Fahrenheit desert, wearing 60 lbs of gear, and I, (mostly) sleeping at home in my own bed. So much to be thankful for every day. Thanks for this reminder.
I am 78 so i have learned some things. The best ever thing I learned is people project their feelings and beliefs on others. It has nothing to do with you guys but is all about them and you figured it out. Congratulations! Great job!!!!!! Always set emotional boundaries to protect yourselves. You are the most important! Keep going love you guys. One reason as a single woman I rented for years was I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance! Someone gave me a home when I came back to my hometown. It was next to my Mom so I could care for her. So now I have maintenance but I sold my Mom’s home to a great guy who renovates homes and resells. He has all the skills so he helps maintain my home for me at no charge. You guys are amazing!
I love watching the two of you on both podcasts. You both are down to earth and you are who you are! I have watched you for several years because you are real...you are not fake, not trying to prove anything to anyone. I enjoy watching you conqueror the disasters and celebrate the victories. You inspire many of us to just take life as it comes and all you can do is enjoy, and make the best of it. I look forward to watching you make a home out of both of your properties. I do miss seeing you at the land, however I have enjoyed what you are doing with this new home. Keep smiling. It is about the journey, not the destination.
I’m lost in admiration at how you guys cope with the winter conditions there! We are a bunch of wimps here in the UK - everybody is freaked out at the moment with temperatures in the low minuses and, with the exception of Scotland and northern England, a light smattering of snow! Keep warm guys and hibernate if you feel like it - tell those off-grid purists to do one - you have paid your “roughing it” dues. Love from England!💕💕
My luvs, give yourselves grace. You deserve it. I understand being on "go" for years.. working full time, raising 3 boys, dog, never took vacations so I could cash out vacation time for Christmas. And your " purpose" is to simply love each other & be kind as you both truly are. Luv ya y'all...old og in philly.
I grew up in Northern Ontario and live in Florida now. I agree with you that people think that Canada in the winter is like a Hallmark movie. The reality is so different especially if you live out in the bush. People are the same coming to Florida in the winter expecting 90F plus sunny weather in the winter and get mad that we have weather in the 20's, 30's and 40's (depending where you are in the state). Boys, please don't let the haters get you down. You are amazing and stronger then you'll ever know. Sending warmth and love from Florida.
Why not enjoy the contrast? If everyone was so sweet, it could make us sick. A good sweet has some sour in it (and sour taste better with a little sweet in it).@@fern8003
As a huge fan of your main channel, I just want you both to know how much I appreciate the vulnerability and feelings you share here on the podcast channel.
This comment to bring positive vibes I absolutely love you both and the fur babies obsessed with both your channels what I think is people who are leaving bad or negative comment no one is telling them they have to watch so just don't watch. They always told us that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. We absolutely love the T&T guys and the community ❤❤❤
What you are describing is resilience and flexibility. You have learned so many skills and are able to survive so many challenges. We all need to grow and you are modeling that.
I come from a very cold country, and THAT'S why I never could understand how on Earth could you live the way you did. I thought that probably men handle cold differently or that you are just generally very strong physically and mentally. (which is obviously true, even if you do not feel like this). And now that you have told this out loud - OMG, guys! I am so happy that you have more comfort here!
I've followed you guys for over a year. I'm glad you're not freezing in the dome this winter. You're not quitters for taking care of yourselves and your animals. Hang in there, I hope you get water soon!
Totally understand the grind that living on the land is - as much as you love it. That’s a huge mental load!! Hope you resolve the water supply issues soon. So happy to see you all comfy and having time to relax in the cabin. Super wise to recognise you both needed a big ole break 🧡
20:00 - And if you wanted to give up, that is ok too. It's your life, your journey, your decisions! We are just along for the ride. You two are fabulous humans, so blessed to be able to follow you - where ever you end up!
Wonderful Tangent! Seriously- the best thing about your videos is that you guys strike the perfect balance between humility and selfless confidence. Unfortunately in the US right now I feel I am surrounded by a shitload of the Confidence lacking the selflessness and barren wasteland of Humility. Thank you for your genuineness and mirth. ❤😊
I get what you're saying. I lived in the States for 13 years... Virginia. I know exactly what you mean. I keep up with the news and listen to it every day and am saddened and angry by what I hear as well. We in Canada pray for our brothers & sisters in the states that things will settle down and there won't be a mad rush from the states to Canada if the inevitable happens, hopefully all will be well.
