Bellular there is a note/book from the titan keepers saying that Galakrond was made mutated through water that wasn't filtered. It's called Progress Report: Uldorus. Keeper Tyr to Keeper Loken.
Azeroth has spent so many years being inundated by every type of power there is... She's going to wind up being influenced by ALL of them, rather than just one of them like each is hoping. We'll have a big amalgamation on our hands.
I have a feeling at the last titan we are going to bleed off all these forces trying to morph Azeroth. Just imagine what a giant evil light blob thing would do.
After watching all the other explanation videos you have done, actually watching this trimmed version of the lore really brought it all together quite nicely. I'm not sure if thats what you intended or if it was just aimed at non lore buffs but I really liked watching this specifically after watching everything else. I feel super hyped and preped for the story ahead of us, if I feel that way others must as well and thats really good news for the game. Thanks Bellular! :)
WoW has been around so long I’ve forgotten much of the lore. I really enjoy and appreciate your videos that break it all down and make sense of it. I think the lore is what makes the game great and worth playing. The videos that you and your team put together are the reason I’m getting excited for TWW. Thanks!
Idk why but this made me think of some new player showing up talking about lore and some old jaded dude just being like “I’ve forgotten more lore than you’ve ever learned kid.”
She's a harbinger for Dimensius, so I think her ambitions are to just serve and deliver the world soul unto him. Iridikron is taking advantage of the whole situation to lure out the titans because of his personal grievance with them.
I think in Midnight we might "lose" this time around and she does become a void lord, and then she is the final boss in The Last Titan, and maybe she somehow becomes cleansed of the void and becomes a Titan or we altogether have to start over on a new planet after the final conflict or something along those lines i mnot going to try and flesh them out here. I just have so many theories already buzzing in my head.
I think she'll get or needs Alaria to corrupt the Sunwell, look how the Sunwell reacted to her last time she got near it. Plus the whole "At the hour of her third death, she ushers in our coming" Ilganoth whispers.
Great video! I appreciate all the lore recap, and interpretation of what's to come. So much happens in each expac, it's tough to remember everything. You do a good job connecting all the dots for us.
The vibe I am getting from this is that all of the new zones are massive underground facilities that were used for experiments related to how life gets affected by the different magic.
This is the best lore video I’ve watched. Only been playing since BFA and it made it all make sense without being to complicated and makes me so excited for the story. Great job team!❤
@@BryanHinderer I suppose I don't know how the game played to new players, and I only know from the perspective of having played back in other game states. I'm hopefully optimistic about the world soul saga as well, so lets see how it goes.

Hey @BellularGaming ! It might be just a problem on my end, but you guys might want to check out the sound on this video, it hurts my ears even on lower volume.
It's the Waking Shores because the *Dragon Isles* are waking up with the return of the flights. S4 is the Awakened season because the Aspects have regained their powers. Like, there could be some duality to S4 heading into TWW, but I think the Waking Shores relating to Azeroth is a stretch.
Bell has steadily helped Blizzard through the years. Tons of insight and work to sort everything out. Definitely an irreplaceable asset to the community.
I just did the quest line recently to unlock the undead elves from the end of Shadowlands and something struck me. Calia Menethil felt out of place with the forsaken because she was risen by the Light instead of by death magic. To seek answers she goes to meet Margrave Sin'Dane to ask about the nature of undead. Sin'Dane tells Calia, "Be it powered by Light energy or Death energy, necromancy is necromancy and Undead is undead." Which got me to thinking about here... Inanis, Xal'Tath's current body, was dead before Xal'Tath took her over. Xal'Tath is now basiclly a consiousness that exists as void energy. So wouldn't that make Inanis undead too? Necromancy is Necromancy... even when powered by void energy, right? If so, could that mean Inanis is still in there and is just being repressed by Xal'Tath and a way to defeat her is through the same means any undead can be defeated? Or if we push the mind of Xal'Tath out, would that mean Inanis will return, now as a void undead?
My theory for the giant crystal sun thing in the cave roof that simulates the day cycle is not Sargarus’ sword (like why would it flip like that), but either it’s Azeroth’s physical heart flipping between a void state because of all the void it had been subjugate to for millions of years, or it’s where all those Titan facilities put all that void magic/influence. Like charging a battery.
