If you intend on using a shield, you can actually make an Adamantine Shield at Grymforge with another mold. It gives enemies 2 turns of Reeling on a miss.
Great if you want to get the achievement, but I think it violates the spirit of the award. Doing an Abserd build could be fun once the devs introduce lone wolf buffs.
Pro tip for underdark stuff, Mage hand can trivialize rescuing the dwarf from the mushrooms and can be used to pull the lever and twist the lava wheel during the grymforge fight.
You can also just use turn-based mode, the mushrooms don't react when you walk past them, only when you stand next to them during the environment turn.
So funny thing about survival checks for digging spots is that you can just USE the shovel from your inventory/hotbar. So it got to a point in me and my friends playthrough that whenever we failed a survival check we just used the shovel in the general area of the check and it just gives you the chest regardless. Edit: shoot just saw someone also mention the shovel thing. Either way the tidbit about using shovels whenever a survival check happens is still good
So the Survival check is basically just to tell you that there's treasure to be hand in the vicinity. Check succeeded? The game gave you the exact GPS coordinates. Check failed? For anybody going for the achievement. Go Paladin last. If you accidentally break your oath, that counts as "respeccing" (I believe it counts even if you don't officially become an Oathbreaker subclass)
Out of all the people I've seen playing lonewolf, you are the only one recruiting all the companions and immediately killing them. Congratulations you psychopath.
9:56 fun fact: You don't actually have to detect the dig spot to dig it up, so if you know where a spot is and have a shovel if you just use the shovel where it should be you will still dig up the chest. Very nice for future playthroughs.
while your box-jutsu is mighty, you don't need to ever fight or toss gut if you aren't playing a race who resists magical sleep (like elves). Just go along with what gut wants and drink the potion. it may seem bad, but you'll get some unexpected aid that handles Gut and her ogre guard. I'm doing a pacifistic run atm myself, and this was a nice way to get another Tadpole easily!
you can disable the lasers at the selunite outpost by hitting the crystal in the main statue's (the one actually inside the outpost) staff with 1 damage
Destroy it after you killed the minautor, I ended up being able to fight it when it was standing on 3 HP, easy 75 XP. Of course you need to be fast because the minautor goes down kind of fast. Then destroy the crystal.
Great video! It kept me from boredom while I'm very sick. Just so you know, since you're a human, you can let Gut kidnap you. Raphael will panic and send his minion to free you, killing Gut and her ogre. Your way was really clever too though :)

This should be a challenge! Bard Cleric Wizard Warlock Druid Sorcerer Paladin Ranger Monk Barbarian Fighter Rogue is sort of viable. You get a ton of good cantrips and 1st level spells, plus Wizard spells to something like level 3 from scrolls. Your gear, scrolls, and barrels fight the war for you.
this is more or less what I did but I started Sorc for the con save proficiency and went rogue at level 7 as my first melee class to get persuasion/deception expertise just in time to get the Thorms to kill themselves in act 2
I am shocked that nobody else has seemed to figure out that you can demolish Minthara and get her loot by standing on that platform with the two ladders near the bridge She and the nearby goblins can’t do anything but throw a few rocks and after that they hide beneath the platform and are completely free to AOE damage (I prefer to unwildshape Halsin and Call Lightning, but throwable grenades and arrows also work, just take even longer)
This is an amazing video dude! I learnt so much about how to strategize in different ways. I was a bit nervous to try out a tactician run but some methods here are so good! Great explanations too! Keep it up. Definitely looking forward to ACT 2

why not go with 10 dex and just use heavy armor? both cleric and ranger can give any class heavy armor proficiency with the right subclass. so unless you want the initiative bonus(not a bad reason to be honest), it would work better to min max charisma, and use eldritch blast or one of the spellcaster blades. also, would give higher bonus in conversation, and since you arent save scumming, that charisma mod, could be the diference between a nice talk, and a hard fight. as a side note, i feel like shilleilagh would be incredibly usefull at the start. you could basically dual wield 2 torches, and shilleilagh both, to turn them into 1d8 + 1d4 + wis mod. so with a 16 wis, you would be getting a 2x(5-15). and you dont even need neither dual wield, or 2 weapon fighting, since shilleilagh already forces the wis mod on the weapon it is cast, completely ignoring the need for either(specially since, torches are considered light weapons anyway).

When I’m tired of listening to the same dialogue and the slow run animations, I like to inject CheatEngine into BG3 to increase the game’s speed to 3-4x.
