I drove a Rolls Royce as a bellman in college. I can say it was one of the most awe-inspiring experiences I’ve had behind the wheel… not because I found myself in one, but because of the way it functioned. While doing that job, I drove almost every supercar you can imagine and nothing else compares. The thing that strikes you first is how it goes into gear. Actually, it doesn’t. I wasn’t sure I was in drive because there was no click or lurch as the transmission engaged. It just… was in gear. As you hit the gas, it doesn’t jerk or anything… it just glides. And it’s so true that you do not feel any bumps or potholes. You feel like you are floating. I was so in awe of the engineering and how they were able to accomplish this in the suspension on such a heavy car. The video discusses sensory deprivation and I can completely understand this. So cool. I've always loved the Ghost. Good to see this craftsmanship still exists, even if it is out of reach for most people. Got to love British luxury. They set the bar for the best in the world.
There’s a parallel between the automotive and financial worlds. Millionaires tend to flaunt their wealth, while billionaires do not. Nearly every manufacturer today prides itself on having the biggest and best screens in a car. But if you look at truly top tier marks like Rolls-Royce, and Bugatti, they have little to no technology in the cabin. Technology is completely subservient to the character of the car. They don’t even have glass roofs. They’re rather standard cars with the emphasis on quality coach building. That’s what luxury is; timelessness.
- What colour would you like your car to be? - Diamond. - You mean a very bright white or perha... *drops a big bag full of diamonds on desk* - DIAMOND.

Holy crap.... everything is just craftsmanship.. they make every car and details by hand per the client's requests or preferences. These prime details and qualities of the car are made through skill and years of experience. I just think it's amazing how skilled and talented the employees are. 😲
1000 diamonds only sounds expensive. I doubt they crushed vvs but rather diamonds that could not be used for jewelry so they are cheap to buy in bulks.
Try to change your perspective. Someone paid an enormous sum of money to have shiny rocks crushed into sand and stuck on a bit of metal. Less impressive from that point of view.
@@CausticLemons7 Not really, diamonds are cheap and those so small, or so deficient have no value other than abrasives. Producing a metallic or pearl paint is actually far more impressive. This is just bullshit by a company that has always revelled in myths. I know I have two of their cars.
Painting lines straight without a ruler... damn, that's badass. Also, having a car with 1000 crushed diamonds in the frikkin' paint is the most concierge thing I could imagine.
That's dumb, a machine would be way faster and more precise, like with most other stuff they do. I never understood the concept of handcrafted=better, it gives a job to 1 more person rather than to a machine though, maybe the only positive. They probably use people because it's cheaper/more versatile for RR than buying expensive machines given the low number of cars they produce, but that's about it, I can't see how the fact that something is handcrafted would make it more luxurious. More expensive, yes, but it doesn't offer the customer anything more than what a machine could create
@@Marco-zt2jj It’s similar to how Rolls Royce don’t focus on performance and instead zoom in on luxury and uniqueness. They want to give the sense of exclusivity and prestige to buyers, knowing that their car was finished by hand and not some machine. Having only 1 painter is terribly inefficient, but again, it gives a sense of vanity, that right now, only your Rolls Royce car is being painted by this man right now. Gotta say, I can actually see why it's so expensive. With so much quality, customisation and relatively low volumes, price is actually quite justified.
Maybe a tiny little bit too much money as they make huge profits out of on single car and all the materials don’t cost a lot compared to the fact that it’s costumised.

As a 10 year old kid in 1970 a friend and I wrote to various car manufacturers around the world with a whole lot of boyish questions. The ONLY manufacturer to respond was Rolls Royce with a personal letter from the head of marketing answering our questions and enclosing a whole lot of brochures. That was impressive and, who knows, maybe we were future customers. I have driven a Rolls but have never owned one.
We are already in the big crash, Inflation is a catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To bring the housing market to a halt, the FED will have to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that other markets are being decimated. If you want to stay green, you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.
Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.
Hi! I'm excited to be here in your channel and I'm interested in learning more about investing and saving up for my retirement but am a little confused about the whole process. Any advice or tips to get me started up would be greatly appreciated.
I won't recommend gold and coop although it's a good investment. I'll suggest digital assets as it's the best future investment. It's advisable to seek financial assistance based on your available capital and area of interest or preference.
I saw on another UA-cam video a guy who bought a Rolls Royce Phantom and broke down in the middle of nowhere. He called some local tow company to take him to a garage. The people in the garage diagnosed the issue but didn't have the part and called Rolls Royce. Rolls Royce sent a chopper with a couple technicians and a new part to replace it free of charge. Now that's first class service.
It might be fake, look: "The legendary Rolls-Royce incident in Sweden in 1986". the CEO and his driver were going from Stockholm to Jönköping. Just around Mjölby, however, the car had broken down. The engine had died... The driver concluded that the problem with the car was most likely serious. Another hour later, a helicopter arrived. Two technicians stepped out and quickly built a small tent over the car before starting to troubleshoot. About an hour later, another Rolls-Royce arrived at the scene. It was almost identical to the car owned by Mr. CEO from Stockholm. The technicians quickly transferred the luggage and other belongings from the broken down car, to the new one. Customer service at Rolls-Royce in England had not even acknowledged the incident. They had replied that "their cars never break down". Was he really sure it had happened? Maybe he had been dreaming?

Wagons like those can also handle my state's intense pothole season which is right when the snow melts creating roads that have more holes in them than a Russian submarine!
I liked that thing I heard once about how the manual uses the phrase "fail to proceed", as in "If your Rolls Royce should fail to proceed..." instead of 'break down' or 'doesn't start' or something like that. 🙂
I've ridden in a number of Rolls and it's like gliding on air. I think of them as cars that are meant to be driven in, rather than driven. It's more about the rider's perspective, and that tells you something about the market for these cars. They are like limos.
My mom's 70 Lincoln felt like it was riding on air too. It had a 460" 4 barrel with 375 horsepower and the hood seemed like it was 8 feet long and it would mow down a 200 pound 8 point buck like it was a speed bump without a scratch and it didn't cost anywhere near as much as this car, but in the Rolls defense, the Lincoln didn't have a vase glued to the dash.
What kind of monumental bellend do you have to be to want your DNA sequence imprinted in gold on your cars dashboard though. Imagine waking up one day and thinking that was a good way to spend the vast amounts of money you have the good fortunes to own
"When his rolls royce was mobbed by fans the chauffeur said: ''do you want me to get them off the car?'' and Lennon replied: ''No - they paid for it, they can wreck it" - John Lennon
The key aspect here is "driver". If you own a Rolls, you don't drive your Rolls, you're driven. That's the difference with the trash-with-money crowd today. They're pullin up to Starbucks in their own Rolls for a seven dollar mochachino. Cheezy.

Crazy to think one man can pay more for his car, than another will earn in his entire life of working every day. Crazy.

I learned several years ago that more wood and leather than actually needed is assigned to each individual auto. What's left over after production is stamped with the serial number of the car and placed in climate-controlled storage. If any of the wood/leather in the Rolls ever needs replacement, it will be cut from the original production lot - rendering a perfect match. Unbelievable.
Damn. It’s on a league of its own…
Rolls Royce cars are very expensive and cool !

That's gorgeous. For all us middle class folks, things like this give us something to aim for and dream about.
If everything was moderately priced and reasonable with no excess, there would be nothing to shoot for
cope harder, wagie.