It seems interesting. I like Xalatath, but I also hope she doesn't overstay her welcome and they don't try to pull the whole "subordinate usurps the master trope" where she ends up becoming the big bad instead. I feel like by doing so, it would make the Void Lords look like a bunch of pansies, even though they've been hyped up since pretty much the beginning of the game at this point. Although maybe that just comes down to personal preference since I hate that trope.
I still got ptsd from slyvanus doing that, when from a character that was good and willing to fight for anything to.. like a parody of crummy villians.
Would like to point out that Void's color redeco has kinda been ongoing since Warlords (ish); Ner'zhul's void magic got distinctly darker compared to MoP and Cata stuff, and Legion reinforced and solidifed that darkness sort of color. The blue would be the only difference, but as I recall we can see that in Legion as well.
"And I know that loads of people probably feel out of the loop". So I played this game from late Vanilla through to early Warlords. I kinda quit then, but came back late Legion. I was in the military at the time so didn't have much time to play, but remember getting to LFR the final raid. And I haven't played the game since. Saw the new expansion cinematic and was like "Huh...this looks cool, but I have no earthly idea what's going on, been playing FFXIV for the last decade. But I AM curious." So yes, I shall be watching this video. :D
I've been a sub and enjoyer of your content for a long time now. This video with your deep dive explanation gave me some little hope for the wow lore going forward, now that i understand the trailer teaser much better. It sounds very promising and that they finally are getting their stuff together at Blizz.
Ok. Azeroth has being infused with Shadow/void by the Old gods in the beginning(evident in the blood being harvested), with Life by Elune and Anr, (evident by the roots), with Death (LichKing and Shadowlands), with Order (Titans stuff everywhere/imprisoned old gods) and Disorder by the Legion.... where is the light infecting of the world soul event? With all this already affecting the "Prime World Soul" what will "awaken" from Azeroth? Is Azeroth the last Titan or is there another Titan left trying to claim Azeroth?
You've apparently missed this, but the blue glow on the shore is confirmed in interview to have been bioluminescent algae. It's just meant as one more sign of the "waking of the land", like the growing plants and volcanic activity, that the power of the dragons has returned to the land, just beyond the shroud. The signal for the Watchers, to open the way for their return.
World souls being eevee's explains a lot about the elemental themed races. A world soul that evolved into the void had it's native races evolve into the void. Trolls ancestors are like mini-world souls, changing depending on what energies they are exposed to over time. Perhaps we will see some duel affinity tauren
I believe that everyone has been "pumping" energy into Azeroth. Death through the jailor, Life through the world trees, Order through the titan installations, Chaos through tomb of sargeras and the sword, Void through the old gods, not sure about the Light. I feel like we will be working to make sure it's balanced through the next few expansions.
Well done video as always! Thank you for the information. I am planning on creating a new RP character with the Arathi background. But I need to get more lore on them. So I am quite excited to see what plays out in their zone.
This lore is like 20 soap operas put together with someone always one upping the last bad guy with names so complex I can’t bother to think about, wtf is wow turning to.
More cosmic horror please! Xalatath is cool but I hope she is nothing more than her title, the Harbinger. Chaotic entities like the void lords should have their missions beyond mortal comprehension and Xalatath is our closest link to what it could be. Or they could just make her the big bad and the void lords want to destroy/remake everything just like every other bbeg we’be ever had
After seeing all these videos - I think in the end, we'll have to sort of assemble all of the different magics onto our character - Order, Disorder, Life, Death, Light and Void. Kind of like assembling all of the infinity stones in Marvel comics - and that will probably be the solution to fighting all these other enemies, and why the Burning Legion, The Titans, The Void, Death, Light, and so on were all inimical to Azeroth. They were out of balance. So the solution will be "Rainbow power".
I am not a lore head. I enjoy the game for the simple mind numbing life drain that it is. I am way off but... 17:10 A vision of a falling star: This is the blade of Sargeras descending onto Azeroth A flash of light blinded them and then awoke under the surface: This was the blade penetrating Azeroth and sucking them deep with her. Kind of like how a sinking ship creates a vacuum. Crystal in the vision: This crystal is the tip of the blade. The crystal like presence is like a cauterization so that Azeroth would not bleed. A protection that formed around the blade tip creating a crystal like view. They Reached Kaz Algar about a decade ago but the blinding light. Legion released 8 years ago. When Sargeras is reveled from behind the clouds it is a long white light. Like a meteor, Haley's Comet, Falling star... Just a guess
didn't azeroth eat the 5th element, Spirit, before the old gods reached her? would that change anything? would azeroth be getting stronger as her denizens showed the strength of their spirit against all odds?
could you imagine that one of the old gods revolted against evil but wasnt exactly aligned with the new gods but a balance between both say like Elune. unless Azeroth predates both old and new gods. a pregenitor of gods and ancient knowledge.
