well i have not noitced it as much as this expansion / season so far, every few posts you see several items posted at stupidly low prices to try and catch those who just fast post or mass post items out.
or just use auctionator so you can see them properly and works similar for when your buying it will tell you before you buy something thats massively overpriced
As other's have mentioned. It's not a scam it's just an attempt to influence the market price. In fact, it can work to your advantage. I was trying to sell some bismuth and noticed someone doing this at a smaller scale. Ppl (or bots) were falling for it and placing their bismuth at 50g lower than the avg. Market price. I couldn't buy it quick enough at the lower price. I ended up buying 200k's worth of bismuth that I later sold for 250k.
I have noticed this over the past few days and so I am now taking a seconds to check the next selling price more often as I find that they post a few items like half the price so that people who just click sell it get's posted either at the lowest or lower than the lowest price, I would say to anyone who is selling crafting mat's via auction house to take a second to check before you pst as you can be losing half or more of the gold you could be making, Great video and I am glad that someone else has noticed this and is speaking up on it, If people do not check the price beofre they sell it will also drive the prices down faster.
its a trap / scamm / bait all the same thing, I find it funny how many people are saying "it is not a scam" yet they call it a trap or bait when that is exactly what a scam is, trying to catch people out and they make from it, clear scummy tactics.
This guy is correct, if you are in a rush and just post it quick....that is on you. You hit the button and you are responsible. I used to have a set price i posted at...i didnt post it at the same price as others. You set your auctions.
If you have TSM it can help protect against this a bit as well, but it's a good tip to check prices for people new to the AH that haven't optimized how to buy/sell as well as degenerate goblins.

This is NOT a scam. It's bait, and it's primary target is not the idiot player that can't take an extra half second to look at their listing before they post. It's bait for bots, who routinely dump impossible amounts of raw materials onto the market so they can exchange in illegal RMT. This bait actually is a service to the overall WoW economy because the bots won't take the time to price their ill-gotten materials properly and at least the bait will frequently trick bots into selling their goods well below market. It's in everybody's best interest for RMT traders to get as little gold as possible, and if an enterprising Goblin can get that gold instead, even better.
it is a scam, they are posted at a far less price so fast posters who do not check will auto get that lower price and then people who posted the low price are sat mass buying all the low price items to re sell at double or more later, clearly scammer's trying to catch people out, not everyone wants to spend time checking how much every item is before they post it each day,
its still a scam, there are bots on the other side to instantly buy low valued goods, it doesnt matter if its "supposed" to target farming bots, its not hard to set up a proper price listing if you already engage in botting. There are still many regular players that might get hit by it because to many people rely on addons to list things for them and are not properly set up to protect against that.
