Honestly glad the "GIGA Queen" part of Queen's theme became the main leitmotif. It was almost exactly how I originally wanted the (V1) song to be like, albeit the previous direction required it to be more straightforward, but eh it still turned out well regardless! Anyway, this is a banger; well done!
You guys did a redesign I prefer to the original!! The team did a really really good job! If Nerdly can address some of the criticisms, (Maybe combining aspects of both designs so it still matches with Kueen?) I think we have a slam dunk on our hands!
the battle animations here are really good got damn! Glad they kept the Scarlet Overkill-esque design. I personally liked her having the queen piece hat but this design is clean. Banger track as usual

Also I wasn't a big fan of this version of Killer Kueen but it's growing on me. I'll have to give Nerdly's themes a listen after the next version drops

Now unlike nerdly, this redesign slaps for kueen, she's atop a poker chip which fits with the playing card motif and the second mouth being in the breastplate rather than the skirt makes way more sense since she's the kueen of hearts. I also appreciate the head taking after the robot head from the final boss in chapter 2.
@@TheDaySquare overall the main thing I have issue for nerdly's new design is that it's way too busy between the cape, the visor and general shape language of the body. the original design they had was simpler but imo way more effective at portraying his character. the previous design gave off a sense of bravado and arrogance while (and I mean this as a good thing) looking stupid and goofy which fits perfectly with placing the character of berdly in lancer's role. the new design give of the impression of a child playing dress up and it just doesn't land for me. it's less like nerdly is his own character and more like berdly in a queen themed costume. final but very minor point, the lighter blue is so much worse for the body than the darker blue he had before. I get it's meant to match queen's colour scheme but I think personally the darker blue worked better. Sorry about the wall of text, I felt I best to fully explain myself and my feelings on it.
I like the new Kueen design, It fits her. About the music. Is good too 👍 PS: I would have liked the cinematic to have dialogue similar to the original. I love that new angle though

I'm pretty sure it was just the drawn art for Nerdly's redesign that was bad; it just looked very off But the sprites are wonderful, and I think it's very nice

The recent Newsletter had some behind the scenes information about the making of Chapter 2. Toby's first draft had Queen be much more overtly menacing, like we all thought she'd be back in 2018, and that Giga Size is a slowed down version of her original boss fight song, prior to being replaced by Knock You Down! for feeling more boxing match-ey.
3:00 I still don’t get why this part is here. Yes, Winter did it. And she still does, in fact. But when Winter does it, it’s to show off something important about a character, usually a crutIal part of that character’s backstory. Here, it’s a single shot of Kueen falling with no context or reason, with the only connection I can draw being that maybe it’s a visual connection to the Hopes and Dreams motif because it ties into Undertale’s into kinda sorta not really.

Also, it wasn’t perfect. With Nerdly’s old design, it was tied to a pretty bad person, so they’ve changed it to cut ties. It’s not necessarily their fault.
finally shadow the hedgehog got a new music theme but for real, giga size always was one of my favorite queen tracks, so i really like this one respectively
The redesign is the coolest thing ever, especially since it didn't make sense before. How come Nerdly had such flowy hair that resembled GIGA Queen yet Kueen herself is built like Fem King with a rocket dress and Mario 64 head? This design is much more consistent with how Kueen is still a royal figure who treats herself the way she deserves, but has the mentality of King, AND her hair is consistent with Nerdly's. The thing I don't love is Noelle's new voice. I don't see why it needed to be changed.