So, to summarize, you said that every force, except light, has some kind of thing (lifeform of construct) rooted in azeroth, like death has forge of souls, order has the many titan facilities, life has the world trees, void has the old gods, and chaos have sargeras's sword. And somehow, the intent of these places/entities is to serve as evolving stones for our worldsoul eevee, right?
I have some questions if any of you guys know the answers I'd appreciate it. Why are the alliance and horde at war with one another? Are they still at war? What's the point of playing wow? The story is about the world you live in/on?
Wait.. Ahn'Qiraj is an Old God containment facility? I always thought it was built entirely by the Qiraji, surrounding C'thun like Nyalotha would surround N'zoth.
Another great vid. Just wondering though!, Arathor is thought to be the child of light and void....but what if it was actually referencing Azeroth? That world soul looks like an amalgamation of both. Probably wrong as usual, but I think it would be great.
What sucks about The War within is that atleast a certain point, previous expansion trailers atleast gave an idea what is coming. The one thing I can praise the war within, is the warband that is, you may bundle some of your characters to make professions easier. Great, but the war within saids nothing from the start.
Let's be real, Xal'atath being a corpse only makes her hotter. I hope the devs remember why we fell in love with her before she had this face though. In Legion she was charming, hilariously ball-busting, and had a lot of interesting commentary about the world. I hope we get to see more of that, more actual story with her, and not just diabolical mustache-twisting evil-doer moments. Edit just to add, if there was a book or video, Chronicles/History of Azeroth (as told by Xal'atath), with her laughing it up as she remembers civilizations doing their best and failing - and her part in that - I think you'd see an upsurge in lore nerds
So much has happened that wow does need a reboot IMO. A game where everything isn't so related to the humongous amount of past events in previous expansions, something more down to earth that is based on previous events that are slowly showed to newcomers.
Basically after Last Titan, they better do something cuz this is getting into archie sonic level of weird. I am fine with "everyone wants to claim azeroth as their own" but Shadowlands and that block poisoned the well. I didnt even look up Dragonflight stuff after playinv Legion.
I have been subbed for a long time since around the time of WoD, then at some point your videos stopped popping up on my home screen when they started to change the algorithm, and it started coming back for a couple of years now. Now I am happy to see your videos again since they are so informative and entertaining to watch, thanks Bellular
She was never the Harbinger of Dimensius. You are making a huge jump in lore there. There is literally no in game literature or literature anywhere that indicates this. My theory is Xal'atath is one of the Void Lords, it traveled to Azeroth after implanting the old gods and creating the black empire where she was betrayed by either the old gods working together or another void lord and stuck into the blade. She has been plotting for years to escape and now that she has gathered a bunch of power she wants to corrupt Azeroth and get her revenge on the other void lords.
She is, however, most definitely THE harbinger of something. Any theory that doesn't have her as a harbinger of some event, being or force is dead in the water.
@justinb7494 Except it never once says Xal'atath cut him off. Just that he was cut off. Sure, we can assume it is Xal'atath, but I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket because it doesn't make sense. That implies that Xal'atath is whispering to him at that very moment when it could be some other being inside the staff. Blizzard loves to play the long game. But the whole story makes almost no sense anyway. So who knows.
Time gating the crafting is the worst idea. They know that but are doing it anyway. They're ignoring this so-called *"council"* they claim to listen to, which they formed to do what they are not utilising them for. Clearly, they've not learned from their mistakes, which is apparent to anyone since they've sad it so many times there's no way anyone should believe them. The crest changes are a strange one since the consensus was that everyone was OK with it. There's other things, but the point is, there's going to be so many put off changes that will require more time if they are limited to a couple hours or so a day due to real life commitments, and blizzard can ill afford to alienate certain people, but here we are, seeing it happen.