@@Jojo1957 Thank you! I appreciate your comment. As an American, I am so sad about where our country is right now. We are so divided.☹️ I am still so sad about what is happening to a woman’s right to chose!
It doesn’t matter what viewers think!!! They don’t get to have an opinion about how you live and when your dream changes. You two are amazing and I love following you on your journey ❤ screw what others think!!!!
You both are great teachers, not only of the challenges from taking up an off grid life style, but sharing the mental and emotional pressure that comes with learning as you go. You both are wise beyond your years, in taking an honest inventory of what you needed to do to get through the winter and get ready for the next stages of problem solving that are before you in completing the container house, besides discovering the quirks of the cabin. So glad that both your families are supportive, and sorry for the bs sent your way by immature rude nay sayers. Cheers to you both and sending wishes of smooth sailing in the months ahead..❤❤❤❤
I have concluded there are accounts that strictly bash posts to sit back and watch the reactions. I don't think they believe/feel what they post, they just come up with something, let it rip, and move on to bash someone else on another post. It is simply a game to them, and the only way to stop them is for their posts to be met with complete silence.
Todd, I feel you. I'm in my 70s, I have ADD, and I get a bit jammed up when something I've planned doesn't play out. At this late date, I'm finally beginning to invest less emotionally in an outcome, pivot, and get enthused about a new option. I feel so glad that this letting go is possible. Oh, and about the Tea ... we need more flirting without the obligation to follow through. That's one thing the French get right -- the pure joy and aliveness of flirtation, period. ❤
Love hearing your wild stories and sipping the spicy tea. ☕️
It's a practical way of getting ice for your drinks... At least you will not want for ice in the winter. Perhaps you could use some of the ice to make ice sculptures?🍧🧊
Here's waiting for the tea!🍵🧋💖
cheers! / CS
Appreciate you more than you know, Sheila!
@@tangentswithtylerandtodd awww you guys are the best!! This is why you have so many fans
BTW, this is NOT the off grid community, it’s the Tyler and Todd community. We’re there for YOU!
Exactly!
Ditto!
Absolutely
🥹 We so appreciate that Shelley, thank you!
Oh ya, I agree! It kind of irritates me that someone sends them negative comments. I'm from Canada too... Mississauga Ontario.
Same, they are such lovely ppl, I love their videos and I am so grateful for them.
From one Shelley to another, I TOTALLY AGREE! 🇦🇺Aussie here!
I appreciate you choosing to share your life journey with us all. I personally feel joy in joining you along the way.
Thank-you ❤💚❤
I jumped to their channel and started watching. Ever since watching Outlander I have been fascinated with Scotland...and men in kilts.
Really means the world to us, thanks Christi!
I dont understand how people can hate on haters, it just makes you one.
Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt' just let her go i did all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counsellor who helped me bring her back
Amazing, how did you get a spiritual counsellor, and how do i reach her?
Her name is *Shelly renee white* , and she is a great spiritual counsellor who can bring back your ex
Thank you for this valuable information, i just looked her up now online. impressive.
Im 67 years old and look so forward to ALL your videos.
I find myself laughing or crying.
me too, 67 and I so look forward to T&T
I wasn't attracted to your channel because I wanted to learn how to live off grid or build a container home. You both are fascinating and no matter what you do, I'm there. Whatever adventure you're on is so entertaining.
Means a lot, thank you!
I honestly think we should start calling these podcasts “Tangents with Tyler, Todd, and Charlie” lol
I love how he is always right between the two of you, gentlemen just sleeping through the conversations.
That's Eddie 😊
I think he is making it a safe space both for himself and for Tyler and Todd.🧔♂🦮🧔♂
1:02:45 Eddie's nose makes an appearance.
So true. I agree and feel the same way. 🥰
I can't understand why would people watch if they want to be so critical. I think you guys are great!
They watch so they can make negative comments because they have miserable lives and they express it by hating on others rather than working on changing their own lives. So sad. They need psychological help.
I agree! Making negative comments just shows how ridiculous the haters are that they will waste their time watching something they don't like.
I’m 80 years young I love e watching you all I’m in usa
@@patmaring1235 Welcome to the club.
Soo kind of you to say!! Thank you so much for following along Patricia ❤️
Couldn't agree more!
Simple as that, right!? Thanks so much 😊
I want you guys to know that you are loved.
❤Lee
Well said!
I agree 100%.
HUGS!
I love your weekly conversations, it’s like having coffee with friends.
We couldn't agree more, thanks for following along with us Debbie!