the nerdly redesign is good, it gives him much more personality. he's much more of a snot-nosed, entitled, annoying piece of shit and i love that its more close to how he originally felt and why he was so charming i do think the cape is a tad goofy, but it works.
alright, Kueen's desing isn't bad at all, but Nerdly's first desing was better IMO (idk, maybe i just liked him being more sharp). and it may just be me, but i also liked "Killer Kueen Bites The dust" better. Edit: Nvm it's been a while and i love both versions equally now btw, did you happen to do a V2 of Nerdly and Nerd Prix some days ago or was that a fever dream or something?
We did in fact, do a v2 of Nerdly and Nerd Prix, but it was deleted due to intense criticism on the main artist, at their request. The songs can still be listened to on soundcloud.
I'm still a bit iffy on the redesigns myself, especially Queen's. I don't like how downplayed her second mouth is now and the poker chip doesn't feel as elegant as the fire coming underneath her dress. But giving her the Giga Queen hair Nerdly lost was a nice touch. The song itself is a huge improvement imo, the melody actually feels distinct instead of three vanilla songs smushed together. But maybe the instrumentation could be better, it doesn't sound as emotional as the original especially during the Fallen Down part.
If im gonna be 100% honest, I feel like Qing should have kept his mouth on his stomach instead of Kueen having it. Its such an iconic part of his design and moving it to queen just looks really awkward. You could literally make it a usb port with teeth COME ON THE IDEA IS RIGHT THERE. Also nerdley still looks meh but tbh I just don't like the idea of him being a darkner in general.
You mean specifically this design or in general??? Because Kueen had the stomach mouth on her old design as well. Qing, although didn't keep his mouth on his stomach, still has his chain (the one that was coming out of his stomach mouth in deltarune). Only now this chain resembles mouse cursor. He can grab and drag someone with it which is quite creative imo.
Maybe Scampton The Great battle system will used in every Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten battle. And in Qing's minigame and in his final battle, original Deltarune battle system will be used be. If in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 we will get 2 unique battle system, these battle systems will be swapped in Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten. Battle systems are swapped.
@@CompactStar Once I was thinking about Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten's Undertale equivalent, where you play as Asriel and Undyne is on Mettaton's role like in Storyshift.
Giga Qing will be look like Mecha Hitler from Wolfenstein 3d but with rocket launcher and his palace will be look like Castle Wolfenstein, because tyrant means dictator(in original deltarune king was tyrant)
(No hate) Unlike Nerd Prix V2 I actually liked this better, my only complaints (again no hate) are that ...Why is it that in both of the Killer Kueen versions the beginning part (AKA the castle leitmotif) ISN'T PANDORA PALACE WHEN THAT MAKES SENSE THE MOST- as much as I like how Giga Size is used here in place of the castle leitmotif, it doesn't make much sense because the main boss power-up theme swapping with the castle theme when said boss already has their own castle theme feels weird. Tbf tho, it might just be hard to make Pandora Palace, a pretty chaotic song fit the vibes of Card Castle And, the falling (after OuaT leitmotif) section where it starts to fall down before looping is kind of weird here honestly, again V1's falling section honestly sounds better to me, in V2's case it's not as easy to tell that it's the falling section because it doesn't have that feeling of falling that V1 did, it just felt like it stayed the same until the end came abruptly. And to compliment this, I ABSOLUTELY love the OuaT section here way more than V1's I can't figure out how it's so good, and also it does make more sense than in V1 where it immediately went to OuaT after Berdly's leitmotif (another good thing also is that the first part of Berdly's theme plays after castle leitmotif instead of the second part which makes more sense since that's the case in Chaos King), because in Chaos King it doesn't immediately transition to The Legend, it does something like what this version did And in terms of design, both are honestly equal to me, although in the animation Kueen on the poker chip looks a little weird (but it's perfect in terms of the sprite), besides that it does fit King's card theme (in this case swapping with poker?). I also like how Kueen's head here is more based on the Giga Queen robot, although since she's the Queen of Hearts(?) I think it'd be better to make the edges look more heart-shaped? Not so much that they become hearts, but just look more like one

3:00 I still don’t get why this part is here. Yes, Winter did it. And she still does, in fact. But when Winter does it, it’s to show off something important about a character, usually a crutIal part of that character’s backstory. Here, it’s a single shot of Kueen falling with no context or reason, with the only connection I can draw being that maybe it’s a visual connection to the Hopes and Dreams motif because it ties into Undertale’s into kinda sorta not really.
I think it's a flashback to the moment when Kueen realized that Lightners abandoned them.

Also, it wasn’t perfect. With Nerdly’s old design, it was tied to a pretty bad person, so they’ve changed it to cut ties. It’s not necessarily their fault.

