This Fifth Estate episode relates Fleury's remarkable story, the staggering fall from grace that cost him millions of dollars, his family and almost, his life.
Agree 100% he may have had off ice issues back in his playing days and for what we now know a very sad reason. I look at what he has done after his playing days. He has done so much to help people. As for him as a player he was amazing and yet he was fighting so many inner demons. He still played at such a level with all of his emotional pain. I have always been a Detroit fan but was always intrigued by Theo because how good he was for his size.
Hard hard hard life I can't even imagine. Just wish he was able to get through it in a different way. He was hard to have around. I can't even imagine what Theo had to deal with and the impact on his life and how anyone could deal with that trauma. Poor guy
Been a Ranger fan my entire life , Theo is definitely top 5 favorite players eitherway, but those 3 years with the Rangers, He solidified his legend . Completely off his rocker, unhinged even , and still scoring like the sniper he is,. Hell one year, 00/01 he had 30 goals and 216 pim! Thank You for the memories Theo! Should be in the HOF by now....
Sheldon Kennedy is one of the most courageous people I've ever heard of.tje shame he experienced to speak out to defend the new young victims destroys a person
Sheldon was probably the most abused between the two but he wasn’t as skilled as Theo so his story was relegated to the footnote. I hope Theo paid tribute to his buddy as well.
Its a damn crime that this man isn't in the HOF. Ya, he had his demons..who the hell doesn't? Look at what Theo has been through and overcame. That alone needs to be celebrated..but when you look at his career while he was going through all of this shit. Hes a legend, but when you have a bunch of soft snowflakes and tree huggers calling the shots, people that wouldnt understand mental health and addiction or anything else, then they'll probably never put him in the HOF, what a tragedy.
Fleury saying the flames traded him to create seperation from him as a ticking timebomb is pure bullshit. He wanted the big money and thats all it was. He never takes responsibility for his bad behaviour as an adult or putting other children in danger with the Hitmen. He doesn't take responsibility for how he treated his family. Obviously what happened to him as a child was terrible, but it never should be used as a crutch to be a shitty human when youre older.
Wayne is a great hockey player but a better smokes man for the game. He represents educational experience and and experience from his experience and knowledge worldwide. And they didn't let him shoot in 98 God Bless us all
Maybe for a time. But once I found it in my heart to forgive my uncle who began sexually abusing me when I was 5 years-old - even though he never has apologized, and probably would deny ever even doing it if I confronted him - I finally was able to put it behind me and move on with my life. I’m not saying it still doesn’t hurt when I have the frequent flashbacks and night terrors, but letting go of the hatred for him and desire to hurt him as he had hurt me, was like a two ton weight being lifted off of my chest.
Should be in the HHOF.....without question!

Not without a question but he was really good for a midget
@@joeleaton607I don’t think the NHL will want to draw attention to the far right tin foil hat wearing whackjob he’s become.

Sooo sorry that these 2 had to endure the abuse.

Nice video. One of my favourite player to have played the game. He embodies what resilience is in the face of adversity, in game and in life.

You're only as sick as your secrets. Something that is applicable to everybody.

" Hey, It's Wayne "
Theo: Wayne who?
"Wayne Gretzky"
If he had stayed sane during covid he'd be a lock for the hall. Everybody loves a comeback story.
WARRIOR ❤
Retire his number and hang his jersey from the rafters , and put him in the hall of fame already ... much respect Theo you did it !
Top 20 greatest pure talent the game has ever seen
Hall of famer absolutely a person who had his demons but worked his ass off to fight them off anf eventually beat them
People that have breezed through life are the ones thatll be in for a shock when crunch time comes.
What a sin these players had to withstand this punishment from an evil predator.
Brave warrior.