I guess we could say Light has the Beledar, the giant crystal embeded in Azeroth's crust in Hallowfall
Thank you for this vid lord commander Bellular
I've been playing semi-regularly since Legion and can't believe I've never heard of Xal'atath before, goddamn she's been around.
I have some questions if any of you guys know the answers I'd appreciate it.
Why are the alliance and horde at war with one another? Are they still at war? What's the point of playing wow? The story is about the world you live in/on?
@bellulargaming where’d you get the sweatshirt
Wait.. Ahn'Qiraj is an Old God containment facility? I always thought it was built entirely by the Qiraji, surrounding C'thun like Nyalotha would surround N'zoth.
All Races should have the hunch/unhunch option(yes, even the tauren) and also beards. Especially the Darkspear(customization outdated A*).
Another great vid. Just wondering though!, Arathor is thought to be the child of light and void....but what if it was actually referencing Azeroth?
That world soul looks like an amalgamation of both. Probably wrong as usual, but I think it would be great.
I don't think we'll win this time. Midnight makes sense only if Xal'atath gets what she wants
where did you get this hoodie? we dont see much, but it looks like a banger
What sucks about The War within is that atleast a certain point, previous expansion trailers atleast gave an idea what is coming.
The one thing I can praise the war within, is the warband that is, you may bundle some of your characters to make professions easier. Great, but the war within saids nothing from the start.
love your lore videos! much love from germany
Thank you for this.
Great video guys very well scripted and has years of lore beautifully told congrats on the great work
"That's good stuff- write that down" - wow writing team probably
What a banger of a video 🤝
Let's be real, Xal'atath being a corpse only makes her hotter.
I hope the devs remember why we fell in love with her before she had this face though. In Legion she was charming, hilariously ball-busting, and had a lot of interesting commentary about the world.
I hope we get to see more of that, more actual story with her, and not just diabolical mustache-twisting evil-doer moments.
Edit just to add, if there was a book or video, Chronicles/History of Azeroth (as told by Xal'atath), with her laughing it up as she remembers civilizations doing their best and failing - and her part in that - I think you'd see an upsurge in lore nerds
spent half the video thinking about how i miss her whispers in classic and would love to be able to side with her only to be called a degenerate :(
meanwhile bellular wearing her on a hoodie... :D
@@AZreal50 to be fair, if given the option, i would wear her anywhere
Love you and your team Bell!
Not sure the dark blue/purple is new....after all Void Walkers have been that color for like 20 years
Those root colors remember me to the color patterns of the sha?
Maybe Tyr can help the irdenen out .. he is a titan keeper and maybe , just maybe he knows a thing or two about there mashinery :)
I never even noticed the big glowy soul thingy whatever it was called, during the cinematic, lol.
This is the expansion to return to Warcraft, this is a massive story over three expansions.
“What the fuck is going on?”
I don’t know
So much has happened that wow does need a reboot IMO. A game where everything isn't so related to the humongous amount of past events in previous expansions, something more down to earth that is based on previous events that are slowly showed to newcomers.
That sounds boring as fuck, fuck that dumb shit, bring on the cosmic shit finally.
Give me wow2 a la skyrim pov and artstyle. Give it to me raw
Won't happen, too many blizzard Andy's would die for today's iteration of WoW, which has driven away most of its core fan base already.
@@JRileyD they will have to do a hard reset after last titan. A new warcraft has to be something really new
Basically after Last Titan, they better do something cuz this is getting into archie sonic level of weird.
I am fine with "everyone wants to claim azeroth as their own" but Shadowlands and that block poisoned the well. I didnt even look up Dragonflight stuff after playinv Legion.
Didn't they state that the blue glow in the water for Dragonflight's trailer was just bioluminescence?
I'm confused I thought Alastraaxa was Life Binder
@@Highstar25 She is the harbinger of the awakening of Azeroth. Harbinger doesn't mean you particularly serve something, just that you come before it.
@@fadedletterslost soooo... Magni.
@justinb7494 Voidsong has what to do with Xal'atath? She doesn't carry it at any point. Maybe I missed it.
15:15 the spanish inquisition?
What if Azeroth ends up becoming the embodiment of all of the cosmic energies in one, due to being bombarded with all of them?
Oh man I thought I was subscribed, I checked and I wasn't, so I Am Now! ❤