Hi Guys,
Please remember that there are countless people out here who enjoy & appreciate whatever you choose to share. It seems a little crazy to me - since I've never shared a physical space with you - but I actually feel a genuine affection for both of you. Ignore the negative comments. They don't need to affect your peace of mind.

LOL seriously tho!
Thanks for sharing ❤❤
and thank you for following along! ❤️
That really makes us happy to hear, thank you Phoebe! 😊
the container home is your dream ,but your minds and body need a break from the stress of everything involved in that build .I love your new home and I see that you two are more relaxed and distressed. I love my earthbreeze sheets
Tyler and Todd you two are my favorite people. 😍
The haters should never watch your programs.
My husband and I spent 42 years together. I was lost, then fell and now that I am by myself completely I am not lonely and still think of him everyday. I think your programs are just great. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Proud to type I ❤Tyler and Todd !!! A huge, big warm hug from Belgium to you and your loved ones 🤗🇧🇪
Aw thanks Kate!!
I don’t know what I’d do without Tyler and Todd in my living room. Good thing I’m 66 and will die before you stop doing UA-cam…. Love you both all the way from California 🇺🇸
I’m just realized that I’m getting excited every Wednesday for this podcast ❤ really loving this new adventure guys ! My good I laughed 😂
Sooo happy to hear you're enjoying them!!
I am with Tyler on the snow, if I never saw it again I would be very happy.
I enjoy your "conversations"! You do come across as honest and REAL! As one who has spent his professional life with people, I recognize the authenticity of your "chats"! I do look forward to your posts.
We appreciate that!
We love you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. DO NOT CHANGE. They are bitter, jealous people, just BLOCK THEM.Love you guys.❤❤
hahah thanks for making us a part of your Wednesday routine, means the world! 😊
Aw Becky, thank you so much, really means the world!!
Ignore the haters, savour the true followers/supporters here. You’re great guys with such personal insights and self awareness. Love your content!
You do your share of spreading good vibes 😊😊😊😊😊
We try! 🫶
The emotions that rise when the lights are left on or the frozen pipe "melt down"
It will get better over time ♡
the dome should be 3 seasons and the container home 4 seasons...
You kids look so good♡
Your eyes look great♡
Rest hibernate and recover♡
You are wonderful just how you are!
Sending my heart to you ❤❤
Thanks for following along with us, Lauren! Means a lot ❤️
I agree 100% ❤
Love that! 😊
Babble away boys, I could listen to you forever. However, I am 71 years old and who knows how long I'll be able to hear you.
I ❤Tyler and Todd & their dogs & Squirrel!!!
🐶🐶🐈⬛❤️
Me, too!
Thank you for joining us on our adventures! ❤️
I think people forget you are real people who have real lives. It seems that you are able to look past those people. I love watching you both and support all that you do.
I love the two of you, you make my heart sing, so real and genuine, keep living your truth, blossom and grow
Any person that does not see whow much you guys love each other and how you care for each other, F them💪
Don't listen to the haters.... They're not in your inner circle. You guys are great. I've been a fan from the RV days.
No matter who you are and what you do you will never please everyone.
You do you and let the haters move on.
Love you 2 guys and all your videos. ❤
Really means a lot to hear we can bring some smiles! Thanks Anne ❤️
What lovely people in your home town.
I love that y'all are so AUTHENTIC!! 😍😍❤
The right people will watch you, we love you guys and keep being who you are ❤
I’m lost in admiration at how you guys cope with the winter conditions there!
Luv ya
y'all...old og in philly.
I like that you also enjoy watching the Wednesday broadcast together with us. So cosy.
Love having our morning coffee and have a few laughs with you all!
I still don't understand why people have negative comments. Just don't look and listen anymore. You don't have too!!! It's quite simple.
Wise words! Thanks so much ❤️
What you are describing is resilience and flexibility.
I'll be there as usual. Got to have my Tyler and Todd fix! Stay positive!
Hey Connie!
I could listen to you two all day.. You are dreamers, planners When you have an idea " like Switzerland" your expressions are priceless.
I found you guys while researching domes, what a ride it's been the last couple of years. So glad you've added Tangents for that deeper dive.
Thanks June! So glad you're liking the podcast too 😊
You guys remain true to yourselves and tell the haters to "f" off. Love you both
You are such a breath of fresh air! Life IS what’s happening. Enjoy the ride❤
Couldn't agree with you more! Thank you ❤️
Todd, I feel you. ❤