The redesign is the coolest thing ever, especially since it didn't make sense before. How come Nerdly had such flowy hair that resembled GIGA Queen yet Kueen herself is built like Fem King with a rocket dress and Mario 64 head?
This design is much more consistent with how Kueen is still a royal figure who treats herself the way she deserves, but has the mentality of King, AND her hair is consistent with Nerdly's.
The thing I don't love is Noelle's new voice. I don't see why it needed to be changed.

alright, Kueen's desing isn't bad at all, but Nerdly's first desing was better IMO (idk, maybe i just liked him being more sharp). and it may just be me, but i also liked "Killer Kueen Bites The dust" better.

We did in fact, do a v2 of Nerdly and Nerd Prix, but it was deleted due to intense criticism on the main artist, at their request. The songs can still be listened to on soundcloud.

GIGA QUEEN MOTIF???!!!!
I'm still a bit iffy on the redesigns myself, especially Queen's. I don't like how downplayed her second mouth is now and the poker chip doesn't feel as elegant as the fire coming underneath her dress. But giving her the Giga Queen hair Nerdly lost was a nice touch.
The song itself is a huge improvement imo, the melody actually feels distinct instead of three vanilla songs smushed together. But maybe the instrumentation could be better, it doesn't sound as emotional as the original especially during the Fallen Down part.

If im gonna be 100% honest, I feel like Qing should have kept his mouth on his stomach instead of Kueen having it. Its such an iconic part of his design and moving it to queen just looks really awkward. You could literally make it a usb port with teeth COME ON THE IDEA IS RIGHT THERE.
Also nerdley still looks meh but tbh I just don't like the idea of him being a darkner in general.
You mean specifically this design or in general??? Because Kueen had the stomach mouth on her old design as well. Qing, although didn't keep his mouth on his stomach, still has his chain (the one that was coming out of his stomach mouth in deltarune). Only now this chain resembles mouse cursor. He can grab and drag someone with it which is quite creative imo.
Maybe Scampton The Great battle system will used in every Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten battle.
And in Qing's minigame and in his final battle, original Deltarune battle system will be used be.
If in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 we will get 2 unique battle system, these battle systems will be swapped in Deltarune: Chapter Rewritten.

Not too big on Nerdlys new voice or design. I feel like the old one is a lot better. I really like the new Kueen design though.
(No hate) Unlike Nerd Prix V2 I actually liked this better, my only complaints (again no hate) are that
...Why is it that in both of the Killer Kueen versions the beginning part (AKA the castle leitmotif) ISN'T PANDORA PALACE WHEN THAT MAKES SENSE THE MOST- as much as I like how Giga Size is used here in place of the castle leitmotif, it doesn't make much sense because the main boss power-up theme swapping with the castle theme when said boss already has their own castle theme feels weird. Tbf tho, it might just be hard to make Pandora Palace, a pretty chaotic song fit the vibes of Card Castle
And, the falling (after OuaT leitmotif) section where it starts to fall down before looping is kind of weird here honestly, again V1's falling section honestly sounds better to me, in V2's case it's not as easy to tell that it's the falling section because it doesn't have that feeling of falling that V1 did, it just felt like it stayed the same until the end came abruptly.
And to compliment this, I ABSOLUTELY love the OuaT section here way more than V1's I can't figure out how it's so good, and also it does make more sense than in V1 where it immediately went to OuaT after Berdly's leitmotif (another good thing also is that the first part of Berdly's theme plays after castle leitmotif instead of the second part which makes more sense since that's the case in Chaos King), because in Chaos King it doesn't immediately transition to The Legend, it does something like what this version did
And in terms of design, both are honestly equal to me, although in the animation Kueen on the poker chip looks a little weird (but it's perfect in terms of the sprite), besides that it does fit King's card theme (in this case swapping with poker?). I also like how Kueen's head here is more based on the Giga Queen robot, although since she's the Queen of Hearts(?) I think it'd be better to make the edges look more heart-shaped? Not so much that they become hearts, but just look more like one
